OMG!!!! I don't really leave reviews on yelp, (I just use it to find food options) but I have to say something about this place. There was a deal on door dash so I thought I should take advantage of it and I decided to order from this place. Had never heard of it before but I was in the mood for soul food. I looked at the menu and didn't really know what to try, so I just went with old reliable; Fried chicken plate with Mac and Yams. I tried to order another side but each side was $10. So I was like "I'm not paying $10 for one side!" But MAN I should have! My food was INCREDIBLE. I took one bite of the Mac and cheese and it was so good, I set my timer for 4:30am just so I can wake up early and workout. Anything that good, has to immediately be shortening your lifespan. My goodness it was great. The yams were super flavorful and the chicken was juicy and crunchy. And they left me a lil piece of cornbread and even that was delicious. Just all around great experience. Went to the Jazz Festival in the city of Carson and stopped by the vendors. I tried the Smothered Chicken with yams and greens. Very flavorful and the kool-aid was just right. I know that the workers are extremely busy working an event like this. Our server was telling us that they were waiting for the chicken to be done. It was worth the wait. read more

I must say for a pop-up location, We had the smoother turkey chops they came with rice and gravy and two sides. We had mac & cheese and cabbage. The rice and gravy needs more seasoning. Everything was on point. I'd definitely buy this soul food again. The reason for 4 stars is because I wanted peach cobbler and peach tea but she did not bring any as advertised. Got to see the booth today at the Bellflower farmers market today and was very excited to try the Mac and cheese! Ended up spending +$11 for 8 oz of Mac and cheese only. There was no taste and the texture was very congealed. Couldn't tell apart what was cheese and what was pasta. Maybe the other sides are better but I recommend passing on the Mac and cheese. Had some of the BEST food I've ever had at their tent at Farfield Brewing today! We had the smothered chicken plate with collard greens, mac and cheese, and green beans. Everything was absolutely delicious. The collard greens were perfect and some of the best I've ever had, chicken was perfect, and same with the mac and cheese.
