Menu 10/2025

The service from Thu was excellent. There weren't pickles in the Knife and Fork Burger, which was a little disappointing. The Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich was good and could've benefitted from Arugula or some sort of dense green. I liked the mashed potatoes and an aioli would've complemented the sandwich better. The Ube Painkiller was unique and worth ordering.

Fun Fact: September 8th is 908 Day in Long Beach. The day pays tribute to the city's unique Zip code, which fosters community pride. Hence the name of this restaurant. I ventured out to this neighborhood friendly establishment to meet some darling Yelp ladies for Sunday Brunch. On this lovely day, I encountered a beautiful soul named Feskeli. I wanted to soak up all her energy and carry it in my heart. We were joined by my Yelp sister Te-See - another beautiful soul that lights up the room with her infectious energy. The 908 is spacious with fun, funky artwork on the walls and a fantastic bar that takes center stage. Our server Bubba was awesome! He had a great personality and went the extra mile to ensure my friend's dietary restrictions were addressed. We adored him! I love my martinis with Blue Cheese olives and love them even more when served with a shaker on the side and that's how you get them here. Plus, it's poured at your table. Bonus points for this, and the 908 martini was delish! I typically don't eat until later in the day, so I ordered a side of fruit. The fruit was ripe, sweet, and fresh. It's worth noting that you can also order off the lunch menu during brunch. However, my friends ordered Brunch dishes. One got the 908 Omelet and the other the Classic Breakfast. Both servings were generous and reasonably priced. They enjoyed their meal and we enjoyed our time together. Good food, good drinks, good service, good vibes, & good company make for a perfect day. *Private parking lot. *Happy Hour Mon - Fri 3 pm - 6 pm. *Brunch Sat & Sun 10 am - 2 pm

Lunch at the "908" was delish. The burger was delicious. Clean eating. No sluggish feeling after eating a burger & fries. The ambiance is great. Very stylish. The customer service was great as well. Plenty of parking available. The price point is good for the quality of food you get. I can't wait to go back.

The chicken Caesar salad was amazing. The Customer Service was outstanding , atmosphere was fun and festive with an adult vibe yet kid friendly. The parking was somewhat challenging but not terrible.10/10

Kids pasta with meatballs before tip

Was looking for a brunch spot. I wanted to try something different. Unexpectedly pricey ($100 for appetizer, two entrees and a kids meal of pasta with meatballs before tip). The 908 burger was delicious, picanha steak with chimichurri sauce also good, side of arugula salad also good. Kids meal came with a side (we got the Caesar salad) but the waitress failed to mention it came with a drink. We asked for a glass of milk, after seeing it on the menu. Our waitress seemed somewhat rushed; there were literally just one other table outdoors and maybe two booths occupied indoors. There was another server and he seemed more relaxed and attentive. Open space and patio dining area. Heaters for cooler nights. Good for meeting for business. It's a convenient location for travellers and hotel patrons. Lots of parking and a good space to walk around afterwards.

Chicken Pot Pie

The 908 is one of the full service restaurants at the Long Beach Exchange near the Long Beach Airport serving typical American fare, from burgers and sandwiches to main entrees of fish, pasta and beef with a full bar and lively atmosphere. They also have a seasonal menu which I took full advantage to order their chicken pot pie. Their take on a chicken pot pie was absolutely well presented and delicious. It was chocked full of tender chicken and mixed vegetable in a rich creamy gravy with the flakey puff pastry gave it that contrasting texture that is warm and comforting. Service was very good. The 908 is great for groups as depending upon the size, you can sit in a large open table or an oversized booth. They also offer outdoor seating. They do have oversized TV's in the open bar area to watch sporting events. Parking is plentiful and easy as part of the Long Beach Exchange. The 908 is definitely a great place to meet friends and hang out over good food and cocktails in the Long Beach area.

Lemon drop

Made reservations here with family while visiting Anaheim area. The restaurant has an great atmosphere. Very modern with mood lighting, enough to still see menu. The have a full bar of spirits and wine, did not look for beer (not my thing). We were sat upon arrival as it was not too busy. The waitress greeted us within 3-5 minutes of being sat. I ordered an old fashioned with woodford reserve and my wife had a lemon drop with Tito's. The old fashioned was pretty tasty and bourbon forward (my desire). My wife enjoyed her lemon drop which was a great balance of sweetness and vodka. To eat we had the Short Rib, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and salmón. Short Rib: A tender portion of short rib on top of mashed potatoes and broccolini ( we subbed this for the asparagus). The short Rib was tender with good flavor ( good be deeper), the potatoes were smooth and creamy ( smaller portion than expected), the broccolini was overcooked ( hard to bite ). The dish is served with short rib on top of broccolini on top of potatoes and all covered with a brown gravy. The spicy chicken sandwich is fried in between two brioche buns, the chicken was not overly breaded and is tossed in what tastes like buffalo sauce. Almost tastes like a buffalo wing sandwich with crispy fries. My cousin ate the salmon and I did not get a picture . Was a medium sized salmon filet season with herbs and broccolini (standard with asparagus) and potatoes. Drinks were on point , food was ok, service was excellent.

Came in on a Sunday night & was seated immediately. Service is attentive & drinks are on the sweeter side. Overall a good experience!

908 burger and garlic fries

Lunch here was a decent . I have to give kudos to our excellent server "Bubba". He was super personable and honest. We tried the calamari to start and it was my favorite dish of the afternoon actually. Despite it being very dark in color from the batter used, we were pleasantly surprised at how light and flavorful it actually was! The seared ahi salad was not the best unfortunately. There wasn't much of a sear to the tuna and absolutely no seasoning on it. The salad lacked textures, aside from some edamame. I was disappointed and have had much better. The 908 burger was overcooked despite ordering it medium. Definitely order it medium rare, but it was a decent burger. The garlic fries were delish. I'd visit again and try other items. We enjoyed the music they played during lunch also!

Pistachio Panko Crusted Halibut

We came back to The 908 today to follow up after our first visit, which was a work party at night where the food experience was unfortunately less than pleasant. I'm glad we gave it another shot because this visit was a completely different story. We sat at the bar and had an excellent experience with Sam, who was attentive, personable, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. She suggested the halibut, and it was very good -- nicely crusted with vegetables that were wonderfully seasoned and well balanced. Tiph ordered a cocktail called "So Much Drama," and it was excellent -- flavorful, smooth, and well crafted. The place was busy and clearly not lacking for traffic at this time of day. The atmosphere was bright, vibrant, and lively, and overall this visit was top notch. A great redemption experience, and we'll definitely be back if we're in Long Beach. I'd like to thank Jonathan who encouraged the follow up experience!

Calamari
Alex A.

The place and ambiance are great. Plenty of seating even on a weekend. They have a bar area and outdoor seating. Food selection is great. My only complaint is that their calamari is over cooked (crunchy instead of soft). The manager was kind enough to get it redone.

I'd place 908 Restaurant comfortably in the 3.5-4 star range, with the caveat that I've only experienced it in large group settings. Ambience: 908 shines here. The space is modern, lively, and well-suited for groups, with an energetic but not overwhelming vibe. It feels upscale-casual--nice enough for celebrations or group dinners without being stuffy. Service: Service has been solid overall, especially considering the group size. Orders are handled efficiently, and staff are friendly and attentive, though timing can be a bit uneven at peak moments. Nothing egregious, just the occasional reminder that large parties add complexity. Food: The menu offers good variety, and dishes are consistently enjoyable. Flavors are well-executed, though a few plates feel more "good" than truly standout. Everything I've had has been satisfying, just not always memorable enough to push it firmly into 5-star territory. I have tried the 908 burger and french fries which I do like more than what is posted here. The chicken pot pie sounded really good in the description, but the topping of the pot pie needed a fork and a knife in order to cut through, which was a little disappointing. Overall: A dependable choice for group dining in Long Beach with great atmosphere, good service, and solid food. I'd happily return--especially for gatherings--and would be curious to see how it holds up for a smaller, more intimate meal.

Omar R.

Good food and unique creative takes on good old comfort dishes. We had a work lunch during the week and the dishes were affordable. I had the prime rib sandwich and the quality of the meat was great. What caught me off guard was the amount of horseradish spread inside the bread. It hit me like a brick... my nostrils open up instantly and my brain went haywire. If you order the sandwich, ask for the horseradish on the side so you can spread it yourself and not be caught off guard. The service was excellent, the restaurant itself was very modern, and the ambience was very comfortable.

Leaving The 908 smiling, great ambience, amazing energy, another fantastic meal reminding us why this spot never disappoints.

Plus the food and drink was fabulous! One of the best tea services I've had! The bartender/server was so kind and welcoming letting us know we could be inside or out on the roof when we came in. The roof area was super cute but it was a little warm so we settled on one of the cozy velvet couches. We ordered a little too much but so excited to try it all we started with the charcuterie board. It comes on a cute snail shaped board. Especially loved the honey walnuts and cheese. The tea service comes with tea, mimosa, tea sandwiches, scones, desserts and fruits. You can tell the cucumber and chicken salad sandwiches were made to order. The cucumber is fresh, the right amount of herbs and seasoning! The chicken salad was also amazing! Zingy from what i think was Dijon and both were so moist and delicious! Scones were perfect! The mimosas were yummy and so was the tea. We ordered the oolong and Jasmine tea that came with ginger and butterfly pea syrups! What a whimsical touch that made it all perfect.

When we got there, I felt that the decorations and drinks felt a bit gimmicky, with random fairy tale-esque elements like a throne and massive red roses. I thought it would have been very cool to see Easter eggs and more intentionality bringing the atmosphere together. Since it was an hour before closing, we didn't plan to stay very long. The two people working at the bar were both unwelcoming and seemed upset that we were there (there were other people at the bar, including people who arrived later in the night than us). We paid for our drinks, which cost over $40 for 2 drinks with tip. My cocktail was $17 and came in a glass barely bigger than a shot glass. We left around the time they were calling for last call. I can understand not wanting stragglers who prevent the bartenders from closing late, but I would have much preferred being turned away at the door rather than paying and tipping for an overall unpleasant experience.

Please keep it that way, gas is $5.97/gallon and my wallet is already in therapy.) I handed the valet a $5 tip before I even stepped out of my car, just so I could glide into the lobby feeling like a full‑blown princess making her grand entrance. Before you leave, you simply pay the valet in cash or card and they'll have your car right there before you can even blink. AMBIANCE Walk in and boom! Live music starts at 7 PM, the bar closes at 10, and honestly... that's ideal for those of us over 50 who consider 10 PM the witching hour for pajamas. Rob Fontana was performing tonight, and his music was so good I found myself time‑traveling back to the good old days. Every song hit, Rob. Good job! SERVICE Our server, Nia, was a star. Attentive, sharp memory, and smooth service all the way through. Zero notes. FOOD The menu is small, so if you show up ravenous, pace yourself or plan to Uber home after a cocktail‑heavy evening. I'm allergic to cheese, so I had to double‑check ingredients, but the Mushroom Flatbread was outstanding, flavor was superb and the best part was they did not skimp on the mushrooms! A+ for that. I also tried the Prosciutto di Parma with melon, which is a strange combo for a California girl... but hey, I never said I wasn't a weirdo. Drinks are not my thing since I enjoy company without alcohol's help, so I can't help you with that. DATE‑WORTHY OR NOT? Absolutely. Alter Ego gets a double thumbs‑up from me and a strong recommendation for your next Silver Singles date. False Advertising and Total Failure of a "Speakeasy"…read more This place should not call itself a speakeasy. According to their website, they are strict about dress code, reservations, and no large parties. None of that was enforced. People arrived wearing sports clothes, tennis shoes, and flip-flops, and a group of more than 10 people was allowed in. That group was loud, drunk, and screaming, completely destroying any speakeasy ambiance. We had a reservation booked one week in advance for 2 tables of six, yet by 8:30 pm, we were told no food was available, despite the bar being almost empty. The water was already on the table when we arrived and tasted strongly of chlorine, with no ice. The waitress was clearly new, untrained, and unprepared. She did not know the menu, didn't know how to take an order properly, and provided no guidance whatsoever. There was one bartender Ricardo, who took over an hour to prepare cocktails and showed no sense of urgency or care. The dramatic cocktail descriptions sounded impressive, but the drinks did not match the descriptions at all. Because of the delays, we were never even able to properly toast or celebrate our friend. The charcuterie board took forever and arrived with an absurd amount of cheese and only six pieces of bread. To make things worse, part of the food we ordered never arrived at all. The live jazz band advertised and promised never showed up. When asked, the staff responded with: "I don't know, they were supposed to be here. I don't have their phone number." That level of disorganization is unacceptable. At the end of the night, we were shocked to receive a check close to $600 for two tables, despite each person only having one cocktail and shared food. The bartender, Ricardo, approached us and said: "Well, sorry, we really tried tonight! It wasn't the best, but we tried." Honestly, that comment made the experience even more frustrating. I can't imagine how bad it would have been if they hadn't "tried."That statement perfectly summarizes the problem -- trying is not enough when everything fails. I would not recommend this place for a speakeasy experience. This is not a speakeasy. It's a poorly run bar hiding behind a concept it does not deliver. Do not recommend.

I realize Kinobi can be hard to find at times but If there's a substitution like that, the server should say something when you order the drink or if it's a recipe change, the menu should be updated. Speaking of service, that's what really brought me to write this re view. Before we even ordered we were told that we would only have 90 minutes. That honestly killed the vibe and made us feel rushed. Like the OpenTable confirmation even said we'd have two hours. And for tge rest of our time there our server pretty much ignored us. They forgot some of the food we ordered and shoved the check in our face when they wanted us to leave. I'm guessing they were stretched too thin? I think they need to hire another person to be a server or maybe get an extra bartender and have them wait on the people at the bar. At a bar like this service is everything. Being a Japanese themed bar you'd think they would try to copy the level of service you'd have in Japan. I just moved to the neighborhood and probably won't return after our experience.

1 Star - Worst Experience I've Ever Had at a Bar…read more I've been to The Blind Donkey in downtown Long Beach before but what happened last night deserves to be shared. I came here with a friend last night and ordered a blonde beer that tasted completely off -- it genuinely tasted like blue cheese. My friend encouraged me to ask for a replacement since something was clearly wrong with it. When she brought it to the bar, the bartender told her he'd replace it and that it was on the house, but then made her pay for the second drink anyway. If I had known she'd still be charged, I would've just not asked for another drink. When I came up to the bar to clarify why she paid for something he said was comped, the bartender backtracked and said he "didn't mean" that. I asked if they could void the second charge, since this was supposed to be a simple replacement. He kept explaining that he is charging us for this second one because it was not a blonde, it was a white ale. I told him that's fine, but why did he say it was "on the house" and now charging us anyway? He ended up bringing over the manager. The manager was a short, Latino man with a hat on. He was incredibly rude from the moment he arrived explaining the beer was a blonde- which I know what I ordered, but tasted whack. He didn't look at us, didn't listen to anything we were saying, and without asking a single question he grabbed both drinks we paid for and dumped them down the drain. We were stunned -- we paid for both of them and now had nothing. When he came back, I calmly told him we paid for both drinks he just threw out. His response? "Don't expect to come here and get free drinks." Which is wild considering we never asked for anything free -- we were just trying to get the mistaken charge fixed. When I told him he needed to void the drink he dumped, he called security on us. We weren't loud, drunk, or confrontational. Security refused to give us the manager's name, and only one finally whispered "Ken," though at that point it felt like they were just saying anything to get us out the door. I've worked in customer-facing roles before. I understand dive bars aren't known for luxury service, but this wasn't about service -- it was about basic respect, integrity, and not charging customers for drinks you throw away yourself. I'm leaving this review as a Long Beach local, it's saddening to see how a popular bar like The Blind Donkey treats their customers. This was the worst experience I've ever had.

Port City Tavern in Long Beach is one of those spots that always has something going on. There's…read morealmost always an event or gathering happening out in their parking area, which gives it a really fun, lively vibe. What I really appreciate is that sometimes it's even kid-friendly, which makes it a great option if you're not just going out solo or with friends. I've been coming around since back when it was Iguana Kelly's, and it's been cool to see how the place has evolved while still keeping that local, neighborhood feel. The location is super easy to find, right next to a donut shop and a mechanic, and across the street you've got a 7-Eleven, Subway, and a few other small spots. Plus, Tommy's Burgers and an Arco are right nearby, so everything you might need is within reach. I tried both the cucumber mixed drink and the mango mixed drink, both were really good, but I personally preferred the cucumber one. It's less sweet and way more refreshing, especially if you're not into overly sugary drinks. We also had a BBQ chicken pizza that they cook in a fire oven (I think it's called a wood-fired pizza), and it was really good, definitely worth trying if you go. Service was good During the outdoor event, they had things set up really well, including a sign that read "21 and over beyond this point only," which helped keep things organized. They also had jumpers outside for the little ones to enjoy, along with tables and chairs so everyone could hang out comfortably. Parking can be a bit tight in their lot, but there's always street parking if you take a minute to read the signs. Overall, it's a great hangout spot with a welcoming atmosphere and something happening more often than not. Definitely worth checking out.
