Oh Breakfast Republic. When I had some family in SD, this used to be our favorite brunch spot. The pancake flights alone are enough to make me swoon. I love pancakes, but getting try three flavors? Heck yeah! This time, I opted for the vegan tres leches pancakes. Omg. Honestly, one of those things that I would have no idea were vegan unless they said so. Tres leches is a risky flavor to make vegan (I mean, so much milk), but these pancakes were buttery, creamy, and soaked with sweet cream. So good. I paired it with their cafe de Olla which was pretty solid. Great spot for a delicious and filling breakfast or brunch.
Love the breakfast sammie here. Service was also great too. Its a great casual breakfast spot to go with friends/family. That being said.. couple of improvements could be made. Wait time was inconsistent. After being quoted 20 minutes- it turned into 50 minutes without updates. Coffee is also not good here. It tastes watered down and the ube coffee was not great. It's not the worst but if you are a coffee person you will notice the difference. Their potatoes are also too well done for my taste.. too crunchy and fried imo.
On our last trip to Breakfast Republic, I ordered something different. I went with the chicken sausage omelet. Unfortunately, it was drier than a day in the Mojave Desert in summer. It tasted like they precooked the egg, then laid it on a plate and added the ingredients. There was something wrong with how it was cooked. Each item was there, but the flavors did not blend together. I was craving some fresh tomatoes, maybe some melted cheese, or some pico with salsa. Anything that would add flavor. It was bland. It was dry. The toast was not toasted, and I had to add the small amount of butter on the toast. Again, dry and bland. This was not a good omelet. There was no love at all for food or flavor.
I was a little scared about the blackberry jam in my Benedict, but it was surprisingly good. It was subtle and really good with the shrimp and crab cake. The Brussels sprouts were cooked perfectly and season well. I would recommend both. The Bloody Mary with jalapeño infused vodka was really good. Can't wait to come back and try other items.
Breakfast Republic was very busy when we arrived, which is usually a good sign, but the wait was only about 15 minutes and the staff kept things moving along. We ordered the American Breakfast and the Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage Omelette, and the portions were very generous. The Asiago chicken sausage was especially tasty and was one of the highlights of the meal as you can tell I dug into it before taking a pic. The omelette was flavorful with a nice balance of cheese, sausage, and jalapeño. My only minor criticism was the breakfast potatoes, which were a bit too crunchy and seemed slightly overcooked for my taste. Overall, the food was satisfying, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was lively. Despite the crowd, the short wait and generous portions made for a nice breakfast experience.
Came in around 9:45am and it wasn't too busy but things definitely started picking up by the time our food came out. We ordered the bae mac, chilaquiles, and churro pancakes. The bae mac was really good, with perfectly cooked macaroni and bacon that didn't overpower the dish. The chilaquiles were crispy with a flavorful red sauce, and even the house potatoes were great, especially dipped in the leftover bae mac sauce. The churro pancakes were super fluffy and easily my favorite,, light, sweet, and not too heavy. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu. Our server Elizabeth was super welcoming and attentive and really made the experience even better.
My daughter was craving vegan pancakes and she found this spot after searching online. It's a cool spot with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. It's light and bright with a great chicken motif. Although it was a busy Saturday, we were able to get sat in under 30 minutes. My daughter ordered the tres leches vegan pancakes, which we all loved. I ordered the traditional buttermilk pancakes and they were good, but not the best I've ever had. My wife ordered the chilaquiles and they were very good. Definitely worth another drive to Irvine.
My server/bartender was Sarah "Super Sarah". She was really nice and gave great food recommendations as well as local travel recommendations. The other bartender with her was also great but I did not get her name. The manager Dalton (I believe) was also personable and nice. I really enjoyed the food and my Chamango and Lychee mimosas. The restaurant was chill with a brunchy vibe. I will definitely come back and visit this amazing staff. Upon departure I did get a Mexican mocha iced coffee which was made with love and tasted delicious. Overall this place was a great experience, has a great food variety and a great staff. P.S. We came in hoping it wasn't too long of a wait, we were quoted 40min and decided to wait. There's so many shops around and even Trader Joe's to checkout while you wait to be called! I wish I remembered the gentleman in the host stand because he was so kind! They called us like 25min after they quoted our time so it was definitely quicker than we expected. The ambience is so nice, it's such a busy but super cute place! The food was pretty good, decent eggs, the steak was ok, but for the prices I would be back again, and the service was pretty good keeping in mind how busy it was because it was prime breakfast time.

Parking here is a little difficult as it's located right across from UCI and it's always packed when I go. I debated whether to give this place three or four stars, but I finally decided on three. The reason is that when I first got here, people were waiting in line, so I assumed it was an amazing, must-visit spot. I guess my expectations were just too high, lol. I went with my three daughters, and after waiting outside for a bit, we were seated. We ordered our coffees, looked over the menu, and picked out what we wanted. The server was standing right behind us, but they just kept rolling forks and knives in napkins and completely ignored us. I tried to make eye contact several times, but they kept moving away, so I couldn't even flag them down. After waiting quite a while, the server finally came over and we ordered. I was a bit annoyed at this point, but then the server approached us with a big, friendly smile, so my mood softened up a bit, haha.We each ordered our food and waited, and the wait time for the dishes wasn't actually that long. Once the food came out and we tried it, well, how should I put it? It didn't really have that 'wow, this is amazing' factor. It just felt like your average American brunch. If it were right in front of my house, I might drop by once in a while, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again. There are just way too many delicious brunch spots out there these days...
Such a great breakfast here. We got the Shrimp and Ricotta Frittata and the veggie scramble. Both were fresh and delicious, cooked to perfection. As a keto pescatarian, you can also pay a small upcharge for their seasonal sautéed vegetables as a side instead of home fries and toast. Amazing service from Kim and other wait staff! Full bar with lots of cocktail and mocktail options. Strong, fresh, hot coffee too! The branding is also wicked cute and there's motivational quotes "Easter egged" throughout the restaurant. Clean, unisex bathrooms. Lots of parking in the free 2-hour spaces. 5/5 would recommend. Great for breakfast / brunch with small groups or medium sized groups. Indoor and outdoor seating with a dog-friendly patio.
First time trying Breakfast Republic for brunch. The wait was long, but the atmosphere was nice. Service... could've been better. I ordered the cinnamon pancakes and orange juice. The OJ was actually excellent. The pancakes were good, but not the best I've had, especially for the price. Funny enough, the best cinnamon pancakes I've ever had were during a random road trip stop at an Applebee's somewhere on the drive to Bend (I think Oregon?) and somehow they were serving IHOP cinnamon pancakes. Don't ask me why, but they were ridiculously good. Back to Breakfast Republic -- good food, just not "worth the hype" good. What really got me though was the service and the payment screen. Tip options started at 18% and went up to 25%. Whatever happened to 15%? I was actually trying to leave less because our server NEVER checked back in, but somehow ended up hitting 18% and couldn't change it... so congratulations, card reader, you won. For what it's worth, my son and his Godfather liked their meals too, but both basically said the same thing: "It's good" -- not over-the-top. Probably won't be back, but maybe others will have a better experience.

At Breakfast Republic you'll find a large menu, indoor & outdoor seating and plenty of parking spaces. It gets busy on the weekends, so go early. I've had good, and 'not so fresh' meals there, so it's hit or miss. read more

Breakfast 5/23: ordered the Chilaquiles. The plate was exactly as in pictures on yelp already, the eggs were over-easy and nicely cooked. However, the plate was premade with beand and rice. I think they cook the eggs, then top the chips with the sauce and put the egss on and send it out. Unfortunately, the beans and rice were just barely warm. My wife had eggs benedict and the hollandaise was mayo based. It had a weird sour taste. My daughter had the yogurt bowl which was tasty and had some very fresh fruit - extra large blackberries. Ambience was great - you might see your UCI O-Chem professor dining with their family. Staff was extremely nice and service was good. We arrived just before 9:30 and by the time we were done eating, the room was full. I think they were pre-making dishes in anticipation of the busy brunch hour. Overall a 2-star review: if your holding temps are too low, you can easily make someone sick. The hollandaise tasted suspect as well. Potatoes were also very dry on the eggs benedict. read more
Breakfast Republic is one of the standard yet worthwhile breakfast / brunch eateries in Irvine. The restaurant infuses a unique twist to some classic dishes. And if you're hungry, this place will fill you up. From steak and eggs, to breakfast Mac and cheese, to their classic breakfast with eggs, bacon, potato and toast. The ambience is very casual with friendly and prompt service. We never had breakfast Mac and cheese so we gave it a try. Needless to say, cheesy, hearty, and you'll leave feeling satisfied. The steak was a bit in the chewy side but otherwise a solid 8/10. They give quite a bit of potato with almost every dish and understandably so, well seasoned and addicting. I also tried their matcha latte, which was just okay but that's only because I had really good ones elsewhere that colored my opinion. read more

Looked up crab cake Benedict and Breakfast Republic did not disappoint!!! Alondra was an amazing server and took wonderful care of us. The cocktails were just as delicious as the meals. We even had to take a pic of the empty plates because they are just as worthy as the food. Can't wait to come back and try the other locations!! Thank you ALONDRA!!!! read more
Located in the UTC complex, breakfast republic is a perfect place for students who want to do brunch without a car (aka me). I love that they have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options, which gave me plenty to choose from. I got a harvest omelette, and it comes with choice of bread, butter, jam, omelette, and LOTS of potatoes. Overall, I enjoyed the warm food and service was pretty quick (I did go on a weekday). The prices are kinda high, but I would come again! read more
You're really going to like this place. The line out the door might tip you off to the fact that it's a local favorite. We were given a 15 minute wait but it only took about 5. The menu is nice. It's got the breakfast classics as well as sandwiches for old Joe. I prefer a sando. The prices are on the higher side but the food is delicious. The wait staff is fun and interactive. The ambiance is playful and a little boozey. They have a pretty cool bar set up over here. Another cool thing here is the merch. You can get a cool T, a hat, salt n pepper shakers, mugs, even sunglasses. It's a good time here at Breakfast Republic. read more

Arrived at 10am with a party of 4 for a Monday brunch and was promptly seated. Jessica was our server and she was wonderful and attentive the entire stay. All the food came out together and tasted delicious, but the frittata was room temperature and the potatoes were a bit soggy. Overall a lovely visit. read more

Local breakfast joint in the heart of Irvine by uci. I love the concept with the eggs and chicken. They even have their own theme merch and plates they used. - steak and eggs: amazing. It's simple but delicious - breakfast burrito: love it. It's not too much potato or eggs. It comes with steak unless you ask for another protein. It is served with rice and bean. The only downside is the "salsa" that comes with it. It is not good at all. - pancake: simple. Can't go wrong - chilaquiles: it's served with rice and beans. It's a good portion size. It's good but not the best All in all, it's a great local breakfast place to go to. They have plenty of parking. Service is always decent. Pass on their hot coco read more
Came in on a Tuesday to catch up with a friend and were seated right away! The place is really cute and cozy with comfortable bench seating & an outdoor patio. The food was delicious! Eggs benny with tomato & avocado + chilaquiles with avocado. Yum! Would've been 5 stars but our server wasn't the best. She took a while to get our order in & bring the coffee (I watched it sit for 10 minutes before she got around to it). Maybe they were understaffed. She rushed us out after an hour of being there, which was a pretty big bummer and took my food away before I was done with it. She asked us to leave because of people waiting but there were other open tables & no one outside. Not sure what the deal was, pretty disappointed in the service. Hopefully the management will train their staff to allow patrons to stay at least an hour & a half like other places. read more
Always a pleasure to come here for breakfast. Very fun and casual spot and clean and inviting. Super busy on the weekends, expect a wait but it's worth it in my opinion. During the weekdays you can expect to be seated right away. Service has always been super friendly and prompt and food is 5 stars! My go-to is the traditional eggs Benedict and the eggs have always been cooked to perfection. It's the best eggs Benedict I've had so far and food is consistent. Their potatoes are delicious and they give you a generous amount each time. Their homemade ketchup is the best and you can buy a bottle to take home with you. Really fun for groups! read more

But the host convinced us to sit at the bar where we met Sarah... and let me just say, an absolute MUST MEET. Funny, charming, and the best espresso martini we have ever had. Came here on a whim. On Sunday prime brunch time approx. 10am Host said 30 min wait time, we got lucky 2 seats opened at the bar (first come first serve). Wasn't greeted, no menus, No friendly faces. Took a bit to be acknowledged. Drinks: ordered the bloody Maria. It was fine. Too thick. My date ordered the mule. He said it was sweet and artificial. Food: the cheddar Jalapeno sausage omelette with potatoes and sub pancake. Potatoes were dry. They were mostly the tiny, crisp scraps. :( The breakfast burger was decent. 3/5 Not sure if the omelette was small or the plate it was served on was huge. Won't ever come back. read more

We came here as a group of 10. We were treated very well, we ordered and had our food out in a timely manner. Alondra M., one of the waiters, was AMAZING. She took the time to take our orders and make any changes that we wanted. She was very helpful and consistent. She also made it very easy to split the pay. Aside from taking our orders, she was just very sweet and took the time to have conversation with us. I highly recommend this place. We made a reservation that was ready in 30 minutes, the food options were amazing, they have a wide variety of drinks and it's in such a nice place. read more
