Truth be told, doesn't look like much from outside. Inside is...antiquated? However everything is clean. Haven't had the Greek food, which is rumored to be good. Went in for breakfast. Good coffee. Scrambled eggs were cooked well, and the sausage is just crispy enough on the outside (3 links per order, not 2 like most places). The star of my breakfast, by far, was the blueberry pancakes. Just great: fried perfect and plenty of blueberries. The breakfast was VERY affordable, especially considering that it comes with 3 pancakes and 3 sausage (again compared to 2 and 2 at most places). 100% give this place a chance. I checked this place out due to my brother's recommendation and due to the positive Yelp reviews. TBH, the outside surrounding location looks a bit rough, so I would venture to this location only during the day time lol. I got the eggs benedict and a breakfast burrito (because I am basic). I have to say that the eggs benedict is one of the best I've had recently. Yolk was runny and gooey, and the meat was juicy and flavorful. The breakfast burrito was good, but not the best that I've had. Contents were juicy and not too oily. I think they could put in a bit more filling. Most places also include some sort of small side which would be a good complement to this dish. There's a decent amount of seats inside the restaurant. There was always people coming in and out which speaks to the popularity of the place. You can also order to go which is convenient. Staff was nice which is a plus. Below average now like others have said under the current owner who also happens to be unlikeable to me. I used to come here often when the older couple still ran the restaurant and they served much better food. I still remember the older woman's baklava (last time it looked burnt so passed on it) and the older man Willy himself was so kind and friendly. I believe their nephew who was there last time I went was rude. Like another reviewer I had a past experience here when I called in my order and when I got to the restaurant the rude nephew/current owner played dumb saying I didn't order ahead and that pissed me off because I was in a hurry. Very soon after this jerk owner gave me my order so I don't know why he pretended I never called and accused me of lying? I have to thank my fellow Yelpers for their reviews for Willy's Eatery. That's what brought me in to try them out. I was specifically looking for a lunch special and they came up on Yelp after someone posted their gyro and Greek salad combo for $7.00. Well that price was almost a decade old. As we all know prices have gone up significantly in recent years. However that didn't stop me from trying out Willy's. Willy's is located in a 70's era strip mall where Thriftyland Disney discount souvenir store and an In and Out is located. Don't be tempted to chuck out your new experience and jump in the drive through at In and Out. As I pulled up to Willy's a woman was leaving and I asked her if she had just eaten there and she told me she's been going there for years as it's been serving the community for over 3 decades. The restaurant is not very big and the decor with the faux tin pressed tiles on the ceiling and the counter to order at gave off a bit of an old fashioned ice cream shop. I was greeted when I walked in and promptly ordered the gyro sandwich and Greek salad combo which cost close to $13.00. Not bad for a healthy choice for lunch. I'm not a fan of tomato so I requested none on my sandwich or salad. The food came out very quickly with the salad first and it looked great. It had red onion, cucumber, and feta cheese throughout. The dressing was a red vinegar balsamic that was fantastic. It was a lunch sized serving which was perfect. The gyro came out a few minutes later which the pita bread was soft and warm and without the tomatoes it was a very basic gyro with the lone meat and a small serving of tzatziki sauce on the side. I placed some of my salad on the sandwich and viola it was delicious. I enjoyed my lunch at Willy's and will venture back to try other items on the menu. They specialize in breakfast and burgers as well. I hope you enjoy this independently owned non corporate restaurant and support the hard working crew behind the counter at Willy's Eatery in Anaheim. Good, basic Greek food with a lot of other dishes on their menu thrown in for good measure. We wanted Greek. Not Mediterranean, not Persian...you know...there is a difference. And Willie's reviews sounded right on. So, while being briefly distracted by their unique Eggs Benedict menu, the spinner wheel finally landed on the gyros and lamb kefta plates for us. The biggest surprise was the huge bowl of lovely Greek salad that came out first. Heaps of goodies on it - tomato, cucumber, onion, feta, Greek olives, tossed in a light dressing of olive oil and basalmic vinegar. My only wish was for more dressing, which I only had to ask for, and it was cheerfully delivered. Each platter arrived with a generous mound of buttered rice and a small 2 oz cup of their famous homemade chicken broth, which I unceremoniously dumped over my rice. (Since I've never been here before, I was winging it.) Good stuff! The gyros pita wrap was delicious. The ingredients were nice. I believe the gyros meat was a blend of beef and lamb. I just wish there had been a bit more meat for the price we paid. The pita was warmed on the griddle, and it had a crispiness around the edges that I loved. The tsaziki was well made and excellent tasting. The kafta meatballs were quite lamb-y and garlicky, but in a good way. We both love lamb in most any way, shape, or form, and they did it well. There are a few small tables right outside the entry, nothing fancy. So I checked to make sure we could bring our little Rosey, chihuahua extraordinaire. They are dog friendly. As for her share of the booty she has come to expect, she gave her two paw stamp of approval. Willy's is located in an aging strip mall in dire need of a face lift, so have no expectations of fine dining and valet parking here. Just expect good food, cheerfully delivered. Everything was good except for the scrambled eggs. Their scrambled eggs are now made with powdered eggs! They have a grainy texture. Great service and delicious and filling food - what else could you want? I tried the Eggs Benedict Greek Touch with "those potatoes", which is a classic eggs benedict, but with lamb meatballs instead of ham. The meatballs were juicy and very flavorful, and I thought the hollandaise sauce had the most perfect flavor and consistency. I liked the potatoes too. They looked more like hashbrowns compared to other pictures on Yelp, and they seemed to have less distinguishable bell peppers and onions, so maybe I got something different or it was made different when I had it that day. I almost don't want to review this spot, because I'm afraid it'll get crowded and overrun (not based on my review - I'm not that egotistical - but based on everyone's good reviews). But, I also want everyone else to know that you can get good, fresh food with stellar service if you venture just a bit outside of the Disney bubble. This was our last meal in the area before heading back home. The eatery is located in a strip mall, opposite an auto body/car wash building. The interior is kind of small - only a few closely packed tables opposite the counter - and they also had a couple of tables in front of the main window. You order at the counter first, staring up at the oversized menu chalkboard (or, you can snag one of the printed menus and take your time reviewing your options). I went with the Eggs Benedict Carnivore, with the upgraded "Those Potatoes" - basically hash browns mixed with onions and bell peppers ($13.99). My husband ordered the Corn Beef Hash, also with Those Potatoes ($10.99). The coffee was self-serve from the pots on the counter. We snagged one of the open indoor tables and settled in to wait for our food. Let me just pause here to applaud the staff. The kid (and I say "kid" from the comfort of my old age, but I feel like the majority of the people working behind the counter that day were in their early 20's) that took our order and rang us up was incredibly friendly and helpful. He brought silverware to our table, then kept coming back to ask if we wanted or needed hot sauce, ketchup, condiments, salt or pepper - always with a smile in his voice and eyes (I'm assuming he was smiling behind his mask). The food was served quickly, and it was hot, fresh, flavorful and filling. I have to be honest and say that the poached eggs were just a touch overcooked - not enough to be hard-boiled, but definitely not as soft as a poached egg should be - but the flavor of everything made up for that. The steak in the carnivore Bennie was thinly-cut and not overly-seasoned, so it melded with the other flavors. "Those Potatoes" were fine, but I think I'd go without that particular upgrade on my next visit. My husband's Corned Beef hash quickly disappeared from his plate, as he made short work of the potatoes, hash and bread. His eggs were perfectly cooked, at least, and I know he enjoyed every second of his meal. This is definitely one of our more favorite recent finds, and will be high on our list for dining on our next visit to the area (I'm eyeballing that Gyro sandwich!) read more
