This burger place is located in the Marina Pacifica plaza towards the movie theater, so there is loads of free parking. Bright orange is the color theme, both inside and out, so it's hard to miss. They have a covered patio outside and several booths and tables inside. The menu is simple and straightforward with five burger choices and a couple of non-burger choices (chicken sandwich and grilled cheese). You can also substitute a black bean patty if you want to bring your vegan friend along. I decided on the Juicy James burger (double patty with cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon, and sauce). I also decided on tots and a chocolate milkshake. The helpful, personable woman at the counter handed me a cup for water, anticipating the next words out of my mouth. I went to the soda machine to get water then took a seat at a booth; my order was soon brought to my table. The ingredients for the burger were all fresh. It was messy but delicious, with the bun barely up to the task of keeping everything together. The tots were "tossed in duck fat" and tasted excellent, and the serving was plentiful. The milkshake was pretty good but, on my extensive milkshake rating scale, would be average. This is a comfort burger place, nothing gourmet, just a simple, flavorful burger joint, and in that regard they succeed.
Tried Proudly Serving after seeing all the rave reviews in the LB Food Scene Facebook Group during this rainy LDW, and it ended up being the perfect comfort food for a day like that. The burger had an amazing crust that you could really taste, and it was absolutely delicious. Definitely on the heavier side, though, so I'm not sure how often I'd frequent it. No notes!
A cozy little spot with plenty of outdoor seating (and heaters). I appreciate the bag hooks everywhere! Honestly, I feel like the individual items vary so much here, it's hard for me to give a straightforward star review! Milkshakes and soft serve: easy 5 stars. Amazing! Burgers and fries/tots: about 4 stars! I prefer the tots to the fries, but either one is good. The regular burger is good, although a little too salty. The chili burger is really good! I don't think the prices are outrageous -- I get the comparisons to In-N-Out but at the end of the day most small businesses aren't going to be able to price-match a nationwide chain, nor am I expecting them to. The ranch price is a little outrageous though, lol. Tuna melt: ugh, 2 stars. Mine was lukewarm (the cheese was barely melted???) and I thought the ratio of everything was off. The tuna itself was good, but I could barely taste it over the very thick (not rye!) bread and two layers of American cheese. Overall, a 4-star spot since the staff here are very nice as well! I thought the tuna melt was so mid that I almost dropped it down to 3 stars, but since it's special item for Long Beach Food Week and not a permanent item, I am going to disregard it from the overall score for now!
Tuna melt special for Long Beach Food Scene week. Crunchy toast, super flavorful tuna, and melted cheese that holds it all together. Could eat this every week. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Patio is dog friendly!
Came here with my little brother & pup after a day at Rosie's dog beach and was not disappointed! The restaurant is very open with plenty of seating both inside and outside. They have 2 video game machines and a Photo Booth as well! The inside was very clean and spacious. The outdoor seating was also very clean and spacious with an awning to provide shade. I loved that they had hooks at the bar stool area to place your purses/bags as well! More places need to have these! The service was great, the man that helped us at the counter was super friendly! The burgers themselves were really tasty! My little brother is very picky & he DEVOURED his whole burger! I got the chili cheese burger & was surprised to taste that the chili had a little bit of spice to it! Not burn your mouth or hurt you spicy, just a tiny little kick to add to its flavor. Both the fries and tots were super crispy and flavorful as well. The biggest plus for me is they are dog friendly! We had a great meal here, will definitely be back next time we're in the area!
Proudly Serving (burgers) interestingly replaced two other burger establishments (Beasties and Eat Fantastic). I haven't tried Beasties or Eat Fantastic yet, but I really liked the Juicy James burger ($14), which comes with two smash patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon, special sauce on a sesame bun. I asked for pickled jalapeños for an extra .50 cents and swapped out one of the beef patties with the black bean patty. This burger was legit! Loved the toasted sesame bun, crispy bacon, hearty beef and bean patties. The vegetables were fresh and the special sauce made the burger extra juicy. I also got the fries, which is tossed in duck fat for $5. Not super crispy, but they are thick cut, which I liked. They have craft beer, wine and soft drinks. My friends and I shared a bottle of sparkling rosé. Ashley took our order and everything came out quickly! Plenty of tables inside and outside. They even have Pac Man, Mortal Kombat and a photo booth for a little entertainment! Plenty of parking in the lot. Hope they last longer than the other businesses did!
They're not your average smash burger joint. They consistently achieve a crust in their burgers that is divine. I thought it an anomaly because it was so nice the first time but I am so wrong. Three visits and three solid experiences. They have mastered the Maillard reaction on their products. Fries and tots are cooked in duck fat. If you've never had it, you're missing out. No gamey taste, just an umami explosion. Their ranch is definitely made in house. Thick, boldly flavored, and will make you reevaluate your ranch experiences. And they're super friendly, like Disneyland friendly y'all. Plus, it's easy to order to go and take it to the movies with you!
Burgers are made fresh and the wait wasn't too long. Ingredients blend well and the burger is soft, kinda melts in your mouth. Location is in the plaza next to the AMC. Menu is straightforward and there is plenty of parking available.
The tuna melt was good but not what I expected. Filled with chunky, savory tuna, zesty seasoning and quality cheese. However, sandwich was lacking in presentation and the bread was soggy and not fully toasted like I saw from other tuna melt photos from the same restaurant. It also wasn't cut in half which made it hefty on top of the not so toasted bread. Regardless, the ingredients were tasty, fresh and plentiful. I think with a more well toasted bread and melted cheese this could rival diners like Jim's Burger for tuna melt. Old school arcade Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam are in the lobby. Very cool. The vanilla milkshake was incredible and was a meal unto itself. Service was great. $45 after tip for fries, tuna melt, shake and the founder to go...might go back eventually but not anytime soon. Tuna melt that I got was a 7 out of 10.
Easy eats burgers and amazing fries. Went for a quick work lunch. Plenty of parking in the plaza. There's a few different burgers (including a Filipino burger) but opted for the PS burger and some fries. Food came out pretty quickly. Burger was spot on - cooked well and not super greasy considering it's a fast food place. Best part was the fries though - I'm guessing it's the duck fat but I ran through those so quick. Would come back - especially for the fries.
Finally made it to the new Proudly Serving location in the LBC, and it definitely lives up to the hype. This spot has that perfect local energy we love in Belmont Shore. The orange-clad interior is bright, clean, and high-energy--perfect for a quality, casual bite. It's got a modern, inviting atmosphere that makes you want to hang out. PS Burger: A very solid, well-executed burger. It's a great example of a classic burger done right. Chili Cheese Fries: These were the absolute star of the show. The chili has a phenomenal kick of spice that I wasn't expecting but absolutely loved. It's not just "good"--it's a standout dish.
Went here prior to watching a movie. First of all, the cashier and the servers were really nice people! Friendly, professional and outgoing. Lets get to the nitty gritty with honest feedback. Only from my observation and experience. Ordered a PS burger and Chicken Sandwhich Burger. The PS burger was $11. It was made sloppy, the bun itself was not even aligned correctly. It was alittle on the salty side for me. Paid an extra 50cents for Jalapeños.. only 3 or 4 was added. The chicken Sandwhich was better then my PS burger which was alittle bit more in price compared to my PS burger. I believe the burgers are overpriced. They are actually pretty small. On the positive note, the wine serving was good. So dont be expecting a large burger. If you have money to spend to purchase a burger and still feeling hungry afterwards, this place might do it for you. The ambiance is that of an old-school burger joint but in Orange. Inside seating is tight but cozy. Has old school video games and a photo booth for some entertainment. I am having mixed feelings. In my honest opinion, the taste was just ok for me. I will try again though. Not knocking entirely, has good energy and the potential to be successful. They also play good music. Kudos to the cashier and the staff working the front desk. They were really cool peeps.
Very delicious burgers! Burgers tasted great and were pretty big. They have big fries and were cooked perfectly. Service was fast and everyone was very nice. The place looks nice and they even have a Photo Booth a Pac-Man! The only down side was that there were a few fruit flies near the soda machine. Overall, 8/10.
Proudly serving is located right next to the AMC on PCH. I stopped by right before a movie screening. You order at the counter, get a buzzer, and can choose between indoor and outdoor seating. The ambiance is nice and clean and they even have two arcade machines in the corner. I ordered the PS burger for my first time ($12.18 total). Everything is à la carte, so I only got the burger. The burger was good, but lots of onions and not enough sauce in my opinion. The service was friendly and quick. Before my buzzer went off the cashier was bringing me my tray over. 8.8/10 read more
I don't really get the hype around this place. It's pretty expensive for some pretty lackluster burgers and fries. I got the PS fries, which is their version of In-N-Out's Roadkill fries (animal fries + patty). It was... fine. I didn't love the thick cut fries, as they were neither crispy or fluffy, but rather just dense. I took a bite of my friends' Founder and Juicy James, and I was just as underwhelmed as they were. If you're craving a burger, I would recommend going to somewhere like The Win-Dow, where burgers are damn good and come at a reasonable price. read more

Heard about this place on instagram...... but we were heading to the movies. After the movies we stopped here for dinner. It's a smash burger concept known for its high-quality, ingredients. My favorite food are burgers and in my opinion it lack flavor. Glad we came in, service was good, ambience was a bit small. (Tight seating) but the place is small. A very good smash burger. The man and I had the PJ, which was a double patty with cheese and grilled onions, pickles and special sauce. I did feel like there was too much sauce, and I enjoy a generous amount of sauce with my burgers. But I felt like this sauce over powered the taste of the patty and cheese. Still a decent burger. The potato buns held everything together. My kiddos shared the Founder which has lettuce, ketchup, mustard and pickles. A classic - they enjoyed. And done miss out on the fries! I wished it came with more! It was the perfect kind of thick and crispy to a fry. Great quick meal before catching a movie or after. read more

The fries are perfectly crispy, golden, and addictive in the best way. The burger is a straight 10/10, especially with pickles added... that extra crunch and flavor takes it over the top. Been a fan of this previous popup at Hi-Lo and Brachwood. Or was it because I'm just too lazy to drive to Redondo or Hermosa? Either way, I'm happy it's here now. It's next to Howard's/Ralph's in the marina so plenty of parking. Once inside you will find splatter orange for the walls. Kind of retro vibes yet fresh at the same time. Just like their smash burgers. They are so simple yet so delicious. Their duck fat fries are also a must. I usually just get their PS burger, because I like to taste simplicity. But that pastrami burger does look tempting for next time! They don't have the fish sandwich like Redondo. This availability was for lent but if they do decide to have it then it will be after April. Currently they have beers by Burning Daylight out of lomita. Matt, the owner is a total beer geek so I dig that he has local craft on tap. I believe they have fountain drinks and 2 video games here as well. I was one of 25 who got the $25 gift card for opening day today. I'll definitely be back! read more

Absolutely awesome first time experience dining at and Proudly Serving. I loved the Limited Buntan Burger! Filipino lonnganisa sausage (savory sweet), atchara (pickled papaya slaw), and banana ketchup on smash burger patties in a traditional filipino pan de sal (bread with salt roll). True to Filipino flavors- absolutely delicious! If you're into a savory sweet vibe, highly recommend you grab one before they stop selling it. Excellent customer service. Clean and cool interior. Love the shaded outdoor seating. Highly recommend! Also the tater tots are a MUST! read more

Smash Burgers delicious. But I'm a big fan of The Proud Bird. Their crispy chicken sandwich with special sauce, is sooooo good. I got extra pickles and a little extra special sauce on the side. Came in here with my girl before going to see a movie to check out the hype and I was pleasantly surprised. We both got the founder burger along with some soft serve swirls. The burgers were great no complaints here. The founder is like a elevated McDonald's cheeseburger and I say that in the best way possible better ingredients, better taste, and it doesn't leave you feeling guilty after for eating crappy McDonalds But the surprise star of the show for us was the soft serve. It was REALLY good. We'll definitely be back next time to try out some more items and get our soft serve fix read more

We ordered the Juicy James w/no tomato-- it was good, just a lil on the salty side so just ask for less salt, maybe. Stopped in after the movies and was pretty crowded which was a good sign. Food came out quickly. Burgers were good, and not too big, but filling. The onions were grilled, delicious. Tater tots were crunchy but struggled that they are cooked in duck fat. Had a lager beer which was refreshing. Will go back and maybe try the chicken sandwich! Really good new burger spot, I was a fan of the chili cheeseburger. Chili has a little spicy kick. Fries are really good here too. Tried the ps burger and that was alright the chili wowed me though. They have an arcade that takes quarters, I asked for quarters and the register had 3 so I couldn't play (they should over stock quarters since the arcade could be profitable) they also aren't serving beer / alcohol currently I guess new owner so they lost the license. The sauce is 1 dollar a sauce which lowkey feels overpriced, I wanted to try them all since it was my first time and spent $3 between 3 sauces for the experience. The special sauce was my fave the ranch and aioli were just okay and I wouldn't spend the extra cash on again. Good spot but a few areas they drop the ball on (at least give 1 sauce for free if getting fries) but the chili and fries ill return for, PLEASE STOCK QUARTERS FOR YOUR ARCADE read more

Stopped in on the 2nd day to see what the buzz is and my opinion is , its a regular smash burger spot. The music is way too loud and the chili on the fries is too salty. The cheese on the chili cheese fries should be melted more. The regular fries are very tasty though. Paying $1 for special sauce is not worth it. Its basically dolled up mayo. Their Big Matt is their version of the Bic Mac. Each bite brings out nostalgia and is exactly how a real Big Mac should taste. The Big Matt has the perfect soft textural sesame seed bun, sandwiched between 2 meaty patties, layered with shredded lettuce, cheese & pickles and finally topped with their secret sauce. Exactly how you would hope and want it to taste. Does not disappoint, from size to quality to flavor. Also, you could clearly taste the duck fat on their tater tots, that lightly drips out after a bite. The Big Matt is only available for burger week, and I'm hoping it stays on the menu for good.
