Bring your own cup - $2 coffee
Timothy M.

A very beautiful roadside cafe. I came here to try the coffee and found out they have a great $2 bring your own cup edition! It's hard to not sit in the garden for a few minutes. It's really breath taking. The dense foliage dampens the nearby traffic. You still feel the buzz of the busy streets nearby including Newport Blvd. The employees are very enthusiastic about the menu. There are quite a few breakfast/lunch offerings.

genuinely the cutest little garden and cafe ever. when i saw the location, i wasn't sure why there would be a cafe there but the pictures from the garden were so fun and it was gorgeous. staff was genuinely so sweet and fun to talk to!! blueberry pancake was a 10/10 and i would absolutely come back to try more!

Super cute outdoor casual spot. You order at the cashier and then take a seat outside and they bring you your food. Cashiers were friendly. the outdoor space is lovely however it was too cramped for my comfort. I ordered the biscuit with avocado smash, and the biscuit part was amazing. However, there was barely 3 tiny slices of avocado in it and lots of flavorless egg. There's a tiny parking lot so I wouldn't bother trying, just park on the street.

Came here to breakfast and thought it was such a nice and cozy spot. The food was yummy , a bit on the pricier side , but definitely worth it! Only thing that o don't like was the limited seating but people come and go fairly quickly.

Came here on a slow Thursday afternoon, there were only 2 parties on the property when we moseyed on in. Staff that helped us out were super friendly! I'm surprised more people aren't talking about them, since they've been here since 1927! It's a little hole in the wall, garden fairy-coded. Very cute for a small brunch! We got the combo quiche (which was SO good and got me full within 5 bites) and the Balboa burrito. The pumpkin pecan sticky bun was our highlight though. It was so fluffy, yet slightly dense, but it was not too sweet at all. 10/10 recommendation for the girlies that want a sweet treat in the morning without it feelings too heavy. Seating is pretty limited, I could see it getting packed on the weekends. They have "elevated espresso" which makes this a pretty good hang out spot!

Do you want to feel like you are having a sweet treat and a cup of coffee at your Grandma's house? Crocker's Cafè is the spot. Cozy, cute and welcoming with a selection of desserts, quiche, scones and savory items to enjoy for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Coffee, delicious smoothies and Mimosas and beer! Smiling, happy service from the staff is the cherry on top. Tips: Blink and you will miss the driveway. Parking is limited in the back. Park around the corner and walk over. The counter area is small. Stand on the front porch and enjoy the garden while you wait to order.

The cutest cafe with delicious food! I don't even know how many times I've passed this place and thought "I should go there" and I finally did - it was so worth it. Theres seating inside and outside (front and back) but since it's a smaller spot - it fills up quickly but I was fortunate to find a spot in the back patio. The ambiance is everything, so peaceful. The sounds of nature and all the plants just made me feel so at peace. I honestly can't wait to go back!!

The food was so good and the outside garden was gorgeous. Dog friendly but they didn't have high chairs which made it really hard with our kids. I'd give 5 stars if it wasn't for that! The barista at the front was super nice too.

Absolutely loveee crocker's cafe! It's tucked away on 19th street across from Mother's, it almost looks hidden. They have great outdoor seating in the front and behind the house. It's quiet and cozy and the service is great. They have a big menu selection with breakfast and lunch options, along with a tasty selection of freshly made pastries and sweet treats! I usually order the Biscuits and gravy, I give it a 9/10 only because the gravy is a little liquidy. The cinnamon rolls are huge but so good. The chai is really good too!

Amazing cinnamon rolls!

I stopped by on Christmas Eve hoping to purchase a cinnamon roll. Unaware that the bakery was closed, silly me, I parked and walked up to the entrance. Noticing a car parked in front and the place being closed, I turned back to return to my car. A woman asked if I needed anything. I explained that I realized they were closed, but she asked what I had been hoping to get. When I mentioned a cinnamon roll, she informed me that she was the owner and she would grab one, and when I offered to pay she kindly declined. She returned shortly after with two cinnamon rolls, though I asked for one and wished me a Merry Christmas. Her generosity was incredibly thoughtful and truly made my day. I am so grateful! I couldn't believe I met the face behind the very place I love! I used to visit this bakery regularly when I lived in Costa Mesa, and it remains one of my favorite spots. It is a charming bakery with exceptional food. I especially love sitting in the garden--both the front and back are beautiful. From the coffee to the baked goods, everything is consistently excellent.

Best cinnamon rolls ever, HANDS DOWN! it's definitely a must, the cashier was very kind and I've been here more than couple times so the service here is welcoming and the whole setting and outdoor seating is amazing, definitely like going to the back side to relax. I also recommend the mini carrot cake! so delicious

I"ve been to Crocker's Cafe & Bakery a couple of times. Once, just for a coffee and the second time with my wife to have an avocado tuna salad and a coffee cake. The real star of a visit here is the ambiance and the staff. It's a delightful, cozy, characterful spot to have a coffee, a meal and to just chill. It's an old cottage, beautifully furnished with a warm, snug indoor area and very pleasant outdoor area. My wife and I chose indoors. The woman behind the counter who served us was very warm and welcoming. The avocado tuna salad was a large size with plenty of avocado and tuna, romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes and red onion. It was a good, robust salad. The coffee cake was a large piece and also tasted good. But it isn't the food that would draw me back: it's the character of the place, the ambiance and welcoming atmosphere.

Big menu from sandwiches, salad to beverages

Tucked in a little corner with lots of flowers and a beautiful garden like being in a fairy home! If weather permits outdoors are best to have a nice meal. Inside seating can be a bit of a squeeze still very intimate. The Avocado Tuna Salad was big and served fresh with romaine, tomato, cucumber, avocado, red onions, candied walnuts, and ranch dressing on the side. The Hello Dolly, a cookie dough topped with chocolate and grated coconut, at first bite was delicious but then it began to taste too sweet and tough to cut. Service was nice and attentive. Will definitely come back for their other dishes and coffee!

(Does anyone work anymore!? ) The longest I waited was an hour but that was 3 weeks after opening. And I can tell you, as long as you have the time it will be worth it. The overall aesthetic is coastal cowboy meets rustic modern. There is a ton of seating with a great outdoor patio. Parking in the back is pretty slim, so your best bet is street parking. You can either get lucky or park around the block, depending on the day / time. My absolute favorite coffee is the Hawaiian Cowboy. It flavor profile is a nutty tasting honey that's refreshing yet not overly sweet. You can actually taste the espresso without it being too powerful. This coffee is worth the wait. Their other drinks are also good, but this one takes the cake. They have a pretty expansive food menu as well, so it's much more than "just a coffee shop". And you can't forget about their baked goods. O M G. It's from a local bakery (sift bakery) who makes the best non basic treats around. Salty horse found its place at the top of my list in a very saturated coffee market.

At the Costa Mesa location, parking was a little tricky at first, but after circling we got lucky with a corner spot. The location itself is SO cute! It's right next to colorful barrel fountains, and on a sunny day it honestly felt like the perfect coffee outing. The line was pretty long and you are standing in direct sun, so just keep that in mind, but the service was quick and efficient once you order. Inside, it's small but really charming, with Sunny Angels hidden around and a very open, friendly vibe. My sister (who is basically a professional coffee drinker at this point ) got the matcha and said it was her favorite, which says a lot. I got the iced Spanish latte with oat milk, and it was SO good. Spanish lattes are my go-to, and this one had the perfect hint of cinnamon without being overly sweet. Even as the ice melted, it still tasted great, which is rare. The Torrance location was just as good! Parking was easier, the space is bigger, and the service was still super friendly and fast. My husband got the cold brew "Nook way" and finished it in like 10 minutes. He said it tasted like Golden Grahams cereal. Highly recommend both locations and especially the Spanish latte. The parking however, was VERY filled during this time. The line was huge for a 11:00am on a Friday morning. We were bummed that the QR code was not working on the very cute wooden signage outside the coffee shop while we were in line, which was a bummer. The Honey Oat Latte with oat milk was delicious. I am notorious for chugging my iced coffee but this was absolutely delicious. A sweet, subtle honey sweetness taste and the creamy oat milk was divine. My manager's Spanish Latte was so much better & I will be getting that next time! We bought our other coworker the Strawberry Matcha, which we did not try & we were worried after the fact because it did not look like it had strawberries in it, but she confirmed it was very tasty and tasted the strawberry! The outside seating areas in this outdoor area was very cute. Lots of fun art, the directory was creative, the CD tunnel was the coolest part! We also walked over to the breakfast burrito place as well. This seems like a nice area to come and relax and just people watch and enjoy a delicious iced latte from Nook.

Got both the hot latte with 2% milk (12 oz) and iced latte with 2% milk + house made vanilla (12 oz). The house made vanilla was good, nothing special but did not have that artificial, alcohol-y taste you sometimes get from the store bought syrups. The drinks, however, tasted more milk than espresso forward. Not my personal preference but if you like your drinks on the milkier side this is probably better suited for your tastes. The flavor of the espresso was fine but I personally would have preferred to add a min additional shot or two for a more coffee forward taste, even with just the plain latte.
