I have very mixed feelings. The ambiance is really great and ive heard it is even better when they have live music. But for me, it's about the beer and I wasnt impressed by anything on the menu or anything I tasted. Im not an IPA person and half of the menu was IPAs. I sampled a few things from the other side and found everything to be too hoppy for my taste. Parking was also difficult - the lot is T-shaped and you get stuck if no spots are open and someone comes behind you, but there is plenty of parking on the street. This is a cool bar and music venue that sometimes hosts live music outside; the night I went to support a band play outside and it was super fun, great crowd, it was cool that they played in the parking lot of the venue so you could chill by picnic tables outside the bar and also go inside for less noise if wanted, There was also a food vendor outside and I got nachos to share which were really good! read more

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Nice chill brewery with friendly people and decent beers. The last time I was here it was still Timeless Pints, which I used to frequent when I worked in the area. The decor had changed, but the place still felt familiar. It was very mellow on a Wednesday evening, which was fine with us. We were there to meet up with a friend and I decided on a flight, as I always do when visiting a brewery for the first time. I got: 562 hazy Golden Lighthfoot Golden Ale Latch hook Jesus American lager Jerk lessons west coast ipa The hazy was quite good and my favorite, and the rest were fine, if not totally memorable. Hubby: smells like friendship Amber lager (seemed a little more bitter than expected) No food truck on this night. With so many good breweries in town I can't say this is a destination-type place for us, but If someone wanted to meet here again I'd have no problems coming back. read more

This is a difficult review to write. Mostly because, I loved Timeless Pints, the brewery that Syncopated purchased and sent TP owners Chris and Mary into retirement (hoping? Hi C and M, hope you are well!). As a loyal TP fan, a TP fanboy?... I wanted to NOT love Syncopated, the place that took MY PLACE away. My "Cheers". Freaking Stacy! How can I POSSIBLY like the space WITHOUT her??? Except: the beer, the ambiance, the patronage, the food at Syncopated. All five stars. As a beer drinker, the variety rates 5/5. As a dark beer aficionado, Syncopated is as good as it gets in LBC. 'Coffee Pants' is extraordinary. Coffee and vanilla notes and smooth as H-E-double hockey sticks, at 7.3% - as close to a perfect coffee porter as you'll find in Long Beach. Or So Cal. Or Anywhere. In the mood for a less dark but strong brew? Go Five 6.2 Hazy IPA (yes, 6.2%) or Jerk Lessons West Coast IPA (6.7%). Both very good. Food: Sync doesn't make their own, but they do invite food trucks regularly and there are lots of delivery options nearby which they welcome. Recommend Me-N-Ed's pizza, just expect a 45-60 minute wait. Order when you get there. Overall... I was not looking forward to writing this, but I was compelled (by Coffee Pants?) to do so. Met friends here on a Friday around 5:00. It wasn't very busy at that time , and the server was supper attentive and friendly. The beers are good and there was a pop up food vender selling delicious street tacos. Later there was live music that was very good. This brewery is not associated with the previous brewery! The head brewer has the same name as the old brewer, but don't let that mislead you. It's worth checking out! They have a nice crowd of people that come in for bingo and are testing out some other events to get people in the door. Customer service was great. Don't skip on this place. Been coming here since their soft opening and thought I already left a review! Syncopated took over the old location of Timeless Pints on the border of LB and Lakewood over by the airport. It's tucked away in an industrial center, like most breweries, and has a decent amount of parking. You'll often find a food truck parked and lots of outdoor seating and a well-ventilated indoor tasting area. Chris, formerly of Ballast Point, is the mastermind brewer behind Syncopated. He was able to pair his passion with Jason of Dutch's Brewhouse, and a winner was born. There is a large draft selection and a variety of beer to please all palates. My first visit to Syncopated Brewing was for the 2024 Brewery Relay hosted by Downtown Runners LB. The race took us to different breweries in Long Beach with the ultimate finish line at Syncopated. There was an amazing DJ, a food truck, sponsor booths... it was a high-energy atmosphere and a LOT of fun! I saw that the brewery hosted a comedy night on the third Friday of every month, so invited two friends to check it out with me. I was hoping for a livelier crowd, but there were about a dozen of us there for the show. The comedians were good and had us laughing. I'm not a big beer drinker, but I enjoyed a very crisp and refreshing Lakewood Lemonade (wheat beer, 4.8% ABV). I would definitely order it again! I really like the open outdoor space of this brewery + easy parking. I hope there are more people there on my next visit. read more

We live close to Syncopated Brewing, so we walked the dogs over Friday night. They are dog & child friendly. They had a few outside tables set-up for a small band and some people had their own camp chairs. Benders Food Truck was also there. Great relaxing way to spend an evening. Loved my two visits to syncopated! First time it was a chill early Saturday with no music or food yet (it was too early for it).. but my husband, baby and I felt very comfortable with the customer service and the beer selections. The person at the bar top also offered us some popcorn to snack on which was amazing. Second time we came was for memorial weekend and it was much busier with live music and BBQ. We weren't a fan of the BBQ sold but loved the atmosphere of the brewery and the crowd. This is becoming our favorite spot. read more

We tried the following: Pre-occupied Ale honey wheat w/oranges (very good) When Jimmy Hands You Lemons wheat w/lemons (good) Nothing but Time brown ale (fair) Golden Lightfoot German style golden ale (good) Sunnyvale Amber Ale (very Good) Wake-up Sleepyhead dry stout w/lactose and coffee (very good) Goin up Yonder American pale (great) Fight Like a Girl saison w/pink peppercorn, lavender and hibiscus (great) The saison and the pale were at the top of our list but the others were a bit disappointing. Out of the ashes of another brewery killed by COVID-19 comes the new Syncopated Brewing. The beers are delicious, and their space is accommodating and open. The beer was super tasty, and they have quite a large & diverse selection of options. I love that they offer 2-ounce tasters for a buck each. What an awesome brewery with such a relaxed feel! We love that there is something for everyone. From sours to IPAs to stouts. Everything that we have tried has been really good quality beer. My favorite by far is the STP tart pale ale, but there hasn't been anything that we didn't love. They have food on location occasionally, but you can also order from Dutches. It has a nice neighborhood brewery feel even though it's in the middle of a bunch of warehouses and offices. The great beerista remembers us and really makes is feel welcome. Friendly beerista and a decent number of patrons were at this new craft brewery. The fact that one of the owners previously worked at Ballast Point appealed to us. Quite a few tables available outside and inside. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of beers on tap. So, we opted for several 2 oz tasters to survey the beerscape. I was glad to have a sour, which was a trend 3-4 years ago and compare it to the "tart pale ale" known as S.T.P. Although I usually enjoy red ales, especially those that don't taste like caramel syrup, I wasn't fond of Red Dragon Tattoo. Instead, the extra dark brown ale called Nothing but Time really got our attention... the flavor was strong and it reminded me of a porter. Perhaps like a strong iced coffee, hold the ice, but not quite as intense as a cold brew. read more
