This review is a couple of months past due - but, better late than never! A friend had recommended Verde Restaurant after a hike, and I honestly didn't have any expectations. The interior looked cozy and cute - with outdoor seating as well; we opted to sit inside. They have a slightly small menu, which was fine. She insisted on ordering the pickled carrots - so of course we had to start with that. The green sauce on top was absolutely delicious. Onto the food - I ordered the Lemon & Sumac Half Chicken which was full of flavor and nothing short of amazing. Her Rainbow Trout was just as good, making us feel good about what we're putting into our bodies. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but the quality of the ingredients Verde Restaurant uses justifies the price. I would definitely come back here, and so happy it was recommended to me! read more

Picked this spot for my birthday dinner with my husband and MIL. I loved how much parking there was and it was so cute inside with a beautiful view. Lemme just start by saying they have the best veggies you will ever have. The carrots and the cauliflower dishes are out of this world. I had seen some reviews so suggested to try this place for a birthday dinner celebration. Located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Inside felt warm and cozy. They allow free corkage for a max of 2 bottles. We shared various plates so was able to try multiple menu items. My fave was the trout as it's something you don't see on many menus. Came here for lunch on a Saturday and interacted with Anthony. The restaurant was pretty empty, but I blame it on the weather and stagecoach. Service was top notch. The Really? Carrot? drink was soooo good. For food we ordered the salmon crudo, pickled carrots, chicken entrée and trout entrée. The salmon Crudo I wish had citrus and salt. We had a wonderful meal here from start to finish for my mom's birthday. We started with salmon crudo, cauliflower and snap peas. The kids got the chicken and the burger off the kids menus and the fries those came with were so good. They both had the mint mocktail and loved it. The adults had salmon entree, trout, and roasted cabbage. All top notch. The prices were reasonable and the service was super friendly. The restaurant is beautiful! At the end , we had the vanilla ice cream and dark chocolate tart (so yummy!). My only small gripe is I wish it had come with a candle to celebrate the birthday. The food was great - we got the roasted carrots, cabbage, pork chop, trout, cheeseburger, Caesar salad and cheesecake. All were delicious and flavorful, some were a bit on the salty side like the sauce for the cabbage and the pork chop seasoning but still really good. The cheeseburger and fries were surprisingly good. I liked that the fries were kind of soft and didn't feel like they were fried too long. The service was so friendly and attentive!! A neighbor recommended I check out Verde. A little hidden, I say that because I passed it a few times without even knowing it was there. I did not Google them so the name definitely threw me off. I was expecting Latin cuisine because of the name "Verde". Any who.... Started off with the "Charred Cabbage" which I enjoyed the most. I wouldve liked to see a topping to add a crunch/ texture to the dish but nonetheless this dish was solid. Ordered a glass of Pinot Noir that tasted like black berries, and "sauvage". Had a balanced finish and paired well with my chicken entree. Out came the half chicken which was smaller than expected, not as crispy as I would've liked but because the Cabbage was so bomb I won't complain about my entree. Got to try the "Really?Carrot? cocktail which was amazing. For some reason I tasted green apple but hey; who would've thought carrot and liquor pair well together. Shout out to who ever curated that drink. Lastly my waiter recommended a cheesecake. I forgot what the topping was but it tasted like orange marmalade. Took a few bites to grow on me. Apparently they have a bar downstairs that serves the full menu - I would definitely come back to experience that. Upstairs the dining area is a bit small - I think I counted less than 20 tables. Parties of 8 or more should call ahead just in case they're busy. Food does take a while to hit the table, the restaurant was empty and each dish took a while to come out. As a server who admires chef driven - farm to table - philosophies I don't mind the wait. Usually these restaurants don't have pre cooked items waiting to be reheated upon ordering. This is a small hidden gem that I would definitely come back and explore more eats with. My bill was about $95 but I did notice my drinks were priced more than my entree. Never heard of this restaurant. Was a totally random find without yelp. Was like reliving the 1990's when you didn't care about other's opinions. Restaurant is on the second floor. If you don't want to deal with stairs then park behind the restaurant which is at the same level. Apparently ground floor has a lounge with live music but not when we went for lunch. Comfortable relaxing atmosphere with stellar service. Menu changes with the seasons. We started with their sweet and sour shishito peppers which were delightful. I also went with the "cigarettes and coffee" cocktail which was a rye and amaro drink. If you like Manhattan's you'll enjoy this. My wife had the fennel encrusted pork chop served with a whole mustard sauce. WOW. I probably taste tested 1/3rd her chop because I couldn't get enough. Truly the best pork chop either of us have had. Cooked to perfection with so much flavor. They brine it which kept it so moist. It was served with green beans. I am definitely ordering it next time. Great price too. I went with the salmon which was served with the skin. Super crispy skin yet moist meat. Served with I think was a curry sauce but not 100% sure. Was delicious whatever it was. The fresh corn was tasty but I think broccolini would have been better to sop up the sauce. I'm so glad I took a chance on this restaurant and I cannot wait to return! read more

We had a really enjoyable experience at Verde Restaurant. The menu is very vegetable-forward with a true farm-to-table feel--everything tasted incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Every dish we ordered was excellent. We went on a Wednesday night and were pleasantly surprised to find out it was their kids-eat-free night, which made the experience even better for our family. The staff was warm and welcoming, especially with the kids, which we really appreciated. Our server was fantastic--very accommodating, knowledgeable, and gave great recommendations that didn't miss. My girls and I came here for dinner and overall had a great time. The hostess was super sweet, gave me water, and even walked me downstairs to take a look at the bar while I waited for the rest of my party. We ordered several dishes that we shared from the menu. Though some of the apps had a unique look, they all were flavorful and very tasty. I especially liked the Crudo, but wish it came with some type of toast. The main dishes were also delicious, so food is 10/10. Loved my cocktail, which was recommended by our server. She was awesome 10/10. The only reason why I removed 2 stars is because they had closed the bar downstairs early at 10:30. The whole reason why we came here to begin with was to have dinner upstairs then make our way down to the bar after dinner. I had called while making the reservations to make sure the bar would be open until 12, as stated on the site. And the person that I talked to assured me it would. So because of this, we all had to find and drive to a new place, which is exactly what we did not want to do. So, besides the bar closing early snafu, I do recommend this place for the service and food. read more

Unfortunately it wasn't a 5 star for us. We had high hopes based on reviews. The service was okay. The server offered recommendations for the appetizers and they were very good. Carrots and Caesar salad were flavorful. However the main courses were not. We were told the burger was fantastic. It was way over cooked and very very salty. We let the server know and all she said was "I'll let the chef know". The fries were rock hard. Not just over cooked but literally were so dried out they were like biting into sticks. The trout had a good sauce but once again way over salted. Made it known and nothing was corrected. Decided to order the chocolate tart to go. Someone decided to whip cream without any sugar - none. The tart was good but so thin I would have called it a cookie not a tart. As thin as a Ritz cracker. Like a disk. It was disappointing to say the least. Onion Spread 10/10 Fantastic appetizer!!!! I liked this so much more than I thought I would. I thought to myself, "I don't like onions, so this will be gross." Boy was I dead wrong lol The creme fraiche was thick and creamy; delightful really. I liked the caramelized onions with the aioli, because it didn't have a strong onion flavor. It had such a nice texture and smooth taste. The chip itself was nice and crunchy, so it created a nice balance with the creamy texture. Okay, I'm done raving about that onion spread lol Smoked Trout 10/10 I love salmon. So, I was very excited for this one! Although, I'm not sure if I have had smoked trout before. This was surprisingly very good. The smoked salmon had a nice flavor. It wasn't overpowering, like I had feared. It gave it a meaty texture and was hearty with the salmon. The romesco purée had a hint of garlic, that I liked. It wasn't strong and paired nicely with the other flavors. The lemon-garlic lebnan added some more flavors with a saltiness. Very good! Came here for dinner with a party of 8. The place has an upscale vibe and the staff is friendly and accommodating. They were able to do separate checks for our group and you can pay with a QR code which makes it so convenient. I started with a daquiri to drink and got the hanger steak with potatoes and trout. Daquiri- It was a nice, citrusy drink. Portion is smaller than what I'm used to but it was strong. Very refreshing! Trout- Fish is fresh and flaky. It was moist and had a mild flavor. Served with snap peas and a charred lemon that adds a burst of freshness to the dish. Hanger Steak with Potatoes- Meat was cooked to perfection with a smoky char. Smashed potatoes had a lovely crisp. Loved outlet first experience at Verde. The food was so delicious and fresh. We loved how the produce and food is locally sourced. The menu has such a wide variety of options for being a small menu. Wow I have found a new restaurant that is my new fav. The service and staff are over the top. I took my girlfriend there to celebrate her birthday. We had a three hour dinner that was so delicious. We started with a beet salad yum. I had the hanger steak and she had the salmon. Both were excellent. We ended up with a scrumptious cheesecake. We both will return soon. read more

I often call ahead for recommendations and speak with Anthony--he knows the menu inside and out, and his suggestions are always spot-on. Every order arrives perfectly packaged and full of flavor. The ingredients are fresh, the vegetables are always well-prepared, and every sauce complements the dish beautifully. The Grilled Pork Chop--served with mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and a savory mustard cream sauce--is absolutely incredible: tender, juicy, and so tasty. The Trout Piccata, pan-seared with a lemon caper butter sauce over roasted fingerling potatoes and asparagus, is so delicious I've ordered it several times. The Half Chicken, with Moroccan spice, butter potatoes, roasted tomato, and garlic sauce, is equally impressive--succulent and bursting with flavor. Even the bread and butter deserve a shout-out: simple, divine, and worth every carb. If you want restaurant-quality food that travels beautifully, Verde never disappoints. Heard about this restaurant on an IG reel and thought I'd check it for dinner. The restaurant ambiance is upscale but laid-back, with diners including small groups, couples, and families. Server was nice and attentive. Our order: - roasted pickled carrots (recommended on IG and by our server) (5/5) - delicious! Carrots were nicely charred and tender while not being mushy. The flavor was a refreshing tang and the creaming dressing helped balance everything out. - Beet salad (2/5) - diced beets with caramelized walnuts and goat cheese (I think!). I thought this dish was fine. The vinaigrette was a tad too tart for my liking - Prime Hangar Steak (4/5) - cooked to medium rare nicely. The meat was lean yet tender and easy to slice. I would've liked the meat to have more umami and less finishing salt for a more balanced flavor. It also had roasted broccolini and fingerling potatoes. Absolutely enjoyed my meal here! A very unassuming location but great fresh food! We were greeted with a friendly smile and shown to our table. Service was great! We started with the charred peas and the gem salad. Peas were incredible and the salad was perfection. I've never had a blue cheeses salad with so much fresh BACON cooked perfectly! For the entrees we had the special which was a cod and the seafood stew. The cod was incredibly buttery and decadent. The stew was not traditional red sauce but a lighter green sauce which a really liked. There was plenty of fresh seafood in smaller pieces easier to eat. Not a big punch of flavor but super fresh and light. The charred bread on the side was a good compliment. Lastly, we had the sundae, banana split style. Very satisfying. I liked the airy open feel of the restaurant but it was a little confusing walking in as there wasn't a host station so you're just standing in the middle of the restaurant waiting for someone to come out and acknowledge you. The staff was friendly but service was pretty slow, especially on a Sunday night when it's not too busy. I got the shrimp cocktail and thought a good size, it was a tiny bit fishy tasting. I got the salmon dish and it was overall good but the crispy skin, which I normally am excited for, it was also fishy. I got a surprise me mocktail and it was perfect, very refreshing. Verde consists of two parts, a bright and open restaurant on the top level and a cozy, lavish bar downstairs. The downstairs bar also serves some food, and the upstairs restaurant also has a bar. My friend and I dined at the restaurant this time but I'll definitely be back to hang out in the bar. Service was top notch. We were always attended to and although they give you a jug of water for the table, I never had an empty glass as they continually came to pour it for us. The menu is seasonal, made with ingredients from local providers so you know everything is top quality. So many things sounded good that I want to try it all, but my friend and I split 3 appetizers, one salad, one main and one dessert. We truly enjoyed every dish. The onion spread was so unique that I recommend giving it a try. I'm a huge steak tartare fan and theirs was absolutely delicious. And another standout was the duck salad. It was so light and fresh and it's not often you see the addition of duck. We rounded out the meal with the wild mushrooms and the hanger steak, both perfectly cooked. Saw this new restaurant Verde when I walked by (it's close to my house) so I thought I would stop by with a friend and try it out. Glad I did. Amazing food and service. Started with a few cocktails. I got the Overnight Celebrity and my friend got the Lip Service. She said it was amazing. Loved my drink as well. Super balanced and on the fruity side but not sweet. They said they jigger everything so the measurements are always exact. We then shared two appetizers: Steak Tartar: This was the star of the show tonight. Super fresh and tasty. Generous portion too. Also got the Onion Dip with chips. This was a superb dip. Never had anything like this. Didn't taste "oniony" if you know what I mean. The dip was so good I asked for another bowl of chips! We then split the Market Salad. Very delicious salad. Big too! Big enough for us to share. Fresh greens and veggies. Loved the feta on top. Highly recommend this salad. For the entrees we go the burger. SUPER JUICY AND JUST THE RIGHT SIZE. Not too big where you're eating so much burger you feel gross afterwards. This was just perfect. Juicy, fresh, and delicious. We opted for a side of aioli to go with the fries. We also shared the Tagliatelle pasta. Homemade pasta very fresh and light. Great texture and flavor. Ended the night with coffees and desserts. They have two dessert options. We got both! Chocolate cake and the Frozen custard with pistachio and kumquats. Both were excellent. Not overly sweet or rich. Service was perfect. Never had to ask for anything. Servers and bussers all worked well together and brought out food and drinks in a timely manner. Very professional and hospitable staff. Located within the Irvine Ranch Market shopping center. There is parking on the lower level or you can drive around back for some additional upper level parking. Their restaurant is on the upper level, while their bar is on the lower level. The two businesses are under the same name, but have different hours and menus, so be mindful. Wife and I went for lunch, so I can't comment on the bar atmosphere, as it's only open later, but there is a small bar within the restaurant, too. The restaurant is upscale casual with very lively and vibey happy music. There is indoor, outdoor (with umbrellas and heat lamps if necessary) and bar seating. Full service, sitdown restaurant. Fast and very friendly service! I tried the a la carte tacos - shrimp, salmon, and carne asada. Shrimp was my favorite! They're served on blue corn tortillas with very flavorful toppings. Wife tried the trout sandwich (not fishy smelling or tasting at all) and she chose fries as opposed to a salad for her side. I tried both and would've been happy had I ordered that. Lip Service gin cocktail was recommended to me as their most popular, and I was not disappointed. Great experience, and we look forward to visiting the bar next time! read more
