Puesto Park Place is already one of my favorite spots in Irvine, but our server Colin genuinely took it to another level. From the moment we sat down, he was attentive, knowledgeable, and had great energy without being overbearing. He walked us through the menu, steered us toward the filet mignon taco (absolutely the right call - that crispy melted cheese with pistachio serrano salsa is unreal), and made sure we never had an empty glass. The food speaks for itself, the blue corn tortillas, the fresh guacamole, the whole vibe of the space but great service is what turns a good meal into a reason to come back. My mom and I visit Puesto at least once a month whenever I travel to Irvine for work, and it has truly become one of our favorite traditions. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious, and the service never disappoints. During our visit on 5/7/26 for an early dinner, we had such a fun and upbeat experience with Pearl. She brought so much personality and energy to our table and made the entire experience even more enjoyable. She was incredibly attentive, helpful with menu selections, and shared so much information about the menu along with interesting facts about the restaurant that no one had ever mentioned to us before. You can tell she genuinely enjoys what she does. We ordered the potato taquitos, fried chicken tacos, carnitas tacos, beans and rice, plus guacamole, salsa, and chips -- everything was amazing as always. The Best food & Space is at Puesto Park Place I had a fantastic dining experience at Puesto in Irvine at Park Place. Right across from North Italia, this establishment rocked my senses. Let me start off by saying, I made a reservation error and the staff, especially the hostess Maureen and manager went above and beyond to seat us comfortably. The establishment was spotless, and the staff was so friendly and attentive. Shout out to Ale and Joanna for being kind, generous and knowledgeable. Even when they brought us the wrong dessert, they didn't charge us, but they still insisted we try it. Im not sure if it was due to the time of day we went but the timing was impeccable for our food. Our orders came out so fast, as if they were reading our minds. I truly love when the service and the food match the beautiful atmosphere. We got the guacamole flight which came with 3 incredible flavors, but the mango with pomegranate stole the show. Then, we had the chicken al pastor taco, marinated in hibiscus which is very unique! And the surf-and-turf taco were bomb. For dessert, they first brought us pistachio tres leches cake, though the cake was great, I wasn't a fan of the zest-heavy cream; I would have preferred a strawberry topping instead. But the churro sundae... babyyyyy now that was next level. Vanilla ice cream, churro bites, pistachio crumble, a cajeta drizzle, and dark chocolate chunks. I'd come back just for that, especially in summer with a cocktail. Puesto knows how to impress, and I can't wait to return! Pro tips: * Park in the structure and don't worry, they validate. * The door is heavy like a whale but it does open. * If you have allergies to nuts, let them know as many items are incorporated with nuts. * Come on Wednesdays as they have girl dinner (tailored menu for 40 bucks per person) which sounds like a time. * Oh and make reservations( just make sure it's the right location) * Lastly, if you sit in a booth on either side the views are amazing. We went to Puesto for a team dinner on a Tuesday night. It was a taco Tuesday so tacos were half off, however it feels kinda crazy to pay the full price for the tacos. The service was great and there was tons of seating. It did feel a little loud in the place, but nothing too overwhelming for conversations. We got the guac and elote. The elote was pretty good and on par for what you'd expect. The guac tasted like there was a lot of lime in it (this is a pro for me since I love lime). I got the quesabirria taco and was thrown off that it wasn't the typical goat meat and didn't have any consume to compliment it. I also thought it was an interesting twist that the cheese was fried around the meat. It wasn't bad, but again I only felt fine paying for the tacos since it was half off. I don't think people come here for authentic Mexican food, more so for the vibes and maybe drinks... not a bad experience but would go somewhere else if I'm looking for more bang for my buck. read more

Went out for at night with Coworkers to catch up. This place specializes in tacos but not your authentic kind that you find from food trucks. They are mainly dressed up with sauces and small portions with high prices. The filet mignon and birria tacos were rather good but not amazing. Each were missing many of the ingredients you'd find at a legit restaurant. Service was decent and the waiter was very nice. The area and decor was modern and great for a date night. We stumbled upon this place while in the area looking for dinner. The restaurant has that fancier dinner vibe. It was a weekend night, but there was no wait. We were seated properly and greeted warmly by our server. She offered us water and chip and salsa to start. We got the chicken bowl and the beef enchilada. The food was good but they were on the saltier side for my liking. Service was amazing, our server checked in on multiple times and make sure we got everything we needed. I am a regular of Puesto at the SD restaurants. I visited the Irvine location on a business trip. The ambiance is great there. Very electric w a great vibe. Service was good. The service staff works very hard. U fortunately, ALL of our Heroe Tacos where not a good as normal. Its a Surf and Turf taco. The Filet was overcooked and dry in each of our tacos. I brought some guest new to Puesto and I had hyped up the Heroe, which is my ultimate taco! At the price point of each of these tacos, a definite disappointment! One guest loved the mushroom taco and another very much enjoyed the tamarindo shrimp taco. This is a very unique shrimp taco. I also had a chicken al pastor which was great as always. The chicken shredded in al pastor sauce wrapped in crispy cheese w pineapple on top! This taco has been a regular for a reason!! The chips and salsa are always great. Light and crispy tortilla chips with a unique salsa!! I always eat too many. Although our Heroe tacos where overcooked, I do recommend Puesto to anyone who want elevated fusion tacos! Got the guacamole sampler so we could try all 3: Classic guacamole (4/5) - best out of all of them but still rather bland and needed more salt Puesto perfect (3/5) - I thought there would be shaving/shredded/grated parm mixed in but it was big chunks of parmesan...why? It just didn't mix well and sat on top like an after thought. Nogada (2/5) - What is happening in this dish? Why is my guacamole sweet and crunchy? The flavors and textures are just all wrong. I got my tacos substituing lettuce for tortillas (Oh sue me I don't care for tortillas unless they're fried and cut into triangles). Mushroom taco (4/5) - Very tasty but a little watery, very cheesy and a little too salty actually so the blander guacamoles helped balance it out. Rajas taco (4/5) - also really good but the piece of nopales (cactus) was so small and it was mostly just cheese. First visit today, it was my birthday. The restaurant has a fun atmosphere and if you sit next to the windows near the kitchen you can see the inside kitchen activity! Kinda unique. All of our food was prepared well and delicious! You could taste the thoughtful care in all the food. The menu has slimmed down and they don't offer a large selection just one page has the food available and the other side is drinks. So if you are looking for a large variety this might not be the spot. We ended up getting 3 tacos, two bowls, guacamole and civeche. It was all delicious. There is a 4% charge for the staff included in your bill just be aware. It was a good experience and they helped me create a memorable birthday. read more

We've been to a sister restaurant of this place in Anaheim and it was great. We love the innovative menu. But this location was just okay. If they seat you under the glass area, it's like a magnifying glass and you're gonna sweat and we came on a warm day. Also the water they serve is room temp and one of our glasses had a fly in it. Super pricey for what it is, like $13-$17 per taco. They validate parking to the structure in the rear. Wouldn't come back due to uncomfortable conditions inside. read more

I come here frequently for business lunches. Very accommodating as far as hosting large groups and having a good selection. Noise level allows for having conversations as well. Started with a couple starters. One being their special guac rhat had nuts and I think cranberries. It wasn't bad but I prefer the original. I typically get the tacos but decided to go with a bowl this time around. The Short Rib Birria was pretty awesome. Love the tenderness of the short rib. The fresh guac was a nice touch and cheese were a nice touch. You can definitely taste the freshness of the ingredients. Portion size was great. I came starving and left full. I used to go to the Puesto location in Huntington Beach when it was there often. The tacos here were bigger than I remember. The filet mignon tacos were delicious! Packed a lot of meat in them. A group of 10 of us arrived here for Cinco de Mayo and we were able to get a great area for all of us. The vibe is very fun and I love the wood work with all of the bright colors as well. We knew it would be busy, but the server was very attentive and even apologetic when she thought we were waiting too long for our drinks. We didn't think it was that bad, especially for a busy night. We knew what we were getting into. The food came out relatively quickly and we all got our dishes within minutes of each other. We got a bunch of tacos and they were next level. Our favorite was the ribeye, which is a newer item. We also really liked the carnitas and filet mignon. All the others were delicious too, it's just that these 3 were our favorites. Hubby picked this restaurant to try during our LA trip. We rolled in around 11:30 AM on a Monday for our first meal of the day. I came here for a taco Tuesday dinner with the girls. Pro tip: park in the parking structure across the street to avoid the absolute chaos in the paved parking lot. They validate parking here. We were seated by the kitchen windows in an enclosed table. It felt kind of stuffy and claustrophobic in my opinion. Our server was Kevin and he was friendly enough with prompt service and follow-up. We got the guacamole sampler (I did love the classic guacamole and the nogada guacamole). The watermelon margarita could have used more tequila in my opinion but the presentation was lovely! I had the lobster tacos, the new grilled shrimp tacos and the chicken tinga tacos. All had good flavor and quality was consistent with what I've had in the past. My new favorite is the grilled shrimp tacos. The shrimp is light and juicy! We even saw Alexander on the way out and he remembered us. This review is for my experience with their special events. My husband and I hosted a reception style private event for around 40 people. I recommend this style for people that want a type of event where guests can mix and mingle. I booked the location around 6 months in advance. The event sales manager, Nicole, was very professional and communicated with us throughout the entire planning process. Our server during the actual event was a dream to work with. He was awesome! The event went better than we could have imagined. We rented out the Patio Del Norte section and it was perfect. There were 3 small fire pits in the middle. It was separated from the rest of the restaurant so it felt very intimate. We were also next to the bar so our party had exclusive access to half of it. All our guests complimented how smoothly the event went. We got to create our own menus prior to the event. Everyone kept saying how amazing the food and drinks were. The appetizers were on a table and the servers walked around with trays passing out food all throughout the night. Timing of everything was perfect. I came here after work with some friends to enjoy some tacos and drinks. This restaurant is located across from a very busy parking lot so make sure you plan ahead. The restaurant itself is pretty large, good for big groups with a somewhat lively atmosphere. Chips and salsa come with the table which is always a plus. I ordered an IPA (forgot which) from the bar, which was pretty good. From the menu, I ordered the filet mignon and short rib birria tacos. Both had pretty good flavor with a pretty generous portion of meat inside. I'll have to come back and try their other tacos, but overall it's a good place to have a drink and some tacos with friends. read more

Stopped in for a light lunch with friends since it was attached to the hotel they were staying at. Quick walk through the hotel, and we found ourselves in this cute restaurant. It wasn't too busy at lunch and the menu had so many options available. I ordered a margarita mocktail and steak taco with rice and beans. These were so good! The steak was cooked tender, I was caught off guard by the spicy kick from the veggies in the taco but it was so good! The mocktail tasted every bit like the alcoholic version. Service was excellent!
