We had a large group that bought out the restaurant. The food was delicious. The service was outstanding. The ambiance was beautiful being right on the water and nice decor. A 5* experience.

What a spot! Wow! Everyone who is anyone seems to know about this happy hour. We inadvertently showed up on a Saturday at 3:15 and were told that the line with 20 people already in it, was for the happy hour that starts at 3:30. We jumped in line like good the good (and eager) happy hour guests that we are. They wait until exactly 3:30 to let everyone in. We all get in find our seats. The bar starts poppin' It fills up with beautiful young people and it's just great people watching. We ordered a few things. Drinks are NOT on happy hour. Just a few good food options. The rolls are all pretty good. But I'm a sushi snob, so I can find fault with any American style rolls. But they are good for what they are. The drinks are kinda pricey. Normal for the area $18-$20. Beers are kinda normal priced at $9-$11 The bartenders are super friendly and efficient. They have the whole happy hour thing down. If I had known about this place when I was single, I would have been here every night. Love it!

It is our first time here. We went during happy hour. Plenty of parking, would advise to find a parking on the street to avoid paying for valet. We had sushi and Sashimi. The sashimis are good and fresh. Then popcorn shrimp is one of the best. The Chilean sea bass miso is reallyyy good. The servers are very attentive. Tyler is really pleasant and help us with their menu. Gave us some suggestions. We met their sous chef too. We sat by the window overlooking the water side. Lota of seatings and by 4 pm the place is almost full. Highly recommended!!!

The Cannery -the ultimate stop for our Duffy! Celebrated a friend's birthday at The Cannery and docked our Duffy there - so cool to hop off the Duffy and enter the restaurant. Ordered the swordfish tacos, clam chowder - delicious! Entrees were huge! Ended the dinner with the molten chocolate cake and Carrot Cake. Highly recommend The Cannery!

Always have An amazing time coming here for industry night on Monday. The open seating always makes it easy, we never have a hard time finding a spot. I believe Sophia/Sophie is usually almost always my server when I dine in the lounge she's the best! She's a cute petite brunette with medium length hair, I'm pretty sure that's her name! she is super attentive and always takes great care of me and any guests I bring! This place is known for their seafood and always has very fresh seafood dishes and sushi rolls! Our server last Monday was Curtis and was awesome! He says he's usually down in the main dining room but we were so lucky to have him in the lounge on Monday taking care of us! Super friendly and talented sever!

We were in the area for the Newport Christmas Boat Parade and we made a point to stop for a quick espresso martini, one of their most popular drinks. They hit the spot and we only wish we could have stayed for dinner to enjoy their delicious food. The service was great and always with a smile. The ambiance was loud but with happy cheer. There were lots of holiday groups enjoying their night.

My wife and I visited The Cannery for our 15-year anniversary on November 29, 2025. This restaurant holds a lot of sentimental meaning for us: it's where we had our first date, where I proposed one year later, and now, 15 years after that, we returned to celebrate again. Oddly enough, on all three occasions we happened to sit in three sequential booths near the front, overlooking the waterfront. My wife commented that her dirty martinis were some of the best she could remember and really enjoyed them--they were quite strong, as was my Captain Morgan and Coke. We started with the bread service, which comes with both regular butter and a sweetened butter. Both were delicious, and I preferred the sourdough rolls over the squaw rolls. Next, we shared the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were large and fresh, served with cocktail sauce and what seemed to be a tartar-style sauce. (It was also pretty comical that the shrimp arrangement resembled a smiley face.) If I were to give a suggestion, it's that I would have liked a bit more cocktail sauce. We then had the Shellfish Trio, which includes lobster, shrimp, and scallops served with risotto. This was a delicious dish--plenty of food for my wife and I to split as a meal. The staff kindly brought us a chocolate molten cake as an anniversary gift to top it all off... It was rich, warm, and delicious. We really enjoyed our meal. The service was excellent, the views were wonderful, and this restaurant carries a lot of history for my wife and me. The staff were also very kind and gave my wife a little bouquet of flowers for our anniversary. We will definitely be back!

This restaurant is right along the water and has really cute vibes inside. They have multiple bars and can pass for both upscale or casual dining depending what you're feeling. Unfortunately, the food was quite overwhelming and overpriced. I didn't feel like the fish tasted fresh, and the fish in the tacos were dry. The tacos also didn't have much flavor to them. Our server also only came by a few times sparsely throughout the dinner so it took a while to get anything done. Probably won't be coming back here for the food, but vibes are nice!

We absolutely love The Cannery for brunch and special occasions! The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. Ruby was so sweet to us -- she even surprised me with these beautiful flowers for my birthday, which meant so much. She kindly helped take our photo, and the breathtaking bay views made the whole experience feel extra special. Love, love this place and so grateful for such genuine hospitality. We will always be back

Unfortunately wouldn't go back or recommend to anyone. Service was non existent; was there for 2 hours and only saw our server for maybe 5 minutes (altogether). Ordered a few apps and rolls and nothing stuck out, it was all 'okay.' Also appears the chefs gave up on giving quality rolls (see attached pic).

Very cool tank with jelly fish!

Work trip experience but my 3rd time here. Good service, very attentive. Wonderful menu selections and no one of our group of five left without being satisfied. Wonderful atmosphere indoor and out depending on the time of year. In the winter months they keep the patio open but enclose for warmth.

Had a wonderful evening at The Cannery in Newport Beach! The food was absolutely fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The restaurant had such a warm, festive energy that made the night feel extra special. After dinner, our friends took us out on their boat to watch the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade, and it couldn't have been a more perfect way to celebrate the season. Great food, great company, and magical holiday vibes all around.

The staff was very friendly. The server was attentive and helpful. The ambiance was unique and fun. Definitely makes you feel like you're dining by the ocean. We started off with the calamari, which was great; we all loved. The octopus was good but a bit tough. And the crab cakes was also good; the sauce pairs well with it. I also recommend getting the fries; it was a big portion, perfect to share. We then got a few sushi rolls, and they were all honestly tasty. The dragon roll and the "911" roll weren't two favorites. The menu also offers a wide variety of drinks for everyone's taste. Can't wait to come back and try more great options.

For drinks, my husband started off with a gin spritz which was refreshing and not too sugary. I wanted herbal tea but all they had was black, so my server got creative and put fresh mint leaves in hot water which hit the spot! For food, we shared the sourdough pancakes with lemon mascarpone and blueberry compote and the shakshuka (with extra poached eggs on the side). Both meals were incredible! The pancakes were the perfect amount of sweetness as the batter was not overly sugary to account for the compote and mascarpone. The shakshuka was bold and rich in flavor and my husband particularly loved the naan that came with it. The struggle now, is whether we come for brunch or dinner!

We started with the Caesar salad, which sounded unique with kale and capers mixed with romaine. It did not disappoint--my husband took the first bite and immediately loved it. For mains, we ordered the Fable Burger and the 12-hour Kurobuta porchetta. The burger was next level, especially with the addition of pork belly--it added so much flavor and made it stand out from a typical burger. The porchetta was also a hit: perfectly cooked, tender, and paired so well with the polenta. We ordered the kids cheese pizza for our toddler and we were surprised how big it was. Definitely worth the price! Honestly, we loved everything we ordered and enjoyed every single bite. Service was fantastic as well--friendly and attentive throughout our visit. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the food took a while to come out. It wasn't a dealbreaker, but definitely noticeable. Overall, a great dining experience and definitely worth trying!

Although it is located in a resort, it is definitely a locals spot. Everyone appeared to know each other from the area. Very friendly. We arrived around 11:00 am for Brunch and to watch the final day of The Masters. It was a rainy morning so we elected to sit at the bar. We typically enjoy sitting outside on the patio at the tables or the fire pits, if you still at the bar, you still have a nice view of the boats lined up in the harbor. Tia was the bartender when we arrived. She was very attentive and professional. Tia explained brunch was already over which we were a little bummed but she said she could still do a couple of breakfast boards. Neither looked like what we were interested in eating so we elected to go for lunch. We ordered Bloody Marys and they were delicious. We started with the Chef's Seasonal Burrata - Pistachio pesto, roasted beets, pomegranate, lemon olive oil, fresh herbs, grilled house made focaccia. This was very refreshing and tasty. It is also GF and Veg. I ordered the A+O Burger - Brioche bun, butter lettuce, 1000 island, farmhouse cheddar, caramelized onion, pickles, fries. I ordered it Medium and unfortunately the burger was cooked well done. It had great flavor but it was a little dry since not cooked to order. The fries were delicious, hot and crispy. My husband ordered the Pork Belly Sliders - Pork belly, butterleaf lettuce, roma tomatoes, fresh sliced pickles, spicy aioli, Kings Hawaiian slider bun. He said they were delicious. Tia left and Joe took over. Joe was amazing. Very attentive and friendly. Joe went out of his way to grab a drink I requested that was not available at the bar and brought it out for me. Very nice! The bar was crowded and Joe took care of everyone with ease while giving everyone attention. Cameron also came in shift and was very friendly as well. The service was excellent and we liked the food. If they had cooked my burger to requested temp it would have been perfect. We will be back!

Advertised live dj on sundays when we made reservations and there was no live music. Food is overall bland as hell, steak was chewy and dry and unsalted it seems. Chicken and waffles board was probably the worst chicken and waffles I've had, and all the sides that came with it seemed random as hell. We were excited to try a newish brunch spot out and to get a bottle of champagne for mimosas. Little did we know, that the mimosa would be the best part of the meal. This spot replaced a super crappy brunch buffet, that was one of the saddest buffets I've ever been to. Saw that they opened a new concept and saw that they advertised live DJs on sundays for brunch. So we decided to try it. We sat down and ordered the chicken and waffles platter and steak and salad plate. The chicken and waffle plate was really not that good, not a single item on the platter was good. Waffles, you can tell they tried to make it fancy, but just tasted weird and dry. The syrup, looks like they make in house also, not sweet enough and bland. The chicken was the least bland item out of everything, but it's not worth it at all. The steak was one of the chewiest, dry steaks I've had in a while also under seasoned, maybe even no salt. The chicken platter also had random items on it, that made no sense. Random sprigs of rosemary, marshmallow amongst other items. Nothing seemed to gel and it looked like they were just trying to fill the space with easy things. The mimosas that came with the chicken and waffles platter was the star of our meal. Honestly, I'd say it's hard to make food taste this bland and whatevers. With what they are charging, the steak shouldn't be dry and chewy, let alone not seasoned. Everything was under seasoned like we were in a cardiatric ward in the hospital. You can make better food following any recipe on YouTube. 2 stars for the mimosa and the server was very friendly, service wasn't anything to write home about though. Not busy at all, and a lot of workers just standing around. We didn't get checked on much throughout the meal. Oh and the valet was free at least.
