    Hummus
    Tammy L.

We came here recently for a client lunch and I honestly couldn't decide what to order - everything sounded so good. We ended up starting with the hummus. It was delicious and VERY garlicky, almost reminiscent of toum. The 3 of us ate it all up! For my entree, I ordered the Yucatan pulled pork on tamal. I love tamales so my biggest fear is a dry one but this one was delicious. The pulled pork went perfectly on top, I wished there was more of it! The place is tiny with just a couple tables inside so we got ourselves a nice outside table. The server checked in on us to make sure we weren't missing anything. Unfortunately, we forced him to come back a few extra times because we were busy catching up and hadn't look at the menu. Nevertheless he was very nice and understanding which we totally appreciated. Definitely some place I hope to come back to again with my husband. Check it out!

Another wonderful visit at this adorable restaurant. This time we had the pleasure of Robert serving us, and from start to finish he made sure we were well taken care of. We've been coming here for quite some time now, and the consistency of the service is simply unmatched. They may be a small space, but the love and passion they pour into what they do reflects not only in the food, but in how they treat every single person who walks through their doors. Robert really owned the floor, warm, attentive, and so knowledgeable, especially when it came to wine. My boyfriend knows quite a bit about wine and he was genuinely impressed by the depth and passion Robert shared. It's rare to find that kind of hospitality paired with real expertise. What we ordered: Spanish Octopus Ceviche Tostada - This is a must every time we come. No words. Just order it and thank me later. Ratatouille Chile Relleno - Absolutely loaded and HUGE. I had maybe three bites and had to box it. Still excellent the next day! Yucatan Style Pork on Banana Leaf Black Bean Tamal - Not my order but my friend really enjoyed it. Lamb Shank Special - My boyfriend's dish and he loved it. He did say it would've been even better with guacamole and tortillas, but still a standout. Chimichurri & Artichoke Hummus - Courtesy of Robert, and we're still talking about it. So, so good. Flan - The perfect dessert. Not overly sweet, just silky, light, and the ideal finish to the meal. Another unforgettable visit. We even told Robert to keep us in the loop for their next food + wine pairing event in December! If you want food made with heart, flavors that make you pause, and service that genuinely makes you feel welcomed, please come here. Consistently one of our favorites!

The place is unique with character. Various decor on the wall, a bar, and a DJ set up. It's a bit cramped inside, but adequate. They also have a good size covered patio for seating. We visited on a Sunday morning for breakfast. It wasn't packed at all. Service was decent although our server was abrupt and not as friendly with our group as he was with the "regulars" he was attending to, he was professional. I say regulars because the few patrons that walked in and greeted with smiles and a friendly, how have you been was not the same greeting we received. The food was good, a bit overpriced for the portion size but I understand everything has increased. The menu selections for breakfast were slim but adequate. Good selections for spirits.

Came here on a Thursday night and the place was packed. There's ample parking, bar seating, small tables inside and an outdoor patio with larger tables. We ordered the pork belly tacos and the breakfast burrito. They made a cheese quesadilla with fries for our daughter. Food was excellent, service was friendly and ambiance was cute! Can't wait to go back and try other things... though the pork belly tacos were SO delicious, I don't think we can return and not order those!

Alejandro, 1 of the 3 muchachos, was our server. He recommended a wine to pair with our food. It was a great choice. He was informative, attentive, and very friendly. We sat on the shaded patio and ordered chilaquiles, a breakfast burrito, and eggs Benedict. All the dishes were inventive and delicious. The ambiance was chill. Understated elegance in a casual setting. We could not figure out why there weren't more diners in the restaurant. If you're in the neighborhood, please give this restaurant a try.

Great spot for brunch!! I'd like to come when they have live music too!! Service was top tier!! 10/10!! The food was great too! Especially the onion rings! Very savory and crispy!! I got the BLTA, that was a 10/10. My boyfriend got the huevos rancheros and he liked it all, just the chorizo was a little too spicy for him. I wanted something nonalcoholic so I was offered a lemonade, I usually am very picky because I do not like the fountain lemonade but our server told me it was freshly squeezed. I tried it and loved it! I had to get another one to go!! I highly recommend this spot!!!

Amazing spot! We came for a quick date to celebrate a delayed Valentine's Day and it was such a wonderful experience. Parking was abundant and we had a private restaurant on a Friday morning at 11am. The decor was whimsical and fun, felt like we were on vacation! The family owned service was great- they all had very honest recommendations and it was 3 brothers and their mom in the kitchen. I loved the family feel of it all! So now the food: it was vibrant and unique. Each dish was stronger than the next. We started with a complimentary hummus with chimichurri and it may have been the best hummus I've ever had. We shared a soup (no name because mama made it as a special for the week). It was hearty, warm and packed with flavors of meat and vegetables. Then we had chilaquiles- bean were excellent. The vanilla latte was A+ also. We ended with the churros - which honestly was a miss for us. We will come back for other options later! I've already shared this spot with my friends and look forward to returning many times!

Tres Muchachos Wine Bar & Kitchen is a hidden gem on 17th St featuring mouth watering tapas and wine tasting in a cozy, hip and eclectic atmosphere. Small and family owned, it features unique and bold Mexican and Spanish tapas, a great variety of wines to choose from, and absolutely outstanding service. The Tres Veggie Tempura is unlike anything I've ever tried. Crispy zucchini with summer squash, eggplant and queso cotija was surprisingly good. Pairing it with a Schlumburger Brut sparkling wine from Austria was perfect. The Spanish Octopus Ceviche Tostada paired with a French Leoubre Rose was delightful. Then we had Yucatán Style Pork Tacos marinated in achiote and yellow manzana peppers, paired with a Lambrusco...fantastic. But nothing prepared me for the delectable Braised Denver Steak marinated in red wine! Reminiscent of a tender slow cooked short rib, this meat was complete with a creamy saffron risotto that transports you straight to Spain. The portion is less tapas and more main course so pace yourself accordingly . We finished dinner with a Belgian Chocolate Mousse with Berry Coulis that capped a beautiful evening, with a DJ spinning Santana classics in the background. Perfect evening all around. Great for date night too. Definitely a must try!

This review is long overdue. I first visited because of seeing they offered breakfast all day. Showing up on a Friday night, we were a little overwhelmed, but the server was so down to earth, informative, and inviting, we settled in. We loved the quality of the food, the service, and the background of how the restaurant began so much, we returned for a birthday dinner, which did not disappoint! Thank you so much for taking care of us! We can't wait to return and try the specials of the day! Oh I have to mention, that was some of the best hummus, and thee absolute flan, I've ever had in my entire life. Like flourless chocolate cake flan, and I don't even usually like flan lol

Stopped by here during my lunch at work. It's a quaint sports bar type mexican restaurant with seating both indoors and outdoors. The paella was delish here as well as the cerviche and yucatan style pork! Every dish was packed with so many different flavors! The environment was also both cozy and lively.. the server was also very attentive and personable. I had a great experience here. :) parking is a bit difficult but it's worth the struggle to dine here.

One word: Unreal!!! First, this is kinda a hidden gem. Although, we had seen it several times before but just figured it was a regular mexican restaurant and nothing special. Well, how wrong were we? This is not just a restaurant, but also a wine bar with an extensive list; of course I had to partake! I had a glass of goodness. Hubby had 2 beers and sis had a sparkling water. As for food; it was not what we expected from a restaurant called Tres Muchachos where I thought I'd have the typical, greeted with chips, salsa and a menu of taco, enchilada, rice and bean combos. Nope! This is carefully, curated gourmet menu. I opted for the crab stuffed squash blossoms. I had never heard of the before. They were delicious; a shareable starter, but I ate them all! And I had the mini tostadas. Yum! Hubs had the streak and chorizo tacos which oddly enough, come with a side of fries, but wow, sooooo yummy! Sis got a combo of a steak taco and a pork belly taco, also with the side of fries. Again, soooo good! We were full, but not stuffed. The service was fantastic. Ambience: I would have felt equally comfortable in a cocktail dress as I was in my t-shirt and jeans. You can dress up or dress down. I wouldn't say tank top and flip flops; but certainly you can "dress" for a nice occasion or merely come after or (or Pilates) like I did! Price: a tad pricey; but worth it. Average price per dish was $35. Price with 20ish% tip for 3 people was $195. Keep in mind, hubby had 2 beers and my glass of wine was $18. And tax. So, there you have it. 10 outta 10. Go!

Had a wonderful experience here and will be back! Food and drink were excellent (5/5). The ceviche was delicious and fresh, and it nicely contrasted the fish and chips my friend and I ordered. Good sizable portions. Small but doable selection for draft beers, wine is definitely the pick here. Exceptional service (5/5). Friendly and attentive staff who were keen to help me find a drink to enjoy the rest of the evening, and they accommodated the fact that my friend and I were planning to share the main dish and split it into two plates for us before serving. Small, hip, intimate venue (4.5/5). Low-lit and with outdoor seating and open kitchen. I enjoyed the live DJ on a Saturday evening and the bar seating. I had no issue, but I can anticipate overall volume between the music and kitchen to be something others may have issue with if going for something more intimate.

Is it possible to order the fish grilled or is it always battered and fried? Thanks!

Yes both ways but gotta say the battered was a step above!

Do they participate in Taco Tuesday?

How much is a slice of the rainbow cake? Is a whole cake available for purchase as well? If yes, how much and what's the serving size?

I don't know prices but we bought a chocolate cake for grandma birthday it was amazing! Served about 10

This review is for Jonathan Garcia's menu. Kushi oysters were served with a lime mignonette already in the oyster shell. Oysters tasted fresh and good quality. The ribeye vampiro was served on a corn tortilla, with a sheet of cheese, and balanced salsa. I was expecting nice thick chunks of ribeye, but it was a thin crispy slice. I enjoyed the dish, but I was hoping for more. I tried my friend's pork belly taco and it's delicious. The fattiness was decadent. I wish I ordered one for myself. In addition, as a wine bar I would expect a wider variety of wines. They are knowledgeable about the 5 wines on the menu. It's ironic facing a wall of wines, but only able to sip on 5 varietals and some spritz options. However, the desserts were delicious and I recommend saving room for both of them. Unfortunately, I would not return here. The customer service was attentive, but kitchen is slow. If you do decide to come here, then I suggest you practice patience or come here on a date with someone you really like. Also, check their IG for an updated menu, since it probably changes often.

The parking lot situation can be confusing but thankfully there is ample parking right across the street. Semi Tropic wines is located on an unassuming street but is very beautiful and cool inside. They also have a spacious patio for outdoor seating. I had a sparking wine that was juicy, slightly sweet, and refreshing. There were limited wines options this night but I think that's partly because the menu was "curated." Lots of non-alcoholic options which was a pleasant surprise. Menu is on the pricier side. This night we came because they were hosting the food pop up "Three Pigs" which offered a variety of yakitori skewers. We ordered one of everything and my favorites were the beef, chicken thigh, and cucumber salad. I'd love to come back and try Semi Tropic's house menu, but if they keep up a steady rotation of cool pop ups like this I think that would be an amazing idea too! I'm looking forward to their future events. We arrived early in the night (about 5:30pm) so there weren't many people. By the time we left closer to 7pm. the line to order at the bar was considerably longer and the place was packed. They host live jazz Thursdays and Fridays which I would definitely come back to enjoy for longer! Semi Tropic Wines is a neat place that would be fun for a first date, or a great place to begin your night out (if you're not worried about price). Cheers!

Well, let's fix that right now because this place should be a must-see destination when you are in Orange county. I'm not kidding, this place is an adult Disneyland! The moment you walk in the door it is a visual sensory overload. To the left isn't a complete cigar shop with some of the most elusive and amazing brands. It is definitely a must-see when you go in. The humidor is stocked to the gills, and they have every accessory you could possibly want. As you keep walking, to your left, they have an amazing gourmet chocolate section that is second to none. One of my favorite places to go and just wander around like a kid in a candy store... Literally. You have to go downstairs where the wine selection is. I'm not kidding you, it is like a half a city block long broken down into country, region, varietal, and tight. There are so many bottles to choose from. You can get anything from a $10 bottle up to a $17,000 bottle of wine If you are a bourbon, Scotch, or whiskey fan, you have to check out the selection that they have. They have amazing deals, they work with the distillers to have a great selection of high-end alcohol. Speaking of high-end, behind the glass obviously is the really high-end stuff like pappy, Van Winkle, whistle, pig and many others to choose from. Are they pricey? Yes they are. Are they hard to find, yes they are. Can I afford them? Absolutely not. But they are fun to look at like paintings in a museum. Here's the secret ticket for those of you going in at the back of the bourbon section, right next to the walk-in beer cooler, they have a discount rack where you can pick up bottles for seriously 90% hot. Hot it is definitely worth a look because sometimes you will find amazing deals on stuff that you never thought you could afford. Speaking of beer, you can buy kegs six packs, individual cans of just about any beer you can think of... And even some you did not know existed. It is definitely worth your while to go there and hang out for an hour. I can't end this review before bragging on the staff. Super nice, super helpful, willing to make suggestions, and just making your visit. Fun is the cornerstone of the experience. Super great people kind of like cheers, where they remember your name. Bottom line? You would be doing a disservice if you did not go check this place out. Highly recommended and Dan Leadbetter approved!

Now using the different oils to flavor or accent the food is next level. They do popcorn with olive oil instead of butter and it's amazing. My favorite is jalapeño oil for popcorn with a little kick. We've also done some of their wine and cheese tastings. Discovered so many great new wines and that comes from a beer drinker. They are full of knowledge for the beer, wine and olive oils that you can't miss finding something that hits the spot. Highly recommended.

First of all, people underage barely drink wine, let alone know what orange/skin contact wine is. Second of all, I'll show it obviously. Anyways, we came back 2 days later because we really wanted to try this place on our way back home. The owner's daughter was working, and SHE WAS SO SWEET. One of the best customer service experiences. We got some olive oil samples (lemon & basil) & it was so good w/our bread, we ended up buying the olive oil 5 piece sampler pack. Never been more into olive oil than now. That basil was extremely tasty. Also had my orange wine (amazing flavor + so crisp), plus a drink consisting of sparkling wine w/pear or peach balsamic vinegar???? Surprisingly SO GOOD. She told us there's a location in La Jolla and we live in San Diego, so we may become regulars there!! Thanks for the amazing Valentine's Day experience.

What was THE most memorable was the fact that a nice employee brought a warmer lamp for us w/o us even asking! It was raining very lightly so it was kind of chilly and he noticed that we kind of need the warmer, so he brought it to our table! That was so nice and kind! Thank you to whoever his name was! The wait was extremely long, and we eventually had to ask for our food to be packed to-go and leave without being able to enjoy the meal at the restaurant. Unfortunately, the experience didn't improve. When I finally ate in my car, I found eggshells still in my food, which was very disappointing. The servers were kind and polite, but overall the experience was poor due to slow service and lack of attention to food quality. Management should really work on time management and quality control. If you're planning to dine here, be prepared to wait at least 20-30 minutes for your order.

The expanded space creates such a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. This time around, I had the salmon and my partner ordered the cioppino--both were absolutely exquisite. You can really tell the care and quality that goes into every dish. Service was just as impressive. Mia, our server, was cordial, attentive, and made us feel well taken care of throughout the meal. The hostess was also welcoming and set the tone right from the start. It's great to see a place I've loved continue to grow and improve without losing what made it special in the first place. Highly recommend!

Also, he was extremely rude to my father when he was trying to pay via InKind. He claimed that they were not using InKind anymore and couldn't take our InKind payment, even though they were still on the app. The reason why we went here was to use our InKind benefits, which were available here according to InKind. He then claimed that it was my father's responsibility to contact InKind about this issue and that it was our problem??? No accountability at all from the manager. Grow up. The food is pretty good. Our waitress was also great. But there are major issues besides that.
