My friends invited me for drinks at Palapa at PCH & 2nd. The food comes from their restaurant Ola Mexican Kitchen, which is right next door. Nice outdoor with comfortable seating which is also dog friendly. They also have a nice indoor area to drink too. The food was excellent and my friends lived their drinks! Service was great and friendly and not rushed in any way.

Popped in on a Saturday for a small bite and had no problem getting a seat. You seat yourself...which is a tad confusing since there isn't a hostess or sign. Our server was super prompt! It's the sister restaurant to Ola, so you basically get the same menu-justa. More casual environment eating outside with the bar nearby. We really enjoyed the ceviche-it's fresh and flavorful. The spicy strawberry margarita was perfect-just the right amount of spice (not too spicy) with a few fresh strawberries bits. The lobster tacos are full of large chunks of lobster-Soo yummy. The beet and watermelon salad wasn't what I expected...was more like a salad with a few beets and sliced watermelon. I was expecting mostly beets...was okay.

My husband and I went on a Saturday night around 6:30p.m and found a seat immediately. It's pretty laid back so you sit where you want and the waiter came to us right away for a drink order. The chips and salsa are so delicious! I love a fresh crunchy tortilla chip! A plus for restaurants is when they leave the bottled water at your table to pour at your leisure. Nothing I hate more than having to flag a waiter down for a refill. Our waiter was great, kept checking on us through out the evening. My husband had the poke nachos which he loved and I had the rib eye steak enchiladas.. I was a little worried because I ordered well done.. thought I'd be chewing all night but to my surprise the steak was so tender and juicy! The enchiladas were so good! I look forward to going back and trying more items on their menu

Nice to sit outside and good service. My 3 male friends enjoyed their fish tacos but I thought my pork belly tacos so so. Not really much to them. Better ones around town. Sorry. I also did not think the drinks that great especially given the price. Tried two different martinis and 1) kind of small and 2) kind of weak. This place has a great location and I'm sure pays mucho dinero in rent. Need to spiff up the food. Check the local competition for tacos.

This is an extension of Ola Mexican Restaurant. It's a fun outdoor space with a central bar area. We were here for the Happy Hour that goes until 6pm. The Chicken Quesadilla, the Chicken Taquitos, the Beef Flautas and the Guacamole were great. The Spanish Mai Tai was excellent, with a nice golden color.

Beautiful outside bar with view of Marina. Enjoyed a skinny margarita, fish tacos, and my son had Ole burrito. Food from Ola restaurant was good and worth a visit!

Palapa Restaurant, is located at 2nd & PCH Center, on the second floor. Palapa is an extention of their sister restaurant Ola Mexican Kitchen. Palapa, has an island-themed Tiki bar it has a wrapped around bar with sitting ares. The outdoor dining has an amazing views of the Los Alamitos Marina, the boats and the ocean are just perfect. We came here to celebrate my birthday. They have complimentary tortillas chips. The tortilla chips are seasoned - springle with Tejin lemon flavored and salt. We selected dine at Palapa because of their outdoor dining because we brough our dog and we can only dine outside. The ambience is casual- contemporary with large beautiful outdoor lamps and an area with outdoor fire pit. We ordered the red beet & watermelon salad, fresh guacamole for the tortilla chips, 2 tacos. My daughter ordeted their chicken soup it comes with 2 rolled taquitos, hold down I had a strawberry -Jalapeno Margarita so refreshing so delicious and (Expensive) Keep in mind when ordering any meals it all coming from Ola Restaurant because Jalapa does not have their own kitchen. It may take longer to get the order Ps please don't blame the server. Service was on point he was attentive and friendly. He offered to-go boxes because honesty our eyes were bigger than our appetite. Parking 2nd & PCH has a parking structure the first 90 minutes are free. Pay for parking with credit cards at the pay stations or exit gates. No Cash or Apple pay. If you are in the area and like an awesome marina vies, an awesome Margarita and of course awesome food. Stand by say hello!

Went on a Friday afternoon during happy hour (3p-6p). We got there right at 3p so wasn't crowded at all. I love the vibe there! Nice view overlooking the marina. It was a perfect day out. Let me tell you something idk if I was starving but this food was soooo delicious. It hit the spot. For appetizers I had guacamole and chips and shrimp ceviche. Everything was so fresh. Only thing I would say is the shrimp was whole. I would have liked my shrimp chopped. My son ordered a carne asada burrito and I had the lobster tacos. I don't really eat beef but I tried a piece of his meat and it was delicious. Had so much flavor. I've never had lobster tacos before but they were awesome. The tortillas tasted so fresh like they just handmade them. This is definitely a redo with the girls.

This review is solely for the strawberry jalapeño margarita. We stopped here briefly for a drink because it was all we had time for. And it was amazing ! I had it with no alcohol and it was easily the best mocktail I've ever had. I'd come back just for that drink alone. The service was not bad either.

I'm so bad at keeping up with reviews that I don't even remember when it was that I was here. I just know I was and though it started out rocky, overall, I ended up having a good time. Parking. Structure or there's a lot across the street on the water. I can't speak for how much the structure was - but it wasn't cheap. But, I was there for at least four/five hours. I don't know the details for the lot across the street but read the signs. Started out rocky. There wasn't a host/hostess and the bar staff ignored me. So, I just sat myself at a table that wasn't cleared but that's because I didn't want to sit in the lounge chairs or out in the sun. Took a while before someone came by to clear the plates but that said someone would come by to take my order. Didn't happen. I eventually walked up to the bar and asked if I could just place my order with them which finally prompted them to send someone out to help. Service was slow but friendly. Come to find out that there was only one server for the outside tables. Not the server's fault. Management either didn't care to have someone help him, or help him themselves. Anyway ... Drinks and food were decent. My friends and I basically just ordered the menu. See pics. I didn't post all because I both forgot and a few weren't post worthy. Blurry and some too dark. But I did enjoy the drinks as they weren't watered down or too boozy. The mix was balanced and aligned with my taste. I don't remember much about the food except that we cleared the plates. I'm sure I'd remember if it was bad. Had to wait a while for the bill. At one point, we just walked up to the bar to close out the bill. Not sure why the bartender couldn't handle it as we had to wait for the server to get back to the station to handle it for us. So, big question, will I go back. Not sure. When management is content with service or staffing like it was, I liked the drinks enough to want to go back, but I don't want to put the staff thru being forced to run around like a chicken with its head cut off because they're the only one working the floor.

They've a waterfront location with the most lush environs and sumptuous atmosphere. Dark & tranquil with a hint of sexy and the bay views - come on now. The menu is so fresh and bursting with Asian flavors, and nothing was too heavy. Do try the hoisin ribs - so tender - and the chicken wraps, which were so bright; the burger was also a hit. For the table, the Buddha Rice - hearty and perfect to split. Their staff was all fantastic and it starts at the top. Manager Joe brings a genuine touch to every guest encounter -- he's rich for conversation, so grab him when he makes his rounds and allow him to suggest a fantastic wine pairing. Beautiful service all around. Also worth noting: while they're perfect for enjoying date night, they can easily accommodate larger groups as well. It may have been a rehearsal dinner or joint bachelor/ette they were hosting, but either way, they were entertaining a large party who were also having a blast. Wonderful energy, great vibes. Looking forward to visiting with friends soon!

Ambiance is nice, very romantic by the water, you can see the sunset while enjoying cocktails or a glass of wine. Food was good, I had the miso glazed mahi-mahi, I would prefer a side of salad instead of 2 cups of mashed potato, sauce was a little on the sweet side for my taste. My husband had the Scottish salmon, and he cleaned his plate, the sweet potato hash w/ pancetta was yummy.. it enhanced the taste of the salmon. My sister in-law had the pan seared scallops, I also think that the side should be optional instead of rice and there was only a few pieces of the scallops. My brother his friend had the Wasabi crusted filet mignon, which they've enjoyed but also should have options for the sides, not everyone like mashed potato, the mushrooms was a bit salty, maybe better with shitake & asparagus. We have the calamari and warm fried brie which were delicious :) Maybe they can add the fried tofu as an appetizer instead of brussels, just a suggestion. I've had the Tahitian Sunset which was too sweet for my taste but you can taste the flavor of the passion fruit , the strawberry fields was better, maybe next time I will try the cucumber crush... I will highly recommend this place, you will definite enjoy yourself with a singer/band performing while you enjoy the food.

This place is honestly a joke…read more We waited in line for almost 2 hours while security kept people outside for no reason -- and when we finally got in, there was so much open space inside. It wasn't even close to full. They're clearly holding people outside on purpose to create fake hype, which is honestly pretty messed up. You're telling me dozens of people are stuck waiting forever while there's plenty of room inside? It's giving manufactured crowd and poor management. To make it worse, they stopped serving drinks and turned the lights on at 1:15 AM, way earlier than literally any normal bar. So after wasting hours in line, you barely even get time inside. And it somehow gets worse -- at 1:35 AM they were literally kicking people out of the restroom. We weren't even allowed to finish or wash our hands before being rushed out. That's not just rude, it's straight up unhygienic and disrespectful. Overall, completely overhyped, disorganized, and not worth the wait at all. Don't fall for the line -- it's fake.

The instructors are great and the crowd is fun diverse (in terms of age, background, and experience dancing). The djs are also awesome play a lot of good music. The vibe is fun and high energy. It's nice to see a place that is filled with dancers of all skill levels just having fun and learning to dance. The venue itself is beautiful. They have a large open air dance floor that overlooks the marina as well as a smaller dance area inside near the pool tables. The decore is classy and elegant overall. On salsa nights they have drink specials in addition to the regular drink menu. Lastly I once lost my key fob there and someone returned it to their lost and found. I'm forever grateful to whomever returned it and the staff at the front door / lost and found. Overall it's an awesome place to come out and hang out and dance.
