The Kroft is the first spot on the left when you walk into the crowded Hangar. Seating inside is limited, but with the entire hangar available, you'll have plenty of places to land and enjoy your food. The burger was solid, but the sauce is what really made it for me. The poutine fries definitely stole the show, though. The chicken katsu was also on point, and the little details, especially the shichimi and amazu-zuke, really completed the dish. It was an EPIC sandwich... Came on Tuesday evening, I signed up for the Elite event and was very excited try this place out. When I got here, I didn't realize it was in the LBX. Plenty of parking of course. Vibes here is always welcoming. Got to the register and ask a couple questions for the worker, she was very helpful. I went with the steak and cheese sandwich combo. The hanger on a Friday night is a festive environment. Outside the hanger there were many families, kids, random adults, swilling beverages, a picnic-like atmosphere. We cruised into the LBX Hangar and decided on eating food from the Kroft. We opted for Portobello mushroom fried and the classic fries which were brown gravy, cheese and parsley. Being that I don't make brown gravy at home and I don't make french fries at home, these were gooey delicious and lived up to their slogan of "comfort food reinvented". The food came out quickly, and they used text message in order to get the notification to us that our food was ready. Claire was our helper at the cash register. Being that I was clueless upon arrival, she was very patient and helpful with us. It's not health food but it was a very welcome treat on a Friday night with my family. read more

The Kroft is a restaurant located in a food hall. There's plenty of communal seating. I got the regular wagyu burger for around $11 and it was very lack luster. It truly didn't taste like anything special and I felt like the portion was small. For what it was, the price wasn't justified. At the very least, it tasted like a decent burger. Since the restaurant is in a food hall, the food was presented in a paper bag. It did not come with utensils nor napkins, so you may want to ask them for some when you pick up your order. They do have happy hours Monday-Friday 3-6pm with 50% off sides, beers, and wines. It might be worth checking it out then. read more

One of my favorite places to go during happy hour. I recommend checking this out, especially between the hours at 3:00 and 6:00 Monday through Friday. They don't skimp out and most importantly staff is friendly. Hard-working and does their best. Because they are fast casual dining, the location they're in allows you and your friends to all get something different if you do not feel like eating here. The food itself is hot, made to order, and to my knowledge none of it is flash Frozen. Oh and their libations are top choice. read more

It's been a little while since I've been to The Kroft, but wow have they upgraded their menu! I was honestly really impressed with the food and will be definitely coming back again soon! During the holidays, they have a "Leftover" Sandwich and Poutine that truly feel like a whole Thanksgiving feast packed into one sandwich/fries! The sandwich has turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, fried onions, arugula, turkey gravy, and garlic mayo on ciabatta bread. The "Leftover" Poutine is similar but has french fries, cheese curds, and parsley instead of the arugula and garlic mayo. A lot of ingredients in one, but they all work well together! They usually offer it during the last couple of months of the year. They also have a new French Onion Smash Burger which is amazing! My new favorite item here! It has two wagyu beef patties, provolone cheese, grilled onions, garlic mayo, and French onion spread on a parmesan crusted brioche bun. And the best part is, it's served with a side of au just for dipping! It's so yummy! All of their smash burgers are good, but I think this one is the best! In terms of sandwiches, I'm also a fan of their Chicken Parmesan Sandwich as well! Their poutines are always a classic and what put them on the map. I love that they have a lot of options to choose from--I think they usually have around 10 or 11 different ones to choose from. This place is the underrated lunch gem of Long Beach. I think the Kroft gets lost in the noise of The Hangar, but it is genuinely so good. I came specifically for this French Onion Soup Dip Burger, which was gloriously messy, indulgent, and delicious. It came with a side of au jus as well. My bf & I decided to eat here as he's never tried this place. And I've had a good experience from the other locations I ate at. The service was good. The lady helping us was nice & friendly. We both wanted something small. I ordered the kids Mac & cheese and he ordered the fried cheese curds. My Mac & cheese was very liquidy. All the cheese sauce was in the bottom so I had to keep mixing as I ate. Eventually if you let it sit & by the time I got to the bottom, the cheese stuck to the noodles & it was that creamy texture I was looking for. My bf took a bite of the cheese curd & wasn't impressed. He didn't get that expected "cheese pull". I took a bite & got a baby cheese pull. I noticed it wasn't as warm / hot like when you get it freshly made. As we were sitting & chit chatting, the cheese curds eventually became hard & chewy. This place has a cool ambiance, although it can get rather loud on a busy day, like when we went on Sunday as there was an outdoor market going on outside. The white sauce inside really set it apart from other French onion burgers I've had. I was able to order on the toast app and i only had to wait a few minutes for it to be ready when I arrived. It was hot outside, so I decided to eat there in the air conditioned hangar. The fries were also very good! I've been here a couple times before and I'm excited to come back and try their cheesesteak and chicken parm sandwiches. Get here by August 10th to try their French onion Wagyu smash burger.
