Busy Saturday at peak brunch time, but we were greeted and seated quickly. The environment was casual-chic with a focus on chickens (eggs?), and the space was well laid out and easily navigable. The food was excellent. We had the protein omelette and the breakfast burrito. The protein omelette was strong, and the Jurassic pork (sweet and savory seasoned bacon) stole the show there. Toast and fruit was well made and fresh. The burrito was where things went to the next level. Steak AND bacon in a burrito in this economy? Unbelievable. It was so rich and heavy I almost couldn't finish it. They didn't overcompensate for a lack of meat and eggs with a bunch of potatoes. The whole burrito was well balanced in that respect. The beans were excellent, and the cherry on top was the fresh made red chile salsa. It tied the whole experience together perfectly. Finally, the coffee was excellent as well, the only caveat being that we actually got our food before our coffee (only one barista was behind the bar and she was pretty backed up). I must have had three cups during breakfast and still ordered one to go. Easily one of the highlights of the meal. The only thing keeping this from five stars was the logistics. The parking lot is tiny, with room for maybe eight cars and not much nearby as an alternative. We also waited about an hour and were told they don't take reservations. The waiting area itself is pretty limited, which made the long wait a little tougher. I'd still strongly recommend Breakfast Republic because the food was excellent. Just make sure you have some time to spare, and I probably wouldn't attempt it with a large party during a busy time. read more

I've been here a handful of times and the food is relatively consistent. Pancakes are good, the service is alright. Chilaquiles are usually my go to. I ordered them today with the $6 add on carne asada and it was disappointing. I could've gone to a taco stand, bought 3 asada tacos for $6, and the meat would've been probably 3-4 times what I got, better quality, and well seasoned. Parking is behind the restaurant and can get full by 10 am on the weekends, so plan to go earlier if you want to try a weekend brunch date. Final take. We stopped by this morning around 9:45 am - parking was tight but we found a spot, and there was a 30 minute wait so we sat on the patio and ordered our food and drinks. I ate at this location of the breakfast chain on a weekday morning. They have a parking lot behind the restaurant which has plenty of spots but I see how it can get full on weekends. I was seated right away; it wasn't very busy. My eyes quickly moved to the french toast section of the menu. I decided on the Mr. Presley (peanut butter stuffed french toast topped with bananas foster and crumbled bacon. I also ordered a hot latte. The french toast consisted of two pieces which were folded over with gobs of peanut butter inside of each. The taste of peanut butter prevailed with the bacon providing a salty balance with the sweet of the banana slices. I quite enjoyed it. When we politely explained that he had ordered the Oreo pancakes, Maria seemed visibly irritated. Rather than create an issue, I simply told her I would keep and drink the latte. Another server later brought the correct pancakes and was very kind, but Maria never came back to check on our table or see if we needed anything. The only time we saw her again was when she dropped off the bill. We genuinely enjoy this restaurant and hope this was just an off day at this location, because the food is consistently great. OK, I was fooled. I thought this was a small, independent, local breakfast bar. It turns out that Breakfast Republic is a small chain with 15 locations. They just run it like it was a neighborhood place. Besides the staff being super helpful and friendly, the decor and ambiance is so wonderfully relaxing, I felt like I was on a vacation. After getting photos of our food, I put the phone down and chatted with my wife for an hour. Back to the food.. The portion size is just right with a little extra potatoes to make sure you get full. The Crab and Crawfish Cake Benedict was marvelous. I was a little confused by the blackberry jalepeño jam on the menu description, but it turned out to be a delightful addition that added a sweet complexity to the flavor profile. Unfortunately, we came in an hour before they closed and they were all out. The Brussel sprouts and potatoes were worth the upgrade.
