Google maps brought me to the SB Winery located in a quiet corner of a business park. There was plenty of parking. I walked in to a wee venue with two sommeliers and two other visitors. I was immediately made at home and felt welcome. I was shown the list of wines available for me to try. I ended up buying a few bottles. Looking forward to returning. read more

I love Seal Beach winery. They have some great wines that are affordable and the wine tastings are fun!

Tasting Flight: $20 for 6 1oz. pours We usually like this little winery, located in the back of a business park. Unfortunately, the service was lacking on this latest visit. The two young ladies working were mostly pleasant, but there was little interaction, and their knowledge of the wines they were pouring was not very in-depth. At one point, I felt that I knew more about their wines than they did, as we've been frequent visitors over the years. WINES: They have a decent selection of whites, rosé, and reds. We both enjoyed the '17 Chardonnay, but were split on a couple of the reds, and the others did not suit our palates this time. I was also a little disappointed that we weren't able to try their latest Natalie Grace Syrah releases ('16 & '17), or the '17 Taylor Noelle Syrah, as these have always been our favorites here. My mother-in-law had a glass of their Sangria, and I must say that it was quite nice. Overall, we were a little disappointed, and didn't purchase any bottles to take home this time. It was raining on a Wednesday night and my friend didn't tell me where we going. So when he pulled into an industrial parking lot that was empty, I started thinking, did I need an escape plan?! Welp, he made another turn and Seal Beach Winery was in the back corner of this industrial parking lot. He told me we were going wine tasting (I kept my escape plan to myself hehehehehe). We entered and it was very small but nice location. In the front, it was one couple and in their second room, it was a couple people. We decided to sit at the bar so we could see /hear the rain as we did our tasting. It was 6 pours starting with white wine. I am not a Pinot Grigio kinda girl but theirs was good. Of the 6, my favorite was Sangiovese and second was their Pinot Noir. In the end, we bought a bottle of Sangiovese so we can enjoy it at home. Janay serviced us and was very nice and attentive. She answered all our questions and was knowledgeable about the wines. The one star deduction was for the older gentleman that worked there. He did not speak once nor did he even smile. He literally had a unpleasant face every time he looked at us- definitely not inviting. As I read previous reviews the following night after our wine tasting, it seems I'm not the only one who picked up on his attitude. While we were leaving, we thanked Janay and said bye, even the patrons said happy new year to us but the older gentleman took a glance at us and turned away with a repugnant vibe. Here's their reply to my post. We are very aware of people with disabilities. There are two other spots, and often none of the are used. We do not block the ramp up over the curb. And we always help any of our guests out to their cars or transportation if the need or request it. We choose to do events on the weekends when there is less traffic. We have members that are disabled and they appreciate our efforts to accommodate their needs. We do maybe 5 or 6 of these per year, always in the afternoon when we are the only business that is open. I was getting together with my siblings for a Galentines and wanted a wine tasting experience but local. I found this winery on yelp. Affordable prices, location, and ambiance brought us in. We visited on a Saturday night at 7pm and loved how festive the place was. Lots of seating in the front of the place but we preferred the back for more privacy. We ordered a round of tasting $15/person, one round is 6 (1 ounce) pourings. I really enjoyed the wine descriptions, attention from staff and some complimentary tastings and chocolate covered almonds. It was a good experience but I felt rushed to leave. Closes at 10pm but began getting comments at 9pm to start closing up. First comment asking us if we wanted another bottle of wine but then answering the question by saying we didn't have enough time to finish it. Second comment was about handing her our carafe so she could rinse it although it still had wine in it. Another comment about how we were the only customers left. We left at 940 and they closed right after. Lights off at 940. I enjoyed the wines, I liked the service and I like supporting local business. I'm not sure when you'd come in to get the full experience but it wouldn't be on a Saturday night at 7pm. read more

I found out about Seal Beach Winery recently through a Groupon deal. Purchased the Groupon (which is a really great deal). Their website has very clear information/ instruction such as "no reservation required" and "we don't serve food but feel free to bring your own cheeseboard" so that was super helpful. Since there's no reservation required, we randomly stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. The exterior was a bit hidden as they are inside a warehouse/ commercial office area and was the last unit. From outside, you can hardly tell that it's a "winery." The up side is that they have plenty of parking spaces and they a lot of indoor seats. The wines were great and so was the service! We had a good time and are fans now. It's nice to have a local place to get great wine. They seem to be having trouble with marketing maybe due to the location, so please come give it a try and spread the words! read more

My visit to the Seal Beach Winery on 5/29/22 was great. I arrived at about 2:30PM. The place was at half occupancy. It is in an industrial part of Long Beach, CA. Once inside, it felt a bit small. The decor was no frills, yet, it was clean. I sat at the bar as most of the smaller tables were taken by couples. I didn't ask, but it seems like they were able to accommodate groups of up to 6 - possibly more. Clean restroom on site! Parking is ample and free. Their tastings are $15 for six 1-ounce pours. There are other good deals if you bring a friend along including a Yelp checkin offer: "50% off $15 Wine Tasting for 2." There is also a Yelp deal: "$35 for $50." I tried the following red wines: + 2014 Pinot Noir Clone 115 (Rio Vista Vineyard/Santa Rita Hills) + 2016 Petit Verdot (McGinley Vineyard/Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara) + 2016 Merlot (McGinley Vineyard) + 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (Estelle Vineyard/Los Olivos District) + 2016 Malbec (Taylor Noelle Wines/Happy Canyon) + 2016 Syrah (Harrison Clarke Vineyard/Ballard Canyon) I brought home a bottle of 2014 Pinot Noir Clone 115 ($43). I intend on bringing this to share with my mom and grandmother to New Mexico later this summer. It's a lighter wine that seems like it would pair well with a variety of dishes. Each tasting was presented with an excellent description of the flavors and where the grapes hailed from... my wine pourer spoke about the area much in the way that former CIA officer Bryan Dean Wright does on his daily podcast "The President's Daily Brief" - "if you look at a map..." Love geography & others who do too! I asked a plethora of questions and the gentleman working that day was not only enthusiastic about their wines, but kind and efficient as well. I had no clue that this cute little gem existed until I found them on Groupon. I bought a wine tasting package for two and it was worth every penny. The tasting pours were standard 1 oz for 6 wines -- 3 whites and 3 reds. All were delightful and had unique tasting profiles. My favorite red was the merlot and Chardonnay for the white. The Merlot was surprisingly complex while the Chardonnay was light and bright. Service was on point so no complaints there. While they didn't have bites when I went, the server mentioned that they'll start offering them next weekend. When we arrived at this spot that looks like it's in a business center we were warmly greeted by a server or host and an owner. We quickly were seated and provided to tasting glasses for our experience. We didn't wait more than five minutes for the first tasting place was clean not very many people were there, so most of the attention was on us we got to ask questions about certain names and we even left with the bottle overall very good experience. I hope they have better food options, though cause drinking all that wine on an empty stomach probably not the greatest idea. Service was attentive, there was just my husband and I when we arrived 2 hours after opening. I did their wine tasting, really enjoyed their Merlot (usually not a fan) and their cab. Nice little clean place. Is this the main event of the night? No. BUT it's a cute little pit stop in your day. They are no longer allowed to sell food so if you want charcuterie board you will need to bring your own. With the wine tasting I always find something new I like and end up getting a bottle to take home! I love how secluded the location is and the tasting room is a good vibe. I had been wanting to check this place out for a long time. I had a Groupon deal that included tastings for 2 people and a credit to take a bottle home. This is a very nice little place tucked away in a business park in Los Alamitos. I came on a Thursday night and there were only a few small groups there. The server was very friendly and explained how the tastings work and explained the tasting menu. He then served each wine with a delightful explanation of the wine and the flavors. I really enjoyed the wine tasting selection. I'm not usually a red wine fan but I loved the Merlot. It was so smooth. My favorite white wine was the chardonnay. It had such good flavor! What a brilliant treat! This fun little spot is quietly situated in an industrial complex. The staff are welcoming and well-spoken, as were the wines we tasted. $15 for 6 pours of really nice wines. Some of our favorites included the Grenache, a couple of their bigger Cabs, a Tempranillo, and our favourite, an amazingly rich Petit Verdot. We shared a simply delightful charcuterie board. How has it taken this long for me to get to this tasting room with my hometown's namesake?! A cute little place that is actually located in the city of Los Alamitos across the street from my high school alma mater. It is a bit hidden in an industrial business park kinda behind and to the side of Sizzler Restaurant. When you walk in, there is a tasting bar in the front room plus a few tables. There are also more tables in a back room where they also have wine and various wine accessories for sale. We were greeted warmly by the staff here. I brought my wine loving friend here with me for wine tasting. We elected to get a meat and cheese plate with our tasting which was very nice and accompanied our wine well. Enjoyed the wines we tasted here but my absolute favorite was the Rosé of Pinot Noir. I purchased a bottle of this to take home with me. The girl who was pouring our wine was friendly and knowledgeable. It was quite busy on the Saturday we were visiting and the place to started to fill up fast. I am glad we opted for an earlier reservation to taste. I am always glad to support small local businesses. Even happier when it is in the area I grew up in. Seal Beach winery has become my family's escape from the city. Stepping through the doors, you enter a touch of the Santa Ynez Valley. The layout of the tasting rooms' a bit cramped on busy days, but the supply of good wine keeps us coming back. I certainly enjoy my visits to Seal Beach Winery, along with their pairings of charcuterie and cheese plates, and the endless conversations with other wine club members. Wow! Very impressed with this place. SB Winery is located in a business plaza and is a little hidden if you're not intentionally looking for it. But once you find it, there's easy parking and access. I came here with a group of 5 and we all enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Lupe and Jose were our hosts and really brought the whole experience together. They were very knowledgeable about the wines! We did the 6 pourings for $15. (Plus a bonus house pouring since we couldn't make up our mind about which ones to get. Haha) Here are my favorites in order from best to least: 1. Rosé of Grenache 2016 (All around favorite. So light! So smooth! So fragrant!) 2. Sangiovese 2015 (Wasn't expecting a red wine to be in my top 3, but this is was nice surprises) 3. Pinot Grigio 2016 (No lingering aftertaste, which is always a good thing for me) 4. Sauvignon Blanc 2016 Bonus: Syrah 2011 Natalie Grace (Really smooth going down) 5. Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 (A little too heavy for me) 6. Pinot Noir 2014 (Blah! Not a fan AT ALL. However, 2 people from our group liked it. So it just wasn't my cup of tea, or shall I say...wine!) The real highlight of the whole tasting was the Five cheeses and charcuterie board from Cheese Addiction. Make sure to ask for the P'tit Basque! Some of the best tasting wine in the OC. Right near Seal Beach i recently went to a gathering of a small group to grab some wine with tasty food as well and we had a wonderful evening there. Great Italian and California Wines are sold here as well . I bought 2 of them for my wine collection at home. Place was great. Staff here are wonderful. Very quaint winery in the heart of Seal Beach. It was a little hard to find but so worth it! With the Yelp check in you get half off your tasting. I tried all the reds and there wasn't a bad one. Jose was so helpful and offered some of the reserve and growler wines to taste as well. I purchased a bottle of the Natalie Grace Syrah and it was simply amazing!!
