Love this place. The drinks are amazing and the food is next level. So many good options to choose from. Perfect for a dinner date.

This restaurant is such a wonderful place, it's small and beautiful. The staff is friendly, professional and joyful! The drinks are perfect! Spicy Margarita, Martini or any of the special drinks are fantastic. The wines are varied and well priced, especially on half price Wednesdays! I LoVe the menu and have a difficult time deciding what to select because you can't go wrong! Close your eyes and point!

CDM Restaurant is a vibe. The decor and lighting immediately set the tone. Dim, moody, stylish, and fun without feeling overdone. It's the kind of place that feels great for a date night or a group dinner where you want good energy. They also have a fantastic bar where you can sit and watch the game with a touch of elegance vs your favorite sports bar. Their old fashioned is top notch and the logo stamped ice they use is so cool! (see photos) The food is very good across the board. The spicy tuna on tempura eggplant is a standout. Huge portion, super flavorful, and delicious. Since it's run by the same team as A Restaurant, they also serve the legendary blue cheese burger, which is an absolute must for burger fans. The fries are excellent too: crispy, well-seasoned, and addictive. We also tried the blackened salmon, but swapped in the halibut sides and sauces at our server's suggestion--great call. It was outstanding, and the presentation was beautiful. Everything that hit the table looked thoughtfully plated. One heads-up: valet parking is pretty much required unless you luck out with street parking. Worth it though. CDM nails the combo of atmosphere, food, and execution, and I'll definitely be back.

This restaurant has a dark lounge speakeasy vibe which I enjoyed. It is quite small and doesn't have the most ideal location. Valet parking is in a tight alleyway, and it's also hard to find parking on the streets. Food was overall a hit and miss. We ordered pizza, charred octopus, and fig arugula salad for starters. The pizza was delicious while the salad was just decent. The octopus tasted fresh but the portion was small and masked by mostly sliced potatoes and burned chorizo. The dish also had a spicy kick which isn't ideal for people who have acid reflux. For entrees, we had filet mignon and salmon. Both dishes were delicious, tender and well-seasoned. And for dessert, we had apple tart and chocolate silk pie. The apple tart was too sweet with a lot of caramel sauce while the chocolate pie was scrumptious. Cocktail drinks were refreshing. Service was unfortunately lackluster. Our waiter wasn't friendly and barely said two words to us. And while we were still working on our starters, the staff started taking plates away multiple times. I had to tell them we weren't done yet. They were just so rushy. The restaurant wasn't packed, so I didn't understand why. Maybe we just had a bad waiter that night and it's not normally like this? Nonetheless, I do hope the staff could work on their timing better.

We love CDM!! Our server Ruby was great! Very kind, helpful and attentive. Wasn't our first time here, but we did try a couple new things this time. We started off with the parker house rolls and the spicy yellowfin tuna, which were both great starters. The star of the show was the lamb rack. This dish is cooked perfectly and pairs well with the pesto gnocchi that came with it. Our second favorite is the delicious charred octopus that comes with chorizo and potatoes. The service was great, the food is flavorful & tasty and the restaurant itself is very classy and perfect for a night out!

Father Son dinner while visiting the area and we were treated very nicely. It was a crowded night and so our reservations were in an outdoor area without much traffic which was fine by us. The waitress recommended a few things and we stuck with most of them, having the Parker House Rolls, the grilled carrots, and the chicken piccata with the unlock of a serving of cacio e pepe instead of potatoes. For the two of us, it was a LOT (six rolls and a carrot plate the size of a mountain) but delicious. Everything was truly enjoyable and I wish that we had more people with us so we could have sampled more but with those three things, we didn't have room for dessert!

The food was great, and the service was really personal, as we ate downstairs in the speakeasy (really sexy atmosphere) on Valentines. Our waiter/bartender was super friendly and funny. They had a specialty drink menu for the occasion and served my favorite rye, Angel's Envy, which I had on the rock. However, buyer-beware. When we got the check at the end and had ordered three drinks between us, there was a $2 charge added to each drink, so $6 on top of the cost of the $20 drinks. I couldn't figure it out, until I called back a week later to inquire after finding the receipt in my pocket. The Manager explained that CdM adds a $2 charge for making mixed drinks, and a $2 charge for the 'big ice cube'. You read that right $2 for a goddamn ice cube and $2 for mixing a cocktail. Frozen water. I may never go back, which is a shame. Was especially annoying that I was asked if I wanted a large cube, as I am at every bar/restaurant but no mention of the up-charge. Please help me understand the CdM cost impact that required somebody to come up with the brilliant idea that they start charging for ice? So unacceptable and truly outrageous. Cubes Don't Matter (CdM)

Let me start with the waiter who really made the experience. Super nice guy that gave us great recommendations and was just amazingly cool. He recommended the chicken piccata and it was on point. So good. Just really crispy with a great sauce. I got mine without capers because I hate them, but this chicken was cooked perfectly. Also ordered the Brussels sprouts and broccolini which were both great. We had the octopus and ahi appetizers and both were really tasty. Highly recommend this place.

Sam did an amazing job as our server tonight. We came in for happy hour and shared an A Burger, fries and a Super Pizza. So full after the burger that we had to get the pizza to go. Definitely coming back and Sam turned us onto, A Restaurant too. So we're going to check that place out too.

I came here with a friend for a weeknight dinner. The outdoor patio was lit up for the holidays and looking so pretty. Inside, the bar area was pretty busy so glad we had a reservation. The bar dos have TVs and had the football game playing. For food, we started with the artichoke dip, which had a really good, unique flavor to it. It was served with bread, and had some type of onion topping on the dip. We both loved this. For food, the burger was very good as was the Chicken Piccata. The serving sizes were very generous, you could definitely share a few things. The Espresso Martini was also good and tasted like it has real espresso in it. Our waitress was attentive and helpful with suggestions. I'd love to come back for a weekday special or happy hour.

We had a lovely date night at CDM. I tried making a reservation by calling them. Their new system was really easy and I did it all through the automated system on the phone. We got there and they had room in the speakeasy where we grabbed a couple drinks with bartender Brandon. He was awesome. He curated the drink menu and it was pretty epic. I loved the kiwi drink he made me sans alcohol. Then we had dinner. Our go to options are charred octopus and the dirty pasty. I was shocked how great their burger was though--that was an outside the norm order for us. The chopped salad was delicious too.

I expected better.. I'm easy to impress but this just wasn't it. Came with a reservation and were seated on the patio. Thankfully the server came by and turned the heater on for us! We got the truffle fries as a starter - pretty good! Loved the truffle sauce. Our server recommended the dirty pasta and the chicken piccata - both okay. Tried the piccata with the pasta. Husband really didn't like the dirty pasta. Appetizer and food came out simultaneously, which made it to difficult to enjoy.

The service was outstanding. This place is definitely a hidden gem and highly recommend to anyone looking for a romantic date night. The portions are shareable and the menu is regularly updated with seasonal options. We came for my birthday and it was such a wonderful experience. The staff went out of their way to make it extra special and it was very appreciated. Would highly recommend trying the pizza! And recommend using the valet as parking is very limited.

How do I make a reservation for the speakeasy?

Phone them & request reservations for the Under CDM/Speakeasy.

Is there open seating at the bar?

Yes, there is. But it does usually fill up. It is open seating.

Is Under CDM still closed to the public? If Not, how does one make a reservation for Under CDM?

Yes they are open to the public, no secret password, for reservations call them & specifically request the Under CDM Speakeasy. Hope this helps!

    Do you take reservations?

    yes!

    What's the corkage fee?

    $30

Is there self parking or street parking?

VALET AND SELF PARKING IS AVAILABLE BUT SELF PARKING IS A PAIN IN THE BUTT. YOU HAVE TO PARK IN THE RESIDENTIAL

Can you order their cocktails at dinner, or do you have to go to Under CDM to have the cocktails? On the dinner menu, I see alcohol listed, but nothing about cocktails in particular, so I'm a little confused!

What I was told was that the dining room is strictly for dinner with cocktails, the bar or downstairs is for cocktails.

    With parking lot?

They did have valet when I was there on a Tuesday

For outdoor seating are dogs allowed? Thanks!

Does the speakeasy offer a food menu as well, or solely drinks? Waited too long to book a reservation, so trying to determine if we can just pop into the speakeasy instead!

As of recently, they offer the full food menu downstairs as well!!

I was advised by the hostess that guests have a maximum of two hours to enjoy dinner, is this true?

Yes, typically, they advise to a 2 hour max for dining but if you go towards the end of the evening, they don't normally mention it because you're probably the last seating

When are you going to post the menu?

Yes a the new, self branded, hot spot they will notify you of the 2 hour limit so they can have a second or 3rd table turn. This will fade in 5 to 6 months when people… Read more

Advertised live dj on sundays when we made reservations and there was no live music. Food is overall bland as hell, steak was chewy and dry and unsalted it seems. Chicken and waffles board was probably the worst chicken and waffles I've had, and all the sides that came with it seemed random as hell. We were excited to try a newish brunch spot out and to get a bottle of champagne for mimosas. Little did we know, that the mimosa would be the best part of the meal. This spot replaced a super crappy brunch buffet, that was one of the saddest buffets I've ever been to. Saw that they opened a new concept and saw that they advertised live DJs on sundays for brunch. So we decided to try it. We sat down and ordered the chicken and waffles platter and steak and salad plate. The chicken and waffle plate was really not that good, not a single item on the platter was good. Waffles, you can tell they tried to make it fancy, but just tasted weird and dry. The syrup, looks like they make in house also, not sweet enough and bland. The chicken was the least bland item out of everything, but it's not worth it at all. The steak was one of the chewiest, dry steaks I've had in a while also under seasoned, maybe even no salt. The chicken platter also had random items on it, that made no sense. Random sprigs of rosemary, marshmallow amongst other items. Nothing seemed to gel and it looked like they were just trying to fill the space with easy things. The mimosas that came with the chicken and waffles platter was the star of our meal. Honestly, I'd say it's hard to make food taste this bland and whatevers. With what they are charging, the steak shouldn't be dry and chewy, let alone not seasoned. Everything was under seasoned like we were in a cardiatric ward in the hospital. You can make better food following any recipe on YouTube. 2 stars for the mimosa and the server was very friendly, service wasn't anything to write home about though. Not busy at all, and a lot of workers just standing around. We didn't get checked on much throughout the meal. Oh and the valet was free at least.

When my plate came out I knew immediately it would be just ok. The enchiladas didn't even look saucy. The refried beans looked (and tasted) like canned beans. The rice was very boring. The tinga chicken, somehow, was dry. My wife had the tostada salad. It was like $26 because of the $10 add on of steak. $26 for the most gringo thing on the menu. Best part of it was the steak, the rest will be repressed from my memory. A friend had the taco trio. $19 for 3 tacos and no sides. That's pretty steep. He didn't even finish the 3 tacos. He had the short rib, al pastor and carnitas. None of them looked very good. I had a pinch of his short rib meat. It tasted like grandma's Sunday pot roast. And just like the tinga chicken it was also dry. My wife's strawberry marg was quite good. The beer menu was very basic. Gotta step it up. Then passed us off to a different host - who brought us to a tabel in the back, inside. I mentioned that the first host had said we could sit outside and she said "Oh no, those tables are full" but I had just seen several open... so? It wasn't a huge deal though. We waited a looong time for a waiter to come over and when he did he brought us two waters - one cold and with ice and one very warm with no ice. I have no idea how he got two completely different waters. He apologized for being late and took our order. 45 minutes later - our food shows up (I ordered the salmon sandwich and my mom ordered a bowl of clam chowder). The clam chowder was served in a big bowl but was about a cups worth of soup...lots of empty space in that big bowl... However, my sandwich came with a large piece of plastic in it. I flagged down the manager, who is the only reason this review is getting 2 stars instead of 1, who was very nice, apologized prefusely, told me our meal was on the house, and offered me make me another sandwich. However, I said that I couldn't wait another 45 minutes for a new sandwich so I asked for a caesar salad instead - which he quickly got me. But..this is where bad turns worse. About 80% of the way through my salad, I look down and there's a silver bug walking around my lettuce. This is not a flying bug...it was in the salad. Ugh - I couldn't deal. Since the manager had already told us our meal was comped, we got up to leave but we've worked in kitchens before so wanted to alert the manager. I asked the younger male host at the front to get him for me and he said "oh, I can help you...what's up?" When I explained, he said, "Oh, okay, can you do me a favor and go sit back at your table and I'll send someone over?" Hahaha - no, I can't go sit back at the table with the bug. Geez louise! I told him as such and asked for the manager, who again, was super nice, offered me a gift card to return (which I turned down, I've been put off from this place at this point) but it was kind of him. He handled the situation very well and assured me he was going to go check the lettuce in the kitchen. The manager is the saving grace of this place but honestly, between weird warm water, terrible wait service (we never saw that original waiter again after he dropped off the water and took our order), plastic in one dish and a bug in the other...I'm concerned for the state of their kitchen. We certainly won't be back.
