Glazed bass
Jenmy W.

Good food, ambiance and service. Shared the beet salad, shishito peppers, meatball pizza, wagyu steak and glazed bass. Everything tasted great. Nice that they cook with a wood fired oven. Extensive cocktail, wine and spirits menu. Went on. Sunday night and it wasn't crowded at all, but I'd imagine it'd be busy on weeknights since it seems perfect for happy hour.

Arc Food & Libations was my kind of Monday dinner spot. Met up with a colleague here for dinner and the experience was solid from start to finish. Plenty of parking, which is always a nice bonus, and once inside the restaurant had that dimly lit, cozy, upscale feel that works well for anything from a dinner meeting to a date night. They're open for dinner only, so the whole space really leans into that evening vibe. We grabbed a booth and settled in, and Sara took great care of us all night. She was friendly, attentive, and made the experience feel easy and comfortable without hovering. The drink menu is definitely worth a look too, especially for anyone into whiskey, bourbon, or tequila. There's a wide selection, so this feels like a spot where you can just as easily come for cocktails and bites as you can for a full dinner. We started with the fried olives and cornbread, then followed that up with a wedge salad. Everything came out looking great, and presentation was clearly a big part of the experience here. The standout was easily the 42 oz tomahawk steak. It came out sliced on a long wooden board, which gave it a really impressive presentation and made it feel like the centerpiece of the whole table. We added duck fat potatoes, asparagus, and shrimp, and it all came together into one of those meals that feels a little extra in the best way. Overall this was a strong 4-star visit for me. Good food, polished presentation, great service from Sara, and a cozy upscale atmosphere that makes you want to come back. Would definitely try again

Dessert! Looks better than it taste I would skip! Everything else is a winner

Amazing food, really nice vibes place with low lighting. Perfect place for a dinner date or casual outing. Highly recommend their wedge salad, it was like a b.l.t. Soooo good!

The staff are nice and fast with check in and orders. The restaurant is very well decorated. The duck fat potatoes are very good, crunchy and flavorful. The wedge and grilled bacon are also delicious. I did not enjoy the steak and carrot cake as much as I expected. The steak was missing the wow factor to it. The carrot cake was a little too moist. Overall, it is a nice place to hang out, especially they have very nice patio. Some heaters in cold nights would be nice :)

Very slick & chic and masculine vibe. Beautifully decorated with green and woods throughout the place. There are several seating sections; the bar, the booths, the tables, the outdoor with the fire pit, the patio, a the back. Dim lights but good enough to see the menu, per our waitress, all foods are cook in the big round fire bridge or over fire grill. Parking can be tough at night at the front entrance, but plenty on the other side. Nice, friendly and helpful staff. The foods are excellent and perfectly make or grilled. The drinks are quite good too. The only thing that I didn't like is the carrot cake. I love love love carrot cake but this one is too wet and the taste abit off...it's fine but it is not carrot cake quality's. But very well plated, looks great but the taste of it, is not. Overall, very enjoyable!

Overpriced drinks, but the main entrées are absolutely stellar--the fish in particular is amazing. Unfortunately, the service during this visit was really disappointing. The host staff seemed very young and inattentive. I waited an extremely long time for my main entrée, only to realize it had been delivered to the wrong table. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, the hostess told me my entrée was "coming up," even though it had already gone to a table that arrived well after I did. After waiting an unreasonable amount of time, I decided to just pay for my appetizers and leave. For $43, I only ended up having a tiny $14 cornbread and a $17 bruschetta. On a previous visit, they also forgot my drinks--I waited so long that the food arrived before the drinks ever did. This place used to be great, but lately it feels disorganized and poorly managed, and ran by stuck up folks.

Absolutely wonderful new Chíc restaurant in the middle of furniture row in the Costa Mesa, Orange County, Southern California serves one of the best wood fired stone oven cooked meals including fabulous free range half whole organic chicken that tased absolutely amazing. The calamari appetizer was one of the best. The wine menu was very best and the prices were very reasonable. The manager came to our table and really asked how we enjoyed our wine and even offered different bottle of Barolo wine in case we wanted something else. The butchers burger was absolutely fantastic. Overall solid five stars. Hopefully they will change their menu to include more fascinating dishes!

If I could give Arc 5 stars a thousand times, I would. This place consistently hits the mark, above and beyond. The food always tastes as good as the last time, the cocktails are perfectly balanced, and the staff is kind and attentive without being overwhelming. James is fantastic and his staff is extremely knowledgeable.

First time at ARC and we loved it! We were invited to a Friendsgiving with a whiskey brand and enjoyed a special curated menu with drink pairings. We were a group of 10. We were sat outside with heaters keeping us warm. Our server was sweet and attentive. Our food was paced out perfectly. Every course came with a delicious drink. Some of my favorites dishes were The wedge salad, The shishito peppers, meatballs and the duck leg. Oh! And can't forget about the carrot cake. So moist and sweet. Would definitely come back to sit inside and enjoy more of the menu.

Great atmosphere, great food. We definitely would come back again. Didn't feel rushed even after we finished our food.

Steak and Potatoes

This place has a lovely speakeasy vibe. The staff is friendly and attentive. We ordered roasted beets to start. For entrees we got salmon with asparagus and steak with roasted potatoes. Finished the evening with german chocolate cake. Roasted Beets- This was a refreshing starter. The beets are sweet and juicy. Arugula and ground pistachios give a depth of texture and contrasting flavors. Finished with creamy cheese. Salmon with Asparagus- Fish is fresh and cooked perfectly. Accompanied with crunchy asparagus, tomatoes, and savory cream. Steak with Roasted Potatoes- The meat was tender with a lovely char. The potatoes were absolutely divine! It had a beautiful crisp outside and well-seasoned. German Chocolate Cake- Cake is crumbly and moist. The coconut filling is sweet with a strong vanilla flavor. Perfect way to end the meal. Great place for an upscale meal!

Ratatouille
Kandice K.

A modern upscale-like ambiance to ensure the mood is set for a fine dining experience. The entrees are meant to be shared, but don't expect a HUGE portion size, expected FILLING. For two hungry individuals two entrees and an add on of sorts will be enough, and prices add up fast. We got: 1) The ratatouille because we wanted some vegetables, and it was a creamy delicious chef's kiss! Most of the time ratatouille is tomato based but this was more creamy spinach which was awesome! 2) wagyu steak with duck potatoes- this skillet is probably one of their largest and honestly, one person could finish this but it's better shared. Wagyu steak is a treat and this was cooked to a perfected medium well 3) grilled shrimp, this was an add on to the steak but it comes as its own entree. I don't recommend getting this without another entree as it really operates as a side/appetizer due to several garnishes and about 5-6 pieces of giant shrimp Excellent presentation and very filling food. This is a place I'd say is a treat once in a while because it will add up quickly

I found this place at the last minute because I was going to a concert nearby at the Santa Ana Observatory, and needed to dine before the concert. I used Yelp, of course, and this place was one of the nearby choices. I must admit that the name, "Arc" did not sound appealing to me, but the dollar signs fit what I was looking for on Friday night. I was so pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is great! There are various choices for seating: patio seating, bar seating, booths, privacy seating, and a speakeasy. The pizza and bruschetta were great. One of them had sundried tomatoes and the bread quality very good. The arugula salad was fresh and well presented. I wish I had taken a better photo. It's good date night restaurant, but also appropriate for large parties. I would have given this place 5 stars, if didn't have to wait so long to even get a glass of water that evening. The waiter at the bar was super overwhelmed with orders, and I imagine he did not have the proper support, so I was quiet and patient. However, I did have to wait about 10 minutes until I even got a glass of water. It was an awkward wait, but my husband sat there quietly and waited, and waited. Luckily, we were not in a hurry to get to the concert. The food we ordered was simple, and it was great. I do recommend the Arc, and I would come back, but I don't think I'll be ordering from the bar in the back area again. Perhaps the service will be better out front where there are more people.

Ask the Community - ARC Restaurant Food & Libations

What is the price range? Specifically on the steaks. Thanks.

$65-$125 depending on cut and size. They really encourage shared dishes so a big steak could be the centerpiece of a number of assorted dishes.

Do they still have the large steaks menu?

How much is corkage fee?

$20 per bottle

Can they accommodate for a gluten allergy?

They can accommodate this inquire with hostess at time of reservation

How to book a table?

On the Resy app!

Any corkage fee?

Yes. I think $25?

Have you seen that the restaurant is taking the Covid precautions seriously?

No definitely not in anyway

Do they offer their tacos for dinner?

That I am aware yes did do

Is it ok for kids?

It's OK, but not really an environment since it's a small place and gets crowded quickly. More of a 'date night' place

Is there a TV in the bar area?

No, it's more intimate than that. Watching the wood-fired oven is much more entertaining.

Is there happy hour? And if so, what days and what time?

Negative on the happy hour

Do they still have free corkage here?

Nope! Went last night after a long while and they now charge $20 per bottle😪

Are there any drink specials during brunch?

Pretty sure there isn't, but they have such a large array of outstanding cocktails to choose from and the bartenders are masters at making any custom drink you want to. Don't be shy to ask, they are sweet and don't mind :)

The space is small, so I definitely recommend using Resy to make a reservation. After checking in with the host at Arc, you will be guided to the rear of the restaurant to small round room with a mirrored door and a beautiful chandelier overhead. Upon entering, you will walk through another small hallway with green light and wood framed mirrors on the wall. At this point, you have now entered the Guild Club. The centerpiece is an attractive granite topped bar that seats nine people. The back of the bar features a beautiful wood cabinet with intricate carvings. There is a small area across from the bar with two round tables, each with two high back cushy chairs. This area is more intimate, but the tables are small if you plan to eat and drink a lot. The walls, floor, and ceilings are dark with lots of woodwork, giving a warm cozy feel. There are a nice assortment of interesting lighting fixtures, and paintings on the walls. A few small ceiling areas are painted dark green and display gold astrological signs. At the end of the bar, there is a spiral staircase leading to an upstairs space that I believe is for display only, but it adds a touch of mystique. The Guild has its own small menu of exclusive cocktails and bites, but you can also order anything from the Arc menu. We started off with an order of shishito peppers which were probably some of the best we have ever had. The portion size is very generous, and they have some herbs, almond crumble, and squeezed lemon on top. Be warned that the cast iron skillets that a lot of their food is served in are extremely hot. For cocktails, I started with the Number One. It was a good balanced cocktail with noticeable cucumber flavor and some bitterness on the finish from the Pimms. She started with Einhorn Is Finkle. It had a great light sweetness with some grapefruit flavor and light bubbles. For my entrée, I had the crispy duck. This is actually a big ball of duck meat with a fried coating on the outside. The duck was very flavorful and nothing about the duck or fried shell was greasy or oily. The grated cheese paired well and the arugula added a nice freshness. This was a great dish that I would definitely order again. She ordered the chile relleno. Obviously, Arc is not a Mexican restaurant but this was surprisingly probably the best chile relleno we have ever had. It had a great pumpkin seed crust with a very flavorful succotash inside. The chili itself was huge and filled up the whole skillet. We would absolutely order this again. I was talking with our bartender JT about my recent new appreciation for mezcal if it's toned down and that none of the mezcal drinks on either cocktail menu really caught my eye. He suggested a Last Word with mezcal replacing the gin. I enjoyed it, but the mezcal was a little too prominent for my taste. For her second cocktail, she ordered The Girlfriend which has a humorous description of "changes daily". The current girlfriend when we were there was a twist on a blackberry margarita. This was surprisingly the best drink of the night, and was definitely the most complex margarita we have ever had. It had a light blackberry flavor, and I believe some of the other ingredients that JT mentioned were grapefruit, lime, cocoa, and cinnamon bitters. For dessert, we ordered the German chocolate cake. It was a huge slice of moist cake and was served with a large dollop of fresh cream. The cake wasn't overly sweet which was nice. We shared one last drink, the Liquid Courage as it sounded like a nice dessert cocktail. On my first sip, I tasted coffee which was unexpected. I asked about it, and apparently the drink menu does not list the Nola coffee liqueur that is in this drink. I'm not a fan of coffee, but at least this cocktail had more of a mocha flavor than a strong coffee flavor. I probably wouldn't have ordered it if the ingredient list was accurate, but I think coffee or mocha lovers would enjoy it more. Our bartender JT was pretty much running everything by himself with only a little outside help, and he was doing a great job. He was also very friendly and we enjoyed our conversations with him. The prices are a little on the high side, but the drinks were good, and the food was excellent with generous portion sizes. Our reservation was for 6:00pm and I would recommend visiting a little closer to sunset. There are some outside windows on the far wall and even though there are drapes, a little light still comes through. And if the door to the outside patio is opened, a lot of light comes in if the sun is up. The Guild Club is a great little speakeasy that I only recently discovered, and I would definitely recommend checking it out.
