I was excited to come here and i think this is a solid place to come and dine. The front desk greeted us warmly and seated right away. We had a reservation made in open table. The place feels casual with a modern feel, space is open and the table spacing was adequate, although we can hear the conversations around us, we were still able to hold a conversation of our own. Now on with the food, we ordered a chopped salad to start and main meal was blue oyster pizza and short rib parpadelle. The parpadelle was too al dente for my preference and a bit of a kick which i was not expecting, it was good but I wasn't even interested in taking my leftover home. Pizza was good wood fired, it just feels the pizza crust and toppings ratio was off, it was more pizza than the toppings and the crust was not crunchy for my liking. But it was thin and has a good wood fire cook. I think these are difference in preference. The best part is the cheesecake so I would not skip on that paired with a cappuccino it was delicious. Service was excellent everyone was friendly and checks in appropriately, i didn't have to flag anyone for water. Overall, a solid rating from me.

Marlena might be one of the best spots you may have never heard of, it's such a sleeper! I've been spending more time around the Long Beach area recently and this spot as the best ranch I've ever tried (made in house with a few special ingredients). The pizzas here are phenomenal as well, and the service is very fast in front friendly. The ambiance is nice, and they have parking! (Not a huge lot though.) I highly recommend the red sauce pizzas, that's definitely where it's at. It might have one of the best margarita pizzas in LA! Also, our waitress was so funny and charming, bonus points on the service there, haha. Food: 4.5/5 Drinks: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 Value: 4/5 Overall: 4.5/5

Tucked just off of 2nd Street in Naples, Marlena feels like an oasis with awesome food to match. I love the open-air patio seating, perfect for a late summer evening. I came for my first time on my birthday and it felt perfect! Chicories & Apple Salad [ ] a great balance of bitter and sweet, [ ] the goat cheese and dressing acts as a nice neutral buffer [ ] Very fresh Roasted Baby Yams [ ] Favorite dish, though I believe it's seasonal! [ ] Perfect for plant-forward eaters, the smokey seared skin of the yam gives it a hearty meat-like flavor [ ] Pistachio Pesto adds texture and zest I also tried a white fish as an entree (no longer on menu). The preparation was amazing with crispy skin, though the flavor profile wasn't my favorite (I should have went with my server's recommendation).

Such a cool neighborhood bar and restaurant in Naples, I feel like it's a hidden gem being out of sight from the road. It's a perfect date spot with immaculate vibes and a cool modern mediterranean aesthetic feel. I made a reservation here for a date night and a seperate Valentines brunch. First time I came here, we tried their Bolognese spaghetti and one of their caesar salad. The spaghetti was salty and the caesar was tasty, I should've added a protein on this. Overall a pretty good experience but not enough that we tried to get the full experience. For Brunch, Marlena goes absolutely crazy! We got their Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, the blueberry compete was a good touch. The Rosti was amazing, the cilantro lebni sauce was so unique and enjoyed how it sat on a hashbrown. I would get this again forsure. Then to finish it off, I got the breakfast sandwich which was so flavorful, the laminated biscuit was soft and the bacon was like that thickly cut one that melts in your mouth. All of their breakfast items were great and the whole menu sounded delicious. When we asked our waiter what he recommends, he just read off the whole menu haha. We would pass on coming for dinner again though.

Ever since my friend, Lynn told me about this place I've been craving it! I'm always on the hunt for good pizza places in Long Beach (let's get real, California doesn't usually shine in the pizza category) This place is an absolute pizza gem I came here on a Friday with Jay S. I made a reservation which was really easy and I highly recommend it, the place was packed. They also have private parking and street parking The whole atmosphere is great. I love the modern layout and it had great lighting. The place was extremely clean as well. We got seated immediately and everyone was extremely nice especially Elyse (who was our main waitress) and Joaquin who kept coming around bringing us our food and checking on us. 5 stars for them To be honest, I really was hoping they had more pasta options. But, their pizza options made up for it. I started off with ordering a cocktail recommended by Elyse -LIMONANA Egyptian-style creamy limeade and mint. You then get to pick which alcohol you want. I went with vodka, obviously. This was extremely dangerous! I could have had 10 of these. It was so refreshing. I haven't had a good cocktail like this in a while. They also recommend it as a mocktail. It tasted just like a Brazilian lemonade 10/10 And the Las Manzas- Tequila, manzanilla, lemon juice, apple syrup, soda and cinnamon Then it was pizza time! -Mozzarella, bianco tomato, basil, olive oil (this was pretty much a Margherita pizza) the pizza sauce on this was outstanding. It was so incredibly fresh, the seasoning and everything about it was literal perfection. Don't get me started on the crust! Then - Blue oyster mushrooms, porcini crean fontina, olives, marjoram Also, had to get ranch to dip the crust in. The ranch is homemade and you could tell it was homemade with dill but it also had this amazing unique warmth to it. Our waitress, Elyse told us it was a Moroccan blend of spices and it also had cinnamon in it (trust me, it works) perfect 10/10 And for dessert! I'm embarrassed to admit this was my first time trying -Basque cheesecake. Which, was delicious. Since it was my first time trying it, I can't say if it was the best or not. this is a great date night or out with your girlfriends type of spot I really want to try some of their other pizzas. They had so many amazing ones -They also have a happy hour -Brunch -Again, they take reservations and I highly recommend them on the weekend. The only time they could fit us in on a Friday was at 8:45 -they have Gluten free options for the pizzas -service was great! Elyse was amazing and helpful. I have heard service can be hit or miss. -bonus points for private parking lot -bathrooms were clean -really nice layout -this place can also be dressed up or dressed down -I will absolutely be returning

First time trying out their Happy Hour! We have been to many dinners and Brunches at Marlena and always impressed at the food, service, and cocktail program! Their Happy Hour includes some very creative cocktails and appetizers! Service was excellent! Matt was our server and bartender! He suggested great drinks and appetizers! When we finished up dinner was just starting up. We weren't hungry but wished we were to order off the main menu too! Only the Happy Hour Menu is available but if you are their into.the dinner start, the full menu is avaliable. I will say the Happy Hour Menu has plenty on it for options to fill you up and also enjoy a variety of bites! We ordered several appetizers served on Crostini. Marinated Olives and meatballs. We all had lunch just hours before. Next time definitely going hungry as I would love to try out their cheese & charcuterie board! For cocktails we tried the Varquero (interesting and tasting spin on a Margarita!): Don't Telli (smooth spin on an Espresso Martini): and a Bournon Old Fashion. All were so good and very smooth!

5 stars for decor, ambiance and service but the food was just okay. We went for Happy Hour but we will be back for dinner. The interior is beautiful with lots of outdoor seating, greenery and pet friendly. The Happy Hour menu is very limited.

3.5 stars for me. I've dined at Marlena a couple of times now and have mixed feelings. Most of the drinks and dishes were outstanding. Service was a bit inconsistent. During my last visit, our server seemed like she didn't want to be there. We asked for a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and she tried to up charge us with a $200 bottle of Chardonnay. We went with a $50 bottle that was more light and crisp, like a Sauv Blanc that we wanted. From that moment, she seemed to give us a judgmental attitude and bad vibes whenever she came back to our table. The Grilled Spanish Octopus was one of the best I've had. The octopus was incredibly tender and the romesco sauce was rich and creamy. The Roasted Baby Yams with pistachio pesto, fennel and maldon was bursting with flavors and textures. Their pizzas are Neapolitan style with soft, thin crusts and fresh toppings. I loved the combination of the Prosciutto, piquillo puree, peperonata, stracchino, hot honey, and arugula. The pistachio-crusted Australian rack of lamb was cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection with spiced labneh and couscous. The Burnt Basque Cheesecake was okay. Their cocktails are creatively crafted, not too sweet and currently priced at $17. My favorites are the Marlena Martini with vodka, dry vermouth, thyme liqueur, orange bitters, salt and the Vaquero with tequila, mezcal, lime, orgeat, absinthe and mint. Both are strong, but balanced. While I really liked the dishes, drinks and the ambience, which is mostly a romantic patio setting with plenty of heat lamps, our miserable server left a bad taste in our mouths.

Genuinely could not recommend this place enough. The staff is ridiculously friendly. Parking was easy to find in the neighborhood and I went with my friend who is a local and we did a cute little walky walk around Naples neighborhood and took a look at all the stunning houses and cute Halloween decorations they had up. The restaurant is all outdoors. We went at night and it's beautiful. The ambiance is romantic and chic. Everyone in the restaurant seemed to be having a blast. The food is amazing. We ordered the little gem lettuce salad which had anchovies and was dressed to perfection. The gem lettuce was so crispy and refreshing. Then we got the prosciutto hot honey pizza which tasted exactly how I wanted it to taste... perfect. The hot honey was addicting. And loved how it was topped with arugula. We also ordered a beef tartare which uses thicker pieces of meat. This one wasn't our favorite. It could use a bit of salt and the veggies I don't think paired the best with the meat but I loved the Parmesan chip on the side and it tasted really healthy at least. I really wanted an affogato but they only had caramel or chocolate ice cream but I'm a vanilla girly so that was sad. Def loved this restaurant and highly recommend for a cute little date night or girl dinner. They are extremely dog friendly here which is so so nice to have.

I'll admit, I'm not very knowledgeable about what there is to do in the 562 so I had to do what I always do before doing absolutely ANYTHING: Consult Reddit. Buying a water bottle? Bread? Toothpaste? Reddit. While Reddit has failed me a couple times last month, last night was not the case! I discovered Marlena from a post almost a year ago. It was 9 PM and I was parked in a random shopping center a mile away. I gave the yelp a quick look and said screw it. I trust you random internet strangers. Fortunately they pulled through this time. My friend and I ordered meatballs to start off with, a pizza, and Maine lobster ravioli. Pachamama Pork Meatballs: An excellent dish to start off our meal. The meatballs were juicy with a nice chew. Not overly dense and dry; they were just right. The sauce was spot-on. Very balanced. The bread had the perfect amount of char with just a kiss of smoke from the grill. There was an interesting after taste with the meatballs though which was reminiscent of something medicinal I've had before, but I couldn't figure it out. It wasn't bad or off-putting, but it did linger a bit. My friend didn't notice it at first, but after I pointed it out, they began to notice it too. Again, not bad, but just sorta curious as to what it might be. Prosciutto, piquillo puree, peperonata, stracchino, hot honey, arugula pizza: I was floored at how delicious this pizza was. I recently ate at a pizzeria in West LA that was supposedly #1 in the city (country maybe?) and that was such a massive disappointment. The pizza here last night made up for it completely. All the ingredients on the pizza, all the flavors, the dough; everything just working together to make the most addictive thing I've had in awhile. Maine lobster ravioli: Out of the 3, I have to say this one was the most lacking. I loved that they were "generous" with the ravioli since a lot of places only give you literally like 3-4 pieces which is why I'm always very skeptical about ordering ravioli. Flavor wise, it was all there. It just needed some salt to highlight the dish to really make it stand out. Not bad though. However, the sauce was maybe just a little too "simple" for my preference. Service was great! Our server was really friendly and the person I spoke to over the phone was nice too. Although I did sense a little bit of passive-aggressiveness when I spoke to the host to be seated. Listen, I get it. I used to work in food too and it sucks when people come in right before closing, but I arrived with a solid hour to go and I called see when the kitchen was closing. If it was close to closing, that would've been a no-brainer to come back a different night. Anyway, I can't wait to come back in the very near future! I have a few items on the menu I would love to try. I just wish I discovered this place during summer! It would be such a nice place to do some daydrinking on a nice day or lounge at during a warm summer night.

The best olive oil chocolate Cake! Perfectly moist. Not overly sweet. The light cream on top is chefs kiss!

This place is so amazing! The food is so fresh and the chef takes rewarding risks with his recipes. The Josper truly is so special and gives all the meat a beautiful char. To top it off, they have quite literally the best chocolate cake that I have ever had. And I have had many chocolate cakes! As long as this cake is on the menu I will make to always get it!

Went today for the first time trying their coffee and pastries. They have a very cool indoor/outdoor restaurant with a great bar and always very clean with great service. We were the only ones there so of course quick and great service. I liked the cups they served the coffee in and the fresh pastry. This place is in my neighborhood so I will visit frequently.

Fantastic Mother's Day dinner! We ordered a lot, and loved almost everything. The highlights were the olives, the pesto pasta and the stuffed dorade. My kids loved the margarita pizza and the Brussels were very good as well. The little gems was very nice too. We didn't love the mushroom pizza (too much cheese and not enough mushroom) and the cauliflower was a little salty. For dessert we had the strawberry shortcake special (so good!) and soft serve gelato (not my favorite). The service was excellent and the restaurant was beautifully. Really wonderful spot!

You're telling me dozens of people are stuck waiting forever while there's plenty of room inside? It's giving manufactured crowd and poor management. The location and views are beautiful, but the overall experience would have benefited from more attentive service.

The food was fantastic, and the service was just as good. One thing that stood out was chatting with the hostess, who had actually moved here from Spain for the job. It added an authentic touch to the experience. The harbor views are beautiful, I was also pleasantly surprised to find out they're dog friendly! To top it all off, the staff surprised me with a birthday dessert and candle, which made the evening feel extra special.

What a beautiful surprise, as we stepped inside of this gorgeous restaurant! The entrance and winding path easily had me at hello! Miso Greens Salad | I'm a salad girl and this is definitely a memorable bite! Between the juicy slices of mango, crispy wontons strips, red pepper, tangy miso dressing and more... I was craving each bite one after the other with the quickness! Haha! Every single bite and I'm not kidding, was absolutely delicious, bursting with flavor, & mouth watering! I would 100% get the salad again and highly recommend it! Decor | Beautiful! What a stunning restaurant! I found myself looking around constantly! The lighting, presence of Buddhas sprinkled throughout, cozy seating with colorful pillows, wood interior, the colorful lighting... and don't even get me started on the gorgeous waterfront views! Tantalum easily transports your senses to Indonesia via food and atmosphere! I'm all for it and loved every moment of it! Customer Service | Irma was incredibly friendly and helpful with the menu! Thanks again for helping me decide between the heirloom tomato salad and the miso green salad; tried something new! Overall | Yes, please! If a single salad was so memorable, I can only imagine a full meal! I'm looking forward to exploring more of the menu on my next visit! Let's go!

As a long time patron, I had to give them another chance after the bloodbath of mothers day…read more It was a Monday, so probably not a fair comparison, but service was excellent and so was most of the food. We overtipped, to probably compensate for our last visit. However, the new kitchen manager has clearly changed the calamari (10/10 before, 3/10 now, to the point I felt embarrassed that I'd waxed poetic about it to my out of town guests, who didn't have more than a few pieces, and the ones I ate were just to kind of toe a line), and this is pedantic, but sesame buns for the sliders was a weird choice. So they're no longer on my shitlist, but I do think I'm going to need to try different go-tos. I'm almost scared to try the tuna tartare (my other go to) after the change in the calamari and sliders. I really so desperately urge management to bring back the former chef, because the current one really seems to expending the least effort possible. And for the record, there was a "specials" slip left on our table, with one of the items noted as "sold out." On a Monday, by 5p. Something is going wrong here. I'm going to try yet again, but the changes that have thus far been made absolutely suck. Ambiance still a 10/10.

This isn't a place I would've tried on my own but came here to meet up with couple of coworkers…read more The food is typical diner style food, but wasn't too bad. I think the breakfast items might be better than the lunch/dinner items. Please note that breakfast items are only served until 11:45 a.m. On my first visit I tried Top Sirloin Steak & Eggs. I ordered it medium rare and was cooked perfectly. Steak was seasoned well and was quite tasty. I had a good first visit with my coworkers so came back again this weekend to try some of lunch items. The lunch items my family and I ordered weren't as good as I expected. Beach House Burger was just ok. It could've used more seasoning on the beef patty because it tasted rather bland. Burger had arugula, tomato, red onions, cheddar cheese, and some house sauce. Fish & Chips was good but tasted pretty standard. Skillet Corn Bread tasted ok but too dry, even with whipped butter and honey. Service has been good both times I was here, and the location is great because it's right by the beach. Patio area always seems to get packed because everyone wants to get a view of the beach, but you can still get a decent view from the inside. I will definitely return but will stick with breakfast items in the future. There is a paid parking lot right by the restaurant, which is currently $3 per hour, but you can find street parking in the nearby residential area. Just make sure you pay attention to parking signs. Most of them have 1 hour limit, which isn't long enough to dine here.

Open until 10 pm. NOPE. NOT TODAY. NO NOTICE BUT THEY CLOSED @ 4pm. Really disappointed. We pulled…read moreinto the parking lot at 405 pm Thursday April 23. It was a beautiful warm Spring day (73 degrees) and we were excited to eat with the great ocean view from The Beach House Seal Beach. Paid for 2 hours of parking and walked over to the restaurant. It was only when we entered the gate where the hostess is that we saw a small sign that said, "Closed." WAIT WHAT???? No indication in the parking lot, no sign at the sidewalk, no sign walking down the walk way. The ONLY notice was buried around a corner saying Closed. We were told they were short staffed and had to close early, sorry. As we walked back to the car, we stopped at least 4 other cars and told them the restaurant was closed. We were able to alert them so they did not pay for parking at a CLOSED restaurant. It felt like the restaurant had NO consideration for the customers. To have NO sign anywhere near where customers would be parking to notify us of a totally unexpected, unanticipated, highly unusual CLOSING at 4 pm for a restaurant that was supposed to be open until 10 pm!!!!! So I called from my car in the parking lot and asked to speak to the manager. When the manager got on he explained that they were short staffed and had to close early. I discussed the lack of notice to customers and how we paid for 2 hours of beach parking. Manager was nice and polite and totally unresponsive to the fact we paid money to visit his restaurant and now had no where to eat and were out the parking fees. I recommended they post a notice where customers could see they were closed BEFORE we paid for our parking. He said they would do it after they finished closing out. I insisted it was only fair that they notified their customers FIRST. So, as we were leaving we saw an employee come out and post a sign. I took a photo because no one would believe how inadequate their posting was if I just described it. The sign is micro small. You can see our car at the bottom of the photo. Would you notice this CLOSED sign? Come on Beach House. We know you can do better for your customers.
