A nice little American cuisine in old town Tustin. It looks like burgers are one of their signature items since they have a nice variety of them. Out of all of them, I chose the Wyatt Earp because it had Apple wood bacon, bbq sauce, onion ring and cheddar. Make sure to get it medium that way it's still juicy. You have to get fries if you are getting a burger. They have a good variety from sweet potato fries to regular fries and some with seasoning. I was recommended the Cajun Fries which always sounds good when you have that old bay spice. As it sounded, the burger was very tasty, and juicy. Had really nice smoked flavor from the bacon there. Came out here several times and thought I wrote a review one of those times but guess nots. Can't believe it as this place Absolutely spectacular burgers. Their classic hamburger/cheeseburgers are just superb. Add the garlic fries cuz they're amazing. This past weekend we decided to try something different. Got the hot pastrami sandwich (toasted rye bread with decent amount of pastrami slices and pickles) and Antonio burger (angus patty with cilantro/jalepeno, pico, avocado, lettuce, and pepper jack cheese). The former was pretty standard. The latter I would pass on, just better on taco than a burger. Nevertheless pretty good burger in old town Tustin. Very cute western vibe. We came in on a Sunday afternoon and we taken right away. We were originally in Anaheim but this place was highly rated on Yelp so we did the 20 minute drive. ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!! We started off with the garlic tots. The tots were perfectly crunchy without being burnt or soggy. The fresh garlic has a sharp bite but the Parmesan cheese cools it down. Next we got their Mac n cheese because we saw they use pepper jack in it. That cheese brings a very subtle spice and has a smooth ending taste that makes you want to go back for another bite. The bacon just adds to the flavor and gives it a nice smoky edge. For the burgers, we got their guilty burger and bacon cheeseburger. They came with a small sample size of their potato salad. These burgers were so yummy we were silent for minutes with how focused we were on the food. I also added some Mac n cheese to my burger and it just took it over the edge! I love a good Mac n cheese burger. Our server was Tiffany and she was such a sweet loving energy. She joked with us at the table and made our stay here even more enjoyable. I order a bacon cheeseburger which was perfect, hubby ordered a pastrami burger which he said barley had any pastrami, sister ordered a guilty burger which was made exactly as asked and was perfect, brother-in-law ordered a Nashville chicken sandwich and said he would've liked the chicken to be a bit thicker. The food was just mediocre () I had the Tuna Melt with rosemary fries and I'll give that the Tuna was a little dry as maybe it's not rotated as often not being a popular sandwich or what not but the rosemary fries were practically naked. I didn't want to make a fuss, so I asked for fresh bread and they brought it out quickly, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, after finishing the steak, I had some of the "fresh" bread left, flipped it over, and found mold on that bread too. Same issue, second time -- so I definitely ended up eating mold. Now to the food. There are so many options to choose from, even with just the sides! They actually have 7 different types of fries on the menu, a few tots flavors, garlic cheesy bites, fried green beans, and then the standards like potato salad, onion rings, and mac & cheese. The burgers are big and juicy, the spicy chicken has just enough spice, and the fries have just the right amount of seasoning. Oh and there are a couple of options for the non-meat eaters too. And last to mention, but not least, you gotta get one of their desserts to end the meal. They have many options for that as well! I couldn't believe this was my third time at American Grub and have never written a review. This place was always chosen by someone else and every time it has gotten a little bit better. Today I got the Steak Sandwich which our lovely server listed in the daily specials. Pretty good, I had to add a little salt to give it some more flavor, but it was juicy and the hoagie bread was delicious. Marlene ordered some garlic fries, I'm not a fan, but I ate more than half of the generous portion.....they were good. Chicken wings tasted good but also on the dried side. I asked for blue cheese (for the wings) and got ranch dressing instead. My chicken sandwich was OK, with pieces of lettuces thrown on top of the chicken and tomato slices. Check your to-go order to make sure everything is there. I always get my burgers well done since it is ground beef. The patty is always juicy never dry not over seasoned, with a beautiful charbroiled flavor.
