Waters were delivered and asked if we would like anything else to drink other then water. Ordered a White wine and Red Sangria. Alcoholic Beverages were delivered and they both were so refreshing. For our main entrees, we ordered a Ceasar Salad and Walnut Salat with balsamic vinegar sauce. All was delivered and all was very good or should I say delicious! A couple of hours goes by with good conversation and great beverages. Our waiter continues to assist us on any needs we have. Kudos to our Waiter Elias! He did an exceptional job. This is my go-to spot in the Bixby Knolls area. I was told they have a new management team that recently took over this establishment. I could have not noticed since the service has always been immaculate. A restaurant that is in the nice area of town. You can't go wrong coming here. For business or just being socially casual for pleasure, this place fits the ambiance. Plenty of parking on the street. Good foods and great service right here. read more

Happy hour? M-F until 7:00. World Cup specials... cool. I thought I'd try this place again for First Friday. Once again, disappointed! A club sandwich with one (yes, one!) slice of turkey. Two slices of bacon. On sourdough and shredded lettuce. The portions are smaller than before. Quality less. Service ... just ok. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Please .... I went to Knolls Restaurant in Long Beach on 05/05/26 for lunch. To my surprise the restaurant looked like an upscale restaurant inside. The ambiance was great. There was indoor and outdoor seating. The food was good. My husband loved his Braised Short Rib Grilled Cheese & Garlic Fries. The Thai Sweet Chili & Lemon Pepper Wings appetizer along with my Signature Cobb Salad was ok. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Good customer service. Parking is not that great. Be patient , you might have to circle the block. I recommend his restaurant. Omg this is probably the home of the best steak I've ever had. It was soooooooo delicious. TTJ: Tender, Tasty and Juicy!!! If I could afford it I'd eat here twice a day, 7 days a week and just eat steak. The service was great. I believe they are under new management from what we're told. There's street parking or a little lot in the rear. Inside was well light but still felt intimate. Restroom was clean. Come here if you want a real good steak for a good price. read more

Came out for Happy Hour at Knolls and this was my second time visiting. Amazing service and experience from Sydney who was upbeat and friendly. I had the Korean Tacos and chicken wings. The Korean steak tacos were spicy enough for me, as is, so I'm glad I opted to get the added Sriracha sauce on the side. The tacos were good but my favorite were the chicken wings, which were absolutely the star for me. There are various sauces you can choose from and I got the Thai chile, with the size being impressive (not some small one-bite wings). They were more on the sweet side than spicy, which I prefer. Prepare to get a lot of napkins because they are sauced up! I also ordered two margaritas: Blackberry, and Spicy cucumber. There are many flavors to choose from and you can choose your rim preference: sugar, Tajin or salt. I was also told by Sydney all the fruit juices are made fresh, with exception of the mango margarita. This restaurant is dog friendly and they have an outdoor seating area as well. Overall, Knolls was another wonderful experience and I will continue coming back when I'm in town. read more

Visited Knolls on a Sunday afternoon with a friend. Dining room was wide open, with no wait and we were seated immediately. The dining room is quite spacious, with many tables and clean. One bit of constructive feedback is that upon arrival, the staff was engaged in conversation with one another involved the use of F bombs, and quite loud (a person at the end of the bar speaking loudly enough to reach the other at the other end of the bar). This was off putting for me. I swear I'm not a prude... Our server was friendly, and though not overly attentive- seated us, took our order, and brought our check out. There was no check in during our meal. Music selection was good (not too loud for conversation at your table), and there are TVs up that had sports games on, for those interested. Now, for the food: I ordered the chicken and Brie sandwich. Decent sandwich, though it seemed like it would have benefit from a touch of sweetness. I was surprised by the avocado that came on the sandwich, as it's not mentioned on the menu. Good thing I like avocado! I ordered a salad for the side, and was pleased with the quality and taste of the ingredients. My friend ordered the BLT with fries. While she enjoyed the sandwich overall, she too was surprised by the avocado on the sandwich (also not listed on the menu). She does NOT like avocado, so this was a bit of a bummer for her...MORE AVOCADO FOR ME! The fries were super good- crisp and tasty. Neither one of us ordered any drinks besides water on this visit, but would like to try the bar next time. Value for the dollar was great- spent about $20 per person all in (tax/tip). It was hard to peg down what the actual "vibe" of this restaurant is. May visit again on a Friday or Saturday night to see if the environment is more lively than it was on our visit. Overall, I would say that this is a decent restaurant to grab lunch when you're not craving anything in particular and don't want to wait or drive deeper into the city. 3.5 stars, would visit again. read more

You ever just drive by a spot and say, "one day I'm a go in there!" Well y'all my one day was yesterday! So for the 3 of you who read my reviews know I'm on this vegetarian journey but lately I've been adding fish to my diet. Last night was again one of those nights. But lemme tell it wasn't a "planned" pescatarian night but our waitress convinced me otherwise. After a nail spa day with moms and my sister I was starvin! So sis recommended Knolls saying she's been there once and it was decent. Since we drove separately I happened to arrive first. Honestly I thought they were closed but I noticed people inside. Got a table for 3 and sat down. First impressions - beautiful restaurant. The ambiance was great! Best part....the music. They were playing Motown. I would have just had a glass of water for the music alone!!! Mom and sis arrived shortly after and our waitress, Emma, greeted us with a smile and energy that was relatable. It was like talking to my cousin!!! She gave us the rundown of the menu, answered all of our questions and shared her experience of the restaurant. It was cold outside so I ordered a hot apple cider (like tell me who is selling that right now) with a shot of whisky. It truly hit the spot!!!! I asked for chicken piccata without the chicken and she recommended salmon instead and that's what I ordered! It came on rice with asparagus. Mom had chicken noodle soup and sis did the chicken potstickers and a slice of cheesecake. ....pause cuz I'm reminiscing on my salmon......it was so good! They grilled it to perfection and topped it with piccata sauce with capers and fried green onions. When I tell you that's about to be my fav spot for salmon now!!! The rice was amazingly prepared; buttery and light. The asparagus was pure perfection. Mom enjoyed her soup and took some home. Sis said her potstickers were fantastic and she enjoyed her cheesecake. Here's what stood out for me. Customer service - Emma spoke so highly of the restaurant my mom said, "she presented the restaurant like it was her own!" That's what will keep your customers coming back. From the host to the bartender everyone had great personalities. Emma even recommended the brunch which I'll be definitely going back for! First time trying it. Had the ahi poke with mango and avocado. Really tasty. Loved the modern look of the place and portraits of famous people. My friend had the boom boom shrimp and brussel sprouts. They have a great happy hour! $10 margaritas and mules, nine dollar glasses of wine and seven dollar beers. My margarita was a little bit too sweet I had to and got more of a headache than a buzz. We got the pow shrimp, which were great. Came with seven pieces and they were a good size piece of shrimp. Then we got the three sliders with garlic fries. They were just OK. The vibe is really great here, though, sometimes they have live music and I love the patio seating! It's a very calm, classy place. I would consider bringing a date here for sure! Easy street parking everywhere. The bathrooms were clean. I do wish there was a hook on the back of the door to hang my purse but all in all it's a great place and I would go back. I would just get a glass of wine for happy hour next time.. the service was a little slow. I did have to ask for my waitress quite a few times however she was serving a large party so maybe that's why. We are going to get another drink, but it took her so long to get back to our table. This is, I believe, number eight in my Bixby Knolls weekly lunch with my bonus son, who is the local UPS driver. This is what we had... Asian chopped chicken salad,- B. The salad was fresh with plenty of chicken. The dressing was tasty and a little thicker than I'm used to. Korean steak tacos,- A+. I could've eaten eight of them on a good day. They are small but mighty. There are three in an order. The steak was well prepared and tender. Philly steak sandwich with garlic fries, B+. I didn't taste the actual sandwich, but was told it was very good. I did try the fries and there was lots of good garlic on there. The garlic was buttery yet crunchy. I had a beer while I was waiting. It was a Dogfish IPA,- A. I don't know which IPA it was but it was refreshing. The staff who took my order was Pam R. She was friendly and efficient, even though the place was busy and it seemed like she was the only server. There's a great bar inside and quite a bit of seating. There is patio seating as well where you can watch Atlantic Avenue go by. I can see how this would be a regular place for locals. read more

Went to a BMW model reveal at Long Beach BMW which usually consists of a dinner buffet with open bar (gratis); however, this time it was just hor deurves so we busted that joint and I found this gem via Google... Restaurant was packed so we opted to sit outside where there was plenty of seating but no working heat lamp (was starting to get chilly). We were promptly greeted and served. Made it in time for happy hour so had the hummus app and a couple glass of house cab (both delish). I ordered the turkey brie and pear sandwich with a side salad and vin for my entree and my BFF ordered the cuban sandwich with fries. Both were very good and good sized portions! Did not opt for dessert as we were too full. Definitely a fun, classy yet casual place and would love to patronize this place again! read more

Went there for lunch with a friend who worked close by. The ambience is like a gastro-pub and the service was friendly, though stretched a little thin. She did the best she could juggling all the table just about. I had a burger and it was DELICIOUS! Garlic fries were just as good. I'd go back again and I'd order the same thing. It was prepared just the way I like it, which isn't always the case, because I like my burgers REALLY rare and they had the confidence in their meat to do that for me. read more

Zero follow-up during the meal, and we couldn't even get the check because he was outside talking to other people. Another waitress ended up clearing our table, not even our server. The worst Mother's Day lunch experience. I've been here a couple of times before, but this was by far the worst experience. The restaurant was clearly understaffed, and unfortunately my mother ended up having a terrible lunch on what was supposed to be her special day. First, it took an extremely long time just for our order to be taken. Then, after ordering, the food took forever to arrive. To make matters worse, other parties who were seated after us were served before we were. It honestly made us feel overlooked and discriminated against. While waiting, I went to the restroom and noticed there was no hand soap available, which was very disappointing. Finally, when our food did arrive, it was cold. First and foremost, the atmosphere and service was wonderful! Me and my husband went there for an early date night supper. I ordered the steak Diane, which, while the steak was a little overcooked it was still very tender and the flavor was amazing so they get a 9/10. Now my husband ordered the Diablo Chicken. That on the other hand was not what we expected. It was basically half the chicken drowning in a vinegar forward buffalo sauce. We expected more of a spicy garlic flavorful sauce. Not a giant chicken wing. It should really be renamed buffalo chicken as it is very deceiving. And because you are paying for a full dinner it really wasn't worth it nor would I I suggest ordering it. read more

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Upscale-casual eatery with nice variety and friendly staff. Met up for an early dinner with some friends and we had a great time. One of the friends lives in the area and is a regular, so he suggested the spot. I was a bit early so got a house Sauvignon Blanc at the bar while waiting for the rest of the party. Once everyone arrived and were seated, I got a cheese quesadilla and the shrimp and crab ceviche. The tortilla chips were perfect for scooping up the ceviche--not too thick or thin. The cheese quesadilla was fine, but nothing spectacular. I forget what everyone else had but w they all enjoyed their food as well. Stopped in on a Wednesday night. They have TVs to watch sporting events. Indoor, outdoor and bar seating. Since this was a very late dinner, it was not crowded. The server was very friendly and checked on us frequently. The Lobster Max and cheese was a little bland for my taste( needed the addition of salt and pepper). The garlic fries were AMAZING and made with real garlic. The turkey sandwich was also good and even better the next day ( couldn't eat the whole sandwich). Street parking is available on Atlantic and neighboring side street. I will defiantly return during their happy hour 4-7pm. read more

Mixed Feelings -- Used to Be a Favorite Spot, but Last Visit Was Disappointing My husband and I have been coming here for quite a while, mainly because we've always enjoyed their happy hour (2-7 PM). They offer $10 drinks and a decent selection of food options during that time, which used to make it a great value. I also joined their rewards program early on, and I appreciated how easy it was to rack up points--one visit could earn you up to $6 off your next bill. Unfortunately, our most recent visit on 6/11 was a major letdown. First off, we noticed that they had removed a lot of the food items from the happy hour menu, which was already a bummer. But what really frustrated us was learning that you can now only access happy hour drink pricing if you're seated at the bar. We had our two young kids with us, so that wasn't an option--and frankly, it felt like a strange and inconvenient change. Our server came by and let us know about the new policy. We went ahead and ordered regular drinks, plus a kids' meal for our daughter while we continued looking at the menu. After that, the server never came back to take our order. Our daughter's food (two sliders with fries) took about 30 minutes to come out, and when it did, the fries were cold. We asked for a fresh batch, and while they did bring new ones, they didn't taste fresh at all--like the cold ones had just been thrown back in the fryer. They were greasy, soft, and had that unpleasant chalky crunch. When it came time to pay, I asked to enter my phone number for the rewards program. The person helping us said it would automatically link through my debit card--but I had just received a new card from my bank, so it didn't work. She didn't offer to look up my account via phone number or email, even though that's how I originally signed up. So I missed out on the points, and a discount on our bill. Overall, this used to be a go-to spot for us, but the recent changes to their menu, policies, and the lack of attentiveness during our visit have made us reconsider. I am beyond dissatisfied! I ordered salmon dinner. Salmon was over cooked ! Sent it back and it came back worst! No flavor and hard! I've been here several times and at this point I'm not sure about eating dinner here. Lunch is better. My daughter had fish n chips. Her fish was bad too! No salt and taste like pure cooking oil. Aps ordered first and then a bit later we placed the food order. Chile (food order) and apps arrived. Then other meals arrived at different times. Asking for water refills were slow or forgotten. The food tasted good. (Chile, BBQ pork sliders, kobe burger, quesadilla) We're usually never in a rush as we visit during our time, but just odd on how the food came out. The place has a good vibe and plays decent music not so load you can't hear each other. 4-stars for how long the food took. read more

They have changed their menu radically and I'm not sure I will ever go back. I used to go there regularly, but I am so disappointed with all the changes. The manager seems to think blue cheese and Gorgonzola are the same cheese. And he was trained as a chef! What an idiot. Gorgonzola is "Italian Blue Cheese". The decor is nice, it is very spacious and never seems too busy. The cocktail menu has lots of interesting options, so for drinks I recommend dropping by. But both times I've been here I've been very underwhelmed by the food. The menu is pretty standard pub food where the fried items taste like breading and only the dipping sauces have any flavor. The staff is friendly and they do have TVs if you want to sit at the bar for a game. Or if you have a large group and need enough room for everyone, this could be a good option. read more
