Went here on recommendations from Yelp. Maybe I set my hopes too high but it was a bit of a disappointment. The food was wonderfully plated but lacking in flavor. The bloody Mary was delicious. Service was good. Well I wouldn't say it was a bad experience I am certainly in no hurry to return
Everything was super delicious! The food was fresh, flavorful, and the portions were really good. Everything we ordered came out looking amazing and tasted even better. We also really enjoyed the atmosphere it was a nice place to sit down, enjoy our food, and spend time together. The staff was great, and our server Alondra was amazing! She was very attentive, super kind, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our whole meal. She checked on us and was always willing to help with anything we needed, which made our experience even better. We had a really great experience overall and left very happy. We will definitely be coming back again! Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for delicious food and great service!
Can't believe we had not tried this before! We came early a Sunday morning and got lucky with no wait so we sat right away. Everyone loved their meals. The lemon pancakes were seasonal but so delicious. I also loved my coffee boozy drink, I forget the name. It's a very relaxed ambience, almost like a hipster cafe and we sat outside on the patio. Highly recommend a try if you're up early or don't mind to wait.
While the service was good, the food was kind of average and so were the drinks. I ordered the chicken sausage fennel omelet. I was highly disappointed that they used less than half a chicken sausage in my omelette. Why? Why the poor stingy portion? The potatoes were HORRIBLE!!!!! Saturated in rosemary! Yuck! The omelette was ok. I have made better ones at home.
This was our first time at Breakfast Republic, service was amazing. Our server name was Gloria and she was very kind. I ordered the chilaquiles they tasted delicious. I typically have green sauce but I was very pleased with the red sauce. My coffee was delicious I order the Mexican Mocha and it was perfect more sweet just how I like it. My friend order the steak and eggs and it was delicious as well. Steak was cooked perfectly. She had the Salt and Carmel coffee it was refreshing. Definitely will come back. Gloria and all the staff are amazing and very kind.
I was a little scared about the blackberry jam in my Benedict, but it was surprisingly good. It was subtle and really good with the shrimp and crab cake. The Brussels sprouts were cooked perfectly and season well. I would recommend both. The Bloody Mary with jalapeño infused vodka was really good. Can't wait to come back and try other items.
On our last trip to Breakfast Republic, I ordered something different. I went with the chicken sausage omelet. Unfortunately, it was drier than a day in the Mojave Desert in summer. It tasted like they precooked the egg, then laid it on a plate and added the ingredients. There was something wrong with how it was cooked. Each item was there, but the flavors did not blend together. I was craving some fresh tomatoes, maybe some melted cheese, or some pico with salsa. Anything that would add flavor. It was bland. It was dry. The toast was not toasted, and I had to add the small amount of butter on the toast. Again, dry and bland. This was not a good omelet. There was no love at all for food or flavor.
Great spot, we had a group of 7 and were seated right away. The service was wonderful, the food amazing. Really big portions and great flavor. Our group tried the breakfast shot and really enjoyed it. Not one issue with any of our dishes. The decor is really fun, we enjoyed looking around at the various sayings. The coffee cups with the levels of engagements were our favorite! We are not local, but if ever that way again will for sure stop back in.
Love the breakfast sammie here. Service was also great too. Its a great casual breakfast spot to go with friends/family. That being said.. couple of improvements could be made. Wait time was inconsistent. After being quoted 20 minutes- it turned into 50 minutes without updates. Coffee is also not good here. It tastes watered down and the ube coffee was not great. It's not the worst but if you are a coffee person you will notice the difference. Their potatoes are also too well done for my taste.. too crunchy and fried imo.
Oh Breakfast Republic. When I had some family in SD, this used to be our favorite brunch spot. The pancake flights alone are enough to make me swoon. I love pancakes, but getting try three flavors? Heck yeah! This time, I opted for the vegan tres leches pancakes. Omg. Honestly, one of those things that I would have no idea were vegan unless they said so. Tres leches is a risky flavor to make vegan (I mean, so much milk), but these pancakes were buttery, creamy, and soaked with sweet cream. So good. I paired it with their cafe de Olla which was pretty solid. Great spot for a delicious and filling breakfast or brunch.
Great spot for a Sunday morning breakfast. It gets busy - we waited about 30 minutes - but it was absolutely worth it.The coffee was strong and bold, the kind that wakes you up right away, and it paired perfectly with the tres leches pancakes I ordered. The pancakes were fluffy, delicious, and the sweetness balanced really well with the coffee. Their Power bowl was really good too. I added chicken, and that was a great choice - lots of delicious protein and super satisfying. Overall, a solid breakfast spot with great flavors and a lively weekend vibe.
Breakfast Republic was very busy when we arrived, which is usually a good sign, but the wait was only about 15 minutes and the staff kept things moving along. We ordered the American Breakfast and the Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage Omelette, and the portions were very generous. The Asiago chicken sausage was especially tasty and was one of the highlights of the meal as you can tell I dug into it before taking a pic. The omelette was flavorful with a nice balance of cheese, sausage, and jalapeño. My only minor criticism was the breakfast potatoes, which were a bit too crunchy and seemed slightly overcooked for my taste. Overall, the food was satisfying, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was lively. Despite the crowd, the short wait and generous portions made for a nice breakfast experience.
Firstly, I want to say that the inside and outside of the restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing and absolutely love the whole setup of everything. The decor and the theme of the rooster is implemented well throughout the restaurant. Our waiter was very friendly, and honestly each worker that we all came across were quite friendly. The presentation of the of the food was quite exquisite, and of course the camera has to eat first. The only thing I have to critique, is the potatoes needs a bit more seasoning for me but other than that the whole meal was delicious. I will be back to try other items on the menu.

Breakfast 5/23: ordered the Chilaquiles. The plate was exactly as in pictures on yelp already, the eggs were over-easy and nicely cooked. However, the plate was premade with beand and rice. I think they cook the eggs, then top the chips with the sauce and put the egss on and send it out. Unfortunately, the beans and rice were just barely warm. My wife had eggs benedict and the hollandaise was mayo based. It had a weird sour taste. My daughter had the yogurt bowl which was tasty and had some very fresh fruit - extra large blackberries. Ambience was great - you might see your UCI O-Chem professor dining with their family. Staff was extremely nice and service was good. We arrived just before 9:30 and by the time we were done eating, the room was full. I think they were pre-making dishes in anticipation of the busy brunch hour. Overall a 2-star review: if your holding temps are too low, you can easily make someone sick. The hollandaise tasted suspect as well. Potatoes were also very dry on the eggs benedict. read more
You're really going to like this place. The line out the door might tip you off to the fact that it's a local favorite. We were given a 15 minute wait but it only took about 5. The menu is nice. It's got the breakfast classics as well as sandwiches for old Joe. I prefer a sando. The prices are on the higher side but the food is delicious. The wait staff is fun and interactive. The ambiance is playful and a little boozey. They have a pretty cool bar set up over here. Another cool thing here is the merch. You can get a cool T, a hat, salt n pepper shakers, mugs, even sunglasses. It's a good time here at Breakfast Republic. read more

Came here on a whim. On Sunday prime brunch time approx. 10am Host said 30 min wait time, we got lucky 2 seats opened at the bar (first come first serve). Wasn't greeted, no menus, No friendly faces. Took a bit to be acknowledged. Drinks: ordered the bloody Maria. It was fine. Too thick. My date ordered the mule. He said it was sweet and artificial. Food: the cheddar Jalapeno sausage omelette with potatoes and sub pancake. Potatoes were dry. They were mostly the tiny, crisp scraps. :( The breakfast burger was decent. 3/5 Not sure if the omelette was small or the plate it was served on was huge. Won't ever come back. read more
I debated whether to give this place three or four stars, but I finally decided on three. The reason is that when I first got here, people were waiting in line, so I assumed it was an amazing, must-visit spot. I guess my expectations were just too high, lol. I went with my three daughters, and after waiting outside for a bit, we were seated. We ordered our coffees, looked over the menu, and picked out what we wanted. The server was standing right behind us, but they just kept rolling forks and knives in napkins and completely ignored us. I tried to make eye contact several times, but they kept moving away, so I couldn't even flag them down. After waiting quite a while, the server finally came over and we ordered. I was a bit annoyed at this point, but then the server approached us with a big, friendly smile, so my mood softened up a bit, haha.We each ordered our food and waited, and the wait time for the dishes wasn't actually that long. Once the food came out and we tried it, well, how should I put it? It didn't really have that 'wow, this is amazing' factor. It just felt like your average American brunch. If it were right in front of my house, I might drop by once in a while, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again. Always a pleasure to come here for breakfast. Very fun and casual spot and clean and inviting. Super busy on the weekends, expect a wait but it's worth it in my opinion. During the weekdays you can expect to be seated right away. Service has always been super friendly and prompt and food is 5 stars! My go-to is the traditional eggs Benedict and the eggs have always been cooked to perfection. It's the best eggs Benedict I've had so far and food is consistent. Their potatoes are delicious and they give you a generous amount each time. Their homemade ketchup is the best and you can buy a bottle to take home with you. Really fun for groups! read more

There was a little bit of a wait on a Saturday morning, but it was definitely worth it! I ordered the shrimp & grits and it was delish! I added a few splashes of hot sauce to give it an extra kick. I also had an iced brown sugar oat milk espresso that was perfection...not too strong, not too sweet, with a little bit of cinnamon spice. All of the staff were very nice and energetic. Arrived at 10am with a party of 4 for a Monday brunch and was promptly seated. Jessica was our server and she was wonderful and attentive the entire stay. Breakfast Republic was a bit of a disappointment for me, and I'll explain why. I usually look at three things when judging a restaurant for such Yelp review: atmosphere, service, and food. Atmosphere is the strongest part of this place. It looks great inside, with lots of fun details that show thought went into the design. From quirky salt and pepper shakers to cool artwork and even the plates, it's clear someone cared about making it visually appealing. Cozy, clean, and a place you'd want to sit in. Service was good too. The hostess gave me a little attitude when I seated myself (since no one was at the stand), but no big deal. Our waitress was excellent. She was friendly, attentive, and quick to handle extra requests. Food... this is where things fell apart. The ingredients are cheap, the cooking careless. The eggs were so tiny that a "two or three egg omelet" looked closer to one. The potatoes were the worst: deep-fried starch crumbs with nothing fresh about them, oily and tasteless. I think they deep fry potatoes instead of grilling them. Ughhh! This is the kind of food that makes you feel like you shouldn't have eaten it. I came here with my wife because of the name Breakfast Republic, expecting a solid breakfast. But with food this bad, it's just not worth coming back. But the host convinced us to sit at the bar where we met Sarah... and let me just say, an absolute MUST MEET. Funny, charming, and the best espresso martini we have ever had. I was really looking forward to trying Breakfast Republic, seeing the thousands of reviews on Yelp. I ordered the Seasonal Scramble with 3 eggs and seasonal sautéed vegetables. It came with a side of breakfast potatoes. The dish was very dry and salty, and the potatoes were stale. I had to put them in the air fryer for another three minutes and they were not much better. I also ordered the Brioche French Toast, all via Doordash. I didn't think you could go wrong with breakfast. After all, it's my favorite meal of the day. Unfortunately, this was the saddest breakfast I have had in MY LIFE. I am not one to complain or leave bad reviews, but maybe because I ordered on Doordash, the chef did not even care to put in any effort in making my meal. The Brioche French Toast was basically just 2 slices of brioche with butter slapped on it, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. There was no egg in it. To make matters worse, the side of supposed scrambled eggs was a just a solid rubbery mass with absolutely no flavor. They did not season the eggs at all. All I could taste was butter and rubber. I even tried to fix the food by putting some of it back onto a pan on the stove and in the air fryer... but it was unsalvagable. I will not be ordering from or stepping foot into Breakfast Republic again. Definitely not a place you want to go for breakfast. read more

Love love love Breakfast Republic! My girlfriends and I have come here two weekends in a row now. It's a great place for brunch, with a variety of cocktails (including mimosas by the bottle with lots of juices/syrups to choose from) and delicious food. The breakfast mac 'n' cheese is a standout. Dalton and Sarah are our favorites at the bar. They're hilarious and make it an even more fun time! I'd say the only downside to this place is their parking lot, since it's entirely 30-minute limit spots due to the Trader Joe's and Target on either side of Breakfast Republic, but there are a few two-hour spots at the very end of the parking lot. It's also a smaller space so you might have to wait for a table for a bit, which isn't terrible since the ambiance is playful and chill. Also LOL to the guy who claimed he got "kicked off" of the bar this morning--the bartender politely asked if he could scoot down two stools so that our party could all sit together, but he just up and left then decided to whine about it on Yelp, I guess. Weird behavior but okay! (Their staff is very friendly and happy to accommodate everyone accordingly.) It's a lovely brunch spot. We'll be back for sure! read more

We had the best breakfast at Breakfast Republic. I absolutely love that the menu has a vegan section. I had the Vegan Jammin' Bennie and it was delicious. The egg was fluffy. The jam and hollandaise gave it a nice flavor. My husband had the steak and eggs and loved it. We were able to get sat right away at the bar even though the place was busy. The service was fast. The place was clean. I love the decor and all of the little sayings in the restaurant. Give it a try next time you are in Irvine. read more

We came here as a group of 10. We were treated very well, we ordered and had our food out in a timely manner. Alondra M., one of the waiters, was AMAZING. She took the time to take our orders and make any changes that we wanted. She was very helpful and consistent. She also made it very easy to split the pay. Aside from taking our orders, she was just very sweet and took the time to have conversation with us. I highly recommend this place. I've been to this place many times, and overall, it's just okay. Their biggest success is their branding--young, playful, and vibrant. This theme carries through their décor, menu, and even little details like the salt and pepper shakers. Getting a table for weekend brunch can be a hassle. Today's wait was about 45 minutes, which is consistent with past experiences. After being seated, we waited another 15 minutes before placing our order. Although the restaurant was about 60% full, they seemed understaffed and the service was slow. I appreciate that they have vegan options on the menu and fun named dishes like "Jurassic Pork"--a thick slice of candied bacon. I've tried many of their dishes, and they've all been just okay. Today, I ordered the Protein Lover's Omelet. I'd recommend adding something healthier like peppers or spinach, otherwise--as the name suggests--it's very meat-heavy. The potatoes were a bit stale. Our server was friendly and apologetic about the slow service. She even brought a bowl of water for our dog, which was much appreciated. All in all, it was just an okay experience. Ambiance was so lively-- all yellow and bright..comfy chairs wooden tables.. I also love their rollersheet by the wall for menu specials... Service is awesome as soon we were seated after placing our menu we were asking for drinks right away that is good service--- since it was our 1st time here we explored the menu-- so while sippin on great tasting coffee we had a glipse of what they offer... I would say the food is all very tasty, freshly cooked oh their plates and servings are humongous so (beware) but eveything is crispy freshly made. Keep up the great work guys! Thank you read more

Was looking for a place to get brunch with a couple friends and Google said this place was pretty good so we stopped by. We go sat immediately at a back booth. Lots of room. Friendly host. A great start to our visit! The inside is super cute. Lots of fun quotes and sayings in the restaurant, on their cups, in the bathroom etc. Our server, Sarah, was 20/10. So kind and patient as we waited for the rest of our party. She made great food recommendations and just had overall great energy. We ordered a regular coffee and a "specialty latte". I was so excited when I realized it was a combo of vanilla, chai and mocha. It was sweet, but that's how I like my coffees haha For food we got the Cluck Madame Benedict and the chicken fennel sausage omelet. The chicken fennel had the right amount of kick from the jalapeños and the Benedict was pretty good! I would definitely come back and try other items, their menu is pretty big! Went on a Monday morning around 8AM and was FREEZING inside!!! Even the servers had their coats on- so that was definitely a little uncomfortable. Got my usual breakfast sandwich and just realized there is always a literally hole cut out which is a bit silly. Sandwich is delicious, I do wish it was bigger for the price. We also got the French toast sampler which was just okay, nothing spectacular. But this place has the best orange juice and love that they have so many options for breakfast! read more

The Breakfast Republic was a good place to grab some breakfast and we were seated in less than 5 minutes! We first started off with drinks, the matcha, orange juice, and an oreo latte. Out of the three I'd recommend the orange juice as I wasn't the biggest fan of the oreo latte. Our server was very nice and change my drink to an iced matcha when I realized i'd gotten it hot. The food was amazing with the crab cake benedict becoming my new favorite version of eggs benedict. The chilaquiles and sausage were also delicious, although I wouldn't recommend the turkey bacon. The place has both inside/outside seating and the inside has very vibrant decor. read more
