Ambiance is amazing! They let you bring your own food. It's such a romantic/cozy vibe. I loved it :)

I wanted to find a nice, quiet place in the city of Long Beach where my boyfriend and I could enjoy a nice glass of wine and a small appetizer. I decided to give The Wine Crush a try. Upon our arrival to The Wine Crush, we noticed a small room with a selection of Wine and other types of alcohol that a person could select from to have there and for purchase. However, we discovered that food/appetizers are not a part of the service this business provides. My boyfriend and I, still decided to give it a try, and we selected a drink and found a comfortable location in the their side patio. There was nobody else there: only us. Making it very pleasant and romantic for us. I have to admit that we spent a pleasant hour or so in that patio that was adorned with some plants and lights. What made it a nice experience for me was the nice tranquil, comfortable, and quiet time I had there while enjoying my drink. I was able to disconnect myself from the city stress and noise while I was there. We left feeling more relaxed. My boyfriend and I left feeling a stronger crush for one another tbh with you. However, what I would do differently the next time to make this experience more complete for myself would be to have food delivered there for me, which is not difficult to do. That way I could enjoy that glass of wine, appetizer, and peaceful patio all together.

Such a hidden gem in LB! Love coming here to wine taste! The outdoor patio is so enjoyable on a warm day! The only wish is that'd stay open later but the neighbors don't allow it.

I love coming to The Wine Crush and tasting delicious wines. Enjoying the beautiful weather out on the patio.

Super cute spot with a nice wine selection! Their patio is nice to sit and sip, and their staff is pretty rad too.

It's a nice spot located in Belmont shore. It's very clean and spacious on the inside with couch seating along with tables and chairs. It isn't loud but they did have some music playing. It's a good spot to chill at with family and or friends for a few glasses of wine. It's also a cool spot for a nice intimate date. Had the pleasure of tasting 4 different wines; 2 whites and 2 reds. I enjoyed the wines. You can bring your own snacks and charcuterie board. The hostess was very knowledgeable of the wines, sharing backstories of where and how they were produced. It was a good learning experience also.

When we arrived we were told there was no chef so only a few items could be made from the menu. I chose a flatbread but was then told they had no gluten free bread. So we had to get the charcuterie which was so small and cost $30. Really ridiculous price for something with a few pieces of meat, cheese, grapes and nuts. The wine was good, and the tastings were generous and I know it is a wine bar but the day was really spoiled by not having a lunch there. I don't think I would go there again. If you do make sure they have a chef before you go if you want to eat.

They not only serve sake but beer as well & sold Japanese snacks. We sat at the bar & did a sake tasting. There were many different kinds of sake for purchase to take home if u choose to. We didn't purchase any at this time. Sadly, they were out of the 2 tastings that I was eying at but we were open minded to try anything good. We both like medium intensity with smooth & crisp taste but the ones we got were bold & strong esp without pairing food with it. It was still good though & I definitely felt tipsy at the end. The best part was all the sake brands we tasted weren't the usual ones you'll find at your average restaurant nor will you find it at the Asian market. Hubby ordered beer on the side & it was solid. I was hoping to meet the owner of the place to learn about sake but heard he was in Japan at the time. The server was young & nice but didn't explain in detail about each sake served. Luckily, the menu had descriptions about the different types which were helpful. Pricing wasn't cheap but not too expensive either. We do want to return back to try the ones we weren't able to last time. I highly recommend this place for sake lovers & to those that want to learn more in depth about sake!

At first we were a little unsure, but the food quickly won us over. Buvons feels more like a cozy wine bar than a traditional restaurant, but that's part of its charm. The seasonal menu (which I think rotates monthly) offered some really thoughtful dishes. The asparagus was excellent, but the mussels were the star of the night. We could smell the curry broth coming from the kitchen before they arrived and immediately knew we had made the right choice. Served with frites for dipping, it was one of those simple, satisfying dishes that you keep thinking about afterward They were also streaming the Korea match and thoughtfully seated us near the projector, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Service was friendly and attentive. Would love to return with friends and enjoy their beautiful garden patio outside.

If you've been following along you know that I recently spent a weekend judging for the Long Beach…read moreGrand Cru. It was an exciting experience I hope to have again. More interesting is that I attended the public event weeks later and had an opportunity to savor, instead of spit out, all of the medal-winning wine. This is my story: Right off the bat, I was thrilled with tastings from Stolpman Vineyards at Vintner Tom Stolpman's table and the VIP lounge, that unique experience was quickly followed by a few more wows with bubbles from Vina Sympatica; the discovery of Cholame Vineyard, another great winery to come out of San Miguel; having too much fun tasting wines with Bob Gold, of Bob Gold & Associates, and his sons; getting to try the Limoncello again (that we awarded a Gold medal too) and the Grappa-like "Hooch" from Red Soles Winery; the wonderful Cabernet Franc, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon from Vinemark Cellars; tasting a few fun red blends from Chronic Cellars with wine judge and South Coast Botanic Garden Board of Trustee Peter Olpe; getting to try three wines from my new favorite winery in Wisconsin, Elmaro Vineyard, that also included another Gold Medal winner; the wonderful food, dancing to the live band and breathtaking venue. It was one of those events that had such a large space for guests to wander that we never felt crowded or had to wait much at all for a taste of wine or a bite of food. There was plenty of seating too, though we rarely took advantage of it. (An event other event planners should look at.) The crowning achievement of the event was twofold. This was probably the first wine tasting that I've been to that had so many medal-winners from all over the U.S. as well as the areas we are more familiar with like Napa and Paso. If a wine from Wisconsin wowed me you can bet that there were plenty more that I loved (see more in this short YouTube video here) with Gold Medal winning wine from places like New York's Finger Lakes, Maryland, Uruguay, Mexico's Valle de Guadalupe, South America's El Dorado, Michigan, Rhode Island, Indiana, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Puget Sound...if I were a vintner I would definitely send my wine to the Long Beach Grand Cru for judging and public tasting. The second fold of my twofold statement is that the event is rooted in supporting poverty law and the attorneys that dedicate themselves to serving those less fortunate, The Legal Aid of Los Angeles. I hope that if you haven't attended this 2-decade long running event that you consider it in 2016. 2015 Medal Winners Sweepstakes winners: Sweepstakes Winner, Dessert: Red Soles Winery Red Soles Stillhouse NV Limoncello - New Brandy infused with lemons, Paso Robles. He was so friendly, accommodating, and very knowledgeable... and he let us pick the music (extra points)! We were a group of 9 and did the South OC pickup from San Juan Capistrano. The shuttle van fits a total of 14, so we were joined by another couple and pair of sisters, who thankfully, were really cool people, so it wasn't awkward at all. The shuttle van was very comfortable and Joseph provided waters and snacks, but you can also bring your own if you like. We visited 4 wineries in total, tastings and winery tours were included in the ticket price, and most wineries offer a 10-25% discount on bottle purchases through Best Coast Tours as well. You can even order your lunch in advance, not included in the ticket price, to be delivered during your lunch stop on the tour. We chose that option and enjoyed our lunch seated at a table on the grass listening to live music. Everything was so convenient and we really got lucky with the beautiful weather.
