The food here exceeded my expectations. The ribeye was cooked perfectly with a great sear and was incredibly tender and flavorful. We also ordered the ube Basque cheesecake, and it was easily one of the best desserts I've had recently--rich, creamy, and not too sweet. Our server, Sergio, made the experience even better. He was friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations without making us feel rushed. The restaurant has a comfortable atmosphere that's great for date night or dinner with friends. After enduring weeks of record breaking heat in Long Beach, this was the perfect place to land as the Summer Breeze... Makes Me Feel Fineeee again. A very well but gently lit space that still feels cozy and spacious. The outside gives no indication of how well the inside has been designed. Great for lunch or dinner dates. Noise level was low and there's no feeling of a chaotic restaurant environment. Food/Service 1-5: 4.8 I order the shrimp and lobsters fettuccine, bone marrow as an appetizer. My company ordered the lamb burger. All dishes we beautifully plated; true works of art. Neither of us had any complaints about presentation and creativity. As far as taste and as excited as we were to dig in to our food, the ONLY setback was the lack of seasoning mainly salt. I'm aware that a Chef does their best to meet the expectations of their guest. I'm also aware that meeting everyone's expectations is impossible. To confirm my advice of needing some salt in the food I patrons the restaurant twice, two days in a row. First things first- I am a steak guy and rarely go to a steak house since I feel like I can always make a better one at home and for less. But every now and then, I will get the urge to go to a steak house only to realize, yes, I still rather have steaks at home and will put off going again for awhile. Our experience: When we walked in with no reservations and they said they only had tables available outside. Fine. When I asked if there were any tables available inside, I was told no due to them having a lot of reservations. Please keep in mind, there were plenty of tables/booths open. It had rained today and our table was still a little wet on the outer portion. Not a huge deal as we assumed it was just drops from the patio cover. A little after being seated, our server told us she had asked the manager and we would be able to sit inside but at this point we declined. We ate our meal and by the time we left, I noticed the restaurant was still pretty empty (maybe 4-6 parties). So what happened to all the reservations preventing us from being seated inside at the start? The serving staff were friendly and checked on us plenty of times without being overbearing. On to the food. We ordered the poke wraps, kids pasta, ribeye house butchered, and prime rib. My daughter said that the pasta did not have enough flavor and barely touched it. My wife said the ribeye was ok and it seemed to be cooked to the correct temp/doneness (med rare). My prime rib was honestly, pretty bland and over cooked. I ordered med rare it was more on the med side. Au jus was very light and didn't add much to my plate. The asparagus was cooked well but lacked salt. This has always been a solid 4 stars for me here. Food and drinks are consistently good. But nothing that really makes me crave to come back. The Raised by Wolves cocktail is a tried and true cocktail. If you like a bit of spice, order this one! I also tried the ube cocktail this time. I was hesitant when I saw it come out as a candy blue looming drink. But it tastes creamier than it looks. And not as sweet as it looks. It's decently balanced. Looks like melted snow cone. The last time we came here, what made me take a star away was just the over all price and service. Cocktails are $18 and that is really steep for an every day kind of cocktail. If I'm paying $18, I'd like it to be a special occasion but this isn't exactly that. It's elevated but not that much. And service from Daniel was good. First time here which was great. I've walked by a few times while at the hangers. It was still pretty early when we stopped by which also happened to be happy hour. The hostess was quite sweet when we walked in. As we had our little fur baby with us, we were seated at one of the tables on the patio. It was still early and that in-between time so it was pretty quiet. A large party was set up next to us. Melinda took care of us and she was the sweetest. Happy hour was happening which we took advantage of. It was 4.00 off appetizer, 2.00 off draft wine and beer. Also, they made sure that our little pup was well taken care of as well. Food wise, an order of the poke wrap. Nice chunks of ahi with a scoop of rice, lettuce, avocado and wasabi sauce. It was good but a little messy. As it would be with all of the lettuce wraps. The steamed mussels which is a must. The broth was delicious and served with two nice thick slices of toasted bread. Decent size mussels cooked deliciously in the broth. A must try. Came here for happy hour with a friend though we didn't even know they had happy hour till we saw the menu. It runs from 3-6 on weekdays and is basically $4 off cocktails and appetizers. The cocktails are normally $18 and this brought it down to $14. Still expensive for a drink but the old fashioneds were made well. Loved the large booths which were made for groups and comfy. The restaurant had a large airy feel to it. Service was good and the waiter checked on us a couple times and was quick to grab the bill when we asked for it. For our app, we shared the spicy tuna crispy rice stack. It was so good and not too oily. Loved that it was topped with thai chilis and even came with some pickles. I came in for an elevated yet casual place to eat tonight at The 908. I've been many times and I love they change their menu semi frequently to keep things fresh! I made a reservation for 10 people and was thoroughly impressed with how they handled our party. We were able to get separate checks. In the morning they called to confirm whether or not we wanted to sit outside. They also asked if it was a special occasion. It was. We decided to celebrate my son's birthday at The 908 and really glad we did. The restaurant has a modern look and felt welcoming. We had a reservation for six and the hostess greeted us and sat us right away. Our server, Nate, was fantastic. He knew the menu and answered all of our questions. He even explained how some of the drinks were made. Later we found out he was actually one of the bartenders helping out as a server for the night. Which made sense considering how well he knew how the drinks were made. He was attentive and checked on us often to make sure everything was going well. One thing that made him stand out was, he actually conversed with us rather than just asking if we needed anything and then leaving. The Old Fashioned was one of the smoothest and best I've probably ever had. My nephew ordered the Ube Painkiller after Nate described how it was made. I had a sip, and the ube flavor really came through without overpowering the drink and it was perfectly matched with the dark rum, which Nate said came from the Caribbean. The Brussels sprouts had a nice mix of tender and crispy pieces that gave additional texture. The calamari was tender and the pesto style sauce paired real good with it. The Thai curry sea bass was flavorful, flaky, and had the right amount of spice. The cioppino had a rich shellfish flavor in the broth and I appreciated that the tomato base didn't have such an acidic taste. Super picky when I go out to eat but came with 6 others and we were all pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed eveything I tasted and so did the others, I did think the calamari was not my favorite starter but that's because I have been spoiled with super juicy and tender calamari. Short Rib: A tender portion of short rib on top of mashed potatoes and broccolini ( we subbed this for the asparagus). The short Rib was tender with good flavor ( good be deeper), the potatoes were smooth and creamy ( smaller portion than expected), the broccolini was overcooked ( hard to bite ). The dish is served with short rib on top of broccolini on top of potatoes and all covered with a brown gravy. The spicy chicken sandwich is fried in between two brioche buns, the chicken was not overly breaded and is tossed in what tastes like buffalo sauce. Almost tastes like a buffalo wing sandwich with crispy fries. My cousin ate the salmon and I did not get a picture . We tried the calamari to start and it was my favorite dish of the afternoon actually. There wasn't much of a sear to the tuna and absolutely no seasoning on it. The salad lacked textures, aside from some edamame. I was disappointed and have had much better. I'm glad we gave it another shot because this visit was a completely different story. We sat at the bar and had an excellent experience with Sam, who was attentive, personable, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. She suggested the halibut, and it was very good -- nicely crusted with vegetables that were wonderfully seasoned and well balanced. Tiph ordered a cocktail called "So Much Drama," and it was excellent -- flavorful, smooth, and well crafted. The place was busy and clearly not lacking for traffic at this time of day. The atmosphere was bright, vibrant, and lively, and overall this visit was top notch. A great redemption experience, and we'll definitely be back if we're in Long Beach. My husband and I have visited 908 four times before, and unfortunately our past experiences were disappointing. One visit we waited over 40 minutes without being acknowledged, another time our order came out wrong, and another time the food arrived cold like it had been sitting for quite a while. I noticed the filet mignon on the menu paired with broccolini and decided to go for it. From the moment we walked in, the experience felt completely different. The hostess was warm and welcoming and seated us immediately. A young man came over right away with waters and took our drink order, which already surprised us in the best way. Then Alex S came to our table, and he truly made the night exceptional. He was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful in making sure my order was exactly how I wanted it. I mentioned that I didn't want a large piece of butter melting over the steak, and he happily accommodated that request. He even checked on the exact ounce size of the filet for me, which I appreciated. We ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer, and honestly, they were the best Brussels sprouts we've ever had. Perfectly cooked, not drowning in sauce, and absolutely packed with flavor. My 8 oz filet mignon was cooked perfectly medium rare, exactly as ordered. The broccolini was crisp, fresh, and not overly oily. Everything tasted thoughtful, balanced, and worth every dollar. Most importantly, Alex S delivered spectacular service from start to finish. We were genuinely shocked to learn this was his first night shift because he handled the dining room with professionalism, warmth, and confidence far beyond what we expected. I had a late lunch on the patio with a friend who was staying at a nearby hotel. The restaurant is located at the lively Long Beach Exchange and the menu has a wide variety of options. Our appetizer of artichoke flowers was tasty, though service was a bit slow. My lobster roll had big chunks of meat but the temperature was cooler than expected. Visited 908, while in Long Beach, and I enjoyed my visit. The atmosphere is large and inviting. The doors are open so you get fresh air rolling through and you can dine inside or outside. I ordered a Minosa flight and the Knife N' Fork Burger. The burger was a great size and filled with goodness. They added a balsamic glaze in my burger (which wasn't listed on the menu) but I enjoyed it as it almost became a Caprese burger. It was very tasty and the fries were very fresh and delicious. As for the Mimosa flight, it was $18 and not worth the money. It came with your choice of 2 juices and two small containers of sparkling wine. When poured into the glass given, you only get about 1/2 filled sparkling wine total. Other than that, the establishment was clean and service was attentive. I may come back again but I doubt I'd order any fancy drinks. I'd spend my money on food. read more

Been here a handful of times. First the good: Parking is easily found in front or back or on the street. There's an outdoor patio area where our little pup was allowed. The bar area has a good amount of seats and 2-3 large screens to watch sports while enjoying drinks. All times I was there it was easy to get seated but there was also just the 2 of us. Now the food/drinks.. First time I came here was just for drinks at the bar. The Cold Brew Martini was amazing and is one of my go-tos when I'm craving an espresso martini or coffee drink. I also ordered the Post Melon, again well mixed, good punch of melon, easy to drink. I've had the bone marrow which was more bread than marrow, was barely enough for a serving and a half for 2 people... wouldn't get this again. The Tomahawk came with 2 sides which were good but didn't have that much flavor except for the outside rub. Overall an ok meal but it's not something I was amazed by.
