I really like this store! They have soo many cool items. They have alot of the hard to find beers, wine, cookies and ciders! I saw they had the cascade apricot so for sure picked up a couple along with some MAMA's peaches from browns and hops brewing company. Those are my two favorite drinks. They have all kinds of IPA, belgium style beers. They also have ice cream, cereal, chips, pretzels, fix and hoggs peanut butter, candies and keto items. Just a beast of a store. STEPH JUDGEMENT: AMAZING selection of beers and snacks. My friends and I stopped by here after dinner at the Wood & Salt Tavern to grab some more libations. Their selection is truly dazzling, and I think we were looking at the cases for a good 15-20 minutes before finally deciding on some stuff. I got Beachwood Brewing's Draper's Dram, a Manhattan-inspired beer Bourbon barrel-aged with spices that was just dynamite! My friends all got different varieties of beers (can't remember them all) and we enjoyed them all. I also got a can of Zatarains Cajun peanuts that were way too addicting and we ended up eating almost the whole can, oops. The proprietor, Patrick, is a very knowledgeable and affable person--ready to answer any questions you may have about his wares. What a great experience we had. This could be our new favorite spot. We are normally not beer drinkers where wine and Margarita drinkers but the knowledge the owner has with beers craft beers just blew us away. Once you try a couple different spirits seltzers he gets to know your pallet and then he can start suggesting the craft beers which were awesome. After leaving here we went to a bar down the street and was so disappointed by their drinks compared to his. Definitely a Hidden Gem that needs the word spread. read more

I've only been here a few times, but have been immensely impressed. They aren't a bar, but a tasting room. You can also get anything from the case for a bottle pour. And, their quick bites menu, while small, is top end. Got a tasting flight the first time I was here and bottle pour the next. The draft taster flight was 4 taps, plus they had 2 more for full pours. Selection is rotating. The bottle selection is superb. I went with the owner's recommendation for a stout (Faction out of Alhambra). You can't pour your own according to the rules, but he kept me topped off. From the tasting menu, I'd recommend the brat. Great flavor. They also have patsy w gravy, pizza/calzone things (calizza), bar snacks, and more dogs. Hope they get off double secret probation and are allowed more flexibility. But, in the meantime, it still is an incredible place. Maybe, just maybe, I wouldn't change a thing. read more

This is a really fun beer garden/tasting room place. we had pizza next door which was amazing by the way and wanted to go for a walk afterwards and came right in and tasted a few beers and hung out with the staff. The gentleman working there was very friendly and polite. He also brought his French Bulldog which was just freaking adorable and loved playing with the customers. my wife couldn't stop playing with him, I was more focused with their beer selection. I decided to get a heady topper since they have them and didn't regret my dank sappy decision. They carry a very wide array of beers here and you can experience them all in the sectioned off area on the back of their location (if you buy one). Stateside Crafts is an awesome place to visit if beers and eclectic snacks are your thing. While others boast about quantity and alcoholic assortment (i.e. vino, vodka, vermouth, etc.), Stateside is less overwhelming which, in this case, is a very good thing! Unlike their rivals down the street, they have a more intimate approach to the artistic craft, if you will. Their enthusiasm really shows when you have the opportunity to speak to an employee. They tend to be knowledgeable and exude passion for what they do. The selection isn't out of control but there's definitely some real gems here. It's a humble little place but I can literally spend a lot of time reading labels, gawking at sophisticated munchies, thinking about grabbing a craft soda, and.. Oh yeah, possibly try one of their featured flights in their social gathering area. I'm ridiculously into Stateside Crafts! The #1 reason why this place catapults itself ahead of the competition, to me, is the fact that they carry beers from my favorite breweries located in my home-away-from-home: Boulder County, CO. What a wonderful store that specializes in 100% USA produced specialty food and beverage items. Chocolate, ice cream, what seems like hundreds of flavors of craft beers... It's a treasure and I'm happy to know it's about a mile from my new house! :) I think the beers are reasonably priced, and I'm sure their markup on the other items is fair. (Meaning the stuff *starts out* expensive, so of course it's expensive on the shelf.) But. I just paid $11.99 for a mason jar of ice cream. Yes, it's organic everything and I'm sure it's created in small batches by some California elves or gnome fairies but yikes! LOL! (And yes, the store *is in* Bixby Knolls, where the fancy people live.) The owner's wife was incredibly attentive, informative, personable, and engaging. Not as big of a selection as Corked which is about half a mile down Atlantic but this place is charming nonetheless. They do have a much better selection of snacks/condiments and offer tastings in the back. The workers are always friendly and helpful and the fact that they're always busy is a good sign. They do seem a tad pricey and if I'm not mistaken I think I've actually seen certain prices go up just in the past 3 months. This is a nice hidden gem in Bixby Knolls. Don't let the small size fool you; there is a nice big selection of beer as well as high quality wines, ciders, mead, and even ice cream. Patrick's knowledge of his stock is unsurpassed. If you don't know what you want just ask and he'll point you in a good direction. Our favorite bottle shop! (Also a very fine tasting room). My husband & I come in generally once a week to pick up new selections and old favorites. We are big craft beer enthusiasts (and I don't mean the kind that enjoys going to Karl Strauss to order a pilsner and calls themselves a "craft beer fan"), and this place is tops. Patrick, the owner, is awesome, knowledgeable, and friendly. The selection here might be smaller than other bottle shops like Cal Heights Market and Corked, but it is extremely well curated. On top of that, Patrick will be able to tell you about any beer in his cooler - unlike the larger places. He now also has wine. We haven't had any of the snacks yet, but they have always looked delicious. He now also has wine! A small sampling off the top of my head of the beers we've discovered and loved from Stateside: Roadrunner Roadrunner (Stereo), Zero to Sexy (Figueroa), Juice Pop (Eagle Rock), Hazy like Sunday Morning (Chapman), and the Messenger (Three Weavers). We love coming here to see other locals supporting an awesome local business. He also has local art decorating the tasting room, which he sells! We'll continue frequenting this great business; definitely a staple of the LB craft beer scene. read more

If you're looking for a low-key evening filled with delicious craft beer, look no further. This is a fantastic new joint in Bixby. The owner really cares about the place and the products he sells (You can tell by the compulsive cleaning and dusting he Constantly does while also making delightful banter with the customers). There is a tasting menu of 4 beers, generally local, that range from light to dark. The tasting menu is a reasonable $8. You can also taste any of the beers you buy there. There currently isn't much food there to try, but I think its in the works. They do have some healthy snacks that you can munch on while you're sipping on the brews, but I'm more excited about the charcuterie plates promised as coming soon! This is a relatively new spot in the cool area of a revitalized Bixby Knolls, Long Beach. Needless to say it far exceeded my expectations. I saw many beers that I have never seen anywhere else, and purchased quite a few. Patrick is very knowledgable about his products, and offered several food pairing suggestions that were on point. Great looking shop+great products+excellent customer service= one awesome shopping experience. Stateside Crafts is a step above the rest. If you have grown weary of navigating the craft beer world in fend-for-yourself shops do yourself a favor and come here instead. After going several times with my wife,we brought friends in for my birthday. Open entering we found an employee that was not the usual person that is very knowledgeable and friendly. We looked around then moved to the tasting noticing that usual chalkboard signs with the current flight only had 3 of the 5 or 6 hung. Half the fun in this place is trying new beers and seeing where they are from. After asking the staff what is on the flight, he looked up and said I'm not really sure. I've been to lots of beer and wine tasting and never been told I'm not sure. Our large group then decided to take chance on that glowing review and paired our order down to 3 tastings. We were served our 5 tasters all at once and in one breath he rambled off all 5 brews. Then is when we found out that the remaining signs of the flight were not correct either. Not only is he a smart business man but he's a great guy as well. I was here with friends trying out the rare craft beer selection and whenever we bought a beer to drink the owner would tell us interesting facts about the beer itself, from the reason behind the ingredients used in the beer to the brewing process. Very knowledgeable and respectable individual. If you're in Long Beach, come out and show this spot some love. The atmosphere here is incredible with smooth music playing subtly in the background. I came here just because it was refreshing to see another place in the local area that does craft beer. I am a bit of a snob when it comes to craft beer and Stateside Crafts feed that snob in me. First of all, the ambience in the place is awesome. It is very clean and very modern without being garish or overbearing. Then, you have the people. Patrick is one of the most knowledgeable people with whom I have spoken about beer. He knows his stuff. He curates the selection of ales in his store. I use the word 'curate' because there is a quite artistic collection of beers for sale. Everyone who cares about the beers they drink has that one store which has beers that rotate all time. Seasonals, special releases, limited collaborations, rare beers, etc. Stateside has these and more. I went in the other night looking for a bottle and only then realized that they do flights. Patrick collaborates with his suppliers (which includes input from head brewers as well) on what kinds of beers will make his tasters pop. I enjoyed a Fall Seasonal flight consisting of Ballast Point Dead Ringer, Ballast Point, Pumpkin Down, Left Hand Oktoberfest, Uinta Oak Jacked Imperial Pumpkin, Farnum Hill Dooryard batch#1316, and New Belgium Le Terroir Sour. Hands down the best flight I have had anywhere. The flavors complimented each other and the New Belgium sour is the best sour I have had (which is high praise from a person who drinks sours whenever possible). Plus, Patrick is a people-person. He talked with us about his flight selection and gave us a list with complete brewers notes (which makes it easier to know what I am drinking in a flight, as well as enhancing my understanding of the drinking experience). I went in 15 minutes before closing and they were completely cool staying after hours and talking with me for a bit. In addition to the great beer, they have a hearty selection of craft foods, many of which are sourced locally. Stateside is well qualified to represent the LBC. If you're in Long Beach looking for craft beer, you owe it to yourself to come uptown to Bixby Knolls and trying Stateside Out. Pretty soon, a brewhouse is opening next door (Dutch's). Second, he is going to find what you like. Third, if you are an experienced craft beer drinker you are going to love the beers he has available. You won't find any macro brewery beers here, only ones that think about quality, ingredients, and love. Bonus, he has flights of beers that you can taste and see what you might like. No full pours which is a shame. The person on staff was extremely knowledgeable as well. I really hope they can do full pours soon because this place would do amazingly well.
