If you know, you know! Great place to go grab a drink, especially Japanese whiskey. They have a lot to choose from too- top shelf! There is a full food menus you can try as well. Plenty of parking too. It's very dark in there so it's not a good place to conduct a work meeting and also it can be loud as well. Think bar like environment.

Had reservations for a post Valentine's day dinner and it was well worth it. The space is small, dimly lit, and has a cool sexy vibe. Music selection was also good. We had reservations at opening and were the first seated. We ordered a variety to sample their menu: Uni Unagi Chawanmushi 5/5: i dont usually care for chawanmushi but CIR's take is excellent. Silky and savory. A must order Potato Korokke 4/5: light and crispy. Perfect with the truffle dipping sauce. The curry sauce was okay. Crispy pork belly buns 4/5: comes with a generous slab of pork in each bun. Comes with 3 and each is filling. Oysters rockefeller 3/5 and raw oysters 4/5: im used to oysters rockefeller well cooked with a cheesy topping, CIRs version is more on the rare side with a crispy topping. Raw oysters were more enjoyable, toppings and sauce a better combination. Caviar cones 4/5: bite sized cones but the spicy tuna with caviar flavors are noticeable and perfect with crunchy texture of the cone. Cone could be thinner for a better balance. Hamachi crudo 3.5/5: thick slices of hamachi and appreciated the rainbow seaweed salad. However, this dish was unremarkable. Bone marrow bibimbap 5/5: yes, the price is steep for such a small dish but the flavors were rich and delectable. Banana miso cake 5/5: a marriage of banana foster and a butter cake. Perfect ending. We sampled a few of their cocktails and they were all enjoyable and left us with a good buzz. I was pleasantly surprised with CIR and highly recommend for a date night. Our server was also fantastic: gentle, informative, and attentive.

I came here for date night and was initially skeptical because of the location--but the moment you step inside, it truly doesn't feel like Fountain Valley at all. The ambiance instantly transports you somewhere between Vegas and LA, with a stylish, upscale vibe that sets the tone for the entire experience. The service was amazing--attentive, polished, and well-paced--and the food exceeded expectations across the board. We started with several appetizers: potato korokke, crab croquette, crispy pork buns, baked cheese, and tuna caviar cones. Every single dish was beautifully presented and genuinely delicious--no weak links. For entrées, we ordered the Bone Marrow Bibimbap and the bone marrow & filet, and we loved every bite. Rich, indulgent, and thoughtfully executed--these are standout dishes worth coming back for. Dessert was the highlight of the night: the banana miso cake. The presentation alone was a showstopper, and the flavors absolutely delivered. Easily my favorite part of the meal. From the ambiance to the service to the food, this place is doing it right. I will most definitely be coming back and would highly recommend Cir Lounge for a date night or elevated dining experience.

saigon sling and lychee mocktail

This luxurious dinner spot is hidden away into a plaza in Fountain Valley. You really would not expect it at all from the outside, but it looks like a Vegas lounge on the inside. To match the ambience, the prices of the food is ridiculous. It's good, but I'm not sure any of it is necessarily worth the price. Caviar Cones - Worth it! They're tiny bites of spicy tuna, topped with creme fraiche and caviar. The cone is delicate to not overpower the fish, and there is a zesty component that brightens the whole bite. Hamachi Crudo - Fine! Generous slices of yellowtail, delicious sauce, wonderful side of seaweed salad. It was good, but the quality wasn't so much more amazing than other places that it warrants the doubled price tag. Bao Buns - Boring! These are straightforward, boring bao buns with an unbalanced amount of fillings, as with any bao bun though. It's too sweet, too decadent, and could never have enough room to be balanced with enough pickled veggies. Crab Croquette - Definitely not worth it! The table agreed that these were pretty pungent, and disappointing in terms of how little crab you get.  Lobster Sashimi - So good! The presentation was beautiful and it was really good. This is definitely a splurge, but it is really good. I'm torn. If you're already here spending the money, I would recommend getting this. Bone Marrow Bibimbap - Fun, but not worth it! It's a beautiful dish, and it is very fun to be mixed tableside. It's good, but it doesn't offer enough of anything to be worth the price. Chilean Sea Bass - Not good. This was also unfortunately very pungent. It was not very moist for a white fish, and we wished the sauce was citrussier.  Saigon Sling - Yummy, pretty sweet for a cocktail. All of their cocktails ran pretty sweet for the night, even the old fashioneds we got. Coffee Flan - Underwhelming, bitter without the coffee flavor. One-note. Banana Miso Cake - Best dish of the night. Soft banana cake with a great balance of sweet and salty. CIR is a nice spot, trying to be a luxury restaurant without offering the refined food or refined ambience to take it to that justified price range. It needs tailoring in the execution of the food, of the service, and of the curation of the environment to take it from a Vegas wannabe lounge to an upscale restaurant in the OC.

The Stick Rice Xoi Xinh Review If you've ever wondered what a warm hug from a friendly Vietnamese grandma would taste like--minus the actual grandma--look no further than Xoi Xinh. I dropped by on a Friday just before noon and ordered the Xoi Cha Ca Com. At a wallet-friendly $10, the sticky rice comes perfectly chewy and the Cha ca was an amazing piece of nougat that was light and crispy on the outside and extremely flavorful/tender on the inside. From the photo, it's pretty clear this isn't a sit-down, chandelier-clinking, white-tablecloth sort of place. In fact, it's a pickup spot run by the hardworking folks from the CIR Lounge, operating daily from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., before transforming back into their evening persona when the main restaurant opens at 5 p.m. With friendly staffing and great food, this place definitely diserves my stamp of approval. If you're in the mood for something hearty without denting your lunch budget, Xoi Xinh might just stick with you (pun fully intended).

If you haven't booked a reservation here yet... you need to now!! Especially on a Friday night with amazing live music. I came here on a double date and it was the perfect romantic ambiance, dimly lit room with modern jazz vibes. Also, you can try everything on the menu when you have a party of 4! Well maybe 75% of the menu. Our waitress was amazing, attentive and checked in with us often. She gave us outstanding recommendations and we ordered them all! The food was WOW, WHOA and I can't even begin! Did you see the presentation!!? I mean... C'mon! The most fun appetizer I had was the caviar cones. Everyone was fighting for the last one! The crème fresh under the caviar, in the cone was genius! Perfect savory and creamy combo! This is the type of restaurant that makes you want to cry tears of joy, because the food is THAT good. The other stars of the show were the yuzu Chilean sea bass (perfect citrusy flakiness) and the hamachi crudo (I can eat this all day and drink the drizzle of crudo juice ). 10/10 highly recommend!!

Great food. Very fresh, very cheap omakase but the food was amazing for the price! Great service, decor was a bit outdated and scratches along the walls and chips on the plates/decor. But overall was a solid bar and would highly recommend if you want great cheap omakase. Only available Wednesdays from 6-8pm.

Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. 1. Automatic gratuity issue: We were a table of only two people, yet an automatic gratuity was added to the bill without clear notice. I personally left $50 cash tip on the table, but later found out that the restaurant also charged an additional tip to my friend's bill/credit card. This felt unfair and misleading. 2. Omakase quality: The omakase did not meet expectations at all. * Nigiri was bland * Scallops were overly sweet * Lobster tempura was salty and dry * A5 beef was extremely chewy * Clam soup had sand in it * Hand rolls were tasteless and overloaded with green onions The only items we enjoyed were the oyster uni and dessert. 3. Service: Service was cold and unwelcoming. Our server lady rarely smiled and only became friendly when dessert and the bill were asked. Water was not refilled unless we asked. 4. Presentation: The omakase - some items were served on very plain dishes with no effort in presentation. It looked unexciting, and unfortunately, the taste matched the appearance. 5. Overall: My friend mentioned that the à la carte menu tastes better, may come back to try that. But based on this experience, we will definitely not order omakase here again.

I absolutely loved everything about this place. From the moment we walked in, the ambience set the tone--warm, stylish, and inviting without feeling pretentious. The music was perfectly curated, creating a great vibe that made it easy to relax and enjoy the night. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, with every dish feeling thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. You can tell there's real care put into both the menu and the overall experience. Whether you're coming for a romantic date night or a fun girls' night out, this spot really delivers on all fronts. Our server was super friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful with recommendations, which made the experience even better. Service like that really elevates a meal and makes you want to come back. Overall, this is definitely a must-try and a place I'd happily return to again and again. Tip: They're part of Resy for those with Amex--such a nice bonus and makes booking super easy!

The layers in the Fireside Spritz. A wonderful cocktail for the holidays.

This was our first visit to CIR Lounge. What a neighborhood gem. We walked over and can't believe this is the first time we gave it a try. The place is located in a strip mall at the corner of Brookhurst and Talbert, in the Amazon Fresh shopping center. Tucked quietly into a corner of the center, the building from the outside looks very plain and once you step through the doors, we were blown away. The inside is gorgeous. Dimly, but the atmosphere is cozy with low lights, candlelight and blue lights around the bar. On this visit we were seated at the bar, and Randy and Eva or Ava were working the bar. They were so friendly and welcoming. We checked out the bar menu, asked Randy for recommendations and settled on our choices. Mr. B ordered the smoked Nightcap old fashioned, and he very much enjoyed it. I chose the Fireside Spritz with vodka, pomegranate, House made spiced grenadine, Prosecco and Blackstrap bitters. It was scrumptious and I loved the creativity. We ordered the Baked Cheese, which is truffled brie cheese, perfectly melted and topped with an apricot cherry compote and finely chopped nuts. The crackers which came with it were really good and the cheese was amazing. I appreciated that there were just enough crackers to finish the cheese off. For dinner, Mr. B chose the Ahi Uma Kara Tower. Warm rice on the bottom and neatly stacked on top were mild greens, nori, Japanese mayo, soy, sesame, avocado, edamame and topped with sushi grade ahi tuna. The dish was beautiful and he absolutely the quality of ingredients and how the flavors seamlessly melded together so each bit was perfect. I chose the vegetarian fried rice, which was seasoned very well and had edamame and a mushroom medley. The dish was expertly salted, the edamame added a nice crunch and the variety of mushrooms added a nice woodsy flavor. I loved the dish. We will absolutely go back even to just have a cocktail and an appetizer. A true gem in Fountain Valley, don't wait, go!

What a vibey spot for date night! Expect good music to just chat to. It's not somewhere you'd go to get rowdy, but more so to catch up with friends. The drinks were made perfectly. Reservations are definitely recommended seeing that it can get busy. We didn't order much food but desserts and an order of baos but let me tell you you, the baos were deelish! Nice and juicy. Reminded me of banh mi!

They offered us really great dining experience which elevated by great service as well. The staff was attentive and made sure everything flowed seamlessly throughout the evening, which was lovely. The Potato Korokke was a standout. Crispy on the outside and feels line mousse inside, and absolutely shines because of the sauces. One has as a truffle flavor, while the other carries a mild curry note that really highlight the dish; it is saucy in the best way possible and absolutely addictive. The Caviar Cones were enjoyable but didn't quite steal the spotlight. They weren't particularly memorable. For the main, we had the Yuzu Sea Bass. The citrusy sauce paired beautifully with the fish, though the dish leaned a bit greasy overall cause of the shishito peppers which slightly greasy so it took away from the experience. The Yuzu Raspberry Panna Cotta was delightfully light and just sweet enough. A clean, satisfying finish to a thoughtfully curated meal.

Crystal Cove, Blue Eyed Girl and Geisha's Kiss

I've had CIR Lounge bookmarked for a while now and glad I finally came with a couple girlfriends. Many of the appetizers are served in threes so that worked out for us! The place is a lot smaller than I thought, with maybe about 8 tables and a bar counter. Fortunately, we had reservations and it wasn't that busy at 5pm on a Sunday. They serve some sweet and fruity mocktails and cocktails as well as extensive whisky tasting flights, wine and sake. I tried the Geisha's Kiss, which consisted of Japanese gin, passion fruit, Orgeat, lemon and topped with a smoky bubble to blow out. Fun presentation! I also got the House Kaiyo flight ($32) which included 4 different distinct Kaiyo whiskeys, smooth, smoky, and bold. Hats off to the head chef, Hiroshi Morita! Everything we had was absolutely delicious! Wagyu Sliders (3 for $27) - the Wagyu beef patty was cooked perfectly at medium rare, the shishito pepper jam was subtle and the fried nori gave a crisp contrast. Caviar Cones (3 for $18) - inside the cones were spicy tuna, Yuzu Crème Fraiche topped with Sturgeon Caviar and gold flakes. Loved all the flavors and textures in these small bites. Scallop Crudo ($18) - nice, fresh pieces of scallop tasted so refreshing with the yuzu sauce, strawberries, orange and kiwi! Vegetable Fried Rice ($24) - had generous amounts of crispy edamame and flavorful maitake mushrooms. Great for sharing! Bone Marrow Bibimbap ($69) - Pricy, but there was a generous portion of Wagyu beef and fatty bone marrow! The server mixed all the ingredients in with a raw egg and the hot stone melded everything so succulently. For dessert, get the Miso Banana Cake! ($15) Toffee-Miso Banana Cake is plated with Vanilla Ice Cream and Toasted Pecan. They pour fire around the plate giving a litty presentation. Our server, Matthew, was so kind and attentive. Everything came out pretty fast. We loved the colorful bar and intimate vibe. Plenty of parking in the lot. CIR is tucked away in the corner to the right of the new pizza place so it's easy to miss. I'll definitely be back!!

This speakeasy is known for taking your cell phone and having a no photo policy. So when they didnt take our phones, we thought we were being sneaky with taking photos. Turns out on Sundays, it is their relaxed day where you are allowed to keep your phone, and they have the side door out onto PCH open. I loved this, but also hated it if I am being honest. PCH is so loud with motorcycles non stop, and it made the room very light. It didnt really feel like a speakeasy as you could enter right off the street. We entered through the hostess stand at HQ Gastropub. I had asked one of the hostesses what we needed to do and she stated she just arrived for work and I would have to ask another hostess when they came up to the stand. Bit weird, not the friendliest welcome, but the staff inside Graceland made up for that. The hostess lets them know we are there and someone comes out to take us back to the red door in the middle of the restaurant down a hall of colored barrels. Typically that is the only place you are allowed to take a photo before you hand over your phone. Back to the service. The bartender was AMAZING. She was so friendly and just amazing. Our waitress was great too, they were both helping us out. I wish I got the bartenders name, she was such a ray of sunshine and sparkle. Literally, she had a sequin top on and the sun hitting it put sparkle across the entire room. I had two glasses of chardonnay that were delicious. I also had a sip of my friends drinks and they were DELICIOUS! We did order food, and I ordered the spicy garlic edamame but never received it. I also was not charged for it, so it is what it is. The sushi nachos were good, as well as the beignets. I am not going to share the photos I took here, because I feel they want to keep it a surprise and I honor that. I would like to come back another time when the door is not open, it is darker and more private for the full speakeasy experience.

We came with reservations on Saturday night before Mother's Day. The first thing I thought when I walked in was that there was a live band playing with bad speakers because the music was so loud. But when I saw there was no band, I thought maybe their speakers were broken because the music had that scratchiness to it. Then I realized it was a DJ spinning vinyls with foreign music from the 1950's with that scratchy vintage sound on full blast (think shrill trumpets and shrill voices.) Now don't get me wrong, the music was wonderful and very unique ( again, a lot of foreign songs) with a few I even knew...my husband and I loved most of the songs that were played. HOWEVER not when it's so loud that we can't even hear our own thoughts! I felt annoyed within the first 5 minutes of being seated when my family and I had to keep repeating ourselves, and my husband even went to check the rest of the place to see if it was any quieter anywhere else, but it was blaring music everywhere. I ended up ordering for my whole table of 8 people because we couldn't even hear each other over the music to make suggestions on what to order. My adult kids (all in their 20's) kept apologizing for recommending this place for my mother's day dinner. But oh my, the food was delicious---practically everything I ordered was amazing! OMG the hangar steak skewers, pork belly skewers, iberico pork secreto steak, little gem salad, and their bread with goatmilk -butter were my faves! We also had the short ribs and the pork fried rice with prawns but they were mid...nothing to write home about. This would've been a great place to come have a drink at the bar for happy hour or even late at night on a weekend since they open until 1am on thursday, friday, saturday... but don't come for dinner unless you bring earplugs and learn sign language or know how to read lips because there will be no conversations over dinner unless it's just to the person sitting next to you. Even so, I noticed the young couple next to us looking very annoyed-- they got up and left after quickly finishing up their one cocktail while the speakers blared out an instrumental piece of a girl moaning the whole time until she climaxed. Heck---I'll have whatever SHE'S having lol So plz keep the music down several notches until after 10pm, and let the rest of us enjoy our dinner so that we can sing praises on how delicious everything was. Until you do, I think I'll cross this place off my list for now and revisit again sometime in the FAR future.

Definitely not your average Italian restaurant! I really enjoyed their starter dish which was a different take on the caprese appetizer. I loved the dry aged tuna in coconut sauce, this was probably the best tuna I have ever had, it was so melt in your mouth good and the coconut sauce was extremely flavorful. The pea risotto and the rockfish with the asparagus was also really good! The rockfish was covered with fingerling potatoes and the potatoes were super crispy and went well with the moist fish! The next dish was the duck. I am not a huge duck person, it was a little tough but the flavor was really good. However the duck confit wrapped in cabbage was super good! The lamb was pretty tender! I really enjoyed the mushroom and artichoke that came with it! I loved the deconstructed lemon cheesecake! Just get it! There was also a filler dessert that was a chocolate truffle, cream puff, and a blackberry tart. This was all underwhelming. I did took off a star (I would give this place 4.5 stars!) because the food kind of took a while to come out and it the whole dinner took about 2 hours. I really appreciated the complimentary glass of wine for the wait! We also sat at the bar and it was a little unorganized with a bunch of stuff at the end of the bar, not a big deal but an eyesore for a really nice restaurant. Overall this place is really good and I would return to try more dishes!
