Ambiance is quaint. Service was good and not over bearing. We had Hannah. Food is not too shabby. Nothing mind blowing but certainly does feel clean and didn't destroy our guts afterwards and we are thankful for that. Definitely would try other menu items in the future. Seems like a good little local spot. You too should give it a try. Parking is weird with free valet. We parked on the street and just walked an extra few yards.

The coffee is the best here! There's so much variety around Costa Mesa and I love finding something exceptional. I usually try to get the cold brew - it is so high quality. You can just tell by the color and texture that it's good. The ice is the best part, it's small and perfectly clear. The service is top notch! They do a really good job of maintaining high quality and getting you a drink quickly. I looked at the wines. They seemed like they were mostly from more obscure origins. I would like to stop by sometime and try something.

Nice cafe, not my favorite coffee. People inside were super friendly, but I just didn't like what I got. It sounded amazing. Coffee cola! Didn't taste as good as I had hoped. My wife got a coffee with ice cream and like that, so we were 1 for 2. Wished I could have tried some of the pastry or food items, but I wasn't hungry. Maybe next time. Btw, the drink my wife got isn't on the menu. I asked for a regular coffee with ice cream, not the affogato, which is espresso over ice cream.

Such a cute spot tucked away off of the busy road. Beautiful outdoor seating. I wish I would've taken a picture! Met a friend here for bunch and enjoyed a tasty avocado toast with bacon and a vanilla latte. Everything was super fresh and tasty. Staff was attentive and friendly. I will be coming back.

If you're looking for a small mg of caffeine and food then Milligram Coffee and Kitchen is your place to be. And no, the portion sizes are actually reasonable here. For starters, the vibes are decadent, people will look good and all nicely dressed as per OC standards. Secondly, you may have to wait on weekends but it's not *too* bad usually, at least if you're just dining with 1-2 others. Anyway, food. My fiancé and I got the prosciutto and burrata, short rib and provolone melt, and breakfast ciabatta. The prosciutto and burrata is a take on burrata anything so it's good to start off with. The short rib melt was nice and tender. The meat: juicy, the flavor: savory, the verdict: worthy. The breakfast ciabatta was pretty standard honestly. Nothing great but nothing bad either so it's a safe option if nothing else on the menu stands out to you. Gotta get your egg fix somehow right? Most seating is outdoors so expect to enjoy sunny SoCal weather that we all pay so much to live here for. So all in all, it's a cute place to enjoy good vibes and food but it's not particularly groundbreaking in terms of flavor.

Proscuitto and Burrata

Food: Milligram leans more toward fresh, pretty, and curated rather than mind‑blowing. I tried the prosciutto and burrata, and while it was genuinely delicious (bright lemon oil, herbs, beautiful presentation) I couldn't help thinking, "Yeah... I could technically make this at home." It's priced at $18, which tracks for something that tastes good but doesn't reinvent anything. The short rib and provolone melt came in next at $22, a solid, savory sandwich with braised short rib, chimichurri, caramelized onions, and provolone on a French roll. It was enjoyable and filling, though not something I'd rush back for. The breakfast ciabatta with eggs, bacon, tomato, arugula, garlic aioli was also good but fairly standard, priced at $15.50, and honestly didn't stand out much either. Overall, the food was perfectly fine, but this isn't really a "come for the food" establishment. This is a "come for the scene, stay for the sunshine and attractive people" kind of place. Price: Milligram sits in the expected Costa Mesa trendy‑café bracket; not outrageous, but definitely in the "you're paying for the lifestyle" tier. With dishes like the prosciutto and burrata at $18, the breakfast ciabatta at $15.50, and the short rib and provolone melt hitting $22, the menu reflects exactly what you'd assume for a stylish, social‑forward café in this area. You're not being ripped off, but you're not discovering steals either. Ambiance: this is where Milligram truly wins. The design is clean, bright, and intentionally modern, giving you that quiet luxury feel without being stuffy. The patio, though, is the real showstopper--sun‑drenched, lively, and filled with the exact kind of well‑dressed, effortlessly cool Costa Mesa crowd you'd expect. Sitting out there feels like participating in a soft‑focus lifestyle commercial. It's clear that people come as much for the social energy as for their food or coffee. Service: it was warm and efficient. Staff move with that polished, confident ease that makes you feel taken care of without hovering. They let you settle into the atmosphere, and everything flows smoothly, matching the relaxed‑but‑stylish vibe of the place. Parking: can be slightly tricky depending on the time of day. Milligram offers free street parking and a free parking lot, but East 17th Street gets busy fast, and the prime spots fill early. You might end up walking a bit, though nothing outrageous, just worth factoring in if you're coming during a rush.

this place is so pretty for aesthetic photos for your Instagram. But unfortunately, the kitchen was under constructor so we can only get food made on the grill outside. So we were very limited. The food is still pretty good, but not worth the price. BUT COME HERE FOR PHOTOS. you can also study here there's all of seating

First, thank you Sienna for an awesome service. I came across this spot spontaneously and I'm so glad that I did. It's in the cutest paseo shopping area, the inside is so beautifully decorated and the outside patio is so chic, lush and just romantic. We ordered a bunch of things like their latte a few different spritz, their avocado toast, their Shakshouka, their baked brie, and deconstructed lox bagel. Everything is fantastic and so well balanced. We were totally obsessed with the lox bagel and the baked Brie. If you're in the area definitely check them out.

I really wanted to love Milligram Coffee & Kitchen because the food here is actually amazing. My favorite food to order is the MG breakfast ciabatta which I order every time with my coffee. Unfortunately, the service just doesn't match up. The last time I came in, it took over 40 minutes for our food to arrive, and in that whole time our server never once checked in or updated us on what was going on. And the time prior I was told to sit anywhere I want in the patio and someone will come over to take my order, mind you this was on a Tuesday and very slow, I was sitting for over 20 mins and no server came over to even bring me water so I ended up leaving. I wish the service could be as good as the food because this place has so much potential especially the ambience. Until then, I'd recommend it if you're patient and don't mind waiting--but if you're looking for attentive service, you might be disappointed.

We came here to get some coffee drinks while in the area. Upon entering, it was a well decorated and organized cozy cafe. Loved the outdoor patio seating in the back of the place. It was an inviting little cafe with good selection of coffee drinks. The staff were friendly and although the prices were on the higher side, the drinks tasted very good. I ordered a flat white and it was tasty.

What a cute quaint vibe! The music is perfect for the nature you're encapsulated in. Ordered the butternut squash soup and an iced matcha latte with oat milk. Both were delicious! I was surprised the soup was so tasty. The vibe is perfect to be solo and read a book (like me) or hang with friends. Service was just right, not too checky and not too distant.

Breakfast Ciabatta
Laura P.

Service was too spot on- the barista and server were so sweet and ready to attend our table immediately. We got there right at 7:30am and there was no one there so we sat right away. It a darker moody vibe but a great happy atmosphere. The iced vanilla latte was good but they didn't have almond milk (???) so I had to get oat milk which I don't prefer. The strawberry match was not too sweet, had a subtle strawberry flavor, but not a lot of matcha for the price. The matcha and milk were slightly split, not well incorporated which threw me off. The ciabatta was yummy with the garlic aioli but not a lot of substance within the sandwich and that can be good or bad, however you look at it.

Tumeric

Super cute cafe and brunch spot in Costa Mesa. Ordered the turmeric latte which has become my go to order. Heard about the avocado toast so had to order it and it was very good. Chunky avocado meat with seasalt and sliced radish and cucumber topping. Really really delicious. Highly recommend it. They also had few other interesting dishes including shakshuka which I would like to try next time. They also have a wide variety of wine and spritzer. Can't wait to come back

And the food... the pork belly taco was absolutely mind-blowing. Perfectly balanced, rich without being heavy, and executed with real attention to detail. This review is for Jonathan Garcia's menu. Kushi oysters were served with a lime mignonette already in the oyster shell. Oysters tasted fresh and good quality. The ribeye vampiro was served on a corn tortilla, with a sheet of cheese, and balanced salsa. I was expecting nice thick chunks of ribeye, but it was a thin crispy slice. I enjoyed the dish, but I was hoping for more. I tried my friend's pork belly taco and it's delicious. The fattiness was decadent. I wish I ordered one for myself. In addition, as a wine bar I would expect a wider variety of wines. They are knowledgeable about the 5 wines on the menu. It's ironic facing a wall of wines, but only able to sip on 5 varietals and some spritz options. However, the desserts were delicious and I recommend saving room for both of them. Unfortunately, I would not return here. The customer service was attentive, but kitchen is slow. If you do decide to come here, then I suggest you practice patience or come here on a date with someone you really like. Also, check their IG for an updated menu, since it probably changes often.

The parking lot situation can be confusing but thankfully there is ample parking right across the street. Semi Tropic wines is located on an unassuming street but is very beautiful and cool inside. They also have a spacious patio for outdoor seating. I had a sparking wine that was juicy, slightly sweet, and refreshing. There were limited wines options this night but I think that's partly because the menu was "curated." Lots of non-alcoholic options which was a pleasant surprise. Menu is on the pricier side. This night we came because they were hosting the food pop up "Three Pigs" which offered a variety of yakitori skewers. We ordered one of everything and my favorites were the beef, chicken thigh, and cucumber salad. I'd love to come back and try Semi Tropic's house menu, but if they keep up a steady rotation of cool pop ups like this I think that would be an amazing idea too! I'm looking forward to their future events. We arrived early in the night (about 5:30pm) so there weren't many people. By the time we left closer to 7pm. the line to order at the bar was considerably longer and the place was packed. They host live jazz Thursdays and Fridays which I would definitely come back to enjoy for longer! Semi Tropic Wines is a neat place that would be fun for a first date, or a great place to begin your night out (if you're not worried about price). Cheers!

On their website, they listed charcuterie and a lot more wines, but that was not what was offered. The inside is really cute. But the outside is rundown. Well, let's fix that right now because this place should be a must-see destination when you are in Orange county. I'm not kidding, this place is an adult Disneyland! The humidor is stocked to the gills, and they have every accessory you could possibly want. As you keep walking, to your left, they have an amazing gourmet chocolate section that is second to none. One of my favorite places to go and just wander around like a kid in a candy store... Literally. You have to go downstairs where the wine selection is. Speaking of high-end, behind the glass obviously is the really high-end stuff like pappy, Van Winkle, whistle, pig and many others to choose from. Are they pricey? Yes they are. Are they hard to find, yes they are. Can I afford them? Absolutely not. But they are fun to look at like paintings in a museum. Here's the secret ticket for those of you going in at the back of the bourbon section, right next to the walk-in beer cooler, they have a discount rack where you can pick up bottles for seriously 90% hot. Hot it is definitely worth a look because sometimes you will find amazing deals on stuff that you never thought you could afford. Speaking of beer, you can buy kegs six packs, individual cans of just about any beer you can think of... And even some you did not know existed. It is definitely worth your while to go there and hang out for an hour. I can't end this review before bragging on the staff. Super nice, super helpful, willing to make suggestions, and just making your visit. Fun is the cornerstone of the experience. Super great people kind of like cheers, where they remember your name. Bottom line? You would be doing a disservice if you did not go check this place out. Highly recommended and Dan Leadbetter approved!
