They have WHITE SPANISH ANCHOVY bruschetta. Just like the kind in Spain. It was layered with diced tomatoes, olive oil and herbs. So yummy! We had the muchachos salad with barramundi and the shrimp tacos. The barramundi was huge! Spiced with savory coating and grilled. Huge side salad with a citrus dressing. Delicious! The 2 tacos had 16/20 size shrimp, 4 each taco with a mound of guacamole and cojito cheese placed inside a blue corn tortilla. Mixed green salad on the side. My favorite would have to be the barramundi fish. It was so flavorful and tender. I can definitely taste the quality in the food. Excellent service. Very friendly. We came here recently for a client lunch and I honestly couldn't decide what to order - everything sounded so good. We ended up starting with the hummus. It was delicious and VERY garlicky, almost reminiscent of toum. The 3 of us ate it all up! For my entree, I ordered the Yucatan pulled pork on tamal. I love tamales so my biggest fear is a dry one but this one was delicious. The pulled pork went perfectly on top, I wished there was more of it! The place is tiny with just a couple tables inside so we got ourselves a nice outside table. The server checked in on us to make sure we weren't missing anything. Unfortunately, we forced him to come back a few extra times because we were busy catching up and hadn't look at the menu. Nevertheless he was very nice and understanding which we totally appreciated. The place is unique with character. Various decor on the wall, a bar, and a DJ set up. It's a bit cramped inside, but adequate. They also have a good size covered patio for seating. We visited on a Sunday morning for breakfast. It wasn't packed at all. Service was decent although our server was abrupt and not as friendly with our group as he was with the "regulars" he was attending to, he was professional. I say regulars because the few patrons that walked in and greeted with smiles and a friendly, how have you been was not the same greeting we received. Amazing spot! We came for a quick date to celebrate a delayed Valentine's Day and it was such a wonderful experience. Parking was abundant and we had a private restaurant on a Friday morning at 11am. The decor was whimsical and fun, felt like we were on vacation! The family owned service was great- they all had very honest recommendations and it was 3 brothers and their mom in the kitchen. I loved the family feel of it all! So now the food: it was vibrant and unique. Each dish was stronger than the next. We started with a complimentary hummus with chimichurri and it may have been the best hummus I've ever had. We shared a soup (no name because mama made it as a special for the week). I was treated yesterday evening to a wonderful culinary experience that I did not expect from what appeared to be a strip ball restaurant. The owner of the managers staff were incredibly welcoming and the food that they served how they plated it, and the deliciousness of every morsel has gotten me so excited that I want to come back. Yes, they have a great selection of wines, but not the wines that you'll find in a fancy steakhouse, but truly delicious blends in unique non-Napa Valley wines everything right down to their fantastic display of desserts, which included a cheesecake Lambay, tiramisu and churros with an amazing sauce and ice cream, just blew me away! The Tres Veggie Tempura is unlike anything I've ever tried. Crispy zucchini with summer squash, eggplant and queso cotija was surprisingly good. Pairing it with a Schlumburger Brut sparkling wine from Austria was perfect. The Spanish Octopus Ceviche Tostada paired with a French Leoubre Rose was delightful. Then we had Yucatán Style Pork Tacos marinated in achiote and yellow manzana peppers, paired with a Lambrusco...fantastic. But nothing prepared me for the delectable Braised Denver Steak marinated in red wine! Reminiscent of a tender slow cooked short rib, this meat was complete with a creamy saffron risotto that transports you straight to Spain. The portion is less tapas and more main course so pace yourself accordingly . Showing up on a Friday night, we were a little overwhelmed, but the server was so down to earth, informative, and inviting, we settled in. We loved the quality of the food, the service, and the background of how the restaurant began so much, we returned for a birthday dinner, which did not disappoint! Stopped by here during my lunch at work. It's a quaint sports bar type mexican restaurant with seating both indoors and outdoors. The paella was delish here as well as the cerviche and yucatan style pork! Every dish was packed with so many different flavors! Sis got a combo of a steak taco and a pork belly taco, also with the side of fries. Again, soooo good! We were full, but not stuffed. The service was fantastic. Ambience: I would have felt equally comfortable in a cocktail dress as I was in my t-shirt and jeans. You can dress up or dress down. I wouldn't say tank top and flip flops; but certainly you can "dress" for a nice occasion or merely come after or (or Pilates) like I did! Price: a tad pricey; but worth it. My friend had her birthday brunch here on 6/23. I had briefly looked at the menu & reviews of this location before eating here & it looked promising. They are located in a strip mall area on 17th, in the same center as Shake Shack. The restaurant is teeny tiny. The outdoor area where we all sat accommodated our party of 14. It is the beginning of summer & even in Costa Mesa it was about 80 degrees outside. Even though the outdoor area is shaded, it would have been nice to have some outdoor fans to circulate some air. The menu has a variety of items to choose from, lot of brunch items as well as seafood. Their beverage menu was extremely disappointing, they had a variety of beer & wine but maybe 4 cocktails. It would have been nice for even a basic margarita? My husband got the breakfast burrito & I got the pork belly tacos. For the price of the dishes I really was expecting quality, flavorful & a presentable dish. The food was mid at best. The fries were cold & the pork belly was extremely greasy. When we went to pay inside the heat was unbearable. Like I said, it's a small space, so the kitchen is adding heat to the restaurant. I don't know how anyone would be able to sit inside comfortably to eat. I think this place is too casual for the type of menu they have. I was totally expecting elevated dining & the 4.8 Yelp score is deceiving. On the plus side the music they had playing outside was a 10/10. Don't let the name fool you into thinking this is just a regular Mexican restaurant. It's actually a fancy bar restaurant with great food. I love the ambience, dimly lit with trendy decor. I could picture it as a great place for a first date. The staff are extremely friendly and inviting. I got the fish and chips with special request beer batter instead of the default panko crust. It was pretty good. Three large pieces of fish with a nice thin coating. The fries seem fresh cut. They have a good selection of craft beers on tap. I liked the North Coast Laguna Baja beer. Cute small place in a small center. We dined on the patio for Sunday Brunch. This was our first time here. First, I'll say the service was great. The servers were all kind and explained the menu well. My son had the steak and eggs. He ordered it medium rare. It came out more raise so he asked them to flash it then it came back perfect. He said the chimichurri sauce was flavorful. The eggs had a nice fry to the edges while the sunnyside up yolks were still runny. I had the pochetta sandwich. Very fresh and juicy while still having that crispiness which you'd expect from porchetta. The home made French fries and I think home made ketchup were equally as good. We ordered the 1) charbroiled fish burrito 2) the charbroiled fish taco and chicken enchilada meal and 3) guacamole and chips from Tres Muchachos. We were impressed with the quality of the food and although their prices were a bit higher than some of their competitors in our neighborhood, the quality and taste of the food made it worthwhile. The charbroiled fish burrito was $12.60. It was pretty tasty and even though the white fish didn't have a strong flavor, it was moist and not 'fishy'. We added beans and rice in the burrito which was complimentary and definitely made the burrito more flavorful. The charbroiled fish taco and enchilada was delicious as well. It came with rice and beans on the side as well for $13.25. There was a pretty big piece of fish in the taco along with some cabbage. The enchilada with green sauce was good, but the chicken bits were slightly chewy and cut in pieces rather than the usual shredded chicken style. The guacamole and chips were $10. The chips were crispy and the guacamole had a nice creamy texture. The guacamole was pretty tasty, but slightly on the blander side.
