I have been passing this place up for years! First time ever. There is plenty of parking outside. The outside establishment doesn't look impressive but the inside is well maintained. Clean and Organized! When you go to liquor stores in Long Beach for beverages and snacks, majority of the time it feels like and old school establishment. Grimy and Dusty. This is not the case. Its night and day from viewing it from the outside to the inside. Overall I was pleased with the ambiance. I was greeted by the cashier. The only thing I noticed that the cashier did not give me a receipt for the items I purchased. Either they should of asked me out of courtesy or just provided me one. Overall had a good experience. Plenty of selections to choose from. I have noticed that alot of hard to get items from countries were for sale there. I stumbled upon this liquor store when I realized the restaurant (The Green Olive) I was heading to for dinner was actually located inside it and I'm glad it brought me in! From the outside it looks a bit small, but once you're inside you'll see they have an impressive selection. There's even a walk-in cooler stocked with tons of beers from both local and far-off breweries. One of the coolest surprises was their variety of snacks and drinks from around the world. They carry chips, soft drinks, and ice creams I recognized from my time in Japan, along with lots of unique candies and snacks you don't usually find in typical liquor stores. I'm not much of a drinker I'll have a mixed drink and enjoy special drinks when the occasion permits. I came in here to find Casamigos Tequila that my daughter and her boyfriend enjoy. My opinion This liquor store is packed with wine and every liquor on the planet if you have any alcohol issues this definitely isn't the place for you and believe you me they have everything from high end to low. I had help from a staff member and immediately find Casamigos but they have way too many choices. I'm thinking come on man and ask the man what would he drink - he explained the pros and cons of each flavor and bingo I made my choice choosing the silver bottle inexpensive. It's almost Christmas I like eggnog during the holidays and immediately zero in on a few with alcohol ultimately choosing Evan Williams original southern eggnog I haven't opened it but I'm sure it's going to be delicious served in a glass filled with ice. I also found a bottle of Bacardi Gold perfect to add in a batch of Puerto Rican Coquito I plan on making after the New Year. My favorites I love Peach Moscato and they not only have that flavor they have soo many others I'll definitely buy a case because it's much cheaper in this store When you buy in bulk. Gifts I had a beautiful glass carafe carved with initials made on the bottle for my daughters boyfriend to store his Tequila he was surprised and very happy with his gift. Huge selection of wines and spirits, and from the looks of the wine, super high end. But I am a beer drinker and they have craft beer and a huge walk-in to peruse. The reason for the 3 stars is that every single time I have bought an IPA, it has been old. I spent $23 for a 4-pack the most recent visit, and it was obviously old so I looked at the date and it was not fresh. They need a buyer who is going to get this stuff out the door while fresh. I noticed that Corked has a really knowledgeable sales guy always there, directing you, which might seem like pressure sales but it is not only valuable to the buyer in introducing new items, but it also helps the store sell things before they expire. read more

This review is for both Liquor Land and The Green Olive. Originally I was trying to get to the Green Olive but the gps kept taking me to a Liquor. I know ahah I couldn't believe it either. Anyways turns out the Green Olive is located inside the liquor to the left of the wine bottles . The food was cooked throughly and it was delicious. This is my favorite liquor store/bar supplier. I don't do the bar scene anymore and as I explained to Antonio A, I have 3 bars in my crib. I drink at home and my friends come here for the most part. My daddy was a player and told me when I was young that a real lady has a cutoff date for some things. Bars is one of them. I have a room which is a total bar, a bar counter in the main living room and a bar in my private bedroom. I can bar hop without leaving the crib! I keep my home/private bars stocked and Liquorland helps me out with that. Now I don't know the name of the guy who hooks me up but he has never forgotten my name and is a total hottie!! I gave my recipe for Cherry bombs to you, so I must tell you that you probably won't find Dekuypers Cheri Beri Pucker anywhere but here. Why? Because I had it special ordered after enjoying some in Atlanta. They keep it stocked for me here. They have an XTENSIVE selection of alcohol and accessories and will order anything you want. My main bar..."Veranda Paradisa" is well stocked due to them. There is also a deli with interesting stuff, but I must be honest and say that it has seen better days. Yea, I know it's a spot called 'Liquorland' (they're actually known for their whine inventory but you can't get any better than this in terms of deli style deviled eggs & made-to-order sandwiches. Made a reservation on Tuesday for a keg of Beck's for my Oktoberfest party, guy said everything was good, took my name and phone number, and said my beer would be ready on Saturday. In a couple of weeks we will not just be coming here to buy booze we will also be eating here because The Green Olive Mediterranean restaurant will be moving in to where the deli used to be. Been here a few dozen times. They have a large selections of liquors, vodka, whiskey, cognac, beer. The cashier have a good sense of humors, he's always joking with us. My friend messed with him a few time. Just hilarious. They used to have a meat deli section but it seems like they closed it off because it doesn't get that much customers anymore. The owner is a rude unkind horrible person. My wife and I were parking in the handicap spot in front of his liquor store to go to The Pan for breakfast. I am handicapped with major knee reconstruction due to cancer. As soon as I exited my car, he demanded we move our car just because the parking lot is too full from the breakfast spot across from him. I the had to park more than a block away! Luckily I'm not in a wheel chair and can walk (with a limp). I can't imagine how awful a person he is if he does the same to people that are more immobile than me. There are a lot of places to buy craft beer now in Long Beach. It used to only be 2 (Stearns and Cal Height Market). Those 2 along with Corked now have the monopoly in the area. Liquor Land has done a lot in recently to build their own "beer cave." In addition to a great selection, I would say they have the best, hands down, single beer assortment available (outside of Total Wine). This is good for someone who wants to buy and try single bottles and cans at a time. I also like their very friendly service and "punch card." Yes, punch card as in the type you get a coffee shops. Spend "xx" amount and get $15 off your purchase. I think I will be foregoing the other places for this one for the time being. read more

My girlfriend and I go to this liquor store fairly regularly and decided to pop in today to grab a few things. We got a 12 pack of modelo a bottle of wine and a bottle of new Amsterdam vodka (fyi the filtering on new Amsterdam is supposed to be the same as ciroc) and head out. Nick who was tending to the register decided to bag the bottle in the worst plastic bag known to man and we tried to just cradle the bottles to avoid catastrophe but the second we unload at home the bag tares apart despite our efforts and the bottles break everywhere. Okay okay well let's clean up head back explain what happened and see if there's anything they can do for us considering we come here all the time. Upon return the guy nick is extremely rude I mean extreme! Tells us there's nothing he can do.. I mean realistically I take half the fault for it but the least he could do is offer us a discount on another bottle, apologize for the terrible bagging and provide some decent customer service. Nope. This guy is adamant that we are trying to rip him off or something and we literally brought back the bottles we swept up and the shitty plastic bag too. I mean truly the worst customer service we have experienced in a long long time. I have never even given a one star review before. So the best we can hope for is the store manager will be in tomorrow and after my gf called him agreed he would try to do something about it. I mean normally a cheap bottle of vodka and a bottle of wine wouldn't warrant all this effort but the horrendous customer service just got to us. So an update will ensue. Went to my local liquor store and bought a bottle of vodka, bottle of pinot noir and a 12 pack of beer for a nice relaxing movie night. Bottles were packed in one of those thin see through plastic bags but i figure ill cradle them in my arms like a newborn baby. Get home and my girlfriend grabs the case of modelo and i grab the bottles. Even cradling the bottles fall through the bag and shatter everywhere. Im drenched in vodka and wine. It really sucks. So we sweep everything up and put the broken bottle bits in a box and bring the broken bag back to liquorland. I see the guy at the counter, Nick and tell him the story and the first thing he does is say that the bag looks like i ripped it. Im like i assure you i didnt and proceed to show him the box of the bottles i purchased no less than 5 minutes ago. He tells me people break there bottles all the time in the parking lot and here im like isnt that an indication that your bags are pretty shitty?! Then he takes two bottles of skyy vodka in a bag and does a whirlwind like move and says it didnt break. There was a big hole forming at the bottom of the bag though and im like im not saying every bag will break dude..just mine did. Finally after all this negative energy i ask to speak to the manager which after several times asking he finally gave me. Talk to the manager and finally a glimmer of hope. He said he will be in the store tomorrow and we can discuss everything. So ill update this review and rating after that convo. read more
