We also really enjoyed the atmosphere it was a nice place to sit down, enjoy our food, and spend time together. The staff was great, and our server Alondra was amazing! Can't believe we had not tried this before! We came early a Sunday morning and got lucky with no wait so we sat right away. Everyone loved their meals. The lemon pancakes were seasonal but so delicious. I also loved my coffee boozy drink, I forget the name. It's a very relaxed ambience, almost like a hipster cafe and we sat outside on the patio. Love the breakfast sammie here. Service was also great too. Its a great casual breakfast spot to go with friends/family. That being said.. couple of improvements could be made. Wait time was inconsistent. After being quoted 20 minutes- it turned into 50 minutes without updates. Coffee is also not good here. It tastes watered down and the ube coffee was not great. Great spot, we had a group of 7 and were seated right away. The service was wonderful, the food amazing. Really big portions and great flavor. Our group tried the breakfast shot and really enjoyed it. Not one issue with any of our dishes. The decor is really fun, we enjoyed looking around at the various sayings. Today we stopped by breakfast R and the food and service was amazing Daniel/ Sarah who was our bartenders/server. Daniel did a great job with suggesting different types of menu options for us to eat both my wife and I have different dietary restrictions and he was able to accommodate all of our needs for our breakfast. My wife had the American breakfast (jurazic bacon,season veggies, overhard egg, and sourdough), and I order the protein bowl. I was a little scared about the blackberry jam in my Benedict, but it was surprisingly good. It was subtle and really good with the shrimp and crab cake. The Brussels sprouts were cooked perfectly and season well. I would recommend both. The Bloody Mary with jalapeño infused vodka was really good. On our last trip to Breakfast Republic, I ordered something different. I went with the chicken sausage omelet. Unfortunately, it was drier than a day in the Mojave Desert in summer. It tasted like they precooked the egg, then laid it on a plate and added the ingredients. There was something wrong with how it was cooked. Each item was there, but the flavors did not blend together. I was craving some fresh tomatoes, maybe some melted cheese, or some pico with salsa. Anything that would add flavor. It was bland. It was dry. The toast was not toasted, and I had to add the small amount of butter on the toast. Again, dry and bland. This was not a good omelet. Oh Breakfast Republic. When I had some family in SD, this used to be our favorite brunch spot. The pancake flights alone are enough to make me swoon. I love pancakes, but getting try three flavors? Heck yeah! This time, I opted for the vegan tres leches pancakes. Omg. Honestly, one of those things that I would have no idea were vegan unless they said so. Tres leches is a risky flavor to make vegan (I mean, so much milk), but these pancakes were buttery, creamy, and soaked with sweet cream. So good. Firstly, I want to say that the inside and outside of the restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing and absolutely love the whole setup of everything. The decor and the theme of the rooster is implemented well throughout the restaurant. Our waiter was very friendly, and honestly each worker that we all came across were quite friendly. The presentation of the of the food was quite exquisite, and of course the camera has to eat first. The only thing I have to critique, is the potatoes needs a bit more seasoning for me but other than that the whole meal was delicious. I will be back to try other items on the menu. read more

Breakfast Republic was very busy when we arrived, which is usually a good sign, but the wait was only about 15 minutes and the staff kept things moving along. We ordered the American Breakfast and the Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage Omelette, and the portions were very generous. The Asiago chicken sausage was especially tasty and was one of the highlights of the meal as you can tell I dug into it before taking a pic. The omelette was flavorful with a nice balance of cheese, sausage, and jalapeño. My only minor criticism was the breakfast potatoes, which were a bit too crunchy and seemed slightly overcooked for my taste. My daughter was craving vegan pancakes and she found this spot after searching online. It's a cool spot with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. It's light and bright with a great chicken motif. Although it was a busy Saturday, we were able to get sat in under 30 minutes. My daughter ordered the tres leches vegan pancakes, which we all loved. I ordered the traditional buttermilk pancakes and they were good, but not the best I've ever had. My wife ordered the chilaquiles and they were very good. The chilaquiles were crispy with a flavorful red sauce, and even the house potatoes were great, especially dipped in the leftover bae mac sauce. The other bartender with her was also great but I did not get her name. The manager Dalton (I believe) was also personable and nice. I really enjoyed the food and my Chamango and Lychee mimosas. My son and I usually love to go here for breakfast but today was a big disappointment. First, when we were sat down, my chair was soiled and wet so I had to flag someone down to help clean it before I could sit. Then, we sat there for at least five minutes with no help, even after asking someone who our server was. A party of 6 was then seated next to us and they were quickly greeted and brought water. While we still sat waiting for any service at all their server came back and took their order. At that point we decided that it was time to leave since even if we were able to order we would have a delay in our food since the large party had placed their order already even though they had arrived after us. I first tried Breakfast Republic years ago in SD and am so glad they since expanded to many more locations in OC and LA county. The food here is delicious and the service is impeccable; everyone is so sweet and is always checking up on you. Parking here is a little difficult as it's located right across from UCI and it's always packed when I go. I went with the rooster flight and mixed and matched both pancakes and French toast; soo delicious and a great choice if you like variety! read more

As a keto pescatarian, you can also pay a small upcharge for their seasonal sautéed vegetables as a side instead of home fries and toast. Amazing service from Kim and other wait staff! We came in hoping it wasn't too long of a wait, we were quoted 40min and decided to wait. There's so many shops around and even Trader Joe's to checkout while you wait to be called! I wish I remembered the gentleman in the host stand because he was so kind! They called us like 25min after they quoted our time so it was definitely quicker than we expected. Located in the UTC complex, breakfast republic is a perfect place for students who want to do brunch without a car (aka me). I love that they have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options, which gave me plenty to choose from. First time trying Breakfast Republic for brunch. The wait was long, but the atmosphere was nice. Service... could've been better. I ordered the cinnamon pancakes and orange juice. The OJ was actually excellent. The pancakes were good, but not the best I've had, especially for the price. Funny enough, the best cinnamon pancakes I've ever had were during a random road trip stop at an Applebee's somewhere on the drive to Bend (I think Oregon?) and somehow they were serving IHOP cinnamon pancakes. Don't ask me why, but they were ridiculously good. Back to Breakfast Republic -- good food, just not "worth the hype" good. What really got me though was the service and the payment screen. Tip options started at 18% and went up to 25%. Whatever happened to 15%? I was actually trying to leave less because our server NEVER checked back in, but somehow ended up hitting 18% and couldn't change it... so congratulations, card reader, you won. For what it's worth, my son and his Godfather liked their meals too, but both basically said the same thing: "It's good" -- not over-the-top. She took a while to get our order in & bring the coffee (I watched it sit for 10 minutes before she got around to it). Maybe they were understaffed. She rushed us out after an hour of being there, which was a pretty big bummer and took my food away before I was done with it. She asked us to leave because of people waiting but there were other open tables & no one outside. Not sure what the deal was, pretty disappointed in the service. Local breakfast joint in the heart of Irvine by uci. I love the concept with the eggs and chicken. They even have their own theme merch and plates they used. - steak and eggs: amazing. It's simple but delicious - breakfast burrito: love it. It's not too much potato or eggs. It comes with steak unless you ask for another protein. It is served with rice and bean. The only downside is the "salsa" that comes with it. It is not good at all. - pancake: simple. Can't go wrong - chilaquiles: it's served with rice and beans. It's a good portion size. Asked food runner if the item could be reheated, they returned with the plate just hot but food still cold. Unsure how that solved the problem. They offer foods that are to be served with syrup normally, but charge you to receive syrup (pancakes, French toast etc). Soda was flat and tasted like water. Breakfast 5/23: ordered the Chilaquiles. The plate was exactly as in pictures on yelp already, the eggs were over-easy and nicely cooked. However, the plate was premade with beand and rice. I think they cook the eggs, then top the chips with the sauce and put the egss on and send it out. Unfortunately, the beans and rice were just barely warm. My wife had eggs benedict and the hollandaise was mayo based. It had a weird sour taste. My daughter had the yogurt bowl which was tasty and had some very fresh fruit - extra large blackberries. Ambience was great - you might see your UCI O-Chem professor dining with their family. Staff was extremely nice and service was good. We arrived just before 9:30 and by the time we were done eating, the room was full. I think they were pre-making dishes in anticipation of the busy brunch hour. You're really going to like this place. The line out the door might tip you off to the fact that it's a local favorite. We were given a 15 minute wait but it only took about 5. The menu is nice. It's got the breakfast classics as well as sandwiches for old Joe. I prefer a sando. The prices are on the higher side but the food is delicious. The wait staff is fun and interactive. The ambiance is playful and a little boozey. They have a pretty cool bar set up over here. Another cool thing here is the merch.
