Trendy diner vibes! Quick and polite service! Yummy food! Great variety! Hit of the show was the banana loaf! This was our third visit and they didn't let us down!
My friend and I arrived at noon on a Sunday and there was a minimal wait time. My first visit was okay. Friendly staff, food was ok and the cleanliness was ok. Parking is limited. Prices are reasonable.

Came back to have breakfast with some friends. Enjoyed the great service and cozy dining room. There was no waiting at all. I came to expect the delicious food but was a little disappointed with the Mexican omelette. According to the menu, it contained chorizo, machaca and cheese.. All I could taste was dry egg. No flavor or texture. I almost thought I received the wrong order.

Came here after the gym for some good home hardy carbs. We were greeted and seated right away. Staff were very friendly, service was excellent and quick. Restaurant is quite large with lots of tables, clean and welcoming. It had a nice vibe. Our food came out great and quickly. My omelette was very well made. I loved the option of the banana bread it came with. Parking here is decent but probably harder to find one on the weekends. They have a nice selection of breakfast to choose from.
we came in around brunch time and we were seated right away. it took awhile for our server to come to us so another server had to help us which im glad. we ordered the country steak egg with biscuit and gravy. the biscuit and gravy was so delicious. one of the best spots for biscuit and gravy around here. it's a very spacious place with lots of seating. overall, a delicious experience and definitely coming back again!
The moment you walk in, you're hit with the bright, clean lines of a modern American diner -- all crisp edges and fresh paint. It feels like the kind of place that wants you to hang out for a while. Then the loud FM radio kicks in, pumping out a stream of commercials and generic pop, and suddenly you're calculating how fast you can eat and escape. Is that ear rape on purpose? It's the one jarring note in an otherwise pleasant room. Out front, a Farmer Brothers truck idles like a warning - we aren't coffee people One hopes it's just a driver getting breakfast but I see the logo on the carafes and decide against coffee. The menu, though, is a happy surprise. Nearly every item carries a little twist that lifts it above standard breakfast fare, even if everything runs about five dollars more than the neighborhood norm. They're serving wild boar for breakfast, for God's sake. That kind of ambition gets my attention. The staff are sharp in their uniforms, moving with quiet professionalism. A couple of tables lingered with dirty dishes when I arrived, but by the time I finished my meal, the place had been quietly set right. I started with the biscuit and gravy which came out early. It was solidly good -- the kind of honest, homemade plate the name "Scratch Room" demands -- but it didn't ascend to the remarkable. The potatoes were thick, rough shreds, nicely griddled but crying out for salt and seasoning. The real star was the chile verde draped across a cheese omelette. Just a handful of pale pork chunks, barely seared if at all, stewed until they reached a tender, uniform softness I immediately filed away for my own kitchen experiments. The sauce itself was beautifully balanced: bright, peppery, properly spicy, with no greasy heaviness weighing it down. I loved it. The water, of all things, tasted unusually clean -- filtered, served in those retro blue plastic cups that look brand new. Next time I'll be ordering their famous banana bread. Because when something's famous at a place called Scratch Room, you listen. And the B&G wasn't all that anyway.

My favorite breakfast spot in Anaheim near Disneyland, well worth the short diversion.
The service was lovely, everyone was really nice and we didnt have to wait long for our food. The biscuits and gravy were hefty and good. We made ourselves feel better with fruit on the sie which I really enjoyed because it wasnt your basic melon variety. Also, they let you take home coffee.
Ultimately I don't know what was worse, the food or the prices. We ordered the chilaquiles with carne asada which came out to $32 per plate. As someone that eats these a lot, the nicest thing I can say about them is that they are NOT SEASONED. Please do not expect authentic chilaquiles, they needed so much salt that it kind of ruined the experience. The carne asada was also missing flavor 4/10 The drinks are cheap which is a plus 10/10, but please DO NOT expect anything great out of the chilaquiles. They also hide the prices in the menu so you are totally ambushed in the end. I have a picture of the receipt below for reference. Disclaimer: This is only one plate, so do not base your entire opinion about this place with one plate.

She then looked at my husband and said, "Come on," which felt a bit abrupt. She seated us at a small two-person table with very little lighting, right next to a fire extinguisher. I hesitated to ask for a different table because her demeanor didn't seem very welcoming. Shortly afterward, I noticed a white couple of two come in and they were seated at a booth without hesitation. While my husband was in the restroom, the hostess came back to ask what I wanted to drink. I took the opportunity to ask if we could move to a table with better lighting. She pointed to the table directly next to us, which wasn't much different. I mentioned that the booth area seemed to have better lighting. She paused for a few seconds and said, "You don't want that table." After another moment, she said, "Fine, you can sit at the booth." Once my husband returned, we waited a few more minutes before our server took our order. To be fair, the server appeared to be handling several tables and was actually very friendly, attentive, and pleasant throughout our visit. Then another white couple came in, and once again the hostess seated them in a booth immediately with no hesitation. At that point, I couldn't help but notice the difference in how tables were being assigned, and it left me feeling uncomfortable. Whether intentional or not, the interaction with the hostess created a negative impression that affected the overall experience. The food itself was excellent. I would rate the food **5/5 stars**. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. We didn't mind waiting for the food because the quality was worth it. Our waitress checked on us and asked if everything was okay. We requested napkins, and she returned with four napkins, which gave us a little laugh. **Food: 5/5** **Waitress: 4.5/5** **Hostess: 1/5** **Overall Experience: 3/5** Overall, the food and service from our waitress were great. Unfortunately, the hostess's attitude and the way the seating situation was handled left a bad taste in my mouth and overshadowed what otherwise could have been a very enjoyable brunch experience.

Had a great experience the first time and since me and my boyfriend was in Orange County, I decided we should come back for some breakfast here and I had mixed feelings. The server we initially had was amazing, she was so sweet and funny and checked in on us. Didn't catch her name but she was an older lady. She went on break, and the new server didn't check in on us, just came and dropped the check on the table and never came back. Didn't even get to ask if we needed any boxes to go. I ended up having to walk up to the counter to pay where another server had an attitude as well. She just told me to leave it on the table. No bye no thank you for dining with us just RBF. Food wise, it was good. $12 for a stack of pancakes seems steep but it was good. The Asada skillet was decent, the steak was a little bit on the cooked side than what I prefer. I liked that they were able to sub the beans for potatoes.

Came here for a Sunday brunch and was not disappointed. It's a smaller sized place so there was a short wait but there are chairs outside so it wasn't long for a party of 2. Staff was super friendly and we had two waitresses helping us (confusion or on purpose I don't know). I normally go for a "standard" breakfast but decided to try their skillet and I was glad I did because it was really good. Only downside was the toast wasn't really toasted more so just warmed up. Would definitely go back tho. read more

10 out of 10 Loved this place we were staying in the area and decided to go here for breakfast, great choice It was pretty busy but we got seated quickly out waitress Nicole was awesome very funny and helped us pick our meals. Big portions everything was flavorful and good The banana loaf was fantastic My omelette was so good eggs were fluffy. Vegetable vegetables were delicious. My side of fruit was perfect. The country fried steak was so good. We literally had no complaints. Like I said, it was pretty busy in there, but you could still have a conversation and hear yourself. It was a great vibe. Everything was super good. I would definitely recommend this place and I would definitely go back. read more

You gotta get here early or after the rush because otherwise there's a nice little wait. And since they make everything fresh then it's understandable why there's a wait. This last time we came the service was great. Communicative and checking if things are all well. Sad news was they don't have the classic breakfast burger anymore. Heard that some people complained it was too spicy?! Those complainers ruined it for those of us that like spicy they made their sausage on that breakfast burger make you love no other sausage lol. Well the chorizo breakfast burger is the next in line that was hearty and yummy with the side of potato wedges. The children French toast and mini pancakes are always a hit. Great bfast spot in town. Parking might be a little tight so be ready to park near the lavandería. read more
First time here there were 5 of us we hadn't seen each other in a while and we were catching up. I was taking my time looking Over the menu they have a lot of good choices I didn't like that I felt I was being rushed to order waitress came three times and every time she seem to have an attitude that I wasn't ready to order it was around 12:30 and there was only two other tables not like it was overly full. Food was good but i definitely wouldn't come back simply because I felt rushed. read more

After dropping my car off to get serviced, we headed over here for breakfast. It was pouring rain and we decided we wouldn't wait longer than 15 minutes. Lucky for us, as soon as we walked up, a woman came outside and said "Just two of you? I have a table right here." We got the last open table at 9:45 AM on a Saturday. By the time we left there were at least 20 people outside waiting. For this place being as packed as it was, the service was great. We were there about 45 minutes and never had to wait for anything, everybody was totally on top of it. The food was very good. I had heard about their banana bread so I ordered a side of it, but the waitress told me it was already an option for my meal. This place is NOT messing around! I had the Original Eggs Benedict, it came with a choice of potatoes, hash browns or fruit, AND a side of toast, banana bread or biscuits and gravy. Wow! Banana bread came out first, a large slice, steaming hot, with yummy salty butter. We loved this, it reminded us of a cross between cornbread and a muffin, it was definitely more savory than sweet. My Original Eggs Benedict was very good, although I thought the sauce could be a bit richer in taste. The Canadian bacon was tender and flavorful, eggs poached perfectly, loads of well cooked potatoes, onions, and one, lonely piece of red bell pepper on the side. Husband got the Chorizo Bacon Burger, which the menu states is "chorizo seasoned bacon," so he was expecting bacon slices. What he got was loose chorizo crumbles that tasted like bacon. It was really tasty, but not what he was expecting. His hash browns were fine. The bill was $41 for our two meals and one iced tea. I think we would come back here again, not sure how long we would stick around if there was a long wait though. read more

I'm always in search for new breakfast spots. I got the popeye omelet special that has bacon, mushrooms, and spinach along with the homemade banana loaf. The omelet was good. I wanted to love the banana loaf but it was a bit on the drier side. Service was great! I went right when they opened so not a lot of people but I never ran low on coffee and the server was attentive. Parking: no issues as they have a private lot. read more
I ordered their California Benedict's with a side of hash-browns and a biscuit with gravy. Everything was super delicious!! The place looked extremely clean and I left wondering what other delicious sounding food items on the menu tasted like. I am not from the area so I won't know for a while but at least now I know a good breakfast spot for when I come back! read more

Scratch and sniff because this place smelled delicious, The Scratch Room in the city of Anaheim that is! Located in a small shopping plaza, with plenty of free parking, and easily accessible off of the 5 freeway exit Magnolia. We placed our name on the waiting list which was on a clipboard outside the front door and waited about 15 minutes, there were 4 other groups ahead of us. We were seated in a half booth table and happily sat down because I had this restaurant bookmarked for quite some time, many years, and finally had the chance to try this popular breakfast/brunch spot. I ordered the country fried steak which was a skillet with potatoes and 3 overeasy eggs, with a biscuit and gravy on the side (all come together for this meal), and was very filling. I enjoyed the batter of the country fried steak which was light and flaky, yet not too over the top with the breading and still allowed me to taste the thin steak without being too overpowering. The gravy for both the country fried skillet and the biscuit had nice small bits of sausage, would have appreciated a little more gravy, but still tasted great. So if you want to have a breakfast with a menu of many options from traditional to Mexican, then no need to scratch your head on where to go, just make your way to The Scratch Room! read more
We ended up here randomly after our og spot was a 45 minute wait on a Saturday morning and glad we did! We were seated right away. Ordered the Cali-Chicken Omelette w/ potatoes and my husband got the Hungry Man w/ pancakes. Everything was delicious and tasty! Portions are huge too so I def took mine to go. Really glad we tried this place. Restaurant is pretty big so it can accommodate big parties. Service is also wonderful!!! Servers are so kind and attentive even though it's busy. They try to connect with customers, which really gives that old school diner vibes. It makes people's day! Will definitely be back! read more

I love breakfast. They offer a lot of different options here and the portions are huge! Everything was tasty and delicious. So fresh and so hot when it came to the table. They were packed and busy, but the service was quick and they servers were friendly. It's a great place for families, it's spacious and comfortable. read more
Came here for brunch on a Saturday. It was pretty packed, but I was able to get seated right away. They have a ton of different options on their menu. I ordered the CA chicken omelette and it was delicious! I chose the banana bread and my side and I'm still dreaming of it! It was the perfect amount of sweetness. The omelette was packed. Only thing I'd say was it was too much cheese clustered in one spot. The servers were attentive. I'd love to come back and try more from their menu! Only thing is that it was crazy loud in here I could barely hear my bf talking right in front of me. read more

I'm usually not the type to write comments but I wanted to bring this to other customers attentions since I don't see it mentioned. My sister and I were on our way to Disneyland and decided to grab some breakfast outside of the park. We saw that The Scratch Room had great reviews and decided to try them out. We ordered the protein bowl and chile verde omelette along with their scratch made loaf. The loaf was ahmazing! We loved it and paired with the salted whipped butter, perfect combo. The chile verde was good along with a side of potatoes were also tasty but the steak in the protein bowl was so hard to eat. It barely any taste to it and I added not only black pepper and salt but also Tabasco. The steak was raw and was full of veins I could not even chew through. I understand some pieces but EVERY single piece of meat is ridiculous. We later asked for the check and I had hope that when the server came to clear the table, maybe they would ask how the food was, seeing my plate full of unchewable steak but no... Then! When the server came back with our check we noticed after paying the total charged amount increased slightly so looking back at the check we notice they have a "3% surcharge on credit cards that is not greater than our cost of acceptance". Though it was also our fault for not taking out the check to double check, it would've been nice of a staff to mention it as they were walking off with our credit card to pay with. read more

The food was amazing! The CA eggs Benedict was perfection and the giant piece of banana bread that came with it, YUM!!! But the best part was the service. The ladies there were the best! Super friendly and amazing customer service. Highly recommend. Tried to get them to plant one in Corona. read more

Everything! The service! The food! Ambiance! Food was so good that I completely forgot to take a picture before I devoured it! Sandra knows the menu & if it's not there she will make it happen ! I wanted blueberry pancakes with the blueberries inside & on top! Sandra made it happen! She's awesome ! Ambiance was wonderful too! We will definitely be back! They have many great food options. I dont think they have a private room but they definitely have tables to push together for a large party.

We went on. Saturday morning around 10 and we waited about 10 mins but it did get busy by the time we left. And there's only about a dozen tables. I'd call if I were you Worth the wait though.
Do they still have the chicken and waffles?
As of a few weeks ago when I was there, yes. You could even opt for chicken and pancakes or french toast instead.
Do you sell bottomless mimosas if so how much?

Yes there is! I don't recall what was on it but my son got silver dollar size pancakes and bacon.
