Honestly, I felt really bad walking in literally as soon as they opened but surprisingly I was treated and welcomed in with a smile! You do have to wait outside tho so they can find a table for you, please make sure to leave your name in the paper with the exact number of group that you have if you have one. The maximum group amount there is 6 since it's a smaller cafe/brunch restaurant. I got sat down very fast the wait wasn't even a minute. My server Lukas (with a K) was very helpful and friendly, the host as well was checking on me every once in a while along side Lukas. Great smile, great customer service. It didn't seem like it can fit big parties and there's an automatic 20% gratuity for parties or 4 or more. It was a 40 minute wait to be seated. Once seated, we wait to order but our food didn't take too long to come out. The pancake was doused in butter which was good but heavy. I also got the chilaquiles with chorizo. I absolutely love this place! I've been coming here for about 5 years. I will also post my Google review from back then. The great customer service, amazing food and delicious café de olla has been consistently on point. I come to get their chilaquiles with both salsas and order it with steak cafe de olla is a must. I've had their French toast and they are really good too! The other day I ordered my chilaquiles to go but as I arrived I saw that their was seats available. Since I was with my son (moms if you know you know the struggle to get them out and put them back into their car seat for pick up orders), I asked if it would be possible to have our breakfast there, they said yes! And were very accommodating. They helped my son and I get comfortable while we enjoyed our breakfast together. I wanted to tear up because it made my morning. Yara the cook is the best! She always checks in to see how we are doing, if we need any refills or if the food needed any adjustments. She made sure my coffee cup was full before I left. From the french toast, to the coffee, and the service... everything actually exceeded expectations! For context, I found this spot randomly on yelp, in search for a brunch place in Anaheim. We were a party of 2, so despite a few parties being ahead of us on the physical (paper) waitlist we were seated at peak hours on a Saturday. The menu is large but I think we were spot-on with all of our selections: We got the french toast (with bananas and mixed berries), Christian G protein plate (with yams), Egg Scramble (with a side of pancakes), and the Cafe de Olla (Piloncillo & Cinnamon infused) iced coffee. The french toast was crunchy on the crust and chewy on the inside. The fruits paired very well with the self-serve syrup. The syrup dispensers were great because they would not over-pour (like at a typical iHOP). I chose the yams as my side for the Christian G plate, and it was amazing. Nothing fancy but yams just made the plate 10x better. We were glad we got a two-stack of pancakes because despite their smaller size, they were pretty heavy and would just melt in your mouth. The Cafe de Olla (Piloncillo & cinnamon) was great! We would recommend this coffee. As we were finishing up the meal, the waiter came over and offered a togo cup as we had not finished our first drinks. Unexpectedly, he came out with a fresh new togo cup, plenty for the rest of the day or even tomorrow's cup. Little things like this, vouch for a perfect service score in my book! The restaurant was very cozy, with great decor! I try avocado toast everywhere , it is my favorite but I didn't like the Mexican style avocado toast . Other ppl might like it , but it wasn't for me . And that was the only thing on their menu that looked good to me . The water cups they bring out are really small so we both finished our water right away and had to wait awhile to get more . My family and I visited on a Sunday morning around 10:20, we didn't wait more than 5 minutes to be seated which was great! However, as soon as we walked in we were able to hear the two female cooks up front, negatively speaking pretty loudly about the party that was waiting to be sat. Such a big turn off! The minute we sat down, it's almost as if the clock started ticking. We tried to get our little one settled right away in her high chair by cleaning it because it was dirty (our little one is still teething so she touches everything and places her hands in her mouth) but the belt for it was torn and not working properly. The food was great but I wish we would've been able to enjoy our meal without feeling constantly hurried by the staff. Almost every 3 minutes they checked in to see if we had everything, which is greatly appreciated but it definitely felt as if we needed to get up and get going. Needed to do laundry a couple doors down so my girlfriend and I stopped in to kill some time over breakfast and went in totally blind without seeing the food reviews or popularity influencing us beforehand. They were training a new server so we waited a while for them to take our order, but as soon as they realized we had been waiting a bit, they were overly apologetic about the wait. Staff was very friendly! My daughter got a kids combo with pancakes and my son got the scrambled combo. My only complaint is that this was pretty expensive for breakfast food. I left a 20% tip and it ended up being over $80 for the three of us-, which seems a bit steep considering there was no alcohol involved and one of the meals was a kid's meal. We've never been to Anaheim before so I'm not sure if that's standard for the area, but it's almost double what I'd pay at home to eat out for breakfast. First time here while visiting LA from Sacramento. You sign up outside and wait patiently. It is a small space, limited seating and only 2 women cooking the food where you can watch them. Absolutely amazing Cafe! Decided to come here after my morning workout, and boy was that post workout meal a treat! Atticus Cafe is a small joint, with about 10 tables (eye balling). They do not seat parties of more than six people. The food, coffee, and service were absolutely worth it. I enjoyed their Steak and Eggs plate, and their signature iced coffee (tasted like a horchata coffee, absolutely delicious!). Service was attentive, friendly, and food came out quick. The wait was not long at all but didn't expect it to be very small and hot inside. The heat was not a comfortable experience... the host and waitress did not communicate with each other which led to confusion when getting sat. My guess is because they are all over the place. My biggest complain was how I was told that I couldn't seat my baby on the side of the table, who was sitting on a high chair. I gave the reason, which was so I can feed my child... told no again because of a "safety hazard" and how no one is allowed to sit on the sides. However, as you can see in my picture, the server allowed two people sit on the side which was breaking the "hazard" rule. Clearly this isn't a real rule since he allows others to do so. VERY UPSETTING. The server was rude throughout the entire experience. We ordered three drinks, the cafe de olla was the only one we got. The matcha and vegan Spanish latte arrived after we finished the food. Not sure what type of restaurant gives drinks once food is finished? We did ask on the status of our drinks when the rude server said he was working on them... clearly he wasn't because he started to sweep the kitchen. Once we finally got our drinks, they didn't even taste good. I can get better iced coffee from 7 eleven and a canned matcha from a grocery store.... And that's saying something. I have zero nice things to say about this place. Last complain, the portions are SMALL and taste is very mid. I can go to Porto's for way cheaper and better quality food and experience. I will definitely never come back. And I will discourage anyone from eating here. Overall, it's small, hot, rude server, late & terrible drinks, and small portions. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! I was very unsatisfied with my order of chilaquiles with steak. The portion was little compared to before as well with the eggs. I mentioned it to the server but for some reason they decided to remake instead of just adding a bit more. Thursday morning, around 9am we are seated next to the window in a quaint little restaurant in a surprisingly comfortable table: The place is small but mighty. The heart of the place is the kitchen and it's a great show to watch. What a truly incredible scratch kitchen and service. Husband had Green Chilaquiles. (Also offered in Red). In 8 years I haven't seen him this excited over food. Homemade tortilla chips, perfectly seasoned chorizo, delicious eggs and crema. As he finished the dish he declared these chilaquiles the best breakfast he's ever eaten. - A little offensive, if you ask me. What a yummy brunch spot! It's small, but the food is big in flavor. I was looking for some breakfast/brunch after getting ready to leave a conference and Atticus Cafe came up nearby. I'm so glad we stopped by. It's located in a strip mall and you write your name down on their clipboard and wait to be seated.
