Spanish omelette, country fried steak, banana pancakes
    Eileen L.

We were up really early randomly and got hungry. Showed up at 6:30 on a Sunday and there were already people inside! It has a cozy and homey diner feel to it. We ordered the Spanish omelette and a country fried steak. For $2 extra we upgraded one stack of pancakes to the banana pancakes and it was soo good!! That was definitely my fave thing here!

Be prepared to wait for about 15 minutes for a table, inside or out. Very crowded and noisy but service pretty good. I wasn't real hungry, so my husband ordered ham steak, eggs over easy and pancakes. He said the ham steak was good. I ate two of his pancakes, pretty good. We also got war syrup which is a plus. I had coffee also pretty good and a side of bacon. The bacon is great and thick, I ate 2 of the 3. This was the least expensive breakfast we've ad in a long time. Our server was Maria M, but everyone pitched in, including the cashier. Negative, food did not come out at the same time. Pancakes, then ham/eggs then finally the bacon. Prices were very good, coffee $3.99 with plenty of refills.

This is an iconic breakfast place. They are always busy, even on weekdays so prepare accordingly. The staff is very welcoming and efficient. The menu is extensive so expect some tough choices. We got dutch baby, swedish pancakes, and a side of bacon. Dutch Baby- It's light and custardy with just the right amount of sweetness. Served powdered sugar and lemon that adds a touch of brightness to every bite. Swedish Pancakes- They are thin and lacelike, almost like crepes. Served with a generous amount of lingonberry jam that is fruity and delightful. Bacon- Crisp and meaty. It added a savory touch to the meal. Great experience overall!

Always great fresh food, quick service. The best breakfast spot in OC! There's a reason it's so popular and busy. I always get chocolate chip pancakes because they're SO GOOD. My boyfriend ordered the chorizo omelette, had a bite and it was perfect. Parking lot is very small and always busy.

What We Ordered: Corned Beef Hash ($10.25), Side of Bacon ($7.75), Bacon and Eggs ($17.25), Sausage Links ($7.75), Country Fried Steak is & Eggs ($18.75), German Pancake ($19.50), Apple Pancake ($19.50), Coffee ($3.99). For the Country Fried Steak ($18.75), I substituted the pancakes with hashbrowns for $2.00, which is a good deal because you get a healthy portion. The steak itself was not bad, but not great either. I felt the gravy was a bit too salty, even for Country Fried Steak. I'm a big fan, but I would skip it here in the future. The Corn Beef Hash is a bit pricey at $10.25 and was nothing special. It tasted like it came out of a can. I could get something similar at Ralph's. The Bacon ($7.75) was okay, nothing special, but my son and father-in-law liked it. I've had better and wouldn't recommend it here. The Sausage Links ($7.75) came with a small portion for the price, and they were a little burnt. I wouldn't order them here. Our server, Ray, was very attentive and hardworking. He constantly refilled our coffee ($3.99) without being asked. He also gave great suggestions. He mentioned the Apple Pancake ($19.50) is like a giant cinnamon roll, and it was very sweet, which my family didn't enjoy. I thought it was a bit too sweet as well. The German Pancake ($19.50) reminded me of an open-faced popover with a soft, eggy texture. You can customize the taste with lemon slices and sugar. This was the favorite dish at our table, and we would order it again. I've had The Original Pancake House bookmarked for a while and I'm glad I finally made it. It wouldn't be our go-to spot, but we might come back once a year. Overall, I wouldn't rush to return. Some dishes were better than others, but it didn't live up to the hype, in my opinion.

Good breakfast place in Anaheim. My wife and kids love American breakfast and this was the rare occassion I felt like having breakfast. We came around 8 in the morning and it was already pretty crowded, there is a parking lot on back you will have to turn into a small entrance from the street to get to. I love the vintage graphics on the cups, unchanged artwork since 1953! Outside is a strangely updated and modern street sign and I wish they had kept the old logo. Corned Beef Hash: 5 stars, it was covered in crunchy charred bits that I rarely see and it tasted amazing, gave the already delicious corned beef a crunchy, bacon like quality and reminded me of a a smash burger. A must order if you like corned beef. Hashbrowns: Calling these out because they come as a neat circle on a circular plate and its the only breakfast place I've been to that serves it like this. Pancakes and waffles: These tasted OK, but they came hot and the butter melted easily on them.

The service was exceptional! Our waiter was attentive and warm and we received everything we ordered in a timely manner. We tried the 49er pancakes and I loved how thin and springy they are. You don't feel as stuffed eating them. My partner said these were the best pancakes he's ever had at a restaurant which is saying a lot because he always orders pancakes for breakfast! We shared the western omelet which had a good portion of all the ingredients inside of onion, bell pepper and ham - they really loaded it up! The egg wasn't overdone in anyway and was fluffy throughout. The hashbrowns were your classic but I think they could've been a bit crispier. This place is a staple and always good when you're craving pancakes!

Decent breakfast spot but wouldn't go out of my way for it. Came here because we didn't know what to eat and breakfast food sounded good. Love that you can join the waitlist from mobile so we didn't have to wait too long on a Saturday morning. Everyone raved about the Dutch baby pancake and I love Dutch baby pancakes so I had to try. Slightly disappointed cause it was pretty soggy :(. The highlight to our meal honestly was their bacon. If I could just leave a review for their bacon, 10/10 but i know it doesnt work that way :p. Service is pretty quick and they have outdoor seating. Glad I tried but prob wouldn't come back since there's more options in the area.

solid spot for classic American dinner breakfast but the standout was the amazing service. Shoutout to our server Jesus!! He made us feel right at home and was super friendly & outgoing. He made sure we were taken care of & that our waters were always filled definitely will come back just for the atmosphere & service

Apple waffle - these are thin waffles, not thick, Belgian style.

I've been here once before years ago and remember that it was very good. I had the opportunity to visit again this Thanksgiving weekend, Black Friday to be exact, and the place was jumpin'. They were packed, the parking lot was full, but fortunately we were able to get the handicap spaces right in the front. They do have handicap access with a built in wheelchair lift right outside the entrance next to the stairs. I really appreciated the help from the kind and helpful staff in getting me and my walker safely up and down. We were a party of 6, and were seated in less than 5 min on Black Friday. Our waiter was Jose (I hope I remembered correctly). Oh my goodness, this man was amazing. He did flips and jumped through hurdles to make our dining experience a very enjoyable time. This man deserves a raise! He worked tirelessly helping all of his customers. My order was the Fresh Vegetarian Omelette and since I don't eat tomatoes, I requested to substitute for spinach and they did with no issue. My second substitution was a specialty waffle instead of pancakes and that was also done without any issue. I love to go to restaurants that don't mind accommodating their guests according to different tastes or dietary requests. The Fresh Vegetarian Omelette was phenomenal. I love how everything is round. The omelettes are round like a stuffed egg soufflé or quiche. Inside was broccoli, spinach, and mushrooms. Topped with Jack cheese. The round hashbrowns, I believe, are sent down from heaven because they are buttery and crispy and all the things you would dream them to be. Our entire table shared one order of hashbrowns, but I'm telling you now...get your own for yourself. You're not going to want to share after you taste them. The Apple Waffle was also delicious. I didn't care for the warm apple syrup that is made in house, but I did like it with the maple syrup. The Granny Smith apples that were supposedly inside the waffle weren't very noticeable or seen, but I could taste the essence of apple. Otherwise, I like that they use the thin waffle makers instead of the thick, Belgian style makers. I prefer the thinner waffle, which I feel makes a crisper outer coating. If you're ever in town for a trip to Disneyland or a concert or show, make sure you stop by the Original Pancake House before you return home. Weekends are busiest, so try to go during the week when it's not as busy.

I came here wanting to have some Swedish pancakes. However, when I was told that their Swedish pancake is one large, flat pancake, very crepe-like, I changed my mind. I ended up opting for a Chorizo Omelette. The Omelette was served in a shape more akin to a round, flat loaf of bread. The eggs were very fluffy, perhaps a little too fluffy. I don't find chorizo to have a very overpowering taste, so the mild chorizo taste was perfectly acceptable to me. The table service was very friendly. Orders were very quickly prepared by the kitchen. Parking can be a problem. At busy hours, which means most of the time when they're open, the parking lot in the back can become full. With road construction on Lincoln limiting traffic flow, finding a parking spot can take longer.

Adding some photos of my favorites: the omelette is huge (4 egg) and comes with pancakes. I love the cottage cheese pancakes. It remains my favorite Sunday breakfast place. Great service. Great atmosphere. Great people.

Upon arrival your greeted with a smile! I love our host Jesus. The wait is usually worth it. Or jump on Ope Table and Add your parry to waitlist. The ambiance is very loud,so expect a lil noise, and lots of yummy food. Even though they are super busy, the service is on point and never have to ask for a coffee refill. I would recommend the German pancakes, maple bacon, hash and eggs and the seasonal Best place to eat and enjoy family style or morning breakfast for 2. BTW plenty of parking next door,a school. Thanks to the staff for always making our visit a delight
