The view here is amazing against the water and boats! I really enjoyed my seared cod, smoked salmon tartine, fries and strawberry chantilly cream. I would skip on the nicoise tartine as the albacore tuna was very dry. I also got the Josephine Baker which sounded good, but you can definitely tell that this is more of a healthy smoothie from the blandness. The service was good and our waiter was friendly. Overall, a great lunch spot especially sitting outside!
Loved the steak frites with chimichurri sauce! The steak was juicy, perfectly cooked, and very delicious. The Josephine Baker smoothie was very watery and small, which was not worth the price. I would come back for the steak frites.
Came to treat the parents for their anniversary. It was an ideal location by the water with both indoor and outdoor seating. It was raining that day so we sat inside. Made a reservation but came earlier and they kindly let us. Parking is in a very expensive lot. For 2.5hr we were there, with restaurant validation, it was still like $25. As for the food, it was pretty good. The branzino was the star perfectly cooked, deboned, and butterflied. Had some delicious sides of Brussels sprouts and Japanese sweet potatoes too. There was even some non alcoholic drink options which we appreciated. Now why the 2 stars? Well food was good, but while I can't say the service was "bad," it was just nonexistent. As I've come to realize with other people's reviews, they definitely seem to profile people here and that's really unfortunate. I'll say we were most likely the only ethnic diners at the time. The beautiful ladies at the table next to us definitely got service as well as other tables around. They give a QR code for ordering when getting seated, but the waiter has to take the first order for it to be active. So by the time he arrived, we were already ready to put the whole order. Food came out relatively quick from a runner. Then the rest of the time, the server never once checked on us. I saw him pass by and glance at our table of basically finished meals. They also don't seem to do anything for special occasions. When I finally flagged him down to mention we were finished to get the dishes cleared, he got the check ready right there and didn't even offer a dessert menu to order from. I would've ordered at least something to celebrate but wasn't worth waiting any longer. The two stars is because the food was well cooked. It seems your experience may vary based on if you look like the ones living in the area.
Steak-frites was really tasty! The potato gratin is soooo delicious! Branzino is amazing. Appetizers were great. And the location is perfect. It never disappoints.
Can't beat the atmosphere, it's basically the best. Marcos was my server this evening and he was amazing, super helpful, knowledgeable, attentive and kind. Honestly, I've been here many times for coffee or tea in the morning but haven't ever really eaten at Zinque. I'm sorry to say , but it was not all that exciting. I had the poke nicoise which sounded interesting but wasn't great. It was a very heavily dressed salad with huge pieces of tuna (almost too much tuna) and the olive-vinaigrette-poke combo was a bit weird. Nevertheless, I'm sure I'll be back because as said already, great venue & for excellent service.
Definitely one of my new favorite brunch spots - made it into my top 5 (in terms of food and location, at least)! Love the casual vibe of this place. It's waterfront and can be accessed via the boardwalk (it's behind the street-side shops). Parking can be tough and very expensive - you'll likely have to park in the structure and walk over. Make sure to take your ticket with you for validation. Seating is available inside and outside on their covered patio. Plenty of space for parties of all sizes. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to make a same-day reservation for a Sunday afternoon. They had plenty of open seating even when we got there. Tables were very dirty. They have a lot of work to do - it seems like months if not years of food, dust, and salty moist air mixed together and collected in the creases in the tables, on the walls, etc.. It's like a sticky gross residue that never gets completely clean. Many people like to dress nice in the area but honestly I would hate to wear something nice here out of fear it would get dirty. We also required new plates as ours had old food stuck to them. Service was not great. Our waiter was somewhat attentive but not nice - the poor guy seemed miserable like he hated his job and did not want to be there. Despite the restaurant being full, he wouldn't come by often when we actually needed something - he even disappeared towards the end and a new waiter had to help us. Food is delicious. Besides the location, their saving grace. We tried the sandwiches and yummy! Fries were also delicious with the spicy mayo. Love the different options they have, overall. They also had some great looking food on the brunch and drinks section of the menu. You can scan the QR code at the table to see pictures of each menu item. Overall was good and we'll be back every once in a while because we love Lido. Will try sitting inside in hopes the tables are decent. Really hope management makes some improvements though!
Zinqué is always a good idea. Made a reservation for a Saturday evening and we were seated immediately. We sat right along the boardwalk walkway and it was so relaxing with the water view. It was the Saturday before Mother's Day, so it was a little busier than usual, but it didn't compromise the service. Drinks came out a little slow, but the food arrived in a reasonable time. I ordered the house margarita and it was better than expected. I usually opt for wine here. The salmon was delicious and the yogurt sauce really set it off. Perfect portion, fresh, and overall a great guilt-free option. The bolognese wasn't my favorite dish, it lacked protein, but the sauce was tasty. Whether you're stopping in for apps or a full dinner, the vibes won't disappoint.
We rode our bikes to Zinke for brunch on Saturday. The location is amazing, with fabulous views out over the harbor. Our waiter was friendly and helpful, and offered suggestions when asked. We had several cocktails and shared a variety of dishes. The smoked salmon toast was delicious, as was the quiche. It was a lovely day to sit outside and, again, I cannot overstate how amazing the views are. Highly recommend!
Came here for happy hour after a pilates class with my friend. I have been wanting to try Zinqué, and Lido is always such a nice place to visit. They offer a 3 for $24 deal during happy hour, but just know the tapas are definitely on the smaller side. We ordered the burrata Roman petite pizzas, crispy saffron rice bites (our server warned that this came with only three pieces), and the pâté de campagne. Everything tasted good, but I was a little disappointed by the portion size of the crispy saffron rice bites. They were a delicious snack, I wish it came with more. Same goes for the pâté, which was presented on 2 pieces of toast. For drinks, we had the Passion Sol and the Red Sangria. Both refreshing and delicious. The ambiance is beautiful. We sat outdoors with a harbor view, and they had heaters outside. Our table was candlelit with cozy cushioned seats. Parking is validated for 1 hour. Next time, I would probably do the 3 for $24 per person instead of sharing. I'd like to come back to try their brunch or dinner menus.
I was in the mood for fresh and variety of flavors, Zinque was the perfect choice. It was a busy Sunday afternoon but there were still plenty of seats by the bar to enjoy food and drinks. We ordered Aperol spritz, pork banh mi, steak frites and mixed green salad. The banh mi sandwich was loaded with flavors. The thick slice of pork, pickled onions, crisp cucumber slice and spicy jalapeno meshed well with the sauce and delightful soft bread to round out the meal. Every bite was packed with flavor and even snuck a few steak pieces into for fun. The steak was cooked perfect, we asked for medium rare and paired well with the chimichurri. The greens were a nice addition along side the fries. Everything paired wonderfully together and I'm still craving all those flavors together. The vibe is very Lido and tons of wine options to fit everyone taste.
Had an amazing time at Zinque. We had a reservation at 8:30 and were seated right away. Our server was very attentive and helpful and checked on us multiple times throughout the night. The food was amazing. Highly recommend the crispy brussel sprouts which were super flavorful and crispy, le bowl which was fresh and so satisfying for a salad, and the fries which were perfectly thin and crispy. Make sure you pay using the inkind app so you can get 20% cash back here as well.
Nice location, pleasant service. Some of the dishes were strangely portioned out and a couple of the dishes missed the mark in flavor. The steak frites were not great. Steak was tough and the fries were just ok. The focaccia with hummus had the smallest amount of focaccia bread to go with the giant plate of hummus and the extra bread we pad for was super tiny. The grilled salmon was decent but under seasoned. The bolognese was a really small portion and didn't have enough sauce. Again, waiter was friendly but didn't come by often enough.
While the atmosphere is good, it does not make up for the bad food and terrible service. Atmosphere itself is open, rustic, and has both indoor and outdoor seating right next to the marina. The service is pretty bad as you do not get the exact items you order. Staff also do not seem to care when you try to get this resolved. First of all, do not order the french fries if you are expecting to get the Sriracha mayo dip that is noted in the description of the item. They only give you ketchup. Second, do not order the flourless chocolate cake to go. Once again, the description clearly states that it comes with ice cream, however, this is not provided when you order it to go. Third, the Comte pizzas (mini pizzas) are pretty bad. The zucchini and onion "pizza" is just four small bites. It is also 80% bread with no toppings. This is definitely not worth the price. The crispy saffron rice bites are nothing like what you would expect. I have had many good crispy rice with tuna/salmon, and this was easily the worst one of all. The rice itself is not actually crispy, and the consistency is really weird. Additionally, they should put some salt or Sriracha mayo on this for a little more flavor as the whole thing overall is quite bland. Last, the salmon plate is OK. The same itself was actually pretty well seasoned and tasty, but the rest of the components like the rice and eggplant are lacking in a lot of flavor. If you order anything to go, do not expect the restaurant to resolve any issues. I called to discuss the inconsistencies with what I received versus what is specifically stated on the menu. The employee on the phone did not care and would not provide any partial refunds for the incorrect items. Unfortunately, I would never recommend the spot to anyone.
Got the burger lettuce wrapped ($22) and it was juicy and flavorful with a good amount of fries. Others at the table got the burger too and thought theirs was a bit dry. The ambiance is super nice, right on the water and you can get a view sitting outside. read more
Came here on a hot summer evening and they seated us near the fireplace with a roaring fire. It was actually really hard to get to my seat because the high top tables were crammed so close to one another. After we asked to be moved to another table it took almost another half hour to get the server to take our order Crispy Brussel Sprouts (4/5) - Crispy and yummy but a bit overcooked and burnt. Duo of dips with Foccacia (5/5) - Yummy dips with a nice fluffy piece of focaccia Green Lasagna (3/5) - This was very delicious to start but ended up too salty. I had to keep flagging a server back to fill the water jug over and over since my meal was so salty. read more

Loved this for girl's night. This is located in the Lido Marina Village, right next to Nobu. We made reservations for an early Friday night dinner and was seated on time. For our party of 5, we were comfortably seated in one of the corner booths. Made it to HH for their $12 craft cocktails and 3 for $24 small bites. The fries (spicy mayo) and the petite pepperoni pizza bites were good, the spicy chicken wings was not good at all, so skip that. We added the crispy brussels sprouts and grilled broccolini, red pepper & feta duo dip with their homemade foccacia, and a meat & cheese charcuterie board ($6 upgrade to have both meat & cheese) - total girl dinner we truly enjoyed. We shared some mains short ribs with gratin (good), Wagyu burger & fries (okay), and the rigatoni bolognese (okay). We enjoyed the appetizers and small plates over the entrees. The only serve wine & beer so all their cocktails are wine based. Tons of mocktail options as well. We love their hot drinks, London Fog, Matcha Latte, & a nice pot of the Jasmine Mandarin tea. Our server, Alexis, was the best. Good food. Great ambiance. Cool spot to hang out with a nice view of the marina. Parking validation for your 1st hour. read more

The salmon dish was delicious and plentiful. The rotisserie chicken was on the dry side, and the side of potato's was minimal. The flourless chocolate cake was very bland and disappointing tbh. I'm gluten free and was looking forward to a gf dessert. The vibe was amazing for a date night or girls night out. Love the design and mood lighting. Zinque had great boardwalk dining areas with tables and bench seats lining the boardwalk. Facing the harbor has a wonderful breeze and view of the water. Great for solo,, two or more meals.The food was deliciously prepared. The service was great and method to pay was seamless. read more

Have had food from here several times and always has enjoyed the flavor of it all. The steak frites with chimmichurri and chicken Le Bowl are flavorful. Service for the most part is friendly and solid. The location is a great spot with view of the water. Parking from the structure can be validated here. For being a chain- it's a solid choice for an upscale place. read more

Came here for a morning breakfast. Loved the ambiance as we were able to sit next to the waterfront in Lido. We ordered one of their breakfast burritos and their soft scramble. Loved the breakfast burrito, had clean ingredients and was very tasty with plentiful egg inside. The soft scramble was one of the best scrambled eggs I've ever tasted. I was surprised by how delectable it was. Both of our dishes came with a side of a hot salsa. It paired great with my burrito. read more

Located right on the Water right next to Nobu. You'll find this lovely little French bistro The ambience is very casual but cool Definitely a place. You want have a nice brunch at. The Service was good. The food was better. We had the quiche Lorraine, which was absolutely wonderful. read more
Drink- caramel oat latte was balanced and perfectly hot. I tried my friend's espresso martini which was fine. Food- did not disappoint. For apps I tried the burrata and the tuna tare tare. Both were good starters to share. For my main I ordered The steak frites (medium) and the peppercorn sauce (a buttery cream sauce recommended by our server) which was delicious. My friend's salmon came out great too. Compliments to the chef. Service- The hostess seemed accommodating... arrived Fri night right before our reservation. I was led to believe we are to wait about 20 min for the current party to finish up. Headed to the open seating at the bar and fireplace while waiting. The bartenders were warm and welcoming.. 1 hour later, no update... I'm going back to the hostess, asking what's going on? They've just seated a new party at that table that she said they were waiting to clear? There's no follow thru. It seems disorganized. I don't understand why the manager let us wait 2 hours past our reservation , before telling us they strictly cannot seat our tables beside each other. The food didn't take long to come out. But it did take a hot minute just to place an order. (I knew what I wanted to order days ahead lol) Parking- 4 hours later my parking spot cost $27 after 1 hour validation. Clean, well lit garage. The metal staircase may startle you with each step sounding like a loud bang lol. I saw some street parking but is only 30 min. Overall- if you're in the area and it doesn't look too busy you may receive better service. Otherwise read the reviews and adjust your expectations. read more

Zinque is a cozy neighborhood hotspot that pulls inspiration from French culture and unique small plate concepts within a space where people can "linger and socialize". I absolutely love the wide array of brunch menu options, making Zinque the desired place to stay for a little while, overlooking the beautiful views. The dishes pictured were one of the best brunch items I've tasted, and each one was hearty, nutritious, and made to remember. The quinoa breakfast burrito was unique as I never envisioned how tasty this healthier alternative could have been. Shareable brunch made the experience fun! read more
I've been to zinque twice and I've throughly enjoyed both times that Ive went. The first time was for brunch and that was very enjoyable, I love their brunch / lunch menu a lot. I remember getting the breakfast burrito and thag was mind blowing. This time, I went here for their steak frites and this was the best steak frites I've ever had, the fries are the perfect texture and they cooked the steak to juicy perfection. The service is so nice every one is helpful. Also the seating here is very unique, I love how there's difference options to sit at a couch, inside, or outside which are all aesthetic and nice. read more

My husband and I came here for our first time and had an incredible experience. Our food was amazing, the views great, and the service was unmatched. First time at this restaurant for dinner. We have been here for breakfast and brunch in the past and enjoy the views. Came here for dinner and although it was 5, it was already dark but can see the yachts parked and some lights from balboa. We sat outside under a heater which was nice. I ordered their falafel salad. Other members of the party ordered salmon, burger and the rigatoni bolognese. My wife got the quinoa salad topped with salmon. My falafel salad was nothing to write home about. It was a bed of mixed greens with some cherry tomatoes and avocados and 4 tiny falafel patties (they weren't balls). The ambiance is amazing since you're at this waterfront patio with a nice view of Newport Beach. Our waitress (Kelly, i believe) was so sweet and attentive making sure our dining experience enjoyable. The price was not bad too considering you're dining in with a nice view. Perfect spot to bring your date! Now let's get into the food! We ordered a bunch of items including; Le Bowl, Tuna Tartare Tartine, Steak Frites, Grilled Salmon and Bucatini Pasta, all were exceptional. We finished the whole thing! We were there for the boat show, stopped in for lunch. Indoor and outdoor comfy seating with a view of the marina. Hostess was very kind and helpful with the menu. Our waiter wasn't helpful even though we told him it was our 1st time there, like a chip on his shoulder almost. We ordered 2 teas, didn't even think to look at the menu as we felt rushed. My tea was as bland as Lipton and our friend's was served hot; herbal, floral and delish but he wanted ice. Perhaps our error. My husband and friend ordered the burger, looked amazing with string fries. No frills on a brioche buttered bun, they enjoyed them. I had the pork bán mí sandwich, extraordinarily delicious. I had dinner here with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. The views of the harbor already add so much to the atmosphere. During dinner, we had a nice breeze throughout the meal. We had a pretty large party but our orders came out in a timely manner and nothing was incorrect. Our server was also really friendly and kept everyone's order organized. The food was good. I had the BUCATINI AUX MORILLES and added shrimp. It was good and shrimp was cooked well. I also had a spicy margarita which was really good. It had a hint of jalapeño mixed perfectly well into the drink. In general, I think the food is a bit overpriced but this is in Newport Beach and you're by the water. Heard that the burgers here are to die for and they were right! That Wagyu beef here is a filling and extremely tasty burger! I've dined here many times before but I've eaten the Salmon and Falafel salads which are also amazing! Great restaurant next to Nobu in Lido Marina. read more
