Could be possibly the best pizza and beer place in the history of Long Beach maybe the history of California Josh and Angela were amazing. The sourdough crust on the margarita pizza was as good as any pizza you'll ever find and the Caesars salad was amazing. But Barr, none, this was the best of Hefeweizen Beetr you will find anywhere; but you have to understand the lack of places that have it to understand that I am such a snob when it comes to this beer most people don't even offer it and this was as good as you will find anywhere took 2 4 packs home with US. The wife loved it more than I did.!! I hear they have another place on Willow. Iamazing. Do yourself a favor visit this Long Beach beer lab soon. read more

Came here for a friend's birthday and we couldn't have had a better time! Service is quick and the pizzas were delicious. Our party pretty much took over the patio seating. I think our party ordered one of everything and I ordered a vegan margherita for my vegan boyfriend. I think he heard that they make their vegan cheese in house and it had SUCH a melty mouth feel. Absolutely delicious. We also liked the drinks. I got a hard apple cider and a Mexican lollipop beer and their signature pb&j mule. Their ten ounce cups look like lab beakers (so cute). The drinks were well reasonably priced and the pizza was standard but so worth it for the sourdough crust. Not going to lie, we had fun tonight. Even though it was a quick stop for a nightcap that ended up being karaoke night. Stopped by after dinner only for a drink. Well, this place happened to have karaoke as well. At first i thought it was a bar but it's also somewhat of a restaurant as well. Right when you walk in there's the bar vibe with the round table. A few pinball machine and video game. But outside patio was a dining area. Don't know the exact restaurant but did notice loads of pizza. Review is based on the experience and drinks. I feel like it was mainly beer even though there's a full bar. They have a good selection of beer on tap and some mixed cocktails on the special. I asked if they could make a certain drink but wasn't able to. Full bar but couldn't, oh well. Anyways, the beer on tap was quite nice. A good collections of them as well as cider. But the fun part, the karaoke. Honestly, it seemed like regulars that were up and singing. The crowd seemed to all know each other. But a fun night was had watching and enjoying the singers. Crowd was good which is nice. Plus, it's pet friendly as there were a few dogs enjoying the night as well. Drink wise, it was priced well. The specialty cocktails, no too bad either. We ordered their Spicy Sweetheart Pizza, which was advertised as having a beer malt sourdough crust. The crust was notably thin and had an authentic flavor, though it tasted somewhat similar to standard pizza dough made with basic flour. The toppings featured spicy soppressata and jalapeños. As we were unfamiliar with soppressata, we found its flavor to be somewhat distinctively odd, which we attributed to that cured meat; the other toppings paired well on their own; the jalapeño really helped the overall flavor. We recognize that experimenting with unique topping combinations can be a positive trait for a pub-style restaurant. The pizza was served fresh and hot (we are located only a few blocks from the establishment). We may consider trying different options in the future, although this particular pizza was not to our personal taste. All in all, we appreciate the reopening of a pub-style business in the neighborhood. read more

It was packed with people by 7pm. Music was playing by a DJ with Keno game for the customers. Food is delicious, they have mixed drinks, plenty of beer options. There is a small back patio, game boards, arcade games for the kids & adults. Not many workers at the bar, there was 1 person taking orders. My nephew had to wait a while to get his drinks and I too was waiting just to get a fork and knife. Other than that I would had 5 stars instead of 4 stars. read more

Came on a Friday evening and it was definitely poppin inside. Most tables were full with vivacious energy fueled by delicious beer. I love a sour/tangy beverage so I ordered their sour patch and mexican lollipop. The sour patch surprised me with how much it tasted like a boozy sour patch and the mexican lollipop tasted like a version of a mexican candy shot. The latter definitely had a kick to it so if you're looking for a little spice, you'll probably like that one. My friends I came with tried a myriad of beers with no complaints. They also have some food options if you're looking for a bite to eat. I will definitely be returning! Parking is primarily on the street and around the residential area. Tuesdays is trivia night and it's fun for everyone even if your not a nerd. The food is good and they even have a few pinball machines if you get bored. This spot recently came under new ownership and I have to say they've been incredible. Awesome service, high quality on the bruise and the food and super friendly without being over the top. They've also added some great and engaging events. My favorite particularly is the comedy night which gets just a little bit rowdy and rough around the edges. The host of the karaoke night are also fantastic and have a long history of doing great karaoke nights around here. The one thing I have to slightly roast this business for is the fact that they tend to blast music from one television speaker which is extremely harsh on the ears, as a neighborhood spot this makes me pause and reconsider coming in to chill. I know they probably have a lot to do, but I hope that investing in a proper sound system is on the list because their choice of music is pretty fun. read more

The beer lab on Anaheim Street has had its ups and downs with me but my experience last night (2/27/26) really sums it up. I ordered a pickup via ToastTab around 6:30, and the app told me the order would be ready at 7:00pm. I showed up to a moderately packed crowd of Dodgers fans for opening night - busy for a Thursday but nothing crazy. I got a taster while I waited for my order, and I love the new Hasta La Raíz. Then a server brought me a box & large tote with my receipt stapled to it. That was a red flag because I ordered two pizzas, so I thought I'd get just two boxes. There was a delivery driver standing next to me, picking up for a 3rd-party like GrubHub or DoorDash. We quickly figured out it was really his delivery, not my order. The driver took his delivery and left, and the bartender told me my order was next up. I lost track of time watching the Dodgers beat the Diamondbacks. The crowd inflated to unusual size. Line out the door, one bartender vs. all of Long Beach. I waited until about 8:15, the bartender coming back to apologize a few times. My order finally came out, they comp'd my whole order and threw in some cookies. Despite the wait, and what appeared to be the mother of all order queue catastrophes, I think the staff did the right thing for me. The food was fantastic. Well worth the wait. What the Beer Lab lacks in operations, it makes up for with heart. I don't think I'll risk another pickup order here any time soon but I hope they make an effort to make their operation more resilient. Lots of people waiting for their drinks and food had suggestions last night, but that's not what this review is for. All I can say is I hope the best for the Beer Lab and I have to commend the crew for bravely facing down the night of 2/27/26. read more

So glad we stopped in and tried this location. We usually frequent the location on Wardlow and figured we'd give this one a try. We like this location so much better! If you're full kosher, beware because this location DOES have meat. They also serve mixed drinks. Their pizza was deemed the best by our 7 year old. They also gobbled up the snickerdoodle cookie. It's a bit more intimate than the other location. Not as crazy. They don't have space to host any formal event like the other location. They have a small back patio and a few games for the kids and adults. Kaili was behind the bar today and she is awesome! Service was great. Music playlist was a mix of different country music. And we just had an overall relaxing and good time here as a family. It was what we needed on a Sunday and this place delivered. read more

Great atmosphere with a wide selection of brew, the Beer Lab also offers good eating too, but the food menu is more limited. I especially like the sourdough pizza crust. It's toasted just right. Met up here with former coworkers - and had a great time. I arrived early after work, just before six. Parking didn't seem to be an issue. Found a spot in back in the small private lot. Saw bunch of street parking too. Free but just don't know what the enforcement hours are. Check the signs. Walk in. Order at the bar. Find a seat. Or switch that up if it's busy so you have a table. Or just sit at the bar. Not quite table service unless you have a tab open. Otherwise, you place your order at the bar. On that note, service was great. Everyone was attentive, friendly and nice. Even as business started picking up, the staff was on it. Ordered a pizza, half Pepperoni, half Margherita. Nice char. Decent amount of toppings. Also a salad. See pics. Food was good. Didn't pair well with the beers I had ordered but that's my fault. It's what I wanted and I was happy on both counts. This place has changed businesses several times over the years. The crust was so buttery and soft with a nice crunch. We got the Margherita pizza and man.. the flavors of the sauces, the cheese, and garlic cloves melded so beautifully. The service was great as soon as we walked in. We were offered samples of any of the brews which was awesome. I love to post only good reviews but this is a mixture of good and what could have been better. First...pizza is awesome. Honestly believe one of the best in LB. My negative is that when you tip on your order and it gets delivered to your table with with two plates and the employee walks away without any napkins or asking if they can bring you anything else it's a bit frustrating. Had to get up and walk to get napkins, cheese and peppers. Should have tipped myself, especially since the restaurant was quiet. Will I go back...yes. Maybe just an off day. read more
