I am a frequent regular and I highly recommend this place! I have yet to try their brunch, but I hope to soon. The wait staff is incredibly friendly and the food is always amazing. The taco Tuesday deal is pretty great! I find myself there quite a bit! Also, the margaritas and other drinks are really good. I finally branched out on a non-taco Tuesday day and the butternut squash enchiladas, and the yellowtail ceviche were incredible..... like to die for. The Lola's margarita is always a hit. Probably one of my favorite margaritas --it's a classic. I recommend the patio area in the back when it's open, but during the heat and the inevitable bug problem that happens during the summer I would suggest sitting inside. read more

Spectacular Mexican food! I'm so glad TikTok recommended this place because I may have never stumbled upon it otherwise! I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The wait was well worth it because each dish offered an explosion of flavors. My favorite dish was the birria, with the salmon ceviche as a close second. The mole was great too, but I'd say the other two dishes were more memorable and something I'd return for. I can't recommend the birria enough, as the flavors were reminiscent of what I've had in Mexico, very authentic. The space is small and can feel a bit tight, but sometimes the best food comes from these types of "hole in the wall" places. Ultimately, I'd say give Lola's a try! Not impressed by anything we ordered, given the competition locally. I will drive to Acton, CA (124 miles round trip) for their chicken tortilla soup ... bringing back 3 quarts of it after our meal is done. The soup here lacks the tastebud awakening zip that Don Chato's has. The ono fish taco experience was my fault... I hate fried fish taco, so I had lofty expectations, but due to the fact that I do not prefer corn tortillas, guacamole or raw onions, led to much disappointment since It has all three. Totally my fault. The butternut enchilada was lacking in the expected savoriness... this is being polite. The potato taquito was okay... but I am not a taquito person, so if you are I would seriously encourage you to try it. The star of the table was the Mexican corn. It may not compete with Cornman in Lincoln Heights, but it was decent. I scraped off the onions and toppings on the ono tacos, put the fish on the flour tortillas that another person didn't want, and topped the fish with refried beans, street corn and a but if the chicken tortilla soup broth to make due. When you are driving more than 30 minutes for this experience, I think you would agree that it was less that a proper way to celebrate a birthday. Oh and if there isn't any street parking. It'll cost you about 9 bucks in the lot. I didn't use the restroom, so I cant review its cleanliness. Our waitress was flawless taking orders and delivering food The restaurant itself has a great layout and an outdoor courtyard complete with propane heaters and umbrellas - I loved that... but my favorite part was out front, no not the seating area in the former parking spaces, nope... it was the collapsed woman on the sidewalk, walking her dog with snot running out of her nose because she was huffing some aerosol can of whatever. Of all the times I've been here, it's alway been great. The service was amazing and the experience was all great. This visit, we stopped by during happy hour. It's normally taco Tuesday or dinner. It wasn't busy when we arrived. Mainly everyone was seated outside which we wanted a table as well. It took a while for someone to come out and clear and clean the table up. It was fine waiting but it was like did someone forget about us. Anyways. We got seated and then the waiting continued. After that the chips and salsa were brought out. Once we ordered the drinks it was easier to place everything together. Menu for happy hour is pretty limited. A few drinks and beer on drafts and for food, maybe 6 items on the menu. Went with an order of the street corn which was quite tasty. An order of the mole chicken nachos and the queso dip with barria. Out of the three, the queso dips and the street corn were great. Nachos were good but nothing really major. The flavors of everything were quite tasty. Dishes were 12.00 an item. For happy hour, it was decent and what we had was good. The service was pretty slow at the beginning. I drove and walked past this place many times and finally was able to tried it recently! We went during HH and got some drinks, which were yummy, they didn't skim on the liquor. We ordered a few burritos, which my friends all liked. I was able to taste them too and the salsa verde on the burrito was so so yummy! She was friendly and knowledgeable and gave good recommendations. We started with the Yellowtail Tuna ceviche and we were completely blown away by how flavorful it was. It is not apart of their regular menu and it won't be available long so get there and try it asap! My honey ordered the Bixby Burrito and she enjoyed it a lot. Taco Tuesday date night was so good! We got seated quick, our server was great and the tacos were so tasty. The chips and salsa are always good here, especially the "crack" salsa which this spot is known for. As for Taco Tuesday, we ordered the Drop Kick Tacos, Third Eye Blind Shrimp tacos, and a couple of the Mexican Coca Cola glazed carnitas tacos. You can't go wrong with any of these. The Dropkicks are potato tacos with chorizo and lots of yummy toppings. I'd definitely get them again. The TEB shrimp was also a winner and the carnitas were so flavorful. I visited Lola's on July 7th for the first time for a late lunch. I ordered the following (prices as of July 2025): Large Baja Salad ($14.95) + Grilled Chicken (+$4) - Surprisingly very tasty. I enjoyed my Baja salad and definitely recommend adding grilled chicken for extra protein. It comes with crispy romaine lettuce, black beans, avocado, pico de gallo, queso cotija, toasted heirloom corn, tortilla chips, and pepita like dressing. All the ingredients tasted flesh and complemented each other. It wasn't too salty but had just the right amount of flavor. Very delicious and I would recommend this. Jarritos Guava Soda ($14.75) - I enjoy drinking jarritos! I've tried other flavors but this was my first time trying the guava flavor. It didn't disappoint but the guava flavor is on the lighter side. Interior: This is a cute Mexican restaurant that is nicely decorated with tables inside. Customer Service: A sad miss. Our waitress was really nice and had some good recs when we ordered. However, although we came at an off time and there wasn't many patrons, it took some time to get everything from taking our orders, receiving our meals, getting the check, getting the boxes, etc. We had to flag them down several times and they were not that attentive. Parking: The shop is located right next to a paid lot next door. Fortunately, there was one spot left when we arrived! All in all, I wouldn't mind coming back to try out more food. Cute dine-in Mexican spot off of 4th Street, quick service and has a full menu of all the greatest hits - tacos, burritos, enchiladas and their signature moles. We weren't super hungry when we came in for lunch so ordered a shared plate of handmade taquitos and one of their holiday specials, the tamale platter. Food came out quickly so the taquitos were still nice and crispy, which I prefer before they inevitably get soggy and smothered with sauce. The tamales were okay, but I am coming to the realization that maybe I just don't Iike the maize flavor of tamales. What I will definitely come back for is their robust menu of agave cocktails - they make their own syrup in house, and every flavor sounds delicious. I ordered their more popular Guava Margarita with mezcal instead of tequila, and it's one of the better drinks I've had in a long time. Stumbled upon this place while I was in Pasadena this weekend and fell in love! The ambiance and the staff were great!! I seemed like they were short staffed but even so the service was still good. Visited Lola's last night for taco Tuesday to try out their tacos. First came the chips and salsa, the roasted pepper salsa was pretty spicy but their green creamy salsa was really good. We got the carne asada, chicken, veggie (squash/calabacitas), birria and carnitas. The carne asada and chicken were good, the veggie was also yummy and flavorful. Between birria and carnitas, the carnitas was juicy and flavorful and the birria which was more just the meat without cooking it birria style was super dry (almost no sauce and no consommé either). We were also gonna order the mole to share as it won awards but we were so full so next time. Staff are nice, there is seating outside in the patio out back, inside tables and also in front outside. We spent a lot of time searching yelp for a place to have dinner after a day at the convention center, and we finally decided on Lola's. I'm so glad we did! We arrived around 6. It was Saturday night, and they were busy but not crowded. Seating was available immediately on the front and back patios, but it was hot and we decided to wait for an indoor table, which took about 10 minutes. Our server was Kevin, and he was super nice, very friendly and helpful, even clarifying a menu option for my friend that helped her decide what to eat. Everything we had was so delicious. The avocado crema or whatever it is they bring with the chips and salsa was a sign of good things to come! I want that on everything I eat forever. My friend and I shared a plate of the bean and cheese chimis to start, and while they were very good, I kind of wish we hadn't so that I could've finished my entree. I had the al pastor mulitas, and every bite was a wonderful mix of flavors amd textures. My friend had the El Trio taco plate and she enjoyed everything she ate as well. I had the Peach Ring margarita - a special - which tasted exactly like a gummy peach ring candy, and was served with one as a garnish! My friend had the other margarita special, a blood orange one, which was also very good. Both unique and delicious. We don't often do repeat restaurant visits because there's always so many places we want to try, but I think we'll definitely be back to Lola's when we're back in Long Beach. read more
