By far the best crunchy tacos in my area! I can eat them everyday! Some days they have $1 taco during certain times as well. My favorite is ground beef, shredded beef and chicken!!!! Yummmmmy. I try to come early now because some days are super busy and packed with people. This is definitely a good dive bar. Neighborhood friend. Diverse with some culture and I love that! Nice size and even has 2 pool tables. I can't wait to go back! Love this spot! Owner is nice as well

**5 Stars - "Mexican Pizza with a Shot of Sass!"** If you're not spending your nights at **Lonas City Limits**, you're seriously depriving yourself of the 8th wonder of the world: **Joanna**, aka **Mexican Pizza** -- because she's double-stacked, spicy, and absolutely impossible to forget. This woman is built like your dreams and talks like your mom *if she grew up in East L.A. with a tequila habit and zero tolerance for weak game*. She's got curves that make gravity work overtime and a tongue sharper than your bar tab at 2am. Joanna served me a whiskey neat, rolled her eyes at my dad joke, and somehow made me feel both loved and roasted alive -- all in one sip. She's got that perfect blend of sass and sweetness, like a margarita with chili salt on the rim and a sucker punch hidden underneath. Feisty? Yes. Sarcastic? God yes. Cute? She's what happens when cute grows up, goes to bartending school, and learns to juggle limes and hearts. Every time she called me "honey" I forgot what I ordered and remembered I was lucky to be alive. **Come for the drinks. Stay for the Mexican Pizza.** And if you try to start drama, just know: she folds clowns like napkins. 10/10 would let her judge me again.

I've visited this establishment a handful of times in the past and never had an issue until my last visit Wednesday night. My mom and I arrived before the afternoon to night shift change and there was a very friendly bartender who served us our first round of draft beers as well as our appetizers we ordered. I didn't get her name but shout-out to her for providing exceptional service! For bar food standards their appetizers are actually pretty alright, my mom ordered spicy buffalo wings and I ordered chicken nachos, so far so good. After the shift change I proceeded to get our next round and the next bartender of the night, Albert, already had somewhat of an attitude. I understand how difficult it can be working customer service jobs but you shouldn't openly exhibit how much you don't enjoy your form of employment as it makes consumers feel quite unwelcome. Before serving me he weirdly questioned where and with which group I was seated which I found quite odd. I proceeded to explain I was seated in the corner with my mother, just a group of 2. While waiting on my beverages I had a conversation with a senior regular and I offered to buy him a beverage on the house. When I requested this to the bartender he rudely said, "you're a sucker" and laughed it off while serving us. This remark left quite a bitter taste in my mouth so upon ordering my last round I harmlessly asked if there's any way I can get in contact with his employer, Lona. He asked why and I simply stated that I didn't appreciate his unnecessary remark. I shouldn't even have requested this as he then closed my tab and said he refused to give me any service and instead handed me a water cup. I was honestly quite flabbergasted and humiliated as there was a full bar-top of civilians listening to this interaction. The following day I got into contact with the owner of the establishment. Although she defended her employee and tried to justify his behavior, she gave me an apology on his behalf which I greatly appreciated. I will not slander this establishment due to just one bad apple that she employs however I will suggest to my fellow consumers to steer clear of this bar if that man, Albert, is on shift as he's extremely unprofessional and gives this fine local dive bar an overall bad look. I personally don't think I'd come back in the future as I left feeling quite upset and humiliated but take your risk coming to this establishment, perhaps you'll come on a good day where he isn't working and you'll have an awesome experience.

Lona's is HQ of our monthly breakfast club, Ashley is a doll, couldn't be more timely & helpful. Their breakfast menu is both very solid with egg, omelette and other staples, and reasonably priced. Good people, great service, undervalued imo.

7.50 for a pint, pool table, tons of sports TVs and a juke box. Didn't try the food this visit but plenty of good beers on tap and a full bar as well. Bartender quick and attentive to your needs. Cool dive vibe but clean and a good crowd even on a Wednesday afternoon.

What I really appreciate is that sometimes it's even kid-friendly, which makes it a great option if you're not just going out solo or with friends. I've been coming around since back when it was Iguana Kelly's, and it's been cool to see how the place has evolved while still keeping that local, neighborhood feel. The location is super easy to find, right next to a donut shop and a mechanic, and across the street you've got a 7-Eleven, Subway, and a few other small spots. Plus, Tommy's Burgers and an Arco are right nearby, so everything you might need is within reach. I tried both the cucumber mixed drink and the mango mixed drink, both were really good, but I personally preferred the cucumber one. It's less sweet and way more refreshing, especially if you're not into overly sugary drinks. We also had a BBQ chicken pizza that they cook in a fire oven (I think it's called a wood-fired pizza), and it was really good, definitely worth trying if you go. Service was good During the outdoor event, they had things set up really well, including a sign that read "21 and over beyond this point only," which helped keep things organized. They also had jumpers outside for the little ones to enjoy, along with tables and chairs so everyone could hang out comfortably. Parking can be a bit tight in their lot, but there's always street parking if you take a minute to read the signs. Overall, it's a great hangout spot with a welcoming atmosphere and something happening more often than not. Definitely worth checking out.

Unfortunately we found a fruit fly frozen into our ice, which I figure can happen at busy places like this. Many indoor spots to chill bar-side, seated at a table, or lounging on a couch as well as a nice shaded outdoor space. Enough screens for everyone at any angle to enjoy the game. Though we had to re-locate from the side room due to maintenance services going on that were a bit dusty and loud. All things considered, I'd come back to give it another try because it seems like a really solid spot otherwise, and we may have caught it on an off day.

Restaurant is packed, so place resos if possible. Food here is absolutely delicious. Notable dishes for me are the Pad See Ew with the giant shrimp and the Salmon Larb. Pad See ew had such a good wok fry essence. So flavorful, and perfect blend of savory and slight sweetness. Chinese broccoli nicely wok fried. The shrimp was jumbo and so succulent. Salmon Larb was perfectly cooked with fried cubes of juicy flavorful salmon. Tossed in fresh mint, cilantro, scallions, a ton of fresh lime juice, chili flakes, red onions and lettuce. The toasted rice powder was definitely apparent as every Larb dish should have. Slightly different take of Larb, bit more modernized and tweaked cause definitely a salad with the lettuce versus served with the cabbage and cucumber on the side. I don't think you can go wrong with what you order. Definitely fusion of authentic with a modernized American feel. Cocktails were excellent and recommend their Tamarind Spicy drink, don't remember the name but it was so good. Unfortunately no photos cause we weee hungry and just cleared out the food as it came out. Service is straight forward. We got what we needed with a bit wait due to the fact the place is BUSY!

Normally on a Wednesday night or a Sunday as it was karaoke. The fun nights were had way back when. It's still the same fun old place but with a little revamp from the early 2000 when it was a frequent place with the college kids for drinks and karaoke. The crowd from the coffee shop down the street would end their nights here with cocktails and singing. A fun neighborhood dive bar. There's still security at the front checking ID's. Seems like regardless whatever your age is, they ask. Inside you have the retro fun vibe. Of course everyone is there for the same reason, a fun night. Bar is right when you walk in. Normally there's two bartenders on the busy nights but often you just see one. Inside has a good amount of seating but outside patio seating seemed to be alway lively. There's loads of seating out there. The fun twinkling lights and nice lush plants gives it a cool tropical feel hidden in Long Beach. I did notice a lot of people bringing food in especially pizza which was from across the street. Didn't know you could Uber Eats things here but clearly you can. Dinks is always good from my experience. Reasonable price which brings the crowd in. The only thing that sucks, the restroom situation. There's two on either side which does get pretty busy with a line as it's one per person and it's alway dirty. Don't know if anyone goes in there to clean during the nightly hours. Overall, the crowd is alway fun and lively. The last two times I've been I did noticed that it's still the college crew crowd as when I used to come in the early 2000. A more younger crowd, somewhat hipsters vibe. Depending on what day you visit, there's some kind of something going in. It's a fun dive bar that's alway fun for drink. Very casual.

We parked in the multi-story parking garage behind Hamburger Mary's. Secret Island is a little over a block away. You can make reservations on OpenTable. It has a bit of a speakeasy entrance, as it is not plainly marked. Look for the staircase going down with greenery around it and the Secret Island sign downstairs. Go right at the bottom of the stairs and there is a little walkway where you see a very cool tiki display. It you stay there long enough, the lights will flash and you will hear thunder. Walk a little further and go through the door to enter. I was blown away by the atmosphere and build. Kudos to Bamboo Ben! It is dimly lit with a ton of cave wall, bamboo, thatch, netting, tiki lights, floats, skulls, tikis, and other décor. The bar is loaded with bottles and looks great with dark blue and green backlighting. The bar top is wood with deep cutouts that are filled with clear epoxy. The booths in the main dining area are little tiki huts and even have clouds overhead. There was great tiki music playing the whole time. A few times an hour a thunderstorm hits. The lights dim, lightning flashes with thunder sound effects, and red lights illuminate cracks in the floor that looks like lava veins. There is also a photo-op "Pele's Throne" which is a big lava rock surrounded chair. We sat at the bar and had the coconut shrimp appetizer ($12). The shrimp were breaded and cooked well, and had a coconut sprinkle on top. The spicy dipping sauce complemented the shrimp well. I started out with the Drunken Monkey (Makers Mark 46, Jamaican rum, banana liqueur, cinnamon, allspice, Angostura bitters, normally $19, $17 during happy hour). It was somewhat bourbon forward with a little funk from the Jamaican rum. I definitely got the cinnamon notes with a little banana and allspice in the background. She started out with the El Capitan Hook (Del Maguey mezcal, pineapple, banana liqueur, Luxardo cherry liqueur, lime, $17, $15 during happy hour). This was smoke forward with light pineapple and banana flavor. I had the Hula burger ($18) which was very good with a lot of different flavors from the various toppings. It came with a decent amount of fries, and was a filling plate. She had the pineapple bowl fried rice and added with BBQ pork ($17 + $5 for pork add-on). It is served in half of a scooped out pineapple and had a good amount of rice with pork and green onions on top. It had a good mix of teriyaki sauce on the rice and BBQ sauce on the pork. Next, I had the Rum Runner (coconut and blended dark rums, banana liqueur, raspberry, grenadine, pineapple, orange, lime, $18, $15 during happy hour). It was very pineapple and coconut forward which overpowered all of the other ingredients. She also had the Let That ManGo (white rhum agricole, coconut, mango, lemon, $18, $16 during happy hour). The primary flavors here were mango with some grassiness from the agricole. We were here from about 6pm to 8pm on a Wednesday night and it was pretty dead with only a few other people in the place the whole time. They do have a stage in the back with live music acts, so it is probably busier when there is entertainment and on weekends. Our first bartender was Alex who was nice but we barely talked with him. Manager Pedro took over the bartender duties later on and we had a great time chatting with him. Service was great from both of them. The drinks are a few dollars above average, but if you come during happy hour, the drinks are several dollars off. Happy hour is currently all day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday, and Thursday through Saturday from 5pm to 8pm. The food was good, the drinks were ok to good, and the atmosphere was great. Normally, this would probably be a one and done, but I really liked the build and would like to come back when it is busier, maybe on a weekend.
