It's very clean and spacious on the inside with couch seating along with tables and chairs. It isn't loud but they did have some music playing. It's a good spot to chill at with family and or friends for a few glasses of wine. It's also a cool spot for a nice intimate date. Had the pleasure of tasting 4 different wines; 2 whites and 2 reds. I enjoyed the wines. You can bring your own snacks and charcuterie board. The hostess was very knowledgeable of the wines, sharing backstories of where and how they were produced. I bought a Groupon for a tasting and checked out the food menu ahead of time. I was so happy to find GF options as I have celiac disease and wanted to spend a nice Sunday afternoon with my son having lunch and wine. When we arrived we were told there was no chef so only a few items could be made from the menu. I chose a flatbread but was then told they had no gluten free bread. So we had to get the charcuterie which was so small and cost $30. Really ridiculous price for something with a few pieces of meat, cheese, grapes and nuts. The wine was good, and the tastings were generous and I know it is a wine bar but the day was really spoiled by not having a lunch there. I don't think I would go there again. If you do make sure they have a chef before you go if you want to eat. read more

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Delightful little wine bar with great service. The hubby and I came for a fundraiser for the LB film festival and we both thought it was a lovely little place. It was comfortable and casual, and seemed very popular with the locals. They didn't have a ton of vegetarian options, but we got the Baked Brie & jam with grilled bread and the Eggplant and Olive tapenade, also with grilled bread. I was excited to see escargots on the menu, but they were unfortunately out. We had glasses of a great red blend--alas, I didn't get the name. Service was friendly and prompt. We're not huge wine people but would definitely like to come back and try again on a regular night. read more

Overall a really cute and chill spot on Naples! I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for an impromptu tasting. The wine selection is a bit more limited than I would have expected, but not bad nonetheless. Wine is available by the glass, bottle, and flights, with the latter being more economical. I had a flight of whites, chosen for me- the Sancerre was uninteresting, but the Spanish blend and Italian 100% Chardonnay were both winners! There is a limited food menu on Sunday's but otherwise a good looking food menu for the rest of the week. The one star deduction was for service- I think he may have been new or perhaps a bit overwrought as the only person on service. I was never told about food options, and he kept his distance from the customers. But I'd still recommend you stop by, perhaps on another day besides Sunday. read more

Elena runs a very professional operation. For the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th tastings, she presented each bottle with its label, which added helpful context and reinforced the thoughtful pace of the evening. Even at 7 PM on a quiet Sunday, with only a couple of parties and her running the room solo, the service never felt rushed. If Elena is an employee and not part of the owner's family, she deserves recognition, her dedication shows. The ambiance is understated but intentional, driven more by lighting and seating than decor. It's a place where conversation flows easily and the night slows down in a good way. What a fabulous find! My wife and I tried out 'Wine on 2nd' for the first time this past Saturday. Tucked inconspicuously in a corner, it opens up into a nice spacious wine bar space with leather couches, regular dining tables, and cool wine bottle art on the wall walls. My wife had bought an online special offer that had us try this cool wine bar out. The owner, Theodore, personally brought over each of the four flights of wines that were part of the special. He described the variety, and was super gracious in asking us how we liked each offering. The food was outstanding! Hands-down, one of the best beef carpaccio's that we have had in all of the Long Beach and surrounding areas. Instead of a paper-thin slice like many other locations, it was a more generous slice that still melted in your mouth with a few delicate bites. The goat cheese Brie was delightful. As well as the garlic, red-wine basted escargot. We also enjoyed the bruschetta which was yummy and had a very nice mashed tomato jelly on top of the cheese spread. If you're looking for a nice date night spot for Valentines, or to relax and enjoy a casual ambience for a connected conversation, I absolutely recommend going to Wine on 2nd. We have tried other wine bars from the Wilmore on Atlantic, to the boulangerie on Main Street in Seal Beach, as well as the wine bars in downtown Long Beach, and this one definitely places itself as one of the better wine bars you should absolutely try. I was searching for a wine bar that served old world wines as their tasting flight & got lucky to find this spot! Ambiance is small & was not so busy for a Saturday afternoon. Service was great! My husband & I got seated right away. The owner was friendly & put us together a white & a red flight from the old world. The wines served were from light to full bodied & they all tasted good! I must say the bottle price for the reds were pricey so we didn't make a purchase this time but maybe in the future for a special occasion. The wine list also includes new world wines but the list of wine in general wasn't huge but I was satisfied with the quality of the wines we had. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and were the only 2 patrons for the hour. It's located in the right corner of the plaza next to Flavor of Punjabi. The place is spacious and clean with low and high tables, a great place to enjoy some wine with a small group of friends. We ordered a flight and were torn between the white or red, so our server was kind enough to offer a mix and match, so we did! A white Pinot and 2 reds, a Malbec and a French blend, for $18. The wines were alright; I'd get the white again but not the others because they tasted sour.. We also ordered food, a beef carpaccio salad and ny steak roll. I'm not a fan of raw meet so I can't review it, but my partner loved the beef carpaccio. I, on the other hand, enjoyed the ny steak roll that was over a bed of greens with red onion, cherry tomatoes, and basalmic vinegarette. Ok this is probably my new favorite wine bar in Long Beach. We met Elena upon entering and she was very friendly and explained their flights. Our server, Tara, was really nice and knowledgeable about wine. Every single wine we had has been wonderful. We each ordered a flight. My husband got one with Pinot noir, merlot, and cab sauv. I got a Chianti, Malbec, and Zin. I also got a glass of rosé, which was equally delicious. Each wine we had was really great. They gave us breadsticks to munch on while we sipped our wine, and we had a chocolate cake for dessert. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, and they allow dogs outside. My friend and I went there because I had purchased a Groupon that was about to expire. The server seemed friendly, the tasting room was cute, the appetizer we ordered was tasty, and the first three wine tastings were pretty nice. We were having a great time until the server brought the bill before bringing out the 4th tasting. When I asked him for the last wine, he said that he had given us all four. He had not, but my friend laughed it off and said, "Oh, I'm sure people lose count all the time, right?" He looked at her and said, "No, they don't." Then he turned and walked away without another word. When my friend and I reviewed the menu, she, too, realized the server had skipped the third tasting. Because it was a Groupon, I didn't put up more of a stink. We left a tip based on what the bill would have been because I figured the server confused us with another couple who had come in with their Groupon right after us. I wouldn't have even left a bad Yelp review if he hadn't been so rude about the whole situation. Upon reflection, I wish I hadn't left a tip at all. Wine on 2nd is now on my "No go" list. Thankfully, there are plenty of great tasting rooms around Long Beach. If Wine on 2nd is going to make it, they'd better work on their table-side manner. read more

Well I'm naming this place 'No Wine on 2nd'! We walked in, sat down and ordered the Rioja. The man said he was out of Rioja. Then we ordered the Malbec. The man said he was out of the Malbec. Then we ordered the Chianti. The man said he was out of the Chianti. By this time I am thinking that they either don't like us or have one hell of an inventory problem.
