Wife and I came by here one time when my son was months old. We decided to go in and get a glass of wine just to see how it was. They kicked us out immediately. A list minute visit with friend for a glass of wine was needed. I stopped in for a quick visit and quite surprised how cute this place is. There's a small patio right infront of the main area inside. Their wine selection was quite impressive. So much things to choose from. Not only wine, but they also have beer on tap available. I stopped in half an hour before they closed and it was still pretty busy. They have a tasting menu is you were into sampling some wine. What was offered for the tasting menu was quite nice. I think there's only a flight of 3 and the selection was quite nice. One was bold which was really nice. Also, the beer on tap was great. I believe that you could be members of the place as we noticed the orders for pickup. It's quite a nice cool spot for tasting. The main bar area was nice, service was great and friendly. Visited Willmore Wine Bar as a solo date last Saturday evening. Parking was surprisingly open and available on the street directly in front of the establishment. The inside is cozy, with both table seating available (for normal sized groups- 2, 4, mayyybe 6 ppl) as well as bar seating (where I was seated). It's easy to pick up on the fact that this is a favorite local spot, with the owner and staff immediately recognizing several patrons by name upon arrival (I was envious! lol) The wine selection is impressive, and they have a simple menu of a few Sammie's, salads, and appetizers such as cheese boards, baked pretzel, and other items. Along with my glass of Malbec, I enjoyed a cheese board and quite possibly the BEST Caesar salad with chicken I've had in a decade or more! Dietrich was tending bar, and while not extremely well versed in wines (which he admitted openly), he was knowledgeable enough to pull solid suggestions based on your taste/preference. He was warm and friendly (and busy!). The owner was present the whole evening as well, and though I tried to engage, he didn't seem very interested in making chat with a non-regular like me lol. (It's ok!) There was a guitarist, which added vibes, but mostly just noise...his speakers were very loud, and the selection felt a little out of place. I would've stayed longer than the hour I did, if the music were a little lower and enjoyable (maybe jazz or something?). Went here for a holiday get together and it was awesome. I'm not too familiar with Long Beach bars, so I'm happy my friends planned something here. We had most of the back area for our group, and there were definitely other groups celebrating different things this night. It's a smaller wine bar, but it has a big heart. The hubs and I were wandering around Bixby Knolls and found this excellent wine bar. Upon entering, we were greeted by a two-man band playing classic rock hits. It set a great mood for our date night. We sat ourselves by at the bar and ordered a couple of drinks and nibbles. The regulars are incredibly friendly, and without any TVs, the space fosters great conversations. The staff--Ernie, Jessie, Ariel, and Mary in the kitchen--are amazing and truly enhance the experience. I did not take my phone out once while there which feels like a good experience. Fellow patrons seemed there for conversation and wine which gave it a very European vibe. Had charcuterie plate and the monthly wine flight. The cheeses were great and the meats as well. I always run out of crackers but that's because I have to eat a couple plain crackers to clear my palette between cheeses and wines lol. The flight was one Italian white and one California red and an Italian Chianti. All good wines. Definitely will go back again. They have a wine club going as well $65ish for two bottles a month and a pickup party that includes heavy apps and a glass of wine not from your selection that month. My husband and I dined at a restaurant across the street last Saturday and we figured we had to stop by here for a nightcap. When we walked in, we weren't prepared for how small it is. Bar to the right and seating to the left with additional seating in the back. Oh, and seating outside with heat lamps. Even though it is small, we found it to be cozy. The place was packed and we were lucky to find the last table for 2 right next to the piano. There was live music that night. Man on guitar and woman on the piano and they played their own renditions of 80's songs. Love the place already! Menus were brought to our table and they had a bit of everything. They had reds, whites, sparkling wines, beer and even non-alcoholic beverages. You could even order food which was nice. We just got "snacks" since we had just come from dinner. We enjoyed a cute, yummy complementary cheese plate. Got to do a small wine tasting, and met Sarah, and Ariel.
