two cans of beer in front of a house
    Micky N.

My go-to place when I'm looking for gifts for others or treating myself to a good craft sour! Their selection is unmatched and Patrick is so knowledgeable. He has introduced me to one of my favorite beers of all time and for that, I'm forever grateful. He is stocked up on every single type of beer you're looking for. He even has some wines from time to time I believe (I could be mistaken). There's not much left to say that others haven't already said, but come and support a local small business!

What a great experience we had. This could be our new favorite spot. We are normally not beer drinkers where wine and Margarita drinkers but the knowledge the owner has with beers craft beers just blew us away. Once you try a couple different spirits seltzers he gets to know your pallet and then he can start suggesting the craft beers which were awesome. After leaving here we went to a bar down the street and was so disappointed by their drinks compared to his. Definitely a Hidden Gem that needs the word spread.

We walked in on Black Friday to support our local small businesses. The owner told us he was hanging on. There is a nice selection of goodies for gifts. We mentioned an interest in cider and he directed us to some by LB cider Ficklewood. We talked more about beer! We looked for something new and got a great recommendation. The owner and my husband both enjoy Dogfish 90 min IPA. The owner shared a story with us about how that came to be. So, very knowledgeable, great selection, local store - what's not to love.

This is a really fun beer garden/tasting room place. we had pizza next door which was amazing by the way and wanted to go for a walk afterwards and came right in and tasted a few beers and hung out with the staff. The gentleman working there was very friendly and polite. He also brought his French Bulldog which was just freaking adorable and loved playing with the customers. my wife couldn't stop playing with him, I was more focused with their beer selection. I decided to get a heady topper since they have them and didn't regret my dank sappy decision. They carry a very wide array of beers here and you can experience them all in the sectioned off area on the back of their location (if you buy one). I'm glad we walked in to sample their wares.

Stateside Crafts is an awesome place to visit if beers and eclectic snacks are your thing. While others boast about quantity and alcoholic assortment (i.e. vino, vodka, vermouth, etc.), Stateside is less overwhelming which, in this case, is a very good thing! Unlike their rivals down the street, they have a more intimate approach to the artistic craft, if you will. Their enthusiasm really shows when you have the opportunity to speak to an employee. They tend to be knowledgeable and exude passion for what they do. The selection isn't out of control but there's definitely some real gems here. It's a humble little place but I can literally spend a lot of time reading labels, gawking at sophisticated munchies, thinking about grabbing a craft soda, and.. Oh yeah, possibly try one of their featured flights in their social gathering area. I'm ridiculously into Stateside Crafts! The #1 reason why this place catapults itself ahead of the competition, to me, is the fact that they carry beers from my favorite breweries located in my home-away-from-home: Boulder County, CO. I think I'm in love ;)

A saison and two sour ales, all good! Owner makes great recommendations based on your likes.

I love this place. The owner is very friendly and gives great recommendations based on your tastes. After a trip to Flanders, I've been into sour ales lately, and have gotten some good American ones here at Stateside Crafts. I'm slowly making my way into hoppy Belgian style ales, so will be making a trip again soon. Follow their Facebook page so that you can see what's new. Great little market for California Heights.

An almost weekly tasting spot for co workers and myself stateside offers us a taste we normally wouldn't know how to find . The owner Patrick always welcomes us and provides us with a selection of wonderful beverages . He has available beers for every persons taste and preference in his refrigerators . He is constantly getting new selections and will give you a short history on each selection . He also carries a variety of snacks , cheeses , and meats to go along with your selections . If you're in the mood for some great beers and great snacks make sure to give stateside crafts a visit .

Not as big of a selection as Corked which is about half a mile down Atlantic but this place is charming nonetheless. They do have a much better selection of snacks/condiments and offer tastings in the back. The workers are always friendly and helpful and the fact that they're always busy is a good sign. They do seem a tad pricey and if I'm not mistaken I think I've actually seen certain prices go up just in the past 3 months. I haven't reserved a tasting yet but it's on my list and I'll update the review then!

If you're looking for a low-key evening filled with delicious craft beer, look no further. This is a fantastic new joint in Bixby. The owner really cares about the place and the products he sells (You can tell by the compulsive cleaning and dusting he Constantly does while also making delightful banter with the customers). There is a tasting menu of 4 beers, generally local, that range from light to dark. The tasting menu is a reasonable $8. You can also taste any of the beers you buy there. There currently isn't much food there to try, but I think its in the works. They do have some healthy snacks that you can munch on while you're sipping on the brews, but I'm more excited about the charcuterie plates promised as coming soon! Give this a try if you're in the neighborhood. You won't regret it. There really isn't anything like this place for miles.

It's located in Bixby Knolls, surrounded by coffee shops, restaurants, bars and breweries, yet it's the only true wine bar right there. Honestly, Long Beach has more wine bars than most surrounding areas, and since the South Bay is packed with breweries, if you're tired of beer this is your sign to switch it up. You will not regret it. The food menu has cheese boards, salads and sandwiches, and everything I've had here has been delicious. The cheese boards are better than sex. There is seating indoors and outdoors. It's minimal, but somehow we always manage to find a table. The service is consistently great and the owner is wonderful. She will be leaving soon and she will absolutely be missed, but what she has built here will definitely be cherished. The new owners fell in love with the place, so you can expect it to be well taken care of and to remain just as charming. Parking is street only, so read the signs carefully so you don't end up with a ticket. If you go on a Sunday there are no restrictions or time limits, which makes it even better.

Although I get annoyed at ordering at the front, I will say they try and speed the process up as much as possible. I've tried quite a few dishes on the menu and still have a few left to experience, but my go to is always something with bacon. The potatoes are cooked perfectly, along with the eggs, and steak (I believe they are cooking sous vide so they turns out perfectly every time) They have outside patio section that is shaded, along with little fans to help in case flies get in the way. Everything feels clean, classy and thoughtfully put together. When you first arrive, seeing the line out the door can be a little intimidating. Usually at places like this, I feel like I have to fight for my life to find a table, but thankfully that wasn't the case here. The staff was very kind and asks how many are in your party and helps you get a table, which made everything much less stressful. They also give you menus while you wait so you can decide what you want ahead of time. We arrived at 10:30am and our wait was about 30 minutes so by the time we were able to order at 11am, the lunch menu was also available. I ordered the tater tots, Cinnagave Shaken Espresso, Dutch Baby Pancake and country sourdough toast with jam. With tax and tip, my total came out to around $40. It's definitely pricier than what I normally pay for breakfast. Most entrées range from $17-$34 and coffees are around $5-$10, so you can easily spend $30+ for one person. In these hard times, that's not exactly ideal for me. I also wanted to try a pastry to get the full experience, but when I found out the small blackberry danish was $7, I decided to pass. I just couldn't justify getting that close to $50 for breakfast for one person. Now for the food! The country sourdough toast with jam was actually my favorite item. The homemade sourdough was incredible and honestly deserves its roses. It sounds like such a simple thing, but it was so well done and easily the standout for me. Visually, the Dutch Baby Pancake was beautiful and definitely impressive when it came out. I've always wanted to try one, so I was excited! I will say, I've read everywhere that Dutch babies are supposed to have more of a custardy center and even the photos I've seen look that way. Mine didn't really have that texture at all and tasted more like a crepe. Maybe it was a little overcooked? It wasn't bad, just not quite what I expected. Still delicious! Unfortunately, the tater tots were the biggest disappointment. They weren't crispy, didn't taste seasoned and sort of fell apart until they became one big potato mess. My cousins and I ended up not finishing them. One of my cousins ordered the summer peach and corn salad, which she liked! Just a heads-up that it's only available after 11 a.m. My other cousin got the skillet, she mentioned feeling a little disappointed since it tasted a little dry and didn't finish her plate. However they both ordered the Curious George drink and LOVED it! The Cinnagave Shaken Espresso was also fantastic. Coffee is definitely something they do very well here and I can see myself getting again. Overall, the aesthetics are adorable and I could see this being a great date spot. The coffee was fantastic, the sourdough was amazing, but the rest of the food was just okay for us. That was a little disappointing because everything sounds SO good on paper. Maybe we just caught them on an off day. The prices are probably the biggest thing holding me back from coming back regularly. Spending $30-$40+ per person for breakfast isn't really in my budget right now, but if this is within your price range, you may have a completely different experience. When I review a place, I try to take the overall experience, personal taste and effort into account. For now, I'm leaving Zuzu's Petals at 4 stars because the effort is definitely there, and what isn't my cup of tea may be someone else's liquid gold. I'd still give them another chance in the future... after I get paid!

The shop was so cute, it's small but with everything you'd need for a cheese and meat party including breads, canned additions/fish, and wines! I grabbed a fresh loaf of baguette to add to the order. Both trays were ready and absolutely fresh. The honorable cheesemongers overlooking shop were very nice and helpful! One female worker was providing samples for a gentleman when he asked for recommendations and my cheesemonger asked what kind of cheese texture I generally liked and offered to give me a cheese from three different animals, which I thought was absolutely awesome! She even offered to help me carry my trays out. The veggie tray was awesome, a great size, half pickled half not pickled, the dips were both amazing! We got the green goddess and Calabrian chili aioli and both were such a hit at our get together. The peppers are slightly spicy and were so delicious. We loved the variety of cheese and did not have a single cheese we didn't like. The petite toasts with the meat and cheese board is a must! So good and crispy and a perfect size for a bite.
