Two of the 2 meat & 2 sides combo plates, lemon pound cake, banana pudding. We added 1 extra order of cornbread.

My daughter and I stopped here to pick up dinner after shopping on 4th St. We were so glad to find this place! We were having a hard time deciding what to get so the young woman at the counter gave us a sample of meat. The burnt ends are amazing! We ordered 2 combo plates and two desserts. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is a walk up counter with ample picnic-style seating under a big canopy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a water station next to the counter. We were able to sit and wait for our order which came out promptly. The combo plates were more than enough for 3 people. The meat was so tender and full of flavor. The mac n cheese was creamy. The greens have the slightest kick. Loved the baked beans and corn bread. Everything was delicious. We'll definitely be back again!

Previously, I said the mac & cheese was dry. The owner told me that it had to have been an anomaly cause it's not supposed to be that way. I trusted the process and came back months later and he told zero lies. Not dry at all and so so so so so so good. I got the two meat combo. Pulled pork and tri-tip. Out of this world. That cornbread is something to dream about. The greens are absolutely fantastic. It's kind of insane.

Yummmm had been wanting to try this place for so long. We got the 2 meat 2 sides with spare ribs, brisket, Mac and cheese, and chili. Spare ribs were the best with the gold bbq sauce. Brisket was good, sides were decent but would love to try their other sides! Will definitely be back.

Let me get straight to the point. Excellent BBQ. We tried the brisket sandwich. Brioche bun was light and fluffy. The brisket was incredible. It almost tasted candied a bit. Definite brown sugar caramelization happening. Tender and not too sweet. Side of cole slaw was great. Not drowning in mayo. Light and fresh. The Mac&Cheese was cheesy delicious. Gouda cheese to be exact. My favorite was the brisket chili. Tiny bit of heat but not too much. Great flavor. The banana pudding was....To. Die. For. Wow! Lots of real banana and homemade whip cream. The freshly squeezed lemonade is a Must. Will definitely be back.

Great BBQ, but the hidden gem for me was the jalapeños cheddar sausage. Cheesy, meaty with a little spice kick - awesome. Add a brisket sandwich on to that and that was a filling lunch! Next time I'll ask for a sausage sandwich!

Two meat two side combo: ribs, brisket, potato salad, baked beans, and two corn bread (paid extra for one corn bread)

An absolute keeper! My Brothers Keeper BBQ will definitely be my forever bbq spot! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Can't miss this spot because there is a huge BBQ smoker in front of the restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Visited on a Sunday afternoon and even though the line was long, the wait is totally worth it! Ordered the combo with 2 meats: ribs and brisket with 2 sides: baked beans with bacon and potato salad, extra corn bread because you can't just have one, and lemonade. The ribs were seasoned perfectly and fell off the bone! The brisket was juicy and flavorful! The potato salad and baked beans hit the spot! Lastly, the corn bread was moist and delicious! The lemonade was fresh and not too sweet, just the way I like it! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the picnic benches that provided an opportunity for strangers, neighbors, and friends to meet and talk and enjoy the best bbq, weather, and music; all of it brought back memories from good times![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Street and neighborhood parking was no problem. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat next to a couple who had a dog (Ruby) and staff from the Brothers Keeper BBQ gave her a real doggy bone treat! By the looks of it, she enjoyed it![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Still consistently amazing bbq. Out to go to and we are lucky to be living across from them. Consistently juicy and perfect smoked. Mac and cheese is crack. Greens got a little kicked to it but flavorful. Surely we will be back for more.

After bookmarking the pop-up during the quarantine, we finally made it, only this time he has his own spot! Facility: A: [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is the old MVP location but much better. Clean and simple. Bathroom to wash hands is conveniently located.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] - clean covered picnic tables Food: A: Beef Rib - We don't eat pork so we were so glad he had beef. It was flavorful and tender. It was pricey though. The Mac and cheese was so good. Something about the seasoning!!! A+: Service. Everyone was nice and we even got a free sample to try while we waited. We can't wait to go back again, and this will be our go-to bbq spot in Long Beach.

Found this place on IG. This was top tier BBQ. The smokiness of the burnt ends and chicken wings remind me of home (Arkansas). You don't really need the sauce but the sauce definitely amplified the flavor. Nothing was dry. Sides were amazing especially the mac n cheese. The greens were really good but I can't handle too much spiciness . Definitely food coma worthy. I found a new spot when I visit for work. Mo was super nice, just a cool guy. Oh and the wait time wasn't long but I did go during the week day before 5pm.

    Not it...

There is no good BBQ spots in Long Beach when bros bbq appear n city n saw ppl post n say it was good we had to try.. I guess that day was a bad day because our meal was not it.. Greens was super spicy (SUPER)!! rib portion was small like you can let a infant have (that small)!!! My chicken was burnt outside but red inside idk if (smoked) leaves blood but yeah.. I ask my ppl from city and they say 4on the like scale vs me I give it a -1& I'm a wing man that hurted to receive that way My brisket tuff -1my honey cornbread if that what you call it Burnttt y u serve it to me that way n your videos show different idk...n was told we will get a refund nope not yet!!!!

Living one block from here, I was excited to support a local business! The spot is cool, it's the original MVP location in front of the house on 4th street. Street parking only, picnic table seating. FOOD** It wasn't bad food, but not too great by any means either. The Brisket was dense and dry inside. Also a bit too salty. 2.5/5 stars The Mac&Cheese and Potato Salad were 3.5/5 stars Also pretty good but nothing amazing here Sitting here disappointed after paying $39.79 for a one person meal With these premium prices I expected much more Next time I want BBQ I'll be heading to LALC in Seal Beach like usual

Absolutely amazing BBQ! I previously stopped by after work and everything was sold out. So I came back the next day an hour earlier and got lucky to order what I wanted: ribs, spicy collard greens, baked beans, and corn bread. Everything was absolutely amazing. The ribs were incredibly flavorful. They were tender, smoky, and the top almost tasted like candied meat in a way. Half a pound came out to be two ribs, and since I was so hungry I didn't know if that would be enough, but the ribs had more meat on them than past ribs I've tried. They were absolutely delicious! The spicy greens were fresh and flavorful, and I loved that it had meat in it. The baked beans were delicious with the bacon, though a bit more on the sweeter side which is good depending on how you like your baked beans. And pro tip: definitely don't pass up the corn bread! I need to come back and try all the other menu items.

Got a side of Grammy"s Potato Salad and 1 lb of Pork Spareribs. Wow, everything was delicious. The potato salad was creamy and smooth. I think I tasted a little bit of mustard in the potato salad? The rib seasoning was flavorful and well balanced. The meat was tender with good smokiness. The sauce had the right amount of tanginess. Service was very friendly. There was a limited amount of street parking. I opted to park around the corner in the residential area.

Located on Fourth Street, all parking is street parking, and for a Saturday afternoon, it sure was busy! I had to circle the surrounding neighborhoods a few times before finally lucking out and snagging the loading spot right by the bakery. There also was a line to get in. At first, I was confused because there were two lines, but turns out the longer line one was for the neighboring coffee shop, Reinne's Place. Since it was already 1:30pm, a lot of their pastries and breads were already sold out. I was hoping to get their ube pandesal but alas, no more! I ended up getting their Pandan Cinny Bun, Black Sesame Bun, and Ube Bun as well as their Ube Coffee Cake. The buns are gigantic! Not only were they huge, but they're also incredibly soft and delicious. I really loved how distinct the flavors were in each one . It's hard for me to pick which is my favorite out of the three because they were all so good! If I absolutely had to pick though, I really loved the Black Sesame one. The black sense and flavor on that one really came through and I loved pairing it with my coffee. The Ube Coffee Cake was also really enjoyable. It had a nice crumbly texture with a subtle sweetness. Overall, I really enjoyed all the sweet treats I tried here! I'd definitely go back to try more, although I will say the limited street parking can make the visit a little challenging, especially on a busy Saturday.
