Affogato
Grace K.

*review based on a Monday, which is limited to their pre fix menu I have been hearing about casa dami from friends, highlighted for its cute Christmas decor and vibes for the holidays As noted, we went on a Monday which is their steak and frites prefix night. The cut of steak is hangar, it comes medium rare, and is covered in a beef gravy. You get about 6 oz if I had to guess? It's not a large portion to say the least, the same goes for the fries. They were perfectly crisp, lacking salt but, that's an easy fix. The salad that comes prior to the meal is simple and light, and the affogato that follows is heavenly (but to be fair... you can't eff up a affogato lol) They validate parking in the garage IF the machine is actually working. We weren't able to pull a ticket so instead entered our phone number. When we asked about validation our server noted we could just call security so that they can raise the gate for us. Not the fault of the restaurant but it was just annoying after having paid several hundred dollars for a dinner I left hungry from haha Overall, is it worth the hype? Not so much. However it was a good time, the food was good (just extremely overpriced), and the service was good as well. We may come back on a different day to see about their full menu.

Truffle egg Benedict with smoked salmon

Very cute little European style cafe and wine bar tucked away in NPB peninsula village. Was taking a stroll one morning with my furbaby when we found this place so checked it out. They were decked out in the Xmas season so had Christmas ornaments and reefs around which gave it a more warm and festive energy. Super cute. I had the trifled egg Benedict with smoked salmon (you get a choice of prosciutto or smoked salmon with the dish) which was very good. Also tried the Patatas bravas on the side which were essentially potato wedges with garlic aioli sauce. This latter one was just ok. Noticed they had a number of tapas and other protein entrees they offer for dinner which I would love to try one day soon.

Had a great experience here but they don't have a full bar yet. The sommelier was very helpful. We didn't order the squash but they accidentally brought it to our table. It was delicious. Everything is tapas style so it's fun to share and try a variety. Outdoor seating was nice.

Girls brunch spot! Came here to celebrate my sisters birthday just us 2 and were seated right away. She was given a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate 30 and provided with great recommendations. Loved the truffle eggs Benedict, the side salad offers perfect freshness to cut through the richness of the hollandaise sauce. Great experience!

Came here for our anniversary. Service was nice and friendly! Food was okay. I was a bit upset over the charcuterie board. It's not the same as shown on their Yelp pictures. False advertising?. For the price of $48 it's not worth it. There's no balance of taste on the board, all salty types of cheese. One of the cheese slice had the entire rind on there which is wax, it's edible, but I don't want to eat that...it's wax. However, the tomato jam was good. To add on, seems like if there's a party of 2 people you get less and little care for the Board, maybe bigger party if people you get a variety of options on the board? But correct me if I'm wrong. That was just was i noticed. I just wished it was better. We ordered the empanadas, but we got the ham croquetas instead. Great mistake lol, it tasted good. Meatballs were good, sauce was on point. Truffle bikini sandwich was okay. Literally bread and the thinnest meat. Ratio could be better. Chicken Milanese could use some seasoning. We didn't enjoy the drink. From Yelp pictures, seems like this place is best for breakfast/brunch. Dinner was not on par. Overall, scenery was beautiful. Chicken Milanese was just lacking some salt and needs balance on board.

I don't leave reviews, but this time I absolutely had to. Casa Dami was just too good not to talk about. The food was honestly amazing every dish was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully done. You can tell they truly care about quality. Everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. The ambiance was so good and made our date night absolutely perfect. The atmosphere felt warm, intimate, and inviting the kind of place where you can really relax and enjoy the moment. And the service? Nick is hands down the best server. Delivering top-tier service with a genuine smile the entire time is so impressive. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect without ever making us feel rushed. You can really tell he loves what he does. We'll definitely be back not just because of the incredible food, but because of him too. The service, the food, and the atmosphere were all unforgettable.

Visited this cute spot after work and would say it's more of a spot with a good ambience vs the tapas or wine. Our table had dirty wine glasses and when they were replaced the ordered a bottle that was over $100, that came out flat. We then asked to try a couple of others, until we found one that wasn't. I found that odd.. As for the tapas the empanadas were the tastiest. We also tried the octopus, which was decent as well. Not sure if we visited just in a bad time of day, but felt like the price was a little overrated based off the quality/amount of food provided

This place is really cute! The interior is very aesthetic, and it was a cute spot to grab brunch with a girlfriend. The presentation of everything was great overall, but nothing really captured my attention at the same time flavor-wise. We also waited quite a while for everything. This was fine by me since I was catching up with a friend, but I still noticed that service was pretty slow. I'll have to make a point to come back and see if anything has changed!

Stopped by to grab some drinks with some friends on my birthday, and glad we did. Service here was great, and the drinks were even better. Still think about the limoncello spritz after a month.. My friend got one of the dessert wines, and that was delicious as well, coming from someone who isn't the biggest fan of wine. Ambience was great, definitely hope to come back soon.

Happy to add this spot to the list of hot new restaurants in town. Tapas with the girls is my kind of evening. We had the perfect combo: empanadas, meatballs, glorified chicken nuggets (I forgot the real name, sorry lol), and whipped goat cheese. Every bite was perfection--no notes. The staff was super friendly, and the interior is just as stunning as the outdoor patio, which gives off European vibes with an ocean view and boats passing by. Definitely check it out soon!

Me and my girlfriends stopped by to split a bottle and share an app! We visited on a Sunday night and we got really lucky the bar seating was open since we didn't have a reservation. Parking is super tough around the area, but if you don't mind walking a couple blocks there's plenty of free street parking. The restaurant is beautiful, it reminds me of some spots you walk past in Europe. Very loud music if you're seated inside. We loved the details of the dinnerware and the service was great. We split a bottle of white wine and shared the patatas bravas which was good! A bottle and the one app came out to $120 which is pretty pricey, but I'd visit again for a special occasion and to try more of their food!

BEWARE OF THEFT!! After paying our bill we left a cash tip, and they decided to add their own tip to the credit card I put down. Disputed with my credit card immediately. CHECK YOUR CHARGE HISTORY IF YOU WANT TO EAT HERE!!

This place truly feels like a little escape back to Europe. I love coming here in the morning and enjoying a coffee. The view is beautiful and the atmosphere is just perfect, very calm and cozy. Everything feels so aesthetic and relaxing. Definitely one of my favorite spots.

The parking lot situation can be confusing but thankfully there is ample parking right across the street. Semi Tropic wines is located on an unassuming street but is very beautiful and cool inside. They also have a spacious patio for outdoor seating. I had a sparking wine that was juicy, slightly sweet, and refreshing. There were limited wines options this night but I think that's partly because the menu was "curated." Lots of non-alcoholic options which was a pleasant surprise. Menu is on the pricier side. This night we came because they were hosting the food pop up "Three Pigs" which offered a variety of yakitori skewers. We ordered one of everything and my favorites were the beef, chicken thigh, and cucumber salad. I'd love to come back and try Semi Tropic's house menu, but if they keep up a steady rotation of cool pop ups like this I think that would be an amazing idea too! I'm looking forward to their future events. We arrived early in the night (about 5:30pm) so there weren't many people. By the time we left closer to 7pm. the line to order at the bar was considerably longer and the place was packed. They host live jazz Thursdays and Fridays which I would definitely come back to enjoy for longer! Semi Tropic Wines is a neat place that would be fun for a first date, or a great place to begin your night out (if you're not worried about price). Cheers!

We waited about 10 minutes and there's no menu circulating so you are just standing there not knowing what they have. When we got to the counter to order, there were only five wines to choose from. I was a bit surprised since this is a wine bar. There's also only five food options and nothing really sounded great to me. On their website, they listed charcuterie and a lot more wines, but that was not what was offered. The inside is really cute. But the outside is rundown. The patio looks pretty shabby and that's where the jazz musicians play. There's no heat lamps or really a vibe out there. But the music was fantastic!

It's waterfront and can be accessed via the boardwalk (it's behind the street-side shops). Parking can be tough and very expensive - you'll likely have to park in the structure and walk over. Make sure to take your ticket with you for validation. Seating is available inside and outside on their covered patio. Plenty of space for parties of all sizes. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to make a same-day reservation for a Sunday afternoon. They had plenty of open seating even when we got there. Tables were very dirty. They have a lot of work to do - it seems like months if not years of food, dust, and salty moist air mixed together and collected in the creases in the tables, on the walls, etc.. It's like a sticky gross residue that never gets completely clean. Many people like to dress nice in the area but honestly I would hate to wear something nice here out of fear it would get dirty. We also required new plates as ours had old food stuck to them. Service was not great. Our waiter was somewhat attentive but not nice - the poor guy seemed miserable like he hated his job and did not want to be there. Despite the restaurant being full, he wouldn't come by often when we actually needed something - he even disappeared towards the end and a new waiter had to help us. Food is delicious. Besides the location, their saving grace. We tried the sandwiches and yummy! Fries were also delicious with the spicy mayo. Love the different options they have, overall. They also had some great looking food on the brunch and drinks section of the menu. You can scan the QR code at the table to see pictures of each menu item. Overall was good and we'll be back every once in a while because we love Lido. Will try sitting inside in hopes the tables are decent. Really hope management makes some improvements though!

It was the Saturday before Mother's Day, so it was a little busier than usual, but it didn't compromise the service. Drinks came out a little slow, but the food arrived in a reasonable time. I ordered the house margarita and it was better than expected. I usually opt for wine here. The salmon was delicious and the yogurt sauce really set it off. Perfect portion, fresh, and overall a great guilt-free option. The bolognese wasn't my favorite dish, it lacked protein, but the sauce was tasty. Whether you're stopping in for apps or a full dinner, the vibes won't disappoint.

Certainly seafood is one of their specialties, however, we do like their steak and pork. Parking in this area is very difficult. The only option is to park in the Lido garage. The restaurant does validate however, customers sometimes need to ask for it. Our waiter was nice enough to have reminded us about that. Overall a good solid restaurant that usually keeps up their quality and service; and provides a nice dining experience for their customers.

Well, let's fix that right now because this place should be a must-see destination when you are in Orange county. I'm not kidding, this place is an adult Disneyland! The moment you walk in the door it is a visual sensory overload. To the left isn't a complete cigar shop with some of the most elusive and amazing brands. It is definitely a must-see when you go in. The humidor is stocked to the gills, and they have every accessory you could possibly want. As you keep walking, to your left, they have an amazing gourmet chocolate section that is second to none. One of my favorite places to go and just wander around like a kid in a candy store... Literally. You have to go downstairs where the wine selection is. I'm not kidding you, it is like a half a city block long broken down into country, region, varietal, and tight. There are so many bottles to choose from. You can get anything from a $10 bottle up to a $17,000 bottle of wine If you are a bourbon, Scotch, or whiskey fan, you have to check out the selection that they have. They have amazing deals, they work with the distillers to have a great selection of high-end alcohol. Speaking of high-end, behind the glass obviously is the really high-end stuff like pappy, Van Winkle, whistle, pig and many others to choose from. Are they pricey? Yes they are. Are they hard to find, yes they are. Can I afford them? Absolutely not. But they are fun to look at like paintings in a museum. Here's the secret ticket for those of you going in at the back of the bourbon section, right next to the walk-in beer cooler, they have a discount rack where you can pick up bottles for seriously 90% hot. Hot it is definitely worth a look because sometimes you will find amazing deals on stuff that you never thought you could afford. Speaking of beer, you can buy kegs six packs, individual cans of just about any beer you can think of... And even some you did not know existed. It is definitely worth your while to go there and hang out for an hour. I can't end this review before bragging on the staff. Super nice, super helpful, willing to make suggestions, and just making your visit. Fun is the cornerstone of the experience. Super great people kind of like cheers, where they remember your name. Bottom line? You would be doing a disservice if you did not go check this place out. Highly recommended and Dan Leadbetter approved!
