This was one of the most disturbing dining experiences I've ever had, and it honestly raises serious health concerns. After already dealing with extremely poor service, long wait times, and a completely unresponsive staff, the situation escalated even further when we opened our takeout container and found a hair inside the food. This is not a minor issue--it's a basic sanitation failure. The sight of it was enough to make me physically sick. It completely killed any appetite and created a very uncomfortable situation at the table. At that point, it became clear that there are deeper problems with hygiene and quality control in this kitchen. What makes this even worse is the overall lack of accountability. There was no urgency, no proactive check-ins, and no sense that management was in control of what was happening. When a place can't maintain basic cleanliness standards while also failing on service, it becomes a serious concern for customers. Between the unacceptable behavior from staff, the disorganized service, and now a clear food safety issue, this experience crossed the line from disappointing to unacceptable. I would strongly urge management to take immediate action to address both sanitation and oversight. Until then, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Saturday around 11am: no wait, but the place was full and lively. It has a trendy, welcoming vibe whether you're coming solo, with friends, or with family. Everyone on staff was friendly, including our server. The pricing felt fair for the portion size. I'd recommend it to locals, or anyone nearby looking for a casual spot to meet a friend or coworker. The food was mediocre, but I'd return and give it another try if I was in the neighborhood and there was no wait. One suggestion for the owner: find a way to ensure the food comes out hot and ready--some items (eggs, bacon, etc.) were cold to lukewarm.

I know we have been to this place before, but it has been quite awhile... our friends wanted to try it out. One hour wait which is understandable for a popular joint on 17th Street on a Saturday. Luckily we came a bit later as the place will be VERY LOUD during breakfast and it's hard to have a conversation. Food? A lot better, the chilaquiles were very nice and with a large tortilla we were able to create a nice burrito that rivaled the one from Tacos Delta in LA. The chicken Benedict was nice for the eggs and fixings, chicken a bit dry and bread a bit tough. Awesome cake though, we're still eating the leftovers. Coffee is sumptuous and quite good for restaurant stuff. 7/10 from this coffee snob. Service was very good, prompt and personal. Pro tip? Go after 1pm if you'd want to have a conversation without yelling.

Very lively brunch spot. Vegan and non vegan options for friends and family to sit down and enjoy together. My girlfriend and I went on a Saturday noon and there was no wait. To my surprise the waitress who attended us said we were lucky to have found seats right away since on most weekends the wait time can be up to an hour. My girlfriend ordered the chilaquiles which came with a side of rice and black beans. The chilaquiles were crunchy, savory, and the right amount of spice. I ordered their vegan breakfast burrito which included vegan egg, vegan cheese, vegan sausage, potatoes and avocados with a side of rice and black beans. Overall 5/5, would definitely go back to try the rest of their menu

I ate at this location of the breakfast chain on a weekday morning. They have a parking lot behind the restaurant which has plenty of spots but I see how it can get full on weekends. I was seated right away; it wasn't very busy. My eyes quickly moved to the french toast section of the menu. I decided on the Mr. Presley (peanut butter stuffed french toast topped with bananas foster and crumbled bacon. I also ordered a hot latte. The french toast consisted of two pieces which were folded over with gobs of peanut butter inside of each. The taste of peanut butter prevailed with the bacon providing a salty balance with the sweet of the banana slices. I quite enjoyed it. The latte was very good, silky-smooth and served at an immediately drinkable temperature. Service was friendly and attentive. It has a vibe of a relaxed, neighborhood restaurant where you're treated like family.

My husband saw the place on Facebook, he is all about breakfast, me not so much. The place is adorable, clean, and they really made sure to put their logo on everything. Service was good too, I can't complaint. Unfortunately my biggest complaint is the FOOD. I wish they spend more time on the taste of their food than the decoration. My husband ordered California breakfast burrito, let's say we could make better at home. I ordered pancakes with side of spicy chicken (chicken & pancak), ok chicken pieces looked like the chicken was on a diet. I wish the pancak tasted as good as it looked, it was so dry I kept pouring syrup but it didn't help. I was really disappointed

Hubby and I decided to stop here for a breakfast date. Such a cute place, staff is friendly, food is delicious. I was craving pancakes and the bacon pancakes were the perfect mix of salty and sweet! They have a great selection of cocktails and Bloody Marys.

We were early on Saturday and came in as the first customers. This place is truly thoughtful. From the plate style, to menu, and to vibes, this place truly offers a lot to vegan people and those with different tastes. I would definitely come back to try more stuff. The waiter here is also very nice and handsome. Haha.

We decided to get breakfast to go and eat on the beach over New Years. This place was packed so to-go is a great option. Both the Cluck Burger and San Diego Benedict were SOOO good! The ingredients were fresh and the bacon was thick, sweet, and Smokey. The smash burger and onions with the house sauce was a tasty combo. Don't skip their house made ketchup, it's a bit spicy and really elevates the potatoes.

OK, I was fooled. I thought this was a small, independent, local breakfast bar. It turns out that Breakfast Republic is a small chain with 15 locations. They just run it like it was a neighborhood place. Besides the staff being super helpful and friendly, the decor and ambiance is so wonderfully relaxing, I felt like I was on a vacation. After getting photos of our food, I put the phone down and chatted with my wife for an hour. Back to the food.. The portion size is just right with a little extra potatoes to make sure you get full. The Crab and Crawfish Cake Benedict was marvelous. I was a little confused by the blackberry jalepeño jam on the menu description, but it turned out to be a delightful addition that added a sweet complexity to the flavor profile. The Shrimp & Ricotta Fritata was a full pan of food. See the photo. My wife worked on it for almost an hour and then I had to help her finish it. The service was great, the food delicious, coffee rich and smooth, the restrooms clean, and the atmosphere very relaxed. This was a perfect breakfast experience.

Had such an amazing breakfast here when my parents were in town. Well worth the wait. Amazing food that is really healthy and fresh. You can sub sautéed veggies inside of carbs and they're seasoned and cooked so beautifully. Love the egg dishes and the mimosa options! Get there early if you don't want to wait in line! Can be a bit loud and crowded, but overall great vibes. Always good service!

    OLD DRY LIMES

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was bad enough that people need to know what they're walking into. We waited 45 minutes just to get seated, and from the very start, the hostess had a completely unacceptable attitude--rude, dismissive, and honestly unprofessional. It set the tone for everything that followed. The service only got worse. I ordered a drink that came out extremely spicy--basically undrinkable--and asked for it to be fixed. Nothing happened. No follow-up, no correction, no urgency. Same situation at the table--requests were ignored and we were left sitting there wondering if anyone was actually paying attention. What's frustrating is that you can clearly see the servers are overwhelmed, so this isn't entirely on them. The real problem is management. The manager seemed completely checked out--walking around on his phone, not addressing issues, not supporting staff, and definitely not paying attention to customers. Zero leadership. Food didn't make up for any of it either. Between the long wait, poor service, and lack of accountability, the entire experience was just disappointing across the board. This place has potential if management actually stepped up and took control, but right now it feels disorganized, understaffed, and poorly run, management definitely needs to change or step up. Place looks like they really dont care, just look at their old aged limes, thats shows you the quality youll recieve at this place I won't be coming back.
