This place transported me back to Tulum. The atmosphere felt like a vacation. The music, the drinks, the food, and the staff were all excellent. We ordered the salmon bites, Baja fish tacos with rice and beans and the seafood pasta. The salmon bites were good but just slightly dry/over cooked. The sauce on the side made them slightly better. The Baja tacos were amazing. The toppings (including the salsa on the side) were the perfect mix of savory, sweet, and spicy. The pasta had a good amount of protein/ seafood and great portion size for leftovers. I went on a Saturday evening so there was live music on the inside and a TV + music playing on the outdoor patio. This place offers great vibes and great food. I recommend it if you're in the Long Beach area. Try to make reservations ahead of time because it gets crowded at night. read more

Visited Luna twice while I was in Long Beach and a great spot for Happy Hour. Received excellent service from both Natalie and Carla during my two visits. The cocktails are nicely crafted, great for photos, but on the lighter side, as far as alcohol goes. I tried the Pineapple Paloma, Mezcalita, and Paloma Blanca. The Happy Hour food was incredible! I tried the Carnitas tacos and the Baja fish tacos and they were both exceptional. I had to take a few things off, due to an allergy, so you will also get pico, and salsa on top as well. The interior is large, spacious, and very modern with a lot of cloud motifs. Service was fine, though our waitress completely forgot our water refill request. We ordered mini fish tacos off of the Happy Hour menu, plus salmon bites and The Favorite Salad from the regular menu. Everything was tasty though to me portions were just okay for the price. Presentation was definitely gorgeous though. The Mango Lemonade and Triple Berry Hibiscus drinks were tasty but a bit small for $6 considering they were non-alcoholic drinks. Overall, Luna is a bit on the pricier side but the atmosphere is elegant and refined while still not being uptight. Stopped here for Sunday brunch after a recommendation from a friend that lives in Long Beach. The restaurant is somewhat hidden, but once you're inside it's a bright space with great decor that says tropical vibes. Their were a lot of food choices for me, which made it difficult since I love Mexican food, but I ordered the steak Al sur and the steak was very tender and flavor the carnitas enchilada was a bit dry for me. To my surprise they had happy hour from 2-5 which was PERFECT! Ordered what I think is THE BEST drink on the menu...Banana Espresso Martini and a few appetizers off the happy hour menu. However, we sat on the patio, which was a great choice, and the music added to the fun, laid-back vibe. Service was okay but inconsistent, no water refills and minimal check-ins. Nothing terrible, but it could be more attentive. The food was the highlight. We ordered fish tacos, ceviche, salt & pepper wings, and the naughty fries, plus a peach lemon drop and dirty martini. Everything was fresh and well presented. The ceviche was light and refreshing, wings were crispy, and the fish tacos were flavorful--but the naughty fries were the standout. You wouldn't think this gem was tucked into this strip mall. The food prices were reasonable and speaking of food, everything we ordered was delicious. The carnitas sliders were probably the highlights, with a dreamy sauce and jalapeños, we devoured them. The ceviche has a nice spice, and was prepared great. I ordered a carajillo that came with an orange twist and it brought out the coffee notes tremendously. Horrible experience with Luna Bistro + staff. I spoke directly with someone on their team and had a confirmed reservation via text and toast for my son's baptism dinner. Based on that confirmation, I went ahead and spent money printing and sending out invitations to family and friends. Only to later be told they are canceling on me. This is completely unacceptable. You don't confirm a reservation for an important event like this and then back out after the customer has already made real plans and financial commitments. Not only that, but when explaining this to them they do not care nor show any empathy at ALL. That's not just poor service - it's careless and unprofessional. And being told this happened because it's "your busiest day of the year" is not an excuse. If your staff is booking events they shouldn't be, that's a management and training issue -- not the customer's fault. Do not trust this restaurant. They do not prioritize customer satisfaction or keeping keeping their word. It feels like once something more profitable comes along, your reservation no longer matters. Horrible Horrible experience. I've been here twice now and can say I've enjoyed both experiences. The ambiance is super cute- kind of like Tulum or Greece vibes. The cocktails are amazing. I recommend the Banana Cream Espresso Martini and the Dirty Martini. My friend did express that the Luna Guava Margarita was pretty strong (not a bad thing). I finally made it to Luna for Taco Tuesday and Happy Hour! I arrived around 3:00 PM when it wasn't busy yet. While the atmosphere is stunning, the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. 5/5 Margarita: It was tasty & refreshing. Fresh with a dried lime wedge, pretty too. Perfect amount of salt. 4/5 Crunch tacos: the salsa makes it juicy, could of used cotija cheese 5/5 Daviola Shrimp, garlicky, medium spice and delicious 5/5 Kids Smash Burger, kiddo loves their burger, meaty and a great size 5/5 Flan, it's one of the best I've had. Order it 3/5 The Service: I was seated at a small 2-top in the center of the room; as a parent with a toddler, a booth or a high chair offer would have made a huge difference. My initial server was quite stoic and slow to take my order, though she warmed up after I asked for her name. Additionally, I was incorrectly charged full price for a Happy Hour beer by my second server Hailey. I still tipped 20%, but for a $95 bill, I expected a bit more "hospitality" but will say my water was replenished at all times. I want to love this place for the vibes and the kitchen quality, but I'm hoping for better service ethics next time. I ordered the Filete Los Cabos con Camarones (grilled white fish filet with shrimp, jalapeño-garlic butter, lemon, and herbs) served with rice and sautéed veggies. Absolutely delicious! I also had the Oaxacan Moon, a mezcal-based cocktail--so good and not overly sweet. Unfortunately, the service brought the experience down. We tried ordering dessert for my birthday so my family could sing happy birthday to me, but after what felt like an eternity waiting for a simple slice of cheesecake, we finally told our waitress to cancel it. We also had to ask multiple times for utensils because several people in our group didn't receive any. The service really missed the mark and definitely impacted my birthday experience. I came here to celebrate my 40thbday. I had to make a reservation for the outside patio, the person that helped me said that the outside patio wasn't completely private so anybody walking in could get a table and stay there, I was delighted to know that we had no strangers staying over the patio. The reservation is for two hours, $100 non refundable. There was also another option but that was out of my budget but it did have more perks to it. My friends and family really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. The only thing is that I noticed towards the end because I was so busy is there was no music in my area, they turned off the music. Luna bistro is also kid friendly, we had a handful of kids and it was enclosed and the selection of food for kids was great!! I did like how there were a couple of tvs for the sports fanatics!! They were warm and friendly This gorgeous place is conveniently located right off PCH in a private parking lot (free parking) I loved the atmosphere, I thought the bar was really nice. I liked the lighting and greenery everywhere Our waitress, Maria came by and asked if we wanted to put in food or drinks I ordered -naughty fries -smash burger sliders -evil queens martini which was part of their autumn cocktail menu -michelle ordered the Pink Guava Lemonade The starters actually came out after our food. So drinks were a little slow. I was thrilled that our food came out that fast though. Maria took our entrée order. I ordered -Garlic Parmesan Cream (penne in garlic Parmesan sauce) -michelle ordered the pesto mozzarella chicken (Again, our food came out extremely fast) I put in another cocktail order and picked the - banana cream espresso martini. Maria was helpful with the cocktail menu and suggestions for that And then last but not least. They don't have a dessert menu, but they offer flan and they have a Tres leches cheesecake. We went with the Tres leches cheesecake and I told them we were celebrating Michelle's birthday so it came out with a sparkler I actually think the prices are really good. The portions are great too. I left with a good amount of left overs I'd love to come back for dinner to check out that crowd and there's a couple other cocktails and food items I want to try.
