I came here on a Wednesday after work with a friend. We were lucky enough to snag a table with a booth and just in time for happy hour. We got the crispy cauliflower to start which surprised me - I really liked the dill ranch that came with it. For our mains, I got the bourbon bacon blues burger which was so good with the blue cheese, the flavor was strong but in all the right ways. My friend enjoyed her buffalo chicken sandwich and was able to take half to go. She did say she wished the buffalo sauce was a bit thicker, it's a rather thin sauce. This is a great spot to come and watch games as they have lots of big screens. Just know that it gets rather busy when big games are on. On days that there isn't big games, tables come and go pretty quickly so there isnt usually much of a wait at least on the weekdays. There are options for indoor and outdoor seating available. Our server was good, however I will say as soon as we paid they stopped refilling our waters. We stayed and chatted for a bit but our waiter or any staff never checked on us again after. Also, the bathroom could have used some attention, the trashcan was overflowing with paper towels and the plunger was out in plain view. I met a friend at Kenwood for lunch and decided to try something beyond the basic burgers I had ordered on previous visits. I am glad I did. The lunch menu offers a great variety and is an excellent value. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with a Caesar salad instead of fries, and both were delicious. The sandwich had incredible flavor, and the salad was the perfect fresh side. My meal was a little over $13 before tax, tip, and iced tea, which is honestly less than many fast food lunches but tastes much fresher and better quality. I had seen this place multiple times on my way and around Southern California. Specifically the Costa Mesa Newport Beach area but never stopped by. Today. My friend had to go shopping and so we decided to grab a bite to eat at kenwoods. From the outside, the windows are so darkly tinted. I couldn't tell if they were open or not. But upon opening the door there were people scattered throughout the place. So we just walked into the bar area and got a high top table. Server came up to us, asked us for drinks and handed us menus. He came back shortly after we gave him the order. I had a chicken Caesar salad and a space dust double IPA, my friend just had a cup of coffee. The chicken Caesar was really good, and the beer was as expected. The first cup of coffee that he brought to the table was cold so we had to send that back to get a fresh cup. Now it wasn't that busy so I would think that the server would take a moment to check to see that the coffee was warm, but apparently that didn't happen. I got my food and started digging in and the coffee came out a few minutes later. The salad was good, had a nice size chicken breast on top and the dressing was really tasty, not overpowering. I was a little bit stunned at the bill when it came to the table and it was $35 plus dollars, I guess the food and grocery hikes still surprise me, although they shouldn't. The dining experience was okay, it wasn't stellar by any means, but it was adequate, I didn't felt neglected or rushed in any way. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because of the coffee incident. Having been a server in the food industry. That's definitely one of the things you look for. We have been coming to Kenwoods for quite a while now and I had never gotten around writing a review. We discovered this place a couple years back and I was hooked after our initial visit. Let me start by saying that the service has always been really good and they really seem to care about their guests which is appreciated. The food is also very good (albeit a bit hit or miss on somedays) and I have never left dissatisfied. I have had the chopped wedge salad , the chicken wings, the morning glory burger, bbq chicken flatbread amongst other offerings and each was great in their own way. My wife and mom have also enjoyed their dishes here as well from the burgers to the garlic herb chicken, to the salmon and more. The place can get busy at times but we have always been lucky with our timing. They have a fairly large indoor seating area as well as a large outdoor patio. Parking is usually fairly easy to find but is shared with many other businesses and restaurants in the shopping center. They also have great happy hour specials on appetizers and drinks as well that will save you a few bucks, so be sure to take advantage. It had been a little while since we last visited Kenwood's but we were in the area and we knew that they would be open a little later. When we got our meals, our server did check in on us & we placed an order for a cocktail at this time. She said ok. We finished eating and waited 20-30 minutes before she appeared, we looked all over and she was not in sight (maybe she was on a break?).
