Honestly, I feel like the individual items vary so much here, it's hard for me to give a straightforward star review! Milkshakes and soft serve: easy 5 stars. Amazing! Burgers and fries/tots: about 4 stars! I prefer the tots to the fries, but either one is good. The regular burger is good, although a little too salty. The chili burger is really good! I don't think the prices are outrageous -- I get the comparisons to In-N-Out but at the end of the day most small businesses aren't going to be able to price-match a nationwide chain, nor am I expecting them to. The ranch price is a little outrageous though, lol. Tuna melt: ugh, 2 stars. Mine was lukewarm (the cheese was barely melted???) and I thought the ratio of everything was off. The tuna itself was good, but I could barely taste it over the very thick (not rye!) bread and two layers of American cheese. Overall, a 4-star spot since the staff here are very nice as well! The tuna melt was good but not what I expected. Filled with chunky, savory tuna, zesty seasoning and quality cheese. However, sandwich was lacking in presentation and the bread was soggy and not fully toasted like I saw from other tuna melt photos from the same restaurant. It also wasn't cut in half which made it hefty on top of the not so toasted bread. Regardless, the ingredients were tasty, fresh and plentiful. I think with a more well toasted bread and melted cheese this could rival diners like Jim's Burger for tuna melt. Old school arcade Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam are in the lobby. Very cool. Came here with my little brother & pup after a day at Rosie's dog beach and was not disappointed! The restaurant is very open with plenty of seating both inside and outside. They have 2 video game machines and a Photo Booth as well! The inside was very clean and spacious. The outdoor seating was also very clean and spacious with an awning to provide shade. I loved that they had hooks at the bar stool area to place your purses/bags as well! More places need to have these! The service was great, the man that helped us at the counter was super friendly! The burgers themselves were really tasty! My little brother is very picky & he DEVOURED his whole burger! I got the chili cheese burger & was surprised to taste that the chili had a little bit of spice to it! Not burn your mouth or hurt you spicy, just a tiny little kick to add to its flavor. Both the fries and tots were super crispy and flavorful as well. The biggest plus for me is they are dog friendly! I haven't tried Beasties or Eat Fantastic yet, but I really liked the Juicy James burger ($14), which comes with two smash patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon, special sauce on a sesame bun. I asked for pickled jalapeños for an extra .50 cents and swapped out one of the beef patties with the black bean patty. This burger was legit! Loved the toasted sesame bun, crispy bacon, hearty beef and bean patties. The vegetables were fresh and the special sauce made the burger extra juicy. I also got the fries, which is tossed in duck fat for $5. Not super crispy, but they are thick cut, which I liked. They have craft beer, wine and soft drinks. My friends and I shared a bottle of sparkling rosé. Ashley took our order and everything came out quickly! Plenty of tables inside and outside. They're not your average smash burger joint. They consistently achieve a crust in their burgers that is divine. I thought it an anomaly because it was so nice the first time but I am so wrong. Three visits and three solid experiences. They have mastered the Maillard reaction on their products. Fries and tots are cooked in duck fat. If you've never had it, you're missing out. No gamey taste, just an umami explosion. Their ranch is definitely made in house. Thick, boldly flavored, and will make you reevaluate your ranch experiences. It was alittle on the salty side for me. Paid an extra 50cents for Jalapeños.. only 3 or 4 was added. The chicken Sandwhich was better then my PS burger which was alittle bit more in price compared to my PS burger. I believe the burgers are overpriced. They are actually pretty small. On the positive note, the wine serving was good. So dont be expecting a large burger. If you have money to spend to purchase a burger and still feeling hungry afterwards, this place might do it for you. The ambiance is that of an old-school burger joint but in Orange. Inside seating is tight but cozy. Has old school video games and a photo booth for some entertainment. I am having mixed feelings. In my honest opinion, the taste was just ok for me. Been a fan of this previous popup at Hi-Lo and Brachwood. Or was it because I'm just too lazy to drive to Redondo or Hermosa? Either way, I'm happy it's here now. It's next to Howard's/Ralph's in the marina so plenty of parking. Once inside you will find splatter orange for the walls. Kind of retro vibes yet fresh at the same time. Just like their smash burgers. They are so simple yet so delicious. Their duck fat fries are also a must. I usually just get their PS burger, because I like to taste simplicity. But that pastrami burger does look tempting for next time! They don't have the fish sandwich like Redondo. This availability was for lent but if they do decide to have it then it will be after April. Currently they have beers by Burning Daylight out of lomita. Matt, the owner is a total beer geek so I dig that he has local craft on tap. Filipino lonnganisa sausage (savory sweet), atchara (pickled papaya slaw), and banana ketchup on smash burger patties in a traditional filipino pan de sal (bread with salt roll). They have an arcade that takes quarters, I asked for quarters and the register had 3 so I couldn't play (they should over stock quarters since the arcade could be profitable) they also aren't serving beer / alcohol currently I guess new owner so they lost the license. The sauce is 1 dollar a sauce which lowkey feels overpriced, I wanted to try them all since it was my first time and spent $3 between 3 sauces for the experience. The special sauce was my fave the ranch and aioli were just okay and I wouldn't spend the extra cash on again. Came in here with my girl before going to see a movie to check out the hype and I was pleasantly surprised. We both got the founder burger along with some soft serve swirls. The burgers were great no complaints here. The founder is like a elevated McDonald's cheeseburger and I say that in the best way possible better ingredients, better taste, and it doesn't leave you feeling guilty after for eating crappy McDonalds But the surprise star of the show for us was the soft serve.
