Order at the register and they give you a buzzer. Casual atmosphere, even though most customers are dressed nicely since they're coming from white collar work during their breaks. Friendly staff. I got the breakfast burrito bowl, which was delicious and super filling. Note they serve breakfast all day, but also close early - midday I think - so no dinner hours. Stopped by here for a bite before heading over to the San Juan Capistrano Mission, and I am so glad I did. I ordered their version of a breakfast burrito, which comes loaded with smoked carnitas, eggs, sweet potato, cheese, and pickled zucchini. Let me tell you, it was pretty damn good! The carnitas were incredible, super flavorful, great texture, and perfectly moist, not that typical dry stuff you get at most places. I admit I was a little skeptical about the pickled zucchini at first, but damn... it all works together perfectly. Kudos to whoever came up with this combination! I'm so happy there's a pacific pearl closer to my house! I've been going to the San Juan location for years- the food never disappoints. Pacific Pearl cafe has become one of our go-to lunch spots, even though we don't even work in this area, we enjoy everything about it, and are willing to make the effort to drive here. Starting with the service, the people who work here are fantastic, the lady who took our order is always pleasant and helpful, the sandwiches are fresh, delicious and stuffed full, very filling. We recently ordered the tuna melt and Salmon croissant sandwiches, each came with a small salad. We also got a matcha latte which was also very good. The tables and seating are clean and spacious, love the outdoor environment, there's even live music. The only challenge we've had is parking, the closest spaces are often taken, but you can usually find spaces nearby. Parking is free when validated but we had an issue last time in which the QR code didn't work, but the previous time worked fine. read more

New cafe at the business complex that offers various breakfast, wraps, Sandos, and pastries. Stopped by for late afternoon coffee, saw that they had an assortment of 12 pastries for $56. I picked 6 pastries and colleague picked the other 6. From top left to bottom right, Vegan German chocolate cake, truffles, bribery banana bread, double chocolate cookie, chai tea cake, and sweet potato tart bread. It's great they offer various gluten free and vegan options along with other food. Service was nice and friendly. It's a nice cafe with amble seating options outside. I've worked in The Met for about four years, and for the first three, there was an empty space where Pacific Pearl is now. My office and I were very excited when we heard a restaurant was moving in because it would be fun and convenient to go downstairs for lunch. The excitement continued when the restaurant dropped off samples to all the offices before opening, because the food was good. However, that excitement quickly crashed and burned after we went a few times because of the prices. $18 for sandwiches, bowls, salads, and wraps. With taxes, you can't get anything for less than $20, and the serving sizes are tiny. These prices resemble a sit-down restaurant, not a quick order-at-the-counter lunch option. Unfortunately, the cost outweighs the convenience, and everyone in my office would rather walk to lunch nearby or drive somewhere if we have time. People in other offices say the same thing. Every couple of weeks, someone in the office gives it another shot because they are in a hurry, only to be disappointed again by the price-to-serving-size ratio. The place is never busy, and we all know why. So if you need something quick, it's not a bad option. The workers are very friendly and the food is solid, so this is not a knock on them. But we are hoping they get the hint soon on the prices. read more

Chef Michael Campbell, who opened the Loft at the Montage is a cultural gem in Costa Mesa. His farm to table very 'clean food' offerings are both delicious, varied and hearty and he does phenomenal catering. Our company has used him numerous times and every single person has commented on how great and varied the food is. Pacific Pearl is open for breakfast and lunch and is located at The MET in Costa Mesa, one of the largest office campuses in Orange County where my company is headquartered. Everyone in our firm is super excited to have this incredible food right in our campus and I know that there is plentiful free validated parking for anyone Pacific Pearl bakes all their own pastries every morning fresh with an added benefit that the pastries are gluten-free and low in sugar, and they are absolutely out of this world. I brought a box home to my wife, who does not eat dessert and she sampled everything and was blown away by how good they were. From spice cake and banana bread to coffee, cakes and hibiscus sugar cookies, and date sugar brownies they are next level. Highly recommend this café and especially their corporate or special event catering. They bring all the crockery, beautiful set ups, proper utensils, and the food is always varied and fresh and perfect for investor or team meetings. Was excited to hear a new cafe was opening in this area but gave it multiple chances and each thing I've tried is not good at all. Was even given raw chicken once and was gaslit by the employee on how that's just how it looks until she took it back and they confirmed it was raw. The flavor combinations in the food is very strange and I tried the vegan German chocolate brownie and it tasted so gross. The matcha was watered down and wasn't filled to the top. The hot latte is the only thing that I can say is ok here but it's served room temperature. Would give it one star but the new employees are nice so that's the only thing worth rating. read more

Great ambiance and great coffee, I had a burrito and then best thing about that is now I am literally maxing out my water intake for the day. Super MSG or Sodium or salt, my thoughts are MSG because the only other times I drink this much water is after eating Chinese food. I will try it again and if it changes I will gladly change my review. That being said it is decent food at an overpriced ticket and only going to go there is I am in a pinch. You also get a LOT of food, which explains the price point. The green eggs and ham croissant sandwich is a perfect brunchtime option for flavor and the right amount of energy to power you through the workday without a food coma. The flavors of the burrito and burrito bowl are incredible. I love the acid balance coming from pickled zucchini, the heat from the guajillo chili salsa, the savory carnitas which is all complimented with a sweet potato. Truly amazing.
