I came here with my parents on a Saturday around 12:30pm. It was kind of loud, so I had a hard time hearing. Thankfully, they take your name and number, then text you when your order is ready. My dad got the BBQ Ranch Smash Fries. My mom got the Grilled Cheese. I got the Beef Melt. Fortunately for my dad, we agreed that the fries were the best. In Packing district. Walked in and looked at photos on wall.The Smashburger caught my eye. So I ordered the combo but thru my phone. It was my first time using the app. I ordered but it was a bit confusing. I went up as my text arrived that my Combo Smashburger was ready. As I got my food I looked around to find a place to sit as you know this place is always packed and stuffy down stairs. The smash burger that I ordered also included a nice caramelized crust, which provides a smash burger additional flavor. I paired my smash burger with their gravy smothered fries, topped with fried chicken. Their gravy smothered fries were excellent because they were very crispy prior to being smothered in gravy, and the fried chicken on top of the gravy provided an additional crunchy texture and seasonings to each bite of the fries and to the gravy. The combination of the gravy smothered fries and fried chicken made for a rich and deliciously flavored dish that could have easily been its own holiday treat. Inside the Kroft there was very little seating. However, despite the large crowds and long wait lines during the holidays, the Kroft staff were friendly and helpful! Getting a table and having a chance to enjoy their food while experiencing the great vibe of the Packing District was relatively simple and enjoyable. Etched in the packing district with dozens of food options to choose from, one of my favorite options to choose from for food that always satisfies whatever mood I'm in is The Kroft. Small seating area (to be expected it's the packing district), the menu is plentiful and the workers are helpful, especially with a lot of items I've never tried before. Got the loco moco and the classic fries, and my goodness I could eat 10 boxes of each. Fries are cooked well, nothing dry of any sorts and the additions to each stand out in their own respective ways. My son was arriving at LGB aka Long Beach Airport and so after picking him up we went to LBX Hangar to see what interests my taste buds when I walk around the food court. So I saw their rotisserie cooking up the pork belly Porchetta and so I went with the Porchetta sandwich. Some cheese curds with garlic Mayo and a French onion smash burger. The service was ok, at least there were no mistakes. The burger and sandwich were good. The Porchetta on ciabatta was a bit oily, but very tasty. I would actually try some of their other sandwiches. I rarely go to the Anaheim Packing House but every time I do, I get food from The Kroft, and it's always a poutine. You cannot go wrong with the poutine. Service is standard; I received my order in 10 minutes. There's plenty of general seating all around the Packing House, so you don't need to sit directly at the food stand. I usually get the country fried chicken poutine. It comes with sausage gravy, cheese curds, chicken nuggets, bacon, and green onions. The last time I got this, the chicken was very dry, almost overcooked, but this time it was piping hot and the right amount of crisp. Personally, I think there needs to be more gravy and more fries. It is a little pricey though. If you are hungry, I would recommend getting a burger or sandwich with a side of fries. read more

The Kroft has always been a local favorite and it's establishment goes even beyond Anaheim. Thank goodness it's here and has been a long standing favorite amongst the Anaheim Packing District! Now with favorites, comes the locals as I said before, but then also comes the plethora of people filling parking spaces. Now the brightside is you're likely to catch people leaving because of the constant flow of car to foot to car traffic so finding a spot shouldn't be too tricky. When it is though, expect the only best spots near the yard along the train tracks and gravel. ‍‍ Now when you find your way to Kroft for a reward after finding a parking spot, expect service to be thorough, straight forward and quick with their handiness. Every single person I've asked, always had a favorite! And thankfully, these various favorites never carried a huge price tag. Compared to places beyond and around the Packing District, these prices are pretty average, especially for the portion you get. That goes especially for the French Dip. An amazing cut of meat for the sandwich and it also has a savory "french" dip that really carried the meat, onions, bread and sauce together. The Wagyu poutine had good flavor and was definitely the better of the two, but it leaned very salty--the sauce was a bit overpowering and didn't quite live up to the hype. The Packing District itself was pretty quiet at that time, and not everything was open, which made for a more low-key experience. I had such a great experience at The Kroft in Anaheim. I ordered the fish sandwich and it was honestly one of the best sandwiches I've had in Southern California. The fish portions were thick and generous, you get two big pieces, and it's easily enough to share. I still finished it because it was that good. The seasoning had the perfect amount of spice, super flavorful without being overwhelming. I skipped the cheese since I don't eat dairy, and it was still amazing. The bun really stood out too, it was soft, fresh, and held everything together perfectly. Nothing was falling apart, which made it really easy and enjoyable to eat. I also got fries on the side and they were crispy and delicious, and the sauces were just as good. The service was great, super smooth and friendly. There's also plenty of seating, which makes it a really nice spot to hang out and actually enjoy your food. The Kroft is one of the many "walk up" food options in the Anaheim Packing District, and is located on the lower floor. They have their own dedicated seating area with several tables, or you can order your food and take it anywhere in the building. I was craving a good burger and ordered their Spicy Jack Smash Cheeseburger. You give the cashier your phone number and they text you when your order is ready. Food pick up is right around the corner from the register at the front of the eatery. The cashier was very friendly, and upon request she gave me a plastic cup for their free ice water dispenser. They were moderately busy and it only took about five minutes for my burger to be ready. There is a row of half-booth/tables right in front of The Kroft and a friend and I ate there. My burger had a great soft, buttery bun with plenty of smash burger meat sticking out. Both patties had a nice char on them, and overall the burger had great flavor. Unfortunately, the heat level was very mild. I was expected more of a kick with spicy jack cheese and roasted jalapeno garlic mayo. My friend had the regular Double Wagyu Smash Cheeseburger and enjoyed it. For $2 less, I would just get that next time. He ordered the spicy fries which had a reddish sprinkle on them, and those were indeed pretty spicy, probably around a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. The Kroft has good burgers reasonably priced, but the lack of spice on my burger left me wanting more. Quick service and super tasty food! To put in perspective. My MIL is one of the pickiest eater. She pretends she's not by eating some portions of her food. It could be a bit salty for others, as to me it was almost, borderline too salty, but since it's just a dip, then it just helped elevated the burger. We got the spicy burger. I wouldn't say it's super spicy, but it definitely has a kick. If you're sensitive to heat, then this will be too much. I'd say if you're a bit accustomed to it, then it's bearable or might even think it's mild. Also, I thought we were going to wait so long, but surprisingly, the wait was faster than I anticipated. The menu is filled with some appetizing options. I'm not a big fan of poutine, which I've heard is great here, but the sandwiches keep me returning. I enjoyed the Fried Chicken Sandwich, Jalapeño Coleslaw, Porchetta Sandwich, and most recently, the Fish Filet Sandwich Classic. The Fish Filet has a well-balanced taste with a soft bun, crispy, seasoned fish, yuzu tartar sauce, and a slice of cheese. It's like an elevated Filet-o-Fish from the big chain. Kroft also offers a Spicy Fish Filet with Gochujang. I've heard good things about the Smash Burgers as well. There are sodas, seasonal drinks, beer, and wine to pair with your meal. I had the Kroft many many years ago but recently went back as I was craving some poutine. They have the best in town! This location is great because it's right inside the Anaheim Packing House. We ordered a smashburger and a braised beef poutine. The smashburger was actually big compared to most smashburgers. The secret sauce is great but I did feel like the outer parts of the patty were too crispy like almost burnt. But overall still delicious! I've always seen potato buns for smash burgers and stuff but a potato roll?!?! For a fried chicken sammie?!? Never have I ever but I'm here for it. It was good but next time I would want to get it spicy for a kick. My husband wanted to try the spicy jack smash burger but it was sold out so he got the double smash Wagyu burger instead.
