We had an amazing night at this restaurant/nightlife spot celebrating a friend's 41st birthday. They had a DJ spinning and the house and techno music was incredible all night long. The vibe was perfect...great energy with plenty of room to dance. The cocktails were excellent, and the bartenders, Jose and Jocelyn, were incredibly attentive and helped make the night even better. Honestly, every staff member we interacted with, from the promoter to the security guard, was fantastic and contributed to such a fun welcoming atmosphere. The decor was such a fun surprise...tons of palm trees and inflatables made it feel like you were in a tropical getaway rather than just a pizza restaurant. They also had a photo booth, which added another fun touch to the night. We took a ton of pictures in it. We really appreciated the gender-neutral bathrooms and the overall safe, inclusive environment that made our whole group feel comfortable drinking, dancing, and celebrating. Parking can be rough, but as a Long Beach native I already knew that, so we chose to Uber.. We'll absolutely be making the trip back from North Orange County to visit again! read more

I had a beer and a pizza - and then after I had the pizza one server gaslit me - he wouldn't allow me to get any more drinks and when I told him I even ate a whole pizza he didn't believe me - even when literally I was right there for a while and his other staff member had brought the pizza. He said I was talking nonsense when I wasn't - I wasn't even talking much and maybe I had sang one of the famous exploitive songs of mine. I love the Har but I have to admit not all of the bartenders in the past have been great. Kale is a fave, but she doesn't seem to work on the nights I go there. From the start, it was a completely different vibe since the new ownership and in the best way! Staff greets you immediately and makes sure you're attended to. The owner is even walking around making sure everyone is doing great and is hands on with the work load. Love to see it! We ordered pizza and fried Brussels. Brussels were perfectly cooked. The spicy cowboy was a good combo of spicy and sweet. The burrata was so light and fresh. We are currently here and just now ordered more pizza !! The monthly special pizza is only available as a whole pizza and not by the slice FYI. I ordered a High Noon to start but switched over to their specialty cocktail, The Hot Honey Paloma. I enjoy coming here for the cocktails and food (ESPECIALLY the pizza and wings ) but I've always found the vibe and staff to be hit or miss. The staff are friendly but definitely no-nonsense; which highlights how it's a bar that has food rather than a restaurant-type establishment. Overall I'd say a 7.5/10 - I don't mind going because of the food and drinks but the vibe makes me hesitate. The Hare is a wonderful addition to the gayborhood and the area overall and I'm so glad to have new business to support in the neighborhood. It replaces the historic Paradise and its more recent predecessor Black and depending on whom you ask, those are some big shoes to fill. I definitely feel like it fills those shoes well. Food here is really good but one item I've had here is EPIC. The spinach and artichoke dip is the best I've ever had. On its own the dip is great but it's further elevated by the accompanying homemade potato chips and veggies that include carrots, celery, and cucumber. I've never had any restaurant serve cucumber with this appetizer but now I I can't have it without cucumber. I've tried the pepperoni, veggie, and sausage-pesto-mushroom pizza and have been really pleased. For those watching what they eat, the antipasto salad is a good choice. Service here is great, everyone is super personable. And I'm a fan of the rewards program that also includes Long Beach institution: The Breakfast Bar. Ambiance is super chill. There's TVs throughout this spot. I'm not a football fan but appreciate that there are 5 or 6 TVs that display different games. And they do a good job of honoring the neighborhood they're in. I had seen a social media ad regarding this place and apparently it had been open for a while but they were just getting around to their grand opening so we decided to try it out. Upon entering, the vibe totally reminded me of Paradise (prior to Black) which was a warm welcoming. The dining area and bar area are separate and we had initially wanted to eat linner here but opted to sit at one of the high tops in the bar area. Our server greeted us immediately and we had already decided on their "weekend sangria" which they advertise on their website for Sat and Sun specials at 8.00/glass. We were hungry and wanted to order an 18" pizza; however, the high top was pretty small and we did not want to be overcrowded on space. They were having a special complimentary cheese or pepperoni pizza slice between the hours of noon to 5pm so I inquired to our server about it but she said she would have to move us into the dining area if we wanted one. I was confused because the table behind us ordered a pizza and other bar patrons at the bar counter were eating food as well as customers at another high top next to us and they had a pizza slice each (made no sense to us but it appeared that they were friends with the owner as he was conversing with them). We had three sangrias each and when we received our bill we were charged 10.00/each glass rather than the online advertised price of 8.00/each. I didn't make a fuss and figured that the owners just didn't update their website. Overall, I loved the vibe of this place as well as enjoyed the live DJ. Had it not been for the inconsistent clarification in regards to dining in with the gratis pizza as well as the incorrect pricing advertised on their website, I would have given this place five stars! So far, I'm very pleased with the restaurant-forward experience that this new, neighborhood bar provides. I'm having a glass of wine on all-day happy hour which falls on a Monday among a plethora of other specials throughout the week. My boyfriend is having a $3 beer can, but they also have $5 drafts, too. As of current, I can attest to the Wings (6) sweet vampire flavor, Spinach Artichoke Dip, & Pepperoni Pizza. I got the pizza slice for free during their Grand Opening weekend (Sept. '25) and that's when we signed up for the rewards program which has been magnificent thus far. Now tbh it feels like the owners are pushing the agenda that this is not an lgbtq place- in order to make straight people feel welcome. Just recently visited the Hare under the new management and had a great experience. Their blueberry sour cocktail was so delicious 10/10 recommend and their pizza of the month which was the spicy cowboy was also good! A mix of sweet and spicy. We went there for dinner last night. We were recommended by Jonnie, the server at the Breakfast Bar. The atmosphere and decor were bar fresh and welcoming, kind of reminded me of Cheers. The bartender and server were very friendly and attentive. Turns out our server was the owner of both restaurants. She was lovely and fun. But the food was literally exceptional! We ordered the spinach dip, cowboys spicy pizza, very spicy. The wings came with nice wing sauce. Homemade ranch and sweet bbq were delicious. Popped in to the bar for a Coke between gig jobs. The bartender May is very nice & attentive. She made a custom drink for another person and nailed it. The patron was super happy with her drink. After reading all the reviews which stated great vibes, great service, friendly, maybe my expectations were too high. The atmosphere was very nice as far as decor, but both the server who I spoke with regarding seating and the bartender who asked what I wanted to drink were not very friendly at all. The server seemed rushed and the bartender seemed just put out. I could understand if the place was busy but it was Thanksgiving weekend at 4:30. But I do want to thank them for the experience because I own a restaurant and it made me reflect on how we treat our customers and that we always need to be cognizant of our behavior.
