Outstanding service from Jason Fitzgerald, my server! Very decent Irish Stew...not the best but worth the price. Cold Harp on tap... this and Guinness are Irish Bar must haves, if you don't see these two on the bar pulls then you aren't in an "Irish" bar. Also had the soda bread with a generous dallop of butter! Will come again when in the area
Awesome Irish pub. It's got it all. Checks all the right boxes. Spacious, decor, aura, good cocktails and beer selections. And the best of all, the food is actually really good. The lemon pepper wings were amazing: Good quality chicken, grilled, not overly seasoned. Epic please to watch sports especially FUTBOL. Really solid service as well by a cool staff. It's evident why this place is so popular. Cheers you lovely blokes.
We were celebrating a birthday and a Bon voyage so we decided to go to Muldoon's in New Port beach. My wife and I have been there before, but this time I wanted to try their fish and chips. I must say not the best fish and chips I've had. It was a bit bland and a certain part of it was soggy. My son, the birthday boy had steak frites, which was a little salty and a little tough even though it was cooked to a perfect medium rare. My guess is Muldoon's uses a choice New York strip instead of prime if they want to produce a more tender steak.
Cozy place with homestyle food, servers treat me like family, walking distance to fashion island, and tons of TV's to watch games! Everything on the menu here is legit, my favorite things are the goat cheese stuffed dates, Irish stew, shepards pie, they have tons of beer selection on tap, full bar and wine selection! Top favorite places to frequent for a hearty dinner!
Great spot! I like coming after work. They have plenty of food options to choose from and the alcoholic drinks did not disappoint. Plenty of seating inside, I recommend finding a spot by the TVs to catch some sport games! But there's also dining tables where it's not too loud, great for get togethers
We came here 1 year later as we loved it the last time. And again it did not disappoint. This year was way busier than last year as they held an event here as the weather was very hot so they had stuff outdoors. We got my wife a T-Shirt this year and they got beads too. The food was great again All of them tasted great and you can see the photos. If you want real Irish food come here and enjoy.
Came here with the family the weekend before St. Patty's Day. I was probably spoiled in the Bay Area with places that did green beer and freebies for kiddos but this place did the trick when it came to staple food items. I like that this place has a courtyard if you want more light and then the usual dining area/pub ambiance (my 3 year old asked why it was so dark lol). Loved the pretzel but would have loved drinking the beers with the pretzel and the beers came after it. But the pretzel was on point for sure!! Highly recommend that one! The bangers were decent. My kids liked them. I thought they were good but a bit on the greasy side but the honey mustard was a good sauce that came with it. Got the poke and had to send it back. It was super spicy and the flavor overpowered the rest of the dish. I'm a big poke / sushi person so sadly wasn't impressed with their poke appetizer (that's what I get for trying poke at an Irish pub ha!) Got the corned beef and cabbage instead. Corned beef was good, and so were the carrots and mashed potatoes. The cabbage was pretty greasy with the bacon bits in them. Would have liked just plain cabbage. Kiddos got grilled cheese and chicken tenders and I like that it comes with fruit. Both were good. My husband got the corned beef sandwich. I had a bite and it was good but would have loved the plain boiled cabbage in there. Noella was our waitress and she was pretty good. Could have explained more about the dishes and the differences between them, but she was sweet with my kiddos. Another waiter was super kind and took our picture from different angles, which I so appreciated! He knew what was up :)
We love coming here for the live music and food. Today we came to listen to Family Style. The courtyard is such a beautiful area. I love the openness of the courtyard. The service was very good, they took the orders quickly and the food came out quickly. The portions are very large and the food was very flavorful. Definitely will be back, especially if Family Style is playing.
This is such a good pub! If you love pub culture and everything about it, this is the place for you. From the decor, to the layout of the restaurant, it is an absolute gem. (I am always tickled by restaurants with a real tree in the middle of the place.) There are a couple different dining rooms, and two different bars. (One of them isn't open throughout the day) The bar is cozy, the seating is super comfortable. They have TV's. It's just has a good feeling vibe. If you want to sit in the courtyard, it's like you're outside, while actually being inside. The food is really good. They have great options. The seafood is great. I know it's not very Irish, but even the ahi is fresh. I had the Cobb salad, and it's quite possibly the best Cobb salad I've ever had. It has olives and Swiss cheese, as well as the other mainstays of a Cobb. Our server was super attentive. She was really friendly and cool. This is a place you can come to eat, or just come for a pint and some good laughs with friends. Love this spot for Newport. Sláinte!
Met up with a buddy at Muldoon's Irish Bar in Newport Beach for drinks and some early appetizers on a Wednesday, and the place was already buzzing right at 5:00, which is always a good sign. We grabbed some fries and a couple of beers off the happy hour menu. The beers were solid, and the classic half and half (half Guinness, half Harp) was a fun Irish style pour &!looks cool. We also tried the poke stack, which was very good. For something lighter, I had the Farmleigh Salad ($22) with grilled salmon, mixed greens, roasted tomatoes, dried cranberries, avocado, grilled corn, cotija cheese, and chimichurri dressing. Surprisingly hearty and really flavorful. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd hope for. Lots of dark wood, traditional Irish pub vibes, lively energy, and definitely not a quiet or boring spot. Service was excellent too. Our waitress was super friendly, attentive, and kept everything moving. Parking was a bit tight, so I had to circle around a few times before finally finding a spot. Felt like doing laps around an Irish roundabout. Food wise, it's solid pub food. Good for what it is, but don't expect fine dining or anything fancy. That said, it hits the spot for drinks and casual bites. Overall, great energy, good food, great service, and a fun place to hang out. I'd definitely come back.

Such an awesome spot, whether it's for date night, happy hour, or even to host an event! They have an awesome outside dining area and great bar to watch any game. They host trivia on Tuesday nights at 7pm and have .89 cent wings! The staff is very friendly and their bartender, James, is the best! The bread served during dinner is SOO GOOD! My bf enjoyed his steak frites and I tried the Shepard's pie. They didn't lay light on the meat, I prefer more potatoes! But the carrots on top were prepared perfectly. A great place to checkout!
Great Classic Gem of Newport Beach! Tucked away next fashion island, I had never been here even after living in OC my whole life. This place has been around for a very long time and their aesthetic definitely shows that, but in a cool and antique way. Staff is very friendly! I came with a friend on a Friday night around 9pm and had a great time in the dining room, the bar area was full. Drinks and food are very reasonably priced! Only thing that cost more than anywhere else is a Guinness, but you're in an Irish Pub, I'd charge more too, people are gonna buy it, like me. Got a steak frites which was great. Saw a bunch of pastramis going out that I want to try next time! Will be back

Today was our third visit here. There was no wait and we sat inside which made us feel like we were transported to a pub in Ireland. The waiter was very courteous and made the dining experience very enjoyable. I will say that the staff seem overwhelmed with how many tables they are responsible for. The food was hot and fresh when it was put on our table. I ordered the French Dip with chips. The sandwich and au jus was perfect. The chips were kinda stale and meh. My wife ordered the corned beef and cabbage. It was cooked to perfection and the sides held up well. We will come back to explore the rest of the menu. read more

4.5 rating... Something was off, just slightly. I don't know if it was the time of day (Sunday evening) or if it felt a little sticky... Overall, the staff was kind and attentive, the food was very tasty, and it was easy to get a seat. They have a few TVs at the bar and lots of whiskey and Irish beers. Saw an Instagram post and decided to check out this restaurant as I love Irish pubs. Really nice, very homey feeling, great staff and bar tender, shout out to Jason Sat at the bar and really liked the atmosphere. Had my go to drink Tullamore D.E.W with honey on the rocks. Can't go wrong with this drink. Also had the soda bread and Sheppards pie. So tasty Would highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back soon. Great St Patrick's Day feel to this place. The waiter was super friendly and it just had a great energy. We had the corned beef and cabbage and the fish and chips. The corned beef with the Dijon sauce was decent and the cabbage was pretty good, but just not amazing. We thought the fish and chips were nice and crispy and the fries were also good. We started with the homemade chips, which were good, but I was expecting a sauce or something to go with it. Overall a really fun experience on a crazy crowded St Patrick's day. read more

We love the Reuben sandwich! Great food and menu. Wonderful spot by fashion island. The bar area is chill and relaxing. We love Jason the bartender. Still great food, lots of traditional, and some nontraditional pub food. Beer selection is very good. The fresh pretzel is huge! Shepherds pie, stand up on the menu lots of meat, cream, mashed potatoes, not overwhelmed by vegetables. Steak pasta was very good quality meat, but could use a bit more zing in the flavor. Loaded baked potato very done very well. Service was skilled, maybe a bit slow, but it was a busy night so no real complaint there. In summary, a comfortable casual place with very good food and drink, and pleasant patio seating. read more

Lived in London for years and finding Irish pubs here in the States that can pour a proper pint of Guinness is rare. I was walking around Fashion Island when I came upon Muldoon's and craving a Guinness. Nice atmosphere and vibe and the dude who greeted me was friendly. The pour was decent and the Guinness was delicious! Great cheeseburger with a basket of chips too! They also served complimentary soda bread and warm butter that was also very good. All in all a cool place to chill and have a pint. Reminded me a lot of the pubs in Dublin and London. read more

Muldoon's has been a staple spot in my family for years. My favorite time to go is in the winter because they feature lots of stews, potato based pies and items that will warm you up. My personal favorite is their bangers & mash which has two great bangers, carrots, peas, and mashed potatoes with a side of heavy and an incredible warm dijon. Our server Scott made the experience extra special for my family and we hope to be seated in his area again. This was a great low-key pub with comfort food. There is an outdoor courtyard with a large tree canopy cover, it gives it an indoor feel with lights and bistro tables. There is plenty of room to have a larger party: we had a group of 15. Tuesday night was jeopardy and it was a big hit for our group. I had the Irish stew and Joel and fish and chips. The stew was a great blend of meat, veggies, and mash potatoes: comforting now that the temps dropped. read more

First time at Muldoon's Irish Pub, and I have it in one of the top Irish restaurants that I have been to. This place is huge. It has pub seating, a standard dining room, outdoor dining, and a Celtic Bar. The service was great. Our service, Julian R., was great. Very kind, helpful, and approachable. We start with an order of Irish whiskey wings. For the sauce, we picked buffalo. The sauce was flavored the wings were also good, but they were on the drier side. I had the corned beef and cabbage. The coned beef was gooooood. It was so tender. Dip it in the Dijon mustard, and it's perfection. The cabbage was also delicious. I also tried one of the Irish staples, the famous shepherd's pie. It was very meaty. It was very flavorful and cooked well. Love the mash on top. For dessert, I had the bread pudding. I have to say that was my favorite beard pudding I have had in a long, long time. It was well balanced. So it was not too sweet. The ice cream was delicious. The best part was the beard. It was served straight out of the oven. For drinks, you have to get Guinness hands down. They know how to pour it! I highly recommend this pub/restaurant. Go on, Saint Patrick's Day! Definitely going again soon. read more
