Marlena might be one of the best spots you may have never heard of, it's such a sleeper! I've been spending more time around the Long Beach area recently and this spot as the best ranch I've ever tried (made in house with a few special ingredients). The pizzas here are phenomenal as well, and the service is very fast in front friendly. The ambiance is nice, and they have parking! (Not a huge lot though.) I highly recommend the red sauce pizzas, that's definitely where it's at. It might have one of the best margarita pizzas in LA! Also, our waitress was so funny and charming, bonus points on the service there, haha. Food: 4.5/5 Drinks: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 Value: 4/5 Overall: 4.5/5

Tucked just off of 2nd Street in Naples, Marlena feels like an oasis with awesome food to match. I love the open-air patio seating, perfect for a late summer evening. I came for my first time on my birthday and it felt perfect! Chicories & Apple Salad [ ] a great balance of bitter and sweet, [ ] the goat cheese and dressing acts as a nice neutral buffer [ ] Very fresh Roasted Baby Yams [ ] Favorite dish, though I believe it's seasonal! [ ] Perfect for plant-forward eaters, the smokey seared skin of the yam gives it a hearty meat-like flavor [ ] Pistachio Pesto adds texture and zest I also tried a white fish as an entree (no longer on menu). The preparation was amazing with crispy skin, though the flavor profile wasn't my favorite (I should have went with my server's recommendation).

Such a cool neighborhood bar and restaurant in Naples, I feel like it's a hidden gem being out of sight from the road. It's a perfect date spot with immaculate vibes and a cool modern mediterranean aesthetic feel. I made a reservation here for a date night and a seperate Valentines brunch. First time I came here, we tried their Bolognese spaghetti and one of their caesar salad. The spaghetti was salty and the caesar was tasty, I should've added a protein on this. Overall a pretty good experience but not enough that we tried to get the full experience. For Brunch, Marlena goes absolutely crazy! We got their Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, the blueberry compete was a good touch. The Rosti was amazing, the cilantro lebni sauce was so unique and enjoyed how it sat on a hashbrown. I would get this again forsure. Then to finish it off, I got the breakfast sandwich which was so flavorful, the laminated biscuit was soft and the bacon was like that thickly cut one that melts in your mouth. All of their breakfast items were great and the whole menu sounded delicious. When we asked our waiter what he recommends, he just read off the whole menu haha. We would pass on coming for dinner again though.

Ever since my friend, Lynn told me about this place I've been craving it! I'm always on the hunt for good pizza places in Long Beach (let's get real, California doesn't usually shine in the pizza category) This place is an absolute pizza gem I came here on a Friday with Jay S. I made a reservation which was really easy and I highly recommend it, the place was packed. They also have private parking and street parking The whole atmosphere is great. I love the modern layout and it had great lighting. The place was extremely clean as well. We got seated immediately and everyone was extremely nice especially Elyse (who was our main waitress) and Joaquin who kept coming around bringing us our food and checking on us. 5 stars for them To be honest, I really was hoping they had more pasta options. But, their pizza options made up for it. I started off with ordering a cocktail recommended by Elyse -LIMONANA Egyptian-style creamy limeade and mint. You then get to pick which alcohol you want. I went with vodka, obviously. This was extremely dangerous! I could have had 10 of these. It was so refreshing. I haven't had a good cocktail like this in a while. They also recommend it as a mocktail. It tasted just like a Brazilian lemonade 10/10 And the Las Manzas- Tequila, manzanilla, lemon juice, apple syrup, soda and cinnamon Then it was pizza time! -Mozzarella, bianco tomato, basil, olive oil (this was pretty much a Margherita pizza) the pizza sauce on this was outstanding. It was so incredibly fresh, the seasoning and everything about it was literal perfection. Don't get me started on the crust! Then - Blue oyster mushrooms, porcini crean fontina, olives, marjoram Also, had to get ranch to dip the crust in. The ranch is homemade and you could tell it was homemade with dill but it also had this amazing unique warmth to it. Our waitress, Elyse told us it was a Moroccan blend of spices and it also had cinnamon in it (trust me, it works) perfect 10/10 And for dessert! I'm embarrassed to admit this was my first time trying -Basque cheesecake. Which, was delicious. Since it was my first time trying it, I can't say if it was the best or not. this is a great date night or out with your girlfriends type of spot I really want to try some of their other pizzas. They had so many amazing ones -They also have a happy hour -Brunch -Again, they take reservations and I highly recommend them on the weekend. The only time they could fit us in on a Friday was at 8:45 -they have Gluten free options for the pizzas -service was great! Elyse was amazing and helpful. I have heard service can be hit or miss. -bonus points for private parking lot -bathrooms were clean -really nice layout -this place can also be dressed up or dressed down -I will absolutely be returning

First time trying out their Happy Hour! We have been to many dinners and Brunches at Marlena and always impressed at the food, service, and cocktail program! Their Happy Hour includes some very creative cocktails and appetizers! Service was excellent! Matt was our server and bartender! He suggested great drinks and appetizers! When we finished up dinner was just starting up. We weren't hungry but wished we were to order off the main menu too! Only the Happy Hour Menu is available but if you are their into.the dinner start, the full menu is avaliable. I will say the Happy Hour Menu has plenty on it for options to fill you up and also enjoy a variety of bites! We ordered several appetizers served on Crostini. Marinated Olives and meatballs. We all had lunch just hours before. Next time definitely going hungry as I would love to try out their cheese & charcuterie board! For cocktails we tried the Varquero (interesting and tasting spin on a Margarita!): Don't Telli (smooth spin on an Espresso Martini): and a Bournon Old Fashion. All were so good and very smooth!

The best olive oil chocolate Cake! Perfectly moist. Not overly sweet. The light cream on top is chefs kiss!

This place is so amazing! The food is so fresh and the chef takes rewarding risks with his recipes. The Josper truly is so special and gives all the meat a beautiful char. To top it off, they have quite literally the best chocolate cake that I have ever had. And I have had many chocolate cakes! As long as this cake is on the menu I will make to always get it!

5 stars for decor, ambiance and service but the food was just okay. We went for Happy Hour but we will be back for dinner. The interior is beautiful with lots of outdoor seating, greenery and pet friendly. The Happy Hour menu is very limited.

Fantastic Mother's Day dinner! We ordered a lot, and loved almost everything. The highlights were the olives, the pesto pasta and the stuffed dorade. My kids loved the margarita pizza and the Brussels were very good as well. The little gems was very nice too. We didn't love the mushroom pizza (too much cheese and not enough mushroom) and the cauliflower was a little salty. For dessert we had the strawberry shortcake special (so good!) and soft serve gelato (not my favorite). The service was excellent and the restaurant was beautifully. Really wonderful spot!

I only eat at the bar and the service is xlnt. Everyone is friendly, the lighting is 2600-2700 lumens (not the blinding LED nightmare), the vibe is LA / Newport, and the food has been delicious. Great wine list and selection by the glass. The pasta is first rate, all and made. Rob the owner lured an ex-Funke sous chef and the guy is rockin' it. The pork chop looks next level. Coming back soon...

Incredible food! Friendly staff! Beautiful atmosphere. Truly superb meal, no complaints. Would come here everyday if I could.

3.5 stars for me. I've dined at Marlena a couple of times now and have mixed feelings. Most of the drinks and dishes were outstanding. Service was a bit inconsistent. During my last visit, our server seemed like she didn't want to be there. We asked for a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and she tried to up charge us with a $200 bottle of Chardonnay. We went with a $50 bottle that was more light and crisp, like a Sauv Blanc that we wanted. From that moment, she seemed to give us a judgmental attitude and bad vibes whenever she came back to our table. The Grilled Spanish Octopus was one of the best I've had. The octopus was incredibly tender and the romesco sauce was rich and creamy. The Roasted Baby Yams with pistachio pesto, fennel and maldon was bursting with flavors and textures. Their pizzas are Neapolitan style with soft, thin crusts and fresh toppings. I loved the combination of the Prosciutto, piquillo puree, peperonata, stracchino, hot honey, and arugula. The pistachio-crusted Australian rack of lamb was cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection with spiced labneh and couscous. The Burnt Basque Cheesecake was okay. Their cocktails are creatively crafted, not too sweet and currently priced at $17. My favorites are the Marlena Martini with vodka, dry vermouth, thyme liqueur, orange bitters, salt and the Vaquero with tequila, mezcal, lime, orgeat, absinthe and mint. Both are strong, but balanced. While I really liked the dishes, drinks and the ambience, which is mostly a romantic patio setting with plenty of heat lamps, our miserable server left a bad taste in our mouths.

Went today for the first time trying their coffee and pastries. They have a very cool indoor/outdoor restaurant with a great bar and always very clean with great service. We were the only ones there so of course quick and great service. I liked the cups they served the coffee in and the fresh pastry. This place is in my neighborhood so I will visit frequently.

Genuinely could not recommend this place enough. The staff is ridiculously friendly. Parking was easy to find in the neighborhood and I went with my friend who is a local and we did a cute little walky walk around Naples neighborhood and took a look at all the stunning houses and cute Halloween decorations they had up. The restaurant is all outdoors. We went at night and it's beautiful. The ambiance is romantic and chic. Everyone in the restaurant seemed to be having a blast. The food is amazing. We ordered the little gem lettuce salad which had anchovies and was dressed to perfection. The gem lettuce was so crispy and refreshing. Then we got the prosciutto hot honey pizza which tasted exactly how I wanted it to taste... perfect. The hot honey was addicting. And loved how it was topped with arugula. We also ordered a beef tartare which uses thicker pieces of meat. This one wasn't our favorite. It could use a bit of salt and the veggies I don't think paired the best with the meat but I loved the Parmesan chip on the side and it tasted really healthy at least. I really wanted an affogato but they only had caramel or chocolate ice cream but I'm a vanilla girly so that was sad. Def loved this restaurant and highly recommend for a cute little date night or girl dinner. They are extremely dog friendly here which is so so nice to have.

You're telling me dozens of people are stuck waiting forever while there's plenty of room inside? It's giving manufactured crowd and poor management. To make it worse, they stopped serving drinks and turned the lights on at 1:15 AM, way earlier than literally any normal bar. So after wasting hours in line, you barely even get time inside. And it somehow gets worse -- at 1:35 AM they were literally kicking people out of the restroom. We weren't even allowed to finish or wash our hands before being rushed out. That's not just rude, it's straight up unhygienic and disrespectful. Overall, completely overhyped, disorganized, and not worth the wait at all. Don't fall for the line -- it's fake.

And this one time I was there alone with another, no other patrons just staff members walking around from time to time. We stole the moment to dance under the Long Beach sky, just the two of us as a famous Christina Perrio song gently wafted in the night breeze. At another separate time, I was at the Los Angeles County Fair with another. We rode the ferris wheel at such a time where our gondola stopped at the top just as the sun set. The moment was nothing but beautiful and life affirming because the sinking of the sun's light was like a real life video of nature happening in front of us, unburdened by static or data stall. We witnessed nature resting, and I feel, that it was a kin to a beauty falling into a gentle sleep. These two instances have a common factor: momentary bliss arrived to bless an experience because the environment supported discovery of unplanned joy. That is what I associate with the Wicked Wolf, and this time the joy arrived eventually because when my Mom and I arrived to their high tea on Mother's Day the experienced seem like it would land nowhere good. Truth be told, my mom and I arrived 15 minutes early and there was no host in the stand and the place was empty except for a foursome. The energy felt lacked luster. One or two minutes after, the bartender informed us that we were early and the host would come soon. We sat in an available sofa for two, a loveseat persay. This gave us an opportunity to admire the decor that transported us to a storybook forest where good fairies reside, not like swamp creatures and trolls with malevolent fangs and dragon green eyes. I especially loved the large roses in the ceiling. To set the stage, the black ceiling had vines hanging from it, and the few roses were pops of crimson red displayed above. These were wonderful accents to the central mural of the joint that invited the viewer within deeper into the fairy forest where a light shone on an unseen meadow. The place had the decorations and general environment to be a lavender fairy's lounge, but, it did not fully work as a team room. For instance, my mom and I were sat in another lover's couch. Initially, I did not want to sit here because we were given circular tray sets. So imagine being told to sit in a couch, and each of us would get a tv tray. So I was left to wonder if we were going to be served tea in Belle's living room or if were going to watch a flick as we ate pollo loco bowl? But then as I settled into the tranquility of the moment, saw more people come and find their seat or couch, and as the serviced picked-up I realized that this was high tea in a place that had taken disjointed beauty and tackied it together for a patched tea experience that worked well. It was like the experienced was blessed and allowed by the same spirit that brought forth Raggedy Ann. For instance, the pictures show these pretty violet petaled tea cups and matching plates. This pairing was dainty and perfect for a tea party happening under pink veils. But then the sugar cubes came in a hedgehog shaped holder which was just as precious as seeing a piglet in a carriage built for one. Then the cream carrier was in the shape of a milk carton. I wondered where the missing child portrait was? The pastry plate was in the shape of a tropical flower like the ones scattered all over Hawaii. It belonged in a beautiful lei. Each of these elements was cute in its own delicate and whimsical way but together they made an eclectic hodgepodge, not a coherent tea set. And in this asymmetry laid the glitter of their error. The host also brought these clip on dainty hats that were perfect touches for make believe tea party. He carried them around in their original packing, including the box they came in. Not exactly the tailor of the queen, offering hats to the villagers as a gift from her to them, but still the effort magnified the moment. The tea food was the worst stumble that Red took as she was being chased by the Wicked Wolf. To begin with the end analysis, the tea offerings in general were standard, and not bites fit for a princess and her wedding court. For instance, the cream cheese and cucumber sandwich was just that---- a cucumber and cream cheese sandwich. I detected no effort to make it more than that. The blueberry scone was solid, nothing to skip through a meadow about. But once you added the jam of the table to the scone it was much easier to enjoy. I also had a madeline that was fluffy in the center but could have been purchased maybe at Costco. I had a Macaron and same thing, delicious but I have had something similar before and I suspected that it did not come from a place afloat with Parisian affairs. The best part of the tiers was this puff like thing that had like a Concha texture and design at the top. It was a sweet filled bite that was fit for a man made of muffin.

But sadly my mom could not hear us, due to the music being so loud, we did ask twice if they would turn it down a little to no avail. That is too much money to spend, to not be able to hear each other. We had to hurry out because she was getting frustrated.

It's been my go-to for 15+ years when I want good food, good vibes, and great ambiance with no trouble. to cut to the chase, we learned the restaurant is now under new [kitchen] management, and to be honest, i wonder if it's private equity in charge now, because literally no one with restaurant experience would've let what happened today happen. For mother's day, with my son and daughter in law having no strong feelings about how we celebrated, I made reservations here a month ago, with my mouth watering for their kobe sliders. We were seated at 1:15p. It was clear from the jump the disorganization for mothers day madness, but we were in good spirits and happy to endure longer than usual wait times. that's what happens when you go out for mother's day. and, my DIL is a server, so she knows what's up. I think our first clue that things were gonna go sideways is when it took till 15 minutes after we were seated to even get menus, waters sometime after that, and 15 minutes after THAT to finally have our order taken. we immediately ordered two drinks and two apps, about 30 minutes after being seated. Just to be clear on two points: we do not at all blame our server for what happened after this; he was clearly overwhelmed with a shitty management team and a too-large section; and, again, we walked in with the expectation that due to a holiday brunch, things would get crazy. So in light of that, I think it's important to just share the timeline: 1:15p seated 1:45p server comes by to take apps and beverage orders 1:55p waters finally delivered 2:10p beverages arrive (55 min after being seated) for ages, we watched others being seated around us (though we noted several tables around us remaining empty as the lobby stacked up with people with reservations waiting to be seated.) it was sometime between 1:35p and 1:50p that my daughter in law started saying that she felt like she should go put on an apron and help them out. she was sitting there telling me and my son how this should be going, and was going nuts watching things go absolutely sideways, telling us everything she could see going wrong and how she'd fix it. of note, at this point, my son and i were just thinking "this is how it goes," but once she explained how all this was going wrong, we were like yeah, wtf. skipping ahead: around 2:20p (more than an hour after we were seated - and note still without our apps!), our server came by for the first time in a minute to take our entree orders and subsequent drink orders. we put them in, and reminded him of our apps orders. he seemed stunned and said, 'oh, i haven't even checked on those, i'm sorry.' he explained what was going on behind the scenes, apologized, told us that two of our three were no longer being served, asked us for replacement orders. i told him, I guess i'll just stick to the calamari as a main, and my son literally told him, "bring me anything." in the meantime, the drinks weren't coming, so after 15 min, my son went to the bar directly and paid for a couple of beers and brought them back to the table within four minutes - so clearly the delay wasn't due to the bar. around 2:50p, my order of calamari finally came out. though the brussels we had also ordered at 1:45p were nowhere to be seen. the calamari was of course ice cold. at that point, i'd had enough. we had all been so patient - brunch/lunch service on mothers day sucks, but we'd been there for OVER 90 MINUTES. WITHOUT FOOD. i grabbed the plate of calamari, went up to the front, was like 'who can i talk to about this,' and they brought out the manager. BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY that i am not a karen. even in this, i was polite. "look, i know you guys are in the weeds, but i've waited over an hour for one of the five things we ordered, have been now told two of the things we ordered are not being served, and this came out cold, with five orders still outstanding. please tell me how this will be addressed." at this point, we were still happy to give them the opportunity to correct. the manager looked at me with derision and said, 'i'll talk to someone' and waved me away. i dutifully went back to the table to wait. i mean, we were just hungry; none of us had eaten all day. at this point, we were still assuming all would be rectified, though honestly at that point, we were planning to demand comped lunch and just tip our beleaguered server. as we waited, my DIL called another restaurant who confirmed they had no wait, and we gave the staff 15 extra minutes to rectify, and after no one came by our table at all, much less with food, we all walked out, and everyone watched us do so and they didn't say shit. at least restaurant #2 took care of us, but damn.

The view of the sand, rocks, beach, and sunset made the ambience really special and created the perfect beachside atmosphere. I ordered the Wild Atlantic salmon and an espresso martini and both were excellent. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the espresso martini was one of the best I've had. Brian was our bartender and the service really stood out. Drinks were deliciously made, the energy at the bar was fun and welcoming. He made sure everything was very well taken care of throughout the night. Between the food, service, beautiful views, and the fact that it's pet friendly, it made for such a nice experience. Definitely recommend sitting at the Sand Bar and asking for Brian for those amazing drinks and great recommendations!!

It was a beautiful warm Spring day (73 degrees) and we were excited to eat with the great ocean view from The Beach House Seal Beach. Paid for 2 hours of parking and walked over to the restaurant. It was only when we entered the gate where the hostess is that we saw a small sign that said, "Closed." WAIT WHAT???? No indication in the parking lot, no sign at the sidewalk, no sign walking down the walk way. The ONLY notice was buried around a corner saying Closed. We were told they were short staffed and had to close early, sorry. As we walked back to the car, we stopped at least 4 other cars and told them the restaurant was closed. We were able to alert them so they did not pay for parking at a CLOSED restaurant. It felt like the restaurant had NO consideration for the customers. To have NO sign anywhere near where customers would be parking to notify us of a totally unexpected, unanticipated, highly unusual CLOSING at 4 pm for a restaurant that was supposed to be open until 10 pm!!!!! So I called from my car in the parking lot and asked to speak to the manager. When the manager got on he explained that they were short staffed and had to close early. I discussed the lack of notice to customers and how we paid for 2 hours of beach parking. Manager was nice and polite and totally unresponsive to the fact we paid money to visit his restaurant and now had no where to eat and were out the parking fees. I recommended they post a notice where customers could see they were closed BEFORE we paid for our parking. He said they would do it after they finished closing out. I insisted it was only fair that they notified their customers FIRST. So, as we were leaving we saw an employee come out and post a sign. I took a photo because no one would believe how inadequate their posting was if I just described it. The sign is micro small. You can see our car at the bottom of the photo. Would you notice this CLOSED sign? Come on Beach House. We know you can do better for your customers.
