We love Kitsch Bar and have always had a good time here, which is why this was so disappointing. The bartender, Sofia, completely ruined the vibe for us. She was rude and came off really disrespectful, and at one point said things that felt degrading. It made my boyfriend so uncomfortable that he actually left and went outside just to get away from it. Instead of calming things down, she got more aggressive and tried to intimidate me and my friend into leaving. She straight up told us to go and wouldn't even let me finish my martini. I had a long week and just wanted to relax, and that moment felt so unnecessary and frustrating. We still love Kitsch Bar, but that experience with Sofia was not okay and definitely left a bad impression. Hopefully it's not something others have to deal with. read more

No food. The bartender was very nice and she let us try a few samples of the beers on tap since we couldn't decide which one to have. It's a cute little bar. Clean and nicely decorated. It was quiet enough to have conversations inside, which is nice. There was karaoke that night but nobody was singing when we were there. read more

Kitsch is one of my favorite bars in Costa Mesa. Perhaps I'm biased because I worked down the street and love the neighborhood. Depends on the day, there's either nowhere to sit or all the tables are open, I forget the name of it he cool bartender who told us how to park when we return and it was nice to have that secret info. Only taking one star off for the day I returned with a friend in the afternoon and a different bartender seemed to overcharge for the drinks. It had been years since I popped into the Kitsch bar. I decided to end my 11 month sabbatical from alcohol to do my part to support our local watering holes while everyone else is doing the whole "dry January" BS! I actually didn't know this place had been redone. I liked the old setup but I loved that we were able to sit at the bar. We got to chatting with bartenders Narissa and Britney who were legit the best bartenders I've come across in OC besides Brandi at Ren's Social House in Tustin! If you aren't sure what to order, I recommend you try their signature cocktails because they're delicious! F Brandon is there say what's up to him too! He's super cool. Went here for the first time with my friend and we had a blast. It was a Sunday night so we sang so many karaoke songs and even got a free drink for singing. Juan was our bartender and he was so funny to talk to. There was not a dull moment that night and we even got him to sing a song lol. Our drinks were good too! Stopped into this bar. It had a full parking lot but I still found a spot. The inside is clean and easy to get around. The bar is nice and the drinks are very good. The female bartender is super nice and efficient. This is more of a chill bar, kind of small and cozy, dark. Unisex single bathrooms. In the plaza with insit/the vape store, so going later benefits you more because tight parking. Surprisingly they have an open karaoke night on Sunday with a hostess. The crowd when we went chose a lot of old time classics. I think this is fit for an older crowd or couples who want a chill evening, not too rowdy, floors not sticky, and has a decent selection of drinks rather than a pregame or if you want to go out and drink with friends. They even have a happy hour at night. The bartender is talented in making drinks and this is probably one of the bars where you can build a relationship with the bartenders to experiment with your drinks. We didn't feel pressured or rushed at all. I see they already do this, but if I wanted to attract younger guests, they have a pretty good dj booth set up (maybe like a rnb night or boiler room vibes) w/ special cocktails and adding a photo booth, or partnering with a social club. I would think its quite a bookable venue too. Overall, seems like a bar for the community. read more

Environment was great. Dimly lit and a disco ball over the dance floor displaying great club rotating colors throughout the bar. Clientele was cheerful and diverse all of which proved to be having a great time. Drinks were good and prices were surprisingly low for a night out. Bartenders were friendly and quick. The five stars was difficult to give because I would have preferred a bit more variation in music but that is just a personal preference and I am old at 54 (almost 55 lol) but I did know most of the music and did a lot of couch dancing and could barely keep from getting out on the dance floor. You can dress up or down and fit in. All-in-all this new find was a positive for us. We will be back for sure! read more

It's a diamond in the rough. Juan, the bartender, draws me there. He sets a remarkable example for how to treat the clientele. He's interesting, engaging and has a gift for making exceptional cocktails! The music is diverse and eclectic, very reflective of the atmosphere. It's a unique place to chill out or dance the night away. Juan makes a ridiculously good Gin Old Fashioned! Make sure you pitch yourself up at the bar when he's there. Looking for a dive bar? Then look no further. Came here on a Saturday night around 9pm and the place had only a few tables taken up, plenty of bar space. Music was really good. 90's hip hop and R&B which is my jam so I was loving it. Sofiea was our bartender and she took great care of us. We ordered a couple of rounds and only told her what spirit we wanted and she whipped up some delicious drinks. Her drinks were a reflection of her and so she made sure we enjoyed our drinks. Pretty cool and hard to find from a bartender these days. Gave us the feel that we were regulars but it was actually our first time here! We will definitely come back. read more

Out Homegirl was djing last Thursday night and it was an absolute blast It's a quaint little place with a busy parking lot so beware but I love that they do have fortaleza. BONUS POINTS! Service was excellent. Shoutout to the bartenders for taking care of us and they have a cool little keg urinal in one of the bathrooms. Very creative! Overcharged and bullied by Juan. Ambiance and bar patrons were great all night, but service was definitely lacking. Juan also under poured every drink I ordered. 1.25 oz is not a shot guy. I didn't mention it because we were trying to have a good time, but i think someone needs to learn their counts if they aren't going to use jiggers. This was my first time at kitsch bar and my last. So much fun! Went on a Saturday when they had a DJ playing 2000's R&B and hip-hop. Make sure you have plenty of change as if you lay a $20 down it's hit and miss if they bring back change and drinks are a little pricy. But definitely would go back.
