Stopped by Smog City at Steelcraft and left a bit disappointed. Beer was ok... the few I tried didn't taste as fresh as expected. The staff seemed disinterested, and the overall vibe felt a little dull for a spot that usually has great energy. It's a cool setting at Steelcraft, but this visit didn't live up to Smog City's usual standards.

At the center of the food hall trend is a need for diners to get craft, non-mass produced beer with their meals. In the case of SteelCraft food mini court, this is the Smog City Brewing bar, serving Smog City beer from Torrance They serve their beers (and maybe a couple of guest drafts), and encourage flights by listing the prices from a 4 oz to a full pull. You can also pick up a 4 pack to-go. When we came, they had 20 drafts available. We kept it original and chose the suggested 4 classics (LIttle bo pils, smog city IPA, sabre-tooted squirrel, coffee porter...all $2) and an extra (Kumquat Saison for $3). So the five beer flight was $11, very reasonable. All the beers were fine, and just reconfirmed the styles of beer: that I can drink all day (pilsner), ones to keep avoiding (IPA), good with a meal (brown), and being a meal by itself (porter). Surprisingly, I didn't care for the saison...it was way too sweet for me. We are blessed with an abundance of really good micro brewers here in SoCal, and will continue to explore ones we haven't been to before.

Love this brewery, located in the LB Steelcraft. I get over here a couple times out of the year and have never been disappointed with the selection or the quality. Always greeted by happy friendly staff. Today, my Beer-ista told me with a big smile, it's a great day if you're still breathing! Amen to that. I grabbed a Mexican lager w/ Lime to go with my fish burrito. Great vibes here, nice variety of people-families, couples, students, etc. Stop by for the great selection of brews and grab food from one of the restaurants here.

Been here a bunch of times. It's close to work. And from time to time, I like to have an adult beverage. Or ten. Nothing I don't like about this outpost brewery. Or tasting spot? Not sure what to call it. Whatever the case, I think the spot is great. It's in Steelcraft in Long Beach, on Long Beach. Street parking. Or there's a lot across the street and down a ways. Free though. Check the signs for street parking. If you're lucky, you might get a spot in the small Steelcraft lot. There's residential streets if you don't mind walking. Check those signs too though. Walk up. Order. And either keep the tab open or close it off and find a seat. Steelcraft is an outdoor, semi-covered food hall; so it's shared with other places. No dedicated seating unless you're sitting at their bar. Five or six people I think might be max at the bar though. Beertenders have all been awesome. I don't remember their names. Wish I did. Damn I'm getting old. They know their beers. They're friendly. And they're helpful and patient when I'm standing there trying to figure out which pour to try. I'm working my way down their full menu. If you like beer in a chill spot where there's food available, swing by and I'll see ya there!

First off, I love smog city. One of my top 5 breweries in the South Bay. I've been to all their locations. Every location has their staple handles along with some additional rotating drafts. This location is no exception. Got their favorites that put them on the map and then some additional brews. I used to get tasters but I don't mess with those anymore. When you find a brewery with an outstanding brewmaster, you just trust them. Only a handful of breweries that I'll straight out get full pours of brews that I haven't tried but this is one of them. Just good stuff. Now the location. Inside the SteelCraft container park in Bixby knolls area. Every eatery here is fantastic and pairs well with a good craft beer. So this spot fits right in. Last time we visited was on a Sunday and they had a DJ slangin some nice grooves which really set the mood. Really love this little area. Although I live closer to the other smog city taprooms, I'll make any excuse to come out here to hang out for a bit. Cheers!

Beer, the cause of and solution to all of life's problems. Located within Steelcraft Long Beach, Smog City Bixby Knolls specializes in one product, refreshments for your soul. The service was pleasant as I wasn't sure what to order. So I asked if I could sample a few drinks. I ended up ordering a pint of their in-house glass, MANGO PANGO. The cost was around $7.50. I would say it was 40% sweet and 60% tarty with a hint of tropical mango. They had many other Smog City selections. However, one beer was good enough for me. Lastly, the best days to drink beer are the days that end in "y"--Salut to you, my friend.

Located in the popular SteelCraft food establishment, a quiet and cloudy Sunday afternoon brought me to Smog City for a refreshing beer to complement the day's foodie activities. Who knew beer would compliment pizza, birria tacos and sweet decadent waffles

The hibiscus cider is my favorite! There are four stools right at the bar under an awning to shield you from the sun or bit of wind. There's plenty of additional seating all around.

Great place! Calm just to relax and drink! food is great!! Amazing music! Everyone was nice and helpful!

Fancy Chocolate
Jasmine N.

Ordered the Fancy Chocolate thinking it'd be rich, but the man helping us was so kind as to let us sample, explain that it's a sour, and advise me that if I held it to warm it, I'd get more chocolate undertones! The service here is always incredible, answer my questions kindly, and all of the brews I've had here have been delicious. The parking in the lot is horrible and very uncomfortable, so keep an eye out for street parking too! There is always somewhere to sit, even though this Steelcraft location is quite small. The line for this specific vendor comes and goes in waves. Would definitely come back!

Got 3 smalls to make a flight (Calamansi Corner [fruited gose for $4.50], Positano Pils [Italian Pilsner for $4.50], and a Bohemian Spaceman [Czech Dark Lager for $4.50 which I really liked]), along with a Full of Gandalf the Crisp [New Zealand Pilsner for $7 which I didn't like as much]). The Calamansi Corner we had before, and is the one my wife likes a lot. I saw my mother-in-law sip that same beer TWICE in one sitting, which I've never seen her do before for any beer. Like daughter like mother? My favorite last time was the Baktuns Imperial Stout which I was really looking forward trying with fresh pizza. Alas, they were out and it wasn't available to take home either...need to remember that: if I really like a special edition beer from Ambitious, need to enjoy it as much as possible. Did get 3 four packs of their Grandpapa Kolsch as gifts ($16 each) to spread the word. A good a reason as any to force me to check some bags on our next trip.

We came back to order a drink and because we didn't say the drink name Correctly she screamed at my husband and friend and said " That not what it's called I already told your cousin or brother whoever it is ." Then proceeded to raise her hand and make hand gestures because she was annoyed. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! She needs to learn customer service, and it clearly shows in your reviews that she continues to give bad customer service. Please do better!

Stopped by for lunch before happy hour started. Which is only at the bar area with drinks specials and a few dollars off on bar bites. Anyways, when we arrived everyone was seated on the back patio as they should be as it was a nice afternoon. We got seated along the main glass partition looking out to the path, pier and water. At the start, it was a little slow with service. Once we were taken care of and ordered it was a little better. Menu is pretty reasonable with items. Went with an order of the fish and chips. Nice portion of 3 pieces of fish and battered nicely. Not overly battered and it was quite tasty. And accompanied by seasoned fries which were delicious paired with tater sauce and ketchup. And the poke bowl. I've had that before which was great then and also this time. A decent size bowl with pieces of both tuna and salmon and a couple of halves shrimps. That was paired with edamame, mixed greens, a scoop of white rice, cucumber, carrots and a half of an avocados and a handful of fried onions. The dressing was quite tasty, a poke sauce. Food was good which is always a plus. The view was nice and beautiful but the downfall, the service was very whatever. We barely saw our waitress and trying to get a refill was pretty non existent. Thank goodness for one of the gentlemen cleaning up around us and noticed that our glasses were empty and came over to see if we would like a refill. Besides that, it was great.

Mid week when we arrived which wasn't too crazy. There was no one on the patio which was nice as it gave us first choice for a seat...lol... Everyone was seating inside. The place itself isn't that big. You have the bar area with some bar seating. Then there's a couple of tables inside and of course the patio which is along the sidewalk. Personally I prefer sitting outside for the people watching. The staff were all amazing and very friendly. Places like that make the experiences more enjoyable. You want someone who is friendly and respectful. As we were there early, we grabbed one of the beer which they have quite a good selection on tap. There's also wine if you're not into beer. When it came time to grab some food, we were able to get a table inside. Majority of the breweries tends to serve pretty much the same things, pizza sandwiches and salads. No complaints here. Simple food goes a long way. There were a couple of us so we grabbed a few things to share. Started off with the pretzel balls with cheese dip and honey mustard and the chips with queso cheese dip. Pretzel was tasty and outdid the queso dip. Pizzas of course which were pretty big in sizes. A couple of the pizzas and a salad did four of us with leftovers. Their Hawaiian pizza was quite tasty and was finished. We also ordered one of the mushroom pizzas with an egg. It was tasty but a little on the salty side. The arugula salad was delicious. Simple but tasty. And then there was ham pizza I believe with onions and peppercini. That was also a favorite of the night. Overall, the place was quite fun. Not a big brewery and more intimate. The crowd was great and as most places are very kid and family friendly. There was couple of kids when we arrived. Service was great. Food and drinks were enjoyed and the service and staff were excellent. Street parking available along the front but also along the neighborhood.
