I've been to The Attic a few times in the past, so this was my third or fourth visit. It's a Michelin Guide Restaurant, which is an excellent accolade. Erick was a good server and prompt with my requests. The hostess was also very nice and friendly. I sat on the patio and the breeze and sunshine were perfect. I had the Up Country Benedict for brunch. The shrimp were plump and succulent, the smoked pork croquette was adequate, but this dish would benefit from a crab croquette to maintain the third coast theme. I also loved the grits cake.
STEPH UPDATE: Still a local favorite for a reason. I hadn't been here in a good long while, but the news of their revamped Happy hour menu piqued my interest. I met up with a couple of friends on a Monday afternoon for a happy hour on their lovely renovated patio. The happy hour menu had lots of good deals, but not a lot of vegetarian or vegan options, alas. I've tried: - $7 old fashioned (great flavor, surprisingly potent) - shrimp cocktail (perfectly plump shrimps, 4 per order) - oysters (very fresh) - biscuits with sorghum butter (biscuits were a bit dry, but that's what the butter's for. Also, not sure if I've ever had sorghum before but it was like a cross between maple syrup and molasses) Really friendly staff, but as it got busier they got harder to flag down. Get there early for happy hour if you can!
Delicious food, great service, interesting cocktails. The sticky rice (Breakfast Rice in a Stone Bowl) was absolutely amazing and I don't usually eat rice. Several people ordered it and I tasted them all because I couldn't get enough! With 10 in our party celebrating a college graduation, we sat on the patio and the service was great. Everyone enjoyed their meals and cocktails. The location provided a hip vibe too, at the corner of Broadway and Newport. Definitely a great brunch spot!
An overdue review from earlier this month when I dropped in with a friend specifically for their Martini Mondays! We had made plans to hang out on a Monday and found that most of the restaurants we had been dying to go to were closed, so I turned to social media to find a cute spot for a girl dinner date...they even have a "girl dinner" special! While we didn't opt for that combo this time, everything we got was utter perfection. To start, we were greeted warmly by Alanna (I'm probably butchering the spelling; sorry, girl!) and invited in, and because The Attic occupies a cute old home on the corner it really felt like being welcomed in by a friend. She was exceptional, and was so excited when we mentioned Martini Mondays and kindly explained some of the menu for us and pointed at her favorites as we were visiting for the first time and love getting recs from those in the know! Best dirty vodka olive martini I've had since visiting Commander's Palace in NOLA; if you know, you know... the cornbread with honey butter was a phenomenal choice. We also raved over the wedge salad which had this curry crumble that honestly paired so well with the blue cheese and bacon, absolutely lovely take on an old classic while still being familiar and comforting. The lemon pasta dish (I don't recall the exact name) was perfect for a hot summer evening, it felt refreshing but also filling, probably one of the best pastas I've eaten this year in southern California. Thanks to Alanna we had the best time here, but everyone was so friendly and on top of their game! We will absolutely be back, and I look forward to trying some of their other specials and seasonal menu changes! ETA: I forgot about the beignets! So, these were not my favorite because I like a big, pillowy beignets and these reminded me of funnel cake a bit more than an authentic beignet--but honestly if they turned these into funnel fries they would be to die for, especially since the included jam was excellent! Just some constructive crit !
Parking is hard. They have a lot on the back but it's always full. You need to try on the streets. The further away the easier you'll find a spot. It took 20 min to be sat. We arrived in a Friday around noon It took a while for us to get our order taken and for food to arrive. Truly that was the longest part. A table who got here before us was served before we were. It was getting pretty long We got the buscits which was a let down. They were cold. A bit hard and the butter was unable to be spread. The gumbo was less flavorful and if you are used to more flavorful gumbos then this one isn't for you. It it's more tamed. The rice was a little dry. It tasted like it could come from a package. The best part was the meat serving. The eggs Benedict were perfect. I loved the lemon salad that was served with it. The cut inside the eggs was great and cooked well. I would come back just to try more entrees. Avoid the biscuits unless you have them with gravy. Then let us know. The place is small with outside and inside seating. I attached a video of the view inside. We paid about $50 with tip for the three things and truly it was a good experience. If you like Bloody Marys I would say to come try because we noticed nearly every table getting served one.
Came here for breakfast. We had the Upcountry Benedict. They were ok. We enjoyed the grits but the shrimp didn't sit well with the poached eggs for us. The pork was great. Very savory. We also ordered the Mac and Cheetos. I'm sure we would have enjoyed it much more if we didn't order them for breakfast. But I am a fan of Hot Cheetos as well. We ordered the chocolate croissant from their sister restaurant and it wasn't crispy and flaky, just bready and not much chocolate. I did order a side of their fried chicken. Now that was amazing. Cooked and flavored just right. Crispy and savory is what comes to mind when I think f their fried chicken ‼. I wouldn't mind returning. Service was good, and the restaurant was in a home, felt homey and comfy.
Good service, some of the BEST fried rice I've ever had in my life and excellent Benedict's! Drinks were on point and everybody enjoyed themselves. Only drawback was that I ordered the rice and kinda wanted it for myself but had to share it with the table . I'd like to try them in the future for dinner. If you're in LA this is one of those spots that's definitely worth a semi lengthy trip to come to and dine!
Food was decent, the service was friendly, and the seating areas were one of the highlights. Showed up right between transitioning between their normal menu and happy hour so was able to order from both. There's a side patio, a front patio, and an indoor dining area, all set within a space designed to feel like a home which felt like a quaint and welcoming environment. It's also dog-friendly, so that's a nice bonus for those bringing their pets along. The main drawback is parking. Spaces in the lot behind the restaurant are limited, so you may need to rely on street parking.
Really yummy food. Really good vibe. Service was kind and on point. I'd recommend the beignets, chocolate cake, and French fries, and biscuits!! We also ordered the bratwurst (it was ok), the burger (it was just a basic cheese burger), and the chicken sandwich (chicken was crispy and moist).
So I've seen this place for 20+ years. Always looked amazing. But now that I'm here... I regret not coming sooner! This place is so cozy. They have little table fans to keep flies away for outdoor seating. (Very cool) they have indoor seating as well. I ordered an old fashioned w Four Roses Whiskey. Sooo amazing! The foods great and Ilana was absolutely incredible. Great attitude. Made me and guest feel right at home. Great vibe here. I urge u to try it out
We have been to The Attic many times for their breakfast. They have an outdoor patio that's nice to sit at to enjoy the sun. I personally love the breakfast rice in stone bowl. I get it every time. My partner gets the breakfast burrito. It's a pretty good brunch spot! This time we got to try their dinner service. Overall service was pretty good except we had to flag the staff down a couple of times for water. For the food, we thought the seafood was the weakest. I felt that the oyster we got was overdressed, all I tasted was the apple vinegar. The albacore crudo also didn't excite us, we were thinking it would be refreshing but it didn't really do anything. On the bright side, we loved the fries and steak! The sauce that came with it was spectacular and the steak was cooked and seasoned really well. Overall, I think I'll continue to come for the breakfast since we live nearby, but might be a while before we try their dinner menu again.
Went to The Attic tonight, enticed by The Ultimate Girl Dinner: a dirty martini with ten olives, fries and a Caesar. Both my friend and I ended up also ordering the sea bream, per the recommendation of our lovely waitress Vernice . AHMAZING and could eat this everyday for the rest of my life. I've been to The Attic many a time before, never had a bad experience. Needed to write this review to compliment Vernice. She was patient, attentive, super friendly, helpful and made us feel at home. Her service was outstanding and she went above and beyond to make us leave with a better impression of the restaurant than we already had. Thanks girly!! Will be back again soon! Appreciate yall!
Came back and all of my sentiments are the same, and then some! Food's fantastic, love that they switch up their menu (if they still have this amazing pot pie, get it), the ambience is cool and casual, great for date night, and our server was friendly and charismatic.

The Attic is truly a Long Beach staple, elevated intentional food with a homely feeling. The staff are very personable and are knowledgeable with the menu and helping with dietary restrictions. The menu itself does make some seasonal changes but one thing I can always recommend is the homemade biscuits. My cousin & I went Friday night with a last minute reservation and were seated promptly. Everyone is the restaurant was so warm welcoming. Truly felt like a great end of summer moment. The vibes were perfect. We got the biscuits and sweet potatoes to share. I got the cauliflower as my entree. The food was the perfect temperature, texture and had a great overall flavor profile. It was so feeling and good. The Attic is charming little resturant. The resturant appears to be a home renovated to become cottage eatry. We were greeted by 2 host who were polite and gave great small talk while we waited for the rest of our party arrive. Our waitress was polite and attentive. She made sure we were taken care of. Party of 6 and our first time at The Attic so we all had a slew of questions. She was most helpful to us in choosing drinks and entrees. The table was split between the chicken&Waffles and Gumbo. One of our friends ordered the short rib fries and she loved them. The Gumbo wasnt to my liking however the guest that ordered the Gumbo enjoyed just suggested more seasoning as it was sort of bland. The chicken and waffles were good. Waffle was tasty; the chicken was breaded chicken breast (all of the flavor in the batter) but it was good. We order the Beignets, they were so delicious we ordered a 2nd round of those. The cocktails were on point. We had a great time talking and catching with our love ones. We didnt feel rushed, my experience was pleasant I would come back to try other menu options. read more

Nine of us for happy hour. And we are happy. Nathan was our server. We maximizes the drinks. I had gumbo and so did three others. There was grilled okra on the top with white rice. Nicely done. A side of corn bread. Very rich. Two Caesar salads. Nice slab of grilled chicken or grilled shrimp. Both were tasty. Hot cheeto Mac and cheese was 'amazing'. The drinks were great. Sangrias, martini and a number of mixed drinks. Everyone asked for grits and shrimp. They need to bring it back. read more

The Attic has been one of my favorite spots since before I even moved to Long Beach. I definitely need to try more of their menu, but my go-to is always the mac and cheese with Hot Cheetos it's not just hype, there's a reason it's the number one recommended dish. The mac and cheese is made perfectly, and the cheese melts so well with the Hot Cheetos. It's also dog friendly, which makes the experience even better. My dog can get a little anxious and vocal, so I'm mindful and head out once he starts getting chatty The service is always amazing, and the building itself is a must see.. it honestly feels like you're in a home enjoying a really nice meal. read more
What a great brunch spot! The Attic was recommended to us by a friend, and we had the best time here grabbing an early brunch when driving between LA and the OC. Service was amazing and food was great. We were actually told that everything was made fresh here, and if we wanted something that wasn't on the menu just to ask. It's a cozy location with an interesting build out around the house which is where the Attic is located. I have NO clue how it's taken me this long to finally try The Attic. I've lived the majority of my life in Long Beach and somehow never came here. I will say an ex of mine did bring me a takeout Mac & cheese (Cheetos) take out plate from here many years ago which I thought was good, but a little gimmicky to me... but now that I finally had the chance to dine-in here, I understand the hype. We had an excellent server (don't recall her name unfortunately) for the entire meal which made the experience great. She recommended us a great refreshing alcoholic beverage (considering I had a hangover anyways) and we were torn between several food options but ended up with the cheese burger and breakfast Sammie since we both wanted to try both items and figured we could just split. Both were delicious, but I really have to hand it to the breakfast sandwich. Everything hit perfectly and my taste buds were very happy. We both agreed with this. I'd rate the breakfast sandwich a solid 9/10 and the cheeseburger an 8.2/10. Both very great options, Love the vibe of this place. It seems like it used to be a house back in the day which became converted into a restaurant and/or business at some point. Will be back again! read more
We walked up and we're greeted immediately by Jordan who is completely lovely. We sat outside as the weather was good and there weren't too many people. We ordered from the happy hour menu. My fiancee got gumbo and I got the Attic cheeseburger. It was one of the best burgers Ive ever eaten and I don't say that lightly as a burger lover. Fiancee loved the creamy gumbo. Our water was constantly being refilled and we were being checked on. Great! For dessert I got the affogato and it was delicious. Perfect balance of hot and cold. read more
Good vibes place to meet with my gfs for brunch! The staff were so accommodating, especially since we had a newborn. They moved us from the cramped bar area to the other side where there's another patio (also very small but we managed) the drinks we ordered were very refreshing cocktails! I believe the one I ordered was an orange juice cocktail mixed with passion fruit. It was yummy! I ordered the lobster tail which was okay but lacking the lobster meat for a $33 plate. I should've stuck with the suggested ones which were the eggs Benedict and breakfast burrito but I didn't feel like having "breakfast". I would come back to try other things on the menu. Best brunch spot in Long Beach! Or dare I saw allll of Los Angeles?!? It's the chef(s), the ambiance and the service that make this quaint spot perfection! There is a small lot in the back to park or plenty of street parking. It has a large outdoor dining section and cute bar, and is VERY dog friendly as well! (They even have a dog menu!!) They have inside seating too and it's an old, vintage house converted into this charming restaurant space. The bathrooms are clean and large! I can't say enough about literally every menu item here, but I'll highlight some. The menu is so eclectic but boasts southern upscale cuisine and it is unique, creative and very satisfying! The brunch menu is king, in my opinion, and is served every day until three, so if you're a late riser, you can't miss out on this late brunch, that is the best (again) in Long beach! I love the stone rice bowl-the flavors will change your life! The BEC is also phenomenal-it's a McDonald's style huge hash brown patty, topped with bacon and yummy scrambled eggs! It's unique and fabulous! I also adore the Nashville chicken sandwich. The flavor combinations in it are mouthwatering and it's better than any other chicken sandwich I've ever had! The chocolate cake should NOT be slept on and their beignets (yes!!!) are fresh and craveworthy. The happy hour is awesome for happy hour seekers like myself. Discounted craft cocktails, beer and wine and I recommend the Bon Temps! I love the happy hour burger-TRUST ME on that and thank me later! Fries are hand cut and amazing as well! The service is perfection and the staff is friendly, polished and top notch. I almost didn't want to write a review because I almost ALMOST just eat to keep this hidden gem to myself! But I have to give them credit for all that they are. Try them out immediately!! read more
I've been to The Attic several times. I think I prefer brunch. I didn't see many menu options that appealed to me. Shrimp cocktail was presented well. Flavors were as expected. Ordered bread that was yummy but $2 for one slice. The Mac & Cheetos was a disappointment. I've had the dish before but this time it lacked flavor, noodles were too al dente. Ordered the. Citrus Sea Bream. Again, this dish was average; salad that came with it was good. Server and wait staff were all excellent; friendly and attentive. Dirty dishes were removed quickly. Nice covered patio with heat lamp and music was playing. Small parking lot and street parking available. read more

Recently moved to Long Beach and this stop was on my list, mostly to try the Cheeto Mac n cheese! Although esthetically pleasing, really the hot Cheetos were the best part of the dish. Both my friend and I were pretty disappointed in the food quality and didn't enjoy really any of our meal. The Mac n cheese and chicken sandwhich lacked flavor, the lobster roll was okay but hard to mess up imitation crab. Fries were old, soggy, and not edible. I didn't end up eating my half of the chicken sandwhich after one bite. Despite every dish lacking in flavor, the service was quick and amazing! Staff were friendly and attentive and I would maybe give this place another try for dinner just because of how great the staff and ambience was (maybe brunch just isn't it?). Overall the food was overpriced for the quality of it. The reviews were misleading for the experience we had. read more
Our meal was amazing! We had a reservation but seating was plentiful on a Monday evening. The location is super cute and although most seating is outside they had heat lamps and transparent wall covers to keep the warmth in. I had the new South Eastern Pork Rib on a rice cake and it was amazing. It was Crunchy, sweet, and so tasty. read more

The food and service was outstanding. The weather was so nice and comfortable we dined outdoors. We went light to heavy ending with the bone marrow pie. We tried everything the server recommended and didn't regret it one bit. From the refreshing peach salad to the pork chops, everything was delicious. I would definitely recommend and come back again. Amazing food all around, but the biscuits truly stole the show. Not many brunch spots have mastered the art of a great biscuit, but The Attic absolutely has. Fluffy, flavorful, and perfectly done. The menu is full of cool, creative, and interesting items--one of those places where everything sounds good and you immediately start planning a return visit. 10/10 Gumbo. Perfectly seasoned and very comforting on a cold day! I would definitely come back for this dish. As for whether or not it's authentic, I really couldn't tell you haha but it was still very yummy. We sat indoor and it was still quite chilly as if we were seated outside (but we did sit by the door). Just keep that in mind for all yall that is weak to the cold like me! My husband and I went for a date night early this week. We sat inside to avoid the cold (though it was still rather chilly inside) but the Christmas vibes inside were perfect. We loved the cornbread!! So delish. We split the burger and the bone marrow shepherds pie. We enjoyed our meal. I felt everything was maybe a little over peppered, but otherwise I was pleased. Also- order the strawberry lemonade. It's SOOOO GOOD! The staff was very nice and so helpful. The house and ambiance is very homey and cozy. I hadn't been to The Attic in over 10 years, and I'm happy to say it's still just as good as I remember. This spot is well known for their Bloody Marys and is a great place to come for brunch. We came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't very busy--seemed like they were getting ready to close--so we were seated right away. We sat outside on the patio, and since it was a beautiful day, the outdoor seating made the experience even better. The vibe was relaxed and cool, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. For food, we ordered the jambalaya, eggs benedict, and banana pudding for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious. I also ordered the bacon-y Bloody Mary, and it definitely hit the spot--flavorful and perfectly made. The Attic has both indoor and outdoor seating, is very dog-friendly, and also has a bar if you prefer to sit at the stools. The restaurant itself is really charming, set inside an old-style home, so it feels like you're eating in someone's house rather than a typical restaurant. Overall, The Attic still delivers great quality food, good service, and a fun, comfortable atmosphere. It's a solid brunch spot, and I'd definitely recommend it. read more
I like this spot when shopping on Broadway. There is a small parking lot in the back, which really helps on the busy street which speaking of, the patio is pleasant to dine on. Everything thing we shared was well flavored and balanced. The only hiccup was the service being a bit slow. Very nice service, so it is more of a staffing issue than anything else. read more
We came on a weekday so getting a table quickly wasn't an issue. Points for the service. The hostess and server were good. The restaurant has multiple parts. There is inside seating what looks like a converted house? There is outside seating at tables or at the bar. The menu was interesting which had a theme of shrimp; there was eggs Benedict with shrimp, but not an item to order a regular one without it? Sure maybe could have ordered and asked without shrimp but pay the same price? Pass. Ok when I called they mentioned they serve brunch until 3? 3:30 I can't remember. The server mentioned they serve the brunch all day? Either way when I got to ordering this month on the menu it highlighted the shrimp po boy. I tried to order and nope, out. How can you be out of the item highlighted as the special in the middle of the day? When the place is not packed? I tried to order the lobster roll and again, out. I was tempted to order their short rib poutine since in theory it sounded good, but at this point I tried something simple I would hope they have in the kitchen chicken and waffles. The plate came and it looks good. If you look at the picture at the bottom of the chicken you can see a dark something. As I lift my chicken I found a huge burnt piece of breading pictured next. On top of the chicken is green onion I think? Who eats that with chicken and waffles? If I am wrong, a garnish is totally unnecessary for this dish. The chicken was moist. There are spices in the flour breading I can see but hard to taste what it is. The waffle is a hard pass for me. The waffle was crispy which is good, but also thin and dry and I couldn't taste any sweetness until I put maple syrup on it. The syrup came out warm which was nice. It's clear watching the people at the bar this is a local hangout. The chicken and waffles were $19 which if I was in the bay I think it's about right, but I think a little high considering the level of food I got. Supposedly this place is packed specifically on Sundays. The server doesn't know why? I'm not interested to even try to come back for a second chance and just be told sold out of the menu. read more

There are kid menu items just not listed. Grilled cheese, pasta with butter and noodles, etc.
Dog friendly or nah? It's seems like a chill spot but if pupper is not allowed in the patio it's cool
Dogs are allowed on the patio! There are lots of outdoor tables that could accommodate your pupper!
Do they have parking available if not where can i park?
Yes, but limited maybe like 10 spots. Otherwise use street parking

I don't believe they do. Drink specials are offered from 4-5:30 pm.
Does the outside dining table space have enough room for a stroller to be beside a table?
Im pretty sure they can accommodate you. Getting through the isle with a stroller might be tight.

We serve our intermission menu daily from 4pm-5:30pm which has oysters, a lobster roll, a shrimp cocktail, a seasonal cheeseboard, and a couple different bread options. There are wine, beer and cocktail specials. All bottles of wine are 50% off.…

Pretty sure it's M-F 3-6p. If you check on google they have "$3 all beers" "whiskey Wednesday" and other promos.

Through the whole restaurant!
Are there actual vegan options here? The only thing marked vegan on the menu are the fries.
I would call them vegetarian options, not vegan.
Do they have non alcoholic beverages?
Yes, they are a restaurant so they have non-alcoholic drinks on their regular food menu. But their alcoholic drinks are the best! Especially their Bloody Mary's❤
When do they stop serving breakfast (during weekdays)?
They don't, should be an all day menu.
