Short rib melt 4.5 stars
Coco V.

This place is actually pretty good. It's a small little restaurant in a less crowded area of Long Beach. Not as busy as Belmont Shore. It's a little dark inside and they play some pretty mellow music. We visited on a Thursday and I guess on Thursdays, it's "Happy Hour" all day. I wasn't very hungry so we didn't get anything from the Happy Hour menu. We both actually ordered the same thing, the short rib melt. It comes with garlic fries. The sandwich is pretty good. It comes with mushrooms and some spicy peppers. I don't do spicy so I kept those out. I wasn't in the mood for dessert or anything but maybe next time. The customer service was good. There was music playing but not so loud that you can't hear each other talk. I'd definitely come back.

My husband and I decided to go to The Social List around 2 p.m. on a Friday, and it was empty, which was nice. We got a great spot outside, although I do feel like the outdoor tables are pretty small, even for just two people. Still, we wanted to sit in the sun. We started with the coconut shrimp. What made them unique was the seasoning, it gave the shrimp a savory flavor, while the crispy coconut panko added just the right amount of sweetness. They weren't overly sweet like most coconut shrimp, and honestly, they were flavorful enough to eat without the sweet chili sauce. My husband ordered the Backyard Burger and really enjoyed it. His garlic fries were crispy and not overly garlicky; more like regular fries, which he loved. The star of the show for me was the fig & blue burger. It was like eating a charcuterie board in burger form. The fig jam, blue cheese, patty, and bacon all worked perfectly together; sweet and savory in the best way. The only downside was how messy and sticky it was, but that's how you know it's good. The side salad was just okay, but it's a side salad, so I didn't expect much. I'll definitely be dreaming about that burger after my vacation.

Tried Dolores after finding the new brewery "Everywhere ". Loved the brewery in Orange, so we took the trip to see Everywhere in LB. Dolores did not disappoint us. The ambiance is amazing and our server was fantastic. Also everyone loved the food they ordered. Gets 5 stars.

I've been to this place several times over the past ten years. Today was a real treat. Braised Short Ribs served over mashed potatoes & gravy, sautéed spinach and cherry tomatoes. The meat was so tender a knife was not needed and the flavor.... absolutely delicious! The Expresso Martini was a flavor bomb, made with Ketel One. The server was prompt and friendly. Experience was wonderful and I will return. The server informed me that they are changing names very soon to Deloris. I hope the menu and level of service stay. Highly recommend trying!

Middle of the afternoon is the time to come. You have to pay for street parking and have 3 hour limit. The patio is fun to sit and eatch people and cars. Happy hour, brunch, sandwiches, burgers, beer, drinks they have a little of everything.

Cool place located next to cafes, shops, bars, and other restaurants. It's nice for a day out to walk around and stop for lunch, apps, or an early dinner. We came to enjoy some apps for a light brunch and ordered a bottle of champagne (that came with orange juice or pineapple juice), as well as patatas bravas (savory potatoes dressed in Cajun seasoning and slightly zesty) and brisket nachos - pretty simple and good to snack on. Nice, modern, and airy brunch spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. I think it's perfect for a day out. Well-decorated too; they had cute, funny, and classy Halloween decorations up for the season. The wait time went by pretty quickly even though it's a little smaller of a place. The bartender was cool and the staff was nice.

Made a resy here post marathon this weekend and they were able sit 14 of us! Great spot, vibes on point, and all the food was AMAZINGGG. Not a single food item disappointed us, and servers were really attentive and nice. The coconut onion ring was delicious and potato's bravas. Got the kahuna burger which was 10/10. Highly recommend coming here for brunch and can't wait to come back!

Short Rib Scramble and lemonade

Went during late brunch/lunch time around 1pm on a Saturday, no line or wait and there were extra tables available I ordered the short rib scramble with sour cream on the side and it came with a side of toast and avocado salsa. It was quite yummy and pretty flavourful with the short rib pieces Ambiance was themed to Halloween for the month of October and they played some Halloween music in the background interchanged with some oldies Parking is on 4th street, metered, or in the small lot off of Cherry ave if you can get a spot (also paid)

I'd been meaning to try this place for some time. The atmosphere was nice. It felt like an upbeat place to head out to for appetizers and a drink. We started the order with Brisket nachos. They came out pretty quickly. Unfortunately, they weren't the best. First, the cheese was mainly on one side of the plate with the opposite end being just chips. It had beans and a tiny scoop of guac/sour cream. The taste was okay but nothing I'd be interested in trying again. For the main dish, I was automatically intrigued by the Fig & Blue burger since it had fig jam and blue cheese. The burger was very different (as expected) but tasty. The fries on the other hand were super flaky and were worse than frozen store bought fries. My husband had a burger and fries too and thought the same. Lastly, the place was jam packed and staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, but overall were friendly and attentive as much as they could be. I'd consider trying this place again on a slower night.

The perfect spot for Friday Happy Hour!! We got the Zonin Prosecco which was light, refreshing and served in delightful glasses. The Tuscan Summer flatbread packs just the right amount of flavor where every ingredient stands out. From the fresh Burrata to the perfectly crisp bread to the subtle prosciutto plus sharp arugula and perfectly shaved parmessan...a miracle bite! Then-- The Southern Style Spicy Chicken Sandwich--WOW I had dreams about the mouth-watering garlic fries last night, no joke! And the southern style sandwich knocked my socks off with unique yet traditional southern flavor. OMG!!!

came here for J Dilla's 'Donuts' listening party from Good Luck Vinyl Club who hosts events here! I had been wanting to go to one of their events for a few months & im so happy I finally did. such a cool spot & I'll definitely be returning for more of these events. it's nice to be surrounded by amazing vibes around a community who has deep appreciation for music :") also the staff/bartenders were super cool and the drinks were great. I'd love to check out this spot outside of good luck vinyl club's events too!

Was craving a juicy and delicious burger, so I had to go to The Social List and order their Fig & Blue burger with garlic Parmesan fries! The patty is juicy and all the flavors come together so well with the bacon, fig jam, and cheese! You gotta try it! The fries have yummy pieces of fresh garlic and they're crispy! We sat at a table overlooking the street, really appreciate the open doors and windows so it's fresh and breezy on a summer day! Service is always great and their beer selection is even better!

So damn good! All of it! We had family visiting Long Beach from out of state and decided to make a touristy type evening out of it. I booked us a whale watching boat ride and then dinner reservations here. The boat ride ended up getting in way later than expected and we called the restaurant to let them know we were running late. They were so accommodating. They nicely explained that as long as we showed up, they would get us in. I greatly appreciated it, since we had two, hungry, young kids with us too. As it turns out, I wouldn't recommend going on the fourth Friday of the month, unless you're also prepared on going for the exercise. It's market night and the parking is horrendous - like parking a mile away and that's with good luck! Most of our party seated and started on some plates and drinks, while one was gone on a good 40 min drive/walk back trying to find parking. Inside is not very big, and only one restroom, but they all made it feel so welcoming, that we didn't mind at all. Plus, it was great for people watching and the food and drinks really were all top notch. I was drinking the Thai Fighter cocktail - freaking amazing and I could have drank that all night long. There were so many things we wanted to try, and ended up with a lot of apps - fried calamari (loved that these weren't traditional style, much thicker), mamas meatballs (tender, not dry, loved the bread, should have asked for extra sauce to drown the bread in), poke nachos (very good), kung pao wings (loved these!!) , coconut shrimp (huge, perfectly crispy, great spicy sauce), clam chowder (perfect), and a bacon burger with garlic fries (again, perfect all around). The flavors were spot with each and every dish. And I definitely want to come back to try more. It all worked out for us in the end. Again, the staff was amazing and we greatly appreciated their patience with our situation. We all made the best of it and it worked out.

I was excited to see on the menu that they were serving Kinobi gin from Kyoto. I discovered this gin on a trip to Kyoto have since bought it regularly. To my surprise, when I saw the bartenders making the drinks they were using Gray Whale. Gray Whale is fine, but it's not in the same league at Kinobi. I realize Kinobi can be hard to find at times but If there's a substitution like that, the server should say something when you order the drink or if it's a recipe change, the menu should be updated. Speaking of service, that's what really brought me to write this re view. Before we even ordered we were told that we would only have 90 minutes. That honestly killed the vibe and made us feel rushed. Like the OpenTable confirmation even said we'd have two hours. And for tge rest of our time there our server pretty much ignored us. They forgot some of the food we ordered and shoved the check in our face when they wanted us to leave. I'm guessing they were stretched too thin? I think they need to hire another person to be a server or maybe get an extra bartender and have them wait on the people at the bar. At a bar like this service is everything. Being a Japanese themed bar you'd think they would try to copy the level of service you'd have in Japan. I just moved to the neighborhood and probably won't return after our experience.

Another thing that stood out was how clean and organized the restaurant stayed. The moment a table was vacated, it was cleared and reset within minutes. Everything looked spotless. There's so much on the menu that I want to come back and try. I highly recommend this place. And last but definitely not least -- thank you, Demetrius, for noticing my parking time had expired and getting me that extra 15 minutes. You saved me a ticket. You're a true gem. I'll be back to Saint & Second very soon.

We had a great lunch at Saint & Second! I came here with my lovely four-legged baby after a walk at…read morethe beach, and the staff was very welcoming. The Bake Mac & Cheese is a must-order--the crunchy topping is easily the best part and gives it such a great texture. We also tried the Grilled Provoleta. It's a seared provolone with portobello mushrooms and pickled peppers; it doesn't have a typical "cheese pull," but the flavors are incredible and it feels surprisingly light for a cheese dish. The 1st-floor outdoor patio is super comfortable and dog-friendly, making it the perfect spot to relax. Highly recommend if you're in Long Beach with your pup!
