Went here on recommendations from Yelp. Maybe I set my hopes too high but it was a bit of a disappointment. The food was wonderfully plated but lacking in flavor. The bloody Mary was delicious. Service was good. Well I wouldn't say it was a bad experience I am certainly in no hurry to return
Everything was super delicious! The food was fresh, flavorful, and the portions were really good. Everything we ordered came out looking amazing and tasted even better. We also really enjoyed the atmosphere it was a nice place to sit down, enjoy our food, and spend time together. The staff was great, and our server Alondra was amazing! She was very attentive, super kind, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our whole meal. She checked on us and was always willing to help with anything we needed, which made our experience even better. We had a really great experience overall and left very happy. We will definitely be coming back again! Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for delicious food and great service!
Can't believe we had not tried this before! We came early a Sunday morning and got lucky with no wait so we sat right away. Everyone loved their meals. The lemon pancakes were seasonal but so delicious. I also loved my coffee boozy drink, I forget the name. It's a very relaxed ambience, almost like a hipster cafe and we sat outside on the patio. Highly recommend a try if you're up early or don't mind to wait.
While the service was good, the food was kind of average and so were the drinks. I ordered the chicken sausage fennel omelet. I was highly disappointed that they used less than half a chicken sausage in my omelette. Why? Why the poor stingy portion? The potatoes were HORRIBLE!!!!! Saturated in rosemary! Yuck! The omelette was ok. I have made better ones at home.
This was our first time at Breakfast Republic, service was amazing. Our server name was Gloria and she was very kind. I ordered the chilaquiles they tasted delicious. I typically have green sauce but I was very pleased with the red sauce. My coffee was delicious I order the Mexican Mocha and it was perfect more sweet just how I like it. My friend order the steak and eggs and it was delicious as well. Steak was cooked perfectly. She had the Salt and Carmel coffee it was refreshing. Definitely will come back. Gloria and all the staff are amazing and very kind.
I was a little scared about the blackberry jam in my Benedict, but it was surprisingly good. It was subtle and really good with the shrimp and crab cake. The Brussels sprouts were cooked perfectly and season well. I would recommend both. The Bloody Mary with jalapeño infused vodka was really good. Can't wait to come back and try other items.
On our last trip to Breakfast Republic, I ordered something different. I went with the chicken sausage omelet. Unfortunately, it was drier than a day in the Mojave Desert in summer. It tasted like they precooked the egg, then laid it on a plate and added the ingredients. There was something wrong with how it was cooked. Each item was there, but the flavors did not blend together. I was craving some fresh tomatoes, maybe some melted cheese, or some pico with salsa. Anything that would add flavor. It was bland. It was dry. The toast was not toasted, and I had to add the small amount of butter on the toast. Again, dry and bland. This was not a good omelet. There was no love at all for food or flavor.
Great spot, we had a group of 7 and were seated right away. The service was wonderful, the food amazing. Really big portions and great flavor. Our group tried the breakfast shot and really enjoyed it. Not one issue with any of our dishes. The decor is really fun, we enjoyed looking around at the various sayings. The coffee cups with the levels of engagements were our favorite! We are not local, but if ever that way again will for sure stop back in.
Love the breakfast sammie here. Service was also great too. Its a great casual breakfast spot to go with friends/family. That being said.. couple of improvements could be made. Wait time was inconsistent. After being quoted 20 minutes- it turned into 50 minutes without updates. Coffee is also not good here. It tastes watered down and the ube coffee was not great. It's not the worst but if you are a coffee person you will notice the difference. Their potatoes are also too well done for my taste.. too crunchy and fried imo.
Oh Breakfast Republic. When I had some family in SD, this used to be our favorite brunch spot. The pancake flights alone are enough to make me swoon. I love pancakes, but getting try three flavors? Heck yeah! This time, I opted for the vegan tres leches pancakes. Omg. Honestly, one of those things that I would have no idea were vegan unless they said so. Tres leches is a risky flavor to make vegan (I mean, so much milk), but these pancakes were buttery, creamy, and soaked with sweet cream. So good. I paired it with their cafe de Olla which was pretty solid. Great spot for a delicious and filling breakfast or brunch.
Great spot for a Sunday morning breakfast. It gets busy - we waited about 30 minutes - but it was absolutely worth it.The coffee was strong and bold, the kind that wakes you up right away, and it paired perfectly with the tres leches pancakes I ordered. The pancakes were fluffy, delicious, and the sweetness balanced really well with the coffee. Their Power bowl was really good too. I added chicken, and that was a great choice - lots of delicious protein and super satisfying. Overall, a solid breakfast spot with great flavors and a lively weekend vibe.
Breakfast Republic was very busy when we arrived, which is usually a good sign, but the wait was only about 15 minutes and the staff kept things moving along. We ordered the American Breakfast and the Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage Omelette, and the portions were very generous. The Asiago chicken sausage was especially tasty and was one of the highlights of the meal as you can tell I dug into it before taking a pic. The omelette was flavorful with a nice balance of cheese, sausage, and jalapeño. My only minor criticism was the breakfast potatoes, which were a bit too crunchy and seemed slightly overcooked for my taste. Overall, the food was satisfying, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was lively. Despite the crowd, the short wait and generous portions made for a nice breakfast experience.
Firstly, I want to say that the inside and outside of the restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing and absolutely love the whole setup of everything. The decor and the theme of the rooster is implemented well throughout the restaurant. Our waiter was very friendly, and honestly each worker that we all came across were quite friendly. The presentation of the of the food was quite exquisite, and of course the camera has to eat first. The only thing I have to critique, is the potatoes needs a bit more seasoning for me but other than that the whole meal was delicious. I will be back to try other items on the menu.

The Breakfast Republic was a good place to grab some breakfast and we were seated in less than 5 minutes! We first started off with drinks, the matcha, orange juice, and an oreo latte. Out of the three I'd recommend the orange juice as I wasn't the biggest fan of the oreo latte. Our server was very nice and change my drink to an iced matcha when I realized i'd gotten it hot. The food was amazing with the crab cake benedict becoming my new favorite version of eggs benedict. The chilaquiles and sausage were also delicious, although I wouldn't recommend the turkey bacon. Brunch rush at this place is so real! The pineapple turnover pancakes were so fluffy and soft, pineapples added a perfect combo of sweet and tart. The hollandaise sauce on the pesto mushroom Benedict was the highlight to a savory breakfast choice and the breakfast sammie satisfied the craving of both a sweet and savory plate with the thick slice of bacon and runny yolk. House potatoes are crispy outside and soft potato all combined with rosemary making it a great addition. Their orange juice tasted like it was actually fresh squeezed with very slight pulp which I enjoy for brunch. Staff was amazing; very friendly environment and super efficient. A great plus is the variety of seating allowing for families with pets to also enjoy a great meal as well. read more

Came here on a Sunday for lunch and there was a 30 minute wait. It's situated right next to Trader Joe's so we managed to get a shop in before our table was ready. We asked for table indoors and were given an outdoor table under the shaded canopy instead. I have to say listening to the metal chairs scraping against the concrete floor every few minutes was off putting and painful to listen to. It echoed so much because of the canopy and ruined the experience. The Eggs Benedict was good. We ordered a selection of pancakes which were not fluffy and really lacked oomph. The worn, eclectic interior of this place immediately reminded me of popular breakfast hole-in-the-wall places you're more likely to see in Seattle or Portland. This eatery is located in a shopping plaza next door to Trader Joe's at UCI. There's a huge parking lot but it's still a challenge to find a parking spot. I was here with a friend to have a weekday "breakfast-for-lunch". I immediately ordered a strawberry lemonade. I later noticed it was "bottomless" but I was never offered a refill. I wish I had known at the time as I would have demanded a refill because it was really wonderful with a perfect sweet-sour balance. I opted for the "Cluck Madame", a version of Eggs Benedict with ham, gruyere cheese, and bechemel sauce. I also asked for a side of Applewood smoked bacon. The eggs were absolutely delicious. I loved the diced house potatoes even more; so crisp with a delectable seasoning on the outside. The 3 pieces of bacon were diner-greasy with two pieces being crisp and the third one chewy. I rarely make a remark about prices but I thought this side was overpriced for three small pieces. Service was very casual and informal. Enter the spacious restaurant and on a Wednesday morning seat yourself inside or out. The decor is cute and everything is on theme. The service was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, this was the worst restaurant we've been to in a while. I actually feel a stomachache as I'm leaving this review We only came here for breakfast because it was the only restaurant in the center. The coffee was pretty bad, like bitter and flavorless at the same time - couldn't finish the cup and didn't take a refill offer even though it's bottomless. There are a lot of alcoholic drink options which might help one be buzzed enough to overlook the quality of the food. The fresh squeezed OJ was good but it came in a cup that smelled like old dish water and fish. So gross! The breakfast burritos were really bland and actually tasted bad - tortillas stale, eggs powdery, meat bland. The salsa that comes with it is not very nice either so you can't drown the burrito in sauce to cover the taste. The chilaquiles with chicken were a nightmare. The unseasoned lumps of chicken come on the side. I'm really not exaggerating when I say it tasted like microwaved old shredded chicken that expired. Even if the chicken were fresh instead of old, there was no salt or hint or seasoning to make it appetizing. I make fresh food for my dogs that don't even taste like this. I mentioned it to the kitchen staff so they would be made aware that their chicken went bad but they didn't take it off the bill until I reminded them. The sauce that's on the chilaquiles kind of tastes like liquified Doritos but not in a good way. Rice and beans on the side were fine but nothing to write home about. Some time after the initial complaint, the server offered a different protein to replace the bad chicken but I was already starting to feel sick and just wanted to leave by that point. I wish there was some kind of redeeming quality about this restaurant I could compliment but I'm frankly stunned it's still in business. $58 for the worst breakfast I've ever had. read more

We went in during a relatively unbusy time of the day, so we were seated immediately. We ordered the strawberry cheesecake pancakes and the San Diego Benedict. Both were fairly delicious. The pancakes were not too sweet, although they did not really give me a strawberry cheesecake vibe, more so strawberries and cream. The San Diego Benedict was good too, although the flavors did not stand out from a regular Eggs Benedict. Additionally, the country potatoes were pretty typical, but it had a bunch of small crispy potatoes pieces, which is alright if you like that. Seated inside, it had a warm ambiance. We love Breakfast Republic! I swear we eat here at least twice a week. Some of my favorites are the breakfast Jambalaya, Shrimp & Grits, and the Jurassic pork Benny. I've been wanting to try this brunch place out since last year, and I finally got to try it for the first time! Came on a Friday around 1pm and there was no wait and indoor seating was available probably because I came at a later time and it was not a weekend haha. The staff members and our server were attentive and friendly, which I appreciate. I ordered the crab and crawfish cake benedict (which our server also told us it was one of his favorites so I was excited to try), while my friend got the banana split french toast. The food came relatively quick. The crab benedict was really yummy, I devoured it pretty quickly and it was quite addicting to eat. I was surprised by how well everything went well together. The egg on top was poached nicely, the blackberry jam inside was the highlight in my opinion since it gave a slight hint of sweetness to balance the saltiness, there was a generous amount of crab meat, and the sourdough english muffin was fluffy. While the priciest of all the benedicts, it was well worth the price considering there is seafood. I tried a bite of my friend's french toast, and it was pretty decent but nothing special in my opinion. I did like how her sauce came inside a cute chicken holder thing for her to drizzle. The only thing I would say I was not too fond of was the potatoes, making this visit technically a 4.5/5. Though it had a nice slight crunch to it which I liked, most if not all of the potatoes were kind of burnt (which my friend has also warned me about since she also had a similar experience with the potatoes) so I couldn't finish them. I usually like potatoes so I would have liked the potatoes more if it didn't have a burnt aftertaste, so hopefully next time I get any benedict the potatoes will be better. Overall, a solid brunch place in the plaza that I will definitely be coming back to! I am interested in trying their other benedicts and maybe their sweet options like the pancakes. read more

First time at Breakfast Republic and I was pleasantly pleased! We had to wait for seating, but that's always a good sign the food is delicious and fresh. We sat in the bar to avoid waiting another 20 minutes. The staff at the bar were amazing. Josh and Dylan were fabulous and attentive. We had the breakfast burrito. It was fresh and tasty. I just tried this location of Breakfast Republic for the first time. I've been to other locations and they all have a great theme and are known for their free range eggs. I love all the decor, funny sayings and they even sell merch! At this location, they have both indoor and outdoor seating. The parking lot for this location is a little crazy because it's in a busy parking lot near a Trader Joe's and Regal movie theater. I also noticed one entire row of parking spaces is only 30 minute spots. This restaurant always has a wait. It's very popular. I came on Sunday around 11am and thankfully it was only about 30 minutes. It would be really nice to be able to make reservations or even have an online waiting list. My experience today was pretty good, but service was a little slow. There were a few times we wondered where our server was at...but I just figured it was busy. The food was good, but didn't blow me out of the water. I had the strawberry mascarpone French toast and it was pretty good, but a little mushy and the strawberrys were just ok. I did however really like the potatoes as well as my chai latte. read more
