Good old school Bar but the problem with it is that a lot of people there are in the league so most of the times the pool tables are taken up therefore it's not really a bar that you can play pool yourself. They play some pretty great music. Love coming here with my boyfriend when we're in the mood for a chill night. It's so laid back with people looking to just talk or play some pool. The service was pretty friendly too and the bartender makes drinks fast. There is also a patio to vape or smoke I presume. No drinks allowed on patio though. Didn't like that you have to play against the winner since my boyfriend and I were looking to just play 1v1 with each other. Rules are rules so we went elsewhere for some pool. read more

We had a big celebration party for my buddies retirement and we just really had an amazing time. The ambience here is amazing and Ruthann is so friendly with his smiles. It's really such a bummer about this place. Back in like 2016 my friends and I used to come here all the time but now we're def never coming back. It seems like a lot of assumptions were made of me and my friends by not only the patrons even the bar tender too. I had one old lady randomly come up to me when we were in the corner of the bar and yell at me. And then we had another lady come up and just try to take over our area without even talking to us, like we weren't there?? And when we asked like what is happening, her reasoning was bc she's a regular? The bar tender just made a couple comments that were idk maybe not on purpose, but felt like maybe wouldn't happen if we weren't us. Overall, just felt really unsafe for us there. Just look at the demo of most of the good reviews for this place, and if you're not that, know that you may not be treated well here. read more

Don't let the tweaker motel throw you off. I mean they do get weird but you just have to walk by them. Inside is where it gets real weird, and by that I mean AWESOME. Does that matter? What dude takes a dump in a dive bar bathroom anyway? I grew up in a bar where someone tried to flush a Yuengling bottle down the only stall toilet in the men's room and by some grace of god it actually made its way down the drain and lodged itself in the pipes, rendering that toilet useless for the next decade and sealing the stall door shut for good. Someone pooped in the urinal because of that....that has absolutely nothing to do with this review btw. Ok anyway, there's beef jerky here. And not that crafty mustache twirling backyard bullish!t. I'm talking about the delectable Pacific Gold Costco brand but in personal pan pizza sized bags. You know the ones that are just enough to fill you up after those hefty Green Tea shots and High Noons...what's up with those anyway? Cocktails in a can are weird but then again so is the guy out front in the go-cart. I suggest coming earlier in the week. There's this bartender Drew who I thought was some random playing Waylon on the jukebox but turns out he actually works here (my bad for judging because of his cowboy hat). I don't get it why are there dogs allowed in this bar ? They are clearly not true support dogs. There are people out there that are allergic. I guess they don't care about that. Patrick's is a great local bar less than two miles from the 405 and Harbor Blvd. With a solid beer list, healthy drinks, and great bartenders, I would definitely recommend dropping in after reopening. There is a good-sized parking lot to the north of the entrance. After entering, you have the pool tables to the left surrounded by some lower dining tables, with the bar and other games to the right. The bar has a smooth white bar top with a wooden edge, but not much of a rail. Several sizeable wooden bar stools with back support line the bar. The back bar is a perfect mess with years of stickers, photos, an old cash register, glasses, and HDTVs. Several other HDTVs hang throughout the bar, making Patrick's a great place to watch the big game. Opposite the bar is a dividing wall, then more dining tables and the shuffleboard. The service is excellent. The bartenders are friendly and fast, happy to make small talk if that is your thing. The food is very good for your typical pub food. The atmosphere can change depending on when you visit, but everyone is always friendly and fun. read more

Came here on a Saturday night to play pool and it wasn't packed at all. There are 3 pool tables that are 75 cents a game. Quarters only! They also have darts, foosball, and cheap beers! I just wanna say I love this bar and it will always be my regular bar no matter what. I've been coming into this bar for the last 10 years and I've never had a bad experience here. As a female going into a bar alone it can be scary but every bartender has always been kind and awesome enough to make sure people are safe and taken care of. The owners are from Cleveland and they show all of the games here: http://scbba.com/viewing-sites/patricks-pub-costa-mesa-ca/ They show the other NFL games, too, but if your team is playing at the same time as the Browns, you may want to go elsewhere. If your team is playing against the Browns, definitely go elsewhere. Same goes for Ohio State games (and Big Ten in general). They have drink specials for NFL Sunday, and, according to another review, you may get some free pizza if they order it. Just in case, better wear orange and brown. If you're into bar games, they have darts, shuffleboard, pool, etc. They don't have a kitchen, but apparently you can bring in your own food. 7-11 is within walking distance and I think local pizza places will deliver to Patrick's. I am a big fan of craft beer. Don't look for it here. I got a bloody when I was here recently to watch my Eagles. It was OK. I miss Edie. read more

Fun place to come to on St. Patty's Day. Biggest pain in the butt was the parking. Definitely not enough to sustain a full house so I gather a lot of people had to park across the street (hopefully legally). The mood was very festive and the bartenders were cool. They don't serve food but will let you order in pizza from several different joints nearby.
